Description

Technical Field

[0001] The subject matter disclosed herein relates generally to wireless communications, and more particularly, but not limited to, apparatus and methods for dynamic downlink assignment indicator (DAI) count and hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) codebook generation for enhanced physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmissions. Background Art

[0002] The following abbreviations and acronyms are defined herein, at least some of which are referred to in the specification:

[0003] 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), 5th Generation (5G), New Radio (NR), 5G Node B / Generalized Node B (gNB), Long Term Evolution (LTE), LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), E-UTRAN Node B / Evolved Node B (eNB), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX), Evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA), Downlink (DL), Uplink (UL), User Entity / Equipment (UE), Network Equipment (NE), Radio Access Technology (RAT), Receiver or Receiver (RX), Transmitter or Transmitter (T X), Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ), Acknowledgement (ACK), Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request Acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK), Negative Acknowledgement (NACK), Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH), Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH), Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH), Bandwidth Part (BWP), Control Resource Set (CORESET), Downlink Assignment Index (DAI), Downlink Control Information (DCI), Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM), Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA), Identification (ID), Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS), Time Division Multiplexing (TDM), Transmit Receipt Point (TRP), Component Carrier (CC), Frequency Range 1 (FR1), Frequency Range 2 (FR2), Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI).

[0004] In wireless communications such as the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) mobile network, the wireless mobile network can provide seamless wireless communication services to wireless communication terminals with mobility, i.e., user equipment (UE). The wireless mobile network can be formed by a plurality of base stations and the base stations can perform wireless communications with the UE.

[0005] 5G New Radio (NR) is the latest in the 3GPP family of standards and supports very high data rates with lower latency compared to its predecessor LTE (4G) technology. Two types of frequency ranges (FR) are defined in 3GPP. Frequencies below the 6GHz range (from 450 to 6000MHz) are called FR1, and the millimeter wave range (from 24.25GHz to 52.6GHz) is called FR2. 5G NR supports both FR1 and FR2 frequency bands.

[0006] Enhancements to multi-TRP / panel transmission are studied, which include improved reliability and stability in the case of ideal and non-ideal backhaul between these TRPs (Transmit Receive Points). A TRP is a device that transmits and receives signals and is controlled by the gNB through the backhaul between the gNB and the TRP. A TRP may also be referred to as a transmit-receive identity, or simply an identity.

[0007] In the conventional scheme defined in Release 15 and Release 16 specifications, only a single PDCCH transmission for one downlink control information (DCI) is supported for DAI count and HARQ-ACK codebook generation. When there is an additional PDCCH transmission, the DAI counter is increased by 1. The HARQ-ACK bits are concatenated in the same order as the DAI count. In detail, the HARQ-ACK bits are concatenated incrementally at a first level indexed by CORESETPool, at a second level indexed by component carrier (CC), and at a third level indexed by PDCCH monitoring opportunity.

[0008] With multiple TRPs, PDCCH may be sent multiple times using different time / frequency / space resources. For one DCI, there may be multiple PDCCH monitoring opportunities. According to the current type 2 HARQ-ACK codebook determination scheme, the downlink assignment indicator (DAI) including the counter DAI (c-DAI) and the total DAI (t-DAI) is counted according to the cumulative number of {serving cell, PDCCH monitoring opportunity} pairs. In the case of multiple PDCCH monitoring opportunities for one DCI, a new scheme for DAI counting and HARQ-ACK codebook generation is proposed. Summary of the invention

For example, in some embodiments, the UE 200 includes multiple transmitter 212 and receiver 214 pairs for communicating on multiple wireless networks and / or radio frequency bands, and each transmitter 212 and receiver 214 pair is configured to communicate on a different wireless network and / or radio frequency band.

[0055] Figure 33 is a schematic block diagram illustrating components of a network device (NE) 300 according to one embodiment. The NE 300 may include a processor 302, a memory 304, an input device 306, a display 308, and a transceiver 310. As can be appreciated, in some embodiments, the processor 302, the memory 304, the input device 306, the display 308, and the transceiver 310 may be similar to the processor 202, the memory 204, the input device 206, the display 208, and the transceiver 210 of the UE 200, respectively.

[0056] In some embodiments, the processor 302 controls the transceiver 310 to send a DL signal or data to the UE 200. The processor 302 may also control the transceiver 310 to receive a UL signal or data from the UE 200. Although only one transmitter 312 and one receiver 314 are shown, the transceiver 310 may have any suitable number of transmitters 312 and receivers 314. For example, the NE 300 may serve multiple cells and / or cell sectors, wherein the transceiver 310 includes a transmitter 312 and / or a receiver 314 for each cell or cell sector.

[0059] The set of PDCCH monitoring opportunities for DCI format scheduled PDSCH reception or SPS PDSCH release is defined as the union of the PDCCH monitoring opportunities of the active DL BWPs across the configured serving cells. The PDCCH monitoring opportunities are indexed in ascending order of the start time of the search space set associated with the PDCCH monitoring opportunity. The cardinality of the set of PDCCH monitoring opportunities defines the total number of PDCCH monitoring opportunities.

[0060] The value of the Counter Downlink Assignment Indicator (c-DAI) field in the DCI format represents the cumulative number of {serving cell, PDCCH monitoring opportunity} pairs in which there is a PDSCH reception or SPS PDSCH release associated with the DCI format, up to the current serving cell and the current PDCCH monitoring opportunity, first in ascending order of the serving cell index and then in ascending order of the PDCCH monitoring opportunity index. If, for the active DL BWP of the serving cell, no CORESETPoolIndex is provided for the UE or a CORESETPoolIndex value of 0 is provided for one or more first CORESETs and a CORESETPoolIndex value of 1 is provided for one or more second CORESETs, and the UE is provided with ACKNACKFeedbackMode=JointFeedback, the value of the counter DAI is in the order of the first CORSET, followed by the second CORESET with the same serving cell index and the same PDCCH monitoring opportunity index.

[0061] The value of the total DAI (t-DAI) in the DCI format represents the total number of {serving cell, PDCCH monitoring opportunity} pairs in which there is a PDSCH reception or SPS PDSCH release associated with the DCI format, until the current PDCCH monitoring opportunity and updated from the PDCCH monitoring opportunity to the PDCCH monitoring opportunity. If, for the active DL BWP of the serving cell, no CORESETPoolIndex is provided for the UE or a CORESETPoolIndex value of 0 is provided for one or more first CORESETs and a CORESETPoolIndex value of 1 is provided for one or more second CORESETs, and ACKNACKFeedbackMode=JointFeedback is provided for the UE, the {serving cell, PDCCH monitoring opportunity} pairs are counted for both the first CORESET and the second CORESET in the total DAI.

[0062] If the UE sends HARQ-ACK information in time slot n and for any PUCCH format, the UE will be a total of O ACK HARQ-ACK information bits determine The HARQ-ACK bits are first concatenated in CORESETPool index order, then in CC index order, and finally in ascending order of PDCCH monitoring opportunity index.

[0063] That is, for PDCCH without multiple transmissions, the mechanisms for DAI counting and HARQ-ACK codebook generation are well defined. However, they cannot be directly applied to PDCCH with multiple transmissions.

[0064] Figure 4 An example of a HARQ time process for a PDCCH with multiple transmissions is illustrated. In the example, a PDSCH 420 is scheduled by a PDCCH 410 with multiple transmissions, i.e., a first PDCCH 412 in slot n and a second PDCCH 414 in slot n+1. That is, multiple PDCCH transmissions 412 and 414 are used to send a DCI that schedules the PDSCH transmission 420. With respect to the last PDCCH (second PDCCH 414) of the multiple transmissions, when provided, the PDSCH is sent using a time domain resource assignment field in a DCI format with a scheduled PDSCH reception or SPS PDSCH release and a slot offset K0 provided by pdsch-aggregationFactor. In response to PDSCH reception or SPS PDSCH release, the PUCCH transmission time instance (e.g., ACK / NACK codebook 430) with HARQ-ACK information is determined by K1, i.e., the PDSCH-to-HARQ_feedback timing indicator field value.

[0065] In the present disclosure, for the case where PDSCH is scheduled by PDCCH with multiple transmissions, a scheme for generating DAI count and HARQ-ACK codebook based on reference PDCCH is proposed. In some embodiments, multiple transmissions can be achieved through multiple TRPs or transmit-receive identifiers and / or multiple panels.

[0066] Because it is assumed that the same DCI content is used for multiple PDCCH transmissions to achieve combined gain, a PDCCH with multiple transmissions for DCI can be counted only once for DAI counting. One of the PDCCH transmissions can be determined as a reference PDCCH according to some predefined rules. Based on different assumptions about the reference PDCCH, various schemes for DAI counting and HARQ-ACK codebook generation are proposed. In addition, considering different requirements, the reference PDCCH used for DAI counting and HARQ-ACK codebook generation can be the same or different.

[0067] The first PDCCH transmission as a reference PDCCH for both DAI counting and HARQ-ACK codebook generation

[0068] Figure 5A is a schematic diagram illustrating an example of DAI counting and HARQ-ACK codebook generation according to some embodiments of the present disclosure; and Figure 5B is a schematic diagram illustrating another example of DAI counting and HARQ-ACK codebook generation according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0069] In an example, the first PDCCH in multiple transmissions can be used as a reference PDCCH for a PDCCH with multiple transmissions for both DAI counting and HARQ-ACK codebook generation. The DAI value is generated based on the reference PDCCH, and the feedback information bits are arranged based on the reference PDCCH.

[0070] For type 2 HARQ-ACK codebook generation, when determining the value of the counter DAI and the total DAI, the PDCCH in the first PDCCH monitoring opportunity, i.e., the time slot, is used as the reference PDCCH. The remaining PDCCHs of multiple transmissions are not used for counting. For all DCIs with and without multiple transmissions, the relevant DAI is incrementally accumulated at a first level indexed by CORESETPool, at a second level indexed by CC, and at a third level indexed by PDCCH monitoring opportunity, where the DAI counting scheme in Releases 15 and 16 (DAI counting for DCIs without multiple transmissions) is reused as much as possible.

[0071] exist Figure 5A In the example shown, four DCIs (i.e., DCI 1 510A, DCI 2 510C, DCI 3 510B, and DCI 4 510D) are transmitted by two TRPs (i.e., TRP1 and TRP2) on two CCs (i.e., CC1 and CC2). DCI 1 510A and DCI 3 510B are each transmitted using four PDCCH transmissions on CC1, where two of the four PDCCH transmissions for DCI 1 510A (512A and 514A) are transmitted from TRP1 in time slots 1 and 2, respectively, and the other two PDCCH transmissions for DCI 1 (516A, 518A) are transmitted from TRP2 in time slots 3 and 4, respectively. Two of the four PDCCH transmissions for DCI 3 510B (512B and 514B) are sent from TRP1 in slots 5 and 6, respectively, and the other two PDCCH transmissions for DCI 3 (516B, 518B) are sent from TRP2 in slots 7 and 8, respectively. DCI 2 510C and DCI 4 510D are each sent without multiple PDCCH transmissions, e.g., by a single transmission in slots 2 and 6, respectively.

[0072] In the example, the first PDCCH in the multiple transmissions is used as the reference PDCCH for DAI counting. That is, based on the reference PDCCH 512A, which is the first of the multiple PDCCH transmissions for DCI 1, the (c-DAI, t-DAI) value for DCI 1 is (0, 0), and the (c-DAI, t-DAI) value for DCI 2 is (1, 1) through cumulative calculation; based on the reference PDCCH 512B, 512B for DCI 3, the (c-DAI, t-DAI) value for DCI 3 is (2, 2), and the (c-DAI, t-DAI) value for DCI 4 is (3, 3).

[0073] In this example, a reference PDCCH for DCI is determined as the first of a plurality of PDCCH transmission lists for DCI, the list being ordered at a first level indexed by a control resource set pool (CORESETPool) or a control resource set (CORESET) or an activated transmission configuration indication (TCI) state, at a second level indexed by a component carrier (CC), and at a third level indexed by a PDCCH monitoring opportunity.

[0074] It is worth noting that for a DCI with multiple transmissions, the DAI values in the PDCCHs of the other multiple transmissions, eg, 514A, 516A, and 518A, are the same as the DAI value in the reference PDCCH, eg, 512A.

[0075] In this example, for a DCI with multiple transmissions, the DAI value is generated based on its reference PDCCH; and for a DCI without multiple transmissions, the DAI value is generated based on the PDCCH that transmits the DCI. The DAI values for all DCIs (DCIs with and without multiple transmissions) are determined (or counted) based on a list of DCIs, which are based on the reference PDCCH for DCIs with multiple transmissions and the PDCCH transmission for DCIs without multiple transmissions, and are sorted at a first level indexed by a control resource set pool (CORESETPool) or a control resource set (CORESET) or an activated transmission configuration indication (TCI) state, at a second level indexed by a component carrier (CC), and at a third level indexed by a PDCCH monitoring opportunity.

[0076] For HARQ-ACK codebook generation, because the DCI only schedules one PDSCH, there is only one HARQ-ACK bit corresponding to one DCI with multiple transmissions. The PDCCH in the first PDCCH monitoring opportunity, that is, the time slot, is used as a reference PDCCH to determine the HARQ HCAK bit position for the PDSCH scheduled by the PDCCH with multiple transmissions. The ACK / NACK bits corresponding to all DCIs are incrementally concatenated at a first level indexed according to the CORESETPool, at a second level indexed according to the CC, and at a third level alone according to the PDCCH monitoring opportunity. That is, the ACK / NACK bits corresponding to all DCIs are concatenated based on the above-ordered list of DCIs.

[0077] exist Figure 5A In the example shown, the HARQ-ACK codebooks may be concatenated as: {ACK / NACK 1, ACK / NACK 2, ACK / NACK 3, ACK / NACK 4}.

[0078] The position of ACK / NACK 1 is determined by the reference PDCCH 512A having the smallest PDCCH monitoring opportunity index among the multiple transmissions. In this example, since its corresponding DCI 510A is determined only after receiving 4 PDCCH transmissions for DCI 1 in slot 4, ACK / NACK 1 is obtained later than ACK / NACK 2, but ACK / NACK 1 is concatenated before ACK / NACK 2 based on the reference PDCCH 512A for DCI 1 and the PDCCH 510C for DCI 2.

[0079] In this example, the reference PDCCH or the first PDCCH is the PDCCH having the lowest PDCCH monitoring occasion index because a time division multiplexing (TDM) scheme is used for a PDCCH having multiple transmissions.

[0080] In some other examples, spatial division multiplexing (SDM) and frequency division multiplexing (FDM) schemes may also be used for a PDCCH with multiple transmissions, where the PDCCH with multiple transmissions may be sent from multiple TRPs using SDM / FDM.

[0081] For Figure 5B In the SDM / FDM scheme shown, the reference PDCCH or the first PDCCH may be the PDCCH with the smallest index in a plurality of PDCCH transmission lists, the lists being ordered at a first level according to the control resource set pool (CORESETPool index), at a second level according to the component carrier (CC) index, and at a third level according to the PDCCH monitoring opportunity index. Figure 5BIn the example shown, DCI 1 510A is transmitted twice using SDM / FDM, with 2 PDCCHs, i.e., 512A and 514A, transmitted from TRP1 and TRP2, respectively, on the same CCE for SDM or different CCEs for FDM. In this case, because the PDCCH monitoring opportunity, i.e., the first time slot, is the same for both transmissions, new dimensions, i.e., CC index and CORESETPool index, are used for sorting to define the reference PDCCH. For example, because PDCCH 512A from TRP1 has a smaller CORESETPool index than PDCCH 514A from TRP2, PDCCH 512A from TRP1 is sorted in front of PDCCH 514A from TRP2. Therefore, PDCCH 512A from TRP1 is the first PDCCH and can be determined as the reference PDCCH for DAI counting and HARQ-ACK codebook generation.

[0082] exist Figure 5B In the example shown, the HARQ-ACK codebooks may be concatenated as: {ACK / NACK 1, ACK / NACK 2, ACK / NACK 3, ACK / NACK 4}.

[0083] In the present disclosure, the CORESETPool index is used to represent the TRP index. For some cases, it may not be configured because it is optional signaling for only one CORESET. For the case where the CORESETPool index is not configured, the CORESET index can be used to define the reference PDCCH. In the case of a configuration with multiple CORESETs and one TCI state for one CORESET, the CORESET index can be used. Alternatively, the TCI state index of multiple activated TCI states can be used to define the reference PDCCH. It can be used in the case of a configuration with multiple TCI states for a single CORESET.

[0084] The first PDCCH transmission of the PDCCH as a reference for DAI counting and as a reference for HARQ-ACK codebook The last PDCCH transmission of the generated reference PDCCH

[0085] Figure 6 is a schematic diagram illustrating further examples of DAI counting and HARQ-ACK codebook generation according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0086] In this example, two reference PDCCHs may be defined, namely a first reference PDCCH for DAI counting and a second reference PDCCH for HARQ-ACK codebook generation. The first PDCCH in multiple transmissions may be used as a reference PDCCH for DAI counting of a PDCCH with multiple transmissions (ie, the first reference PDCCH), and the last PDCCH in multiple transmissions may be used as a reference PDCCH for HARQ-ACK codebook generation (ie, the second reference PDCCH) of a PDCCH with multiple transmissions.

[0087] The last PDCCH in multiple transmissions can also be used as the reference PDCCH for the DAI count of PDCCHs with multiple transmissions. However, this may not be desirable for gNB implementation, as the gNB has to determine the DAI value based on later PDCCH numbers. Figure 6 The diagram is similar to Figure 5A An example of DCI / PDCCH transmission. Figure 6 As shown in , the gNB has to determine the DAI value for PDCCH 512A transmitted in slot 1 based on the scheduled PDCCH numbers in slots 2, 3, and 4 on multiple CCs. Therefore, in this example, the first PDCCH of multiple transmissions (e.g., 512A and 512B) is still used as the reference PDCCH for DAI counting.

[0088] For HARQ-ACK codebook generation, the PDCCH in the last PDCCH monitoring occasion, i.e., time slot, can be used as a reference PDCCH to determine the HARQ ACK bit position for a PDSCH scheduled by a PDCCH with multiple transmissions. The ACK / NACK bits corresponding to all DCIs are incrementally concatenated at a first level indexed according to CORESETPool, then at a second level indexed according to CC, and finally at a third level indexed according to the PDCCH monitoring occasion.

[0089] exist Figure 6 In the example shown, the HARQ-ACK codebook can be concatenated as: {ACK / NACK2, ACK / NACK 1, ACK / NACK 4, ACK / NACK3}.

[0090] The position of ACK / NACK 1 is determined by the second reference PDCCH 518A having the largest PDCCH monitoring opportunity among multiple transmissions. Here, because its corresponding DCI 510A is determined only after receiving 4 PDCCH transmissions for DCI 1 in time slot 4, and DCI 2 510C is determined after the transmission in time slot 2, ACK / NACK 1 is obtained later than ACK / NACK 2. Therefore, in such a case, ACK / NACK 1 is concatenated after ACK / NACK 2.

[0091] In this example, the first and second reference PDCCHs, i.e., the first and last PDCCHs, may be PDCCHs with the minimum and maximum PDCCH monitoring opportunity indexes because the TDM scheme is used for PDCCHs with multiple transmissions. In some other examples, SDM and FDM schemes may also be used for PDCCHs with multiple transmissions. The first or last PDCCH may be defined as the PDCCH with the minimum or maximum index in the PDCCH list, respectively, where the PDCCHs with multiple transmissions are sorted incrementally at a first level according to the CORESETPool index, then at a second level according to the CC index, and then at a third level according to the PDCCH monitoring opportunity index.

[0092] In this example, the DAI value for DCI is generated based on the first reference PDCCH for DCI, and the feedback information bits are arranged based on the second reference PDCCH for DCI. The DAI value for all DCI is determined similarly to the previous example. The ACK / NACK bits corresponding to all DCI (DCI with and without multiple transmissions) are cascaded according to a DCI list, which is based on the second reference PDCCH for DCI with multiple transmissions and the PDCCH transmission of DCI without multiple transmissions, in order to be sorted according to the first level of the control resource set pool (CORESETPool), in order to be sorted according to the second level of the component carrier (CC) index, and in order to be sorted according to the third level of the PDCCH monitoring opportunity index.

[0093] and Figure 5A and Figure 5BSimilar to the example shown in , in this example and some other examples, the CORESETPool index is also used to represent the TRP index. For some cases, it may not be configured because it is only optional signaling for a CORESET.

[0094] Individual DAI count and HARQ-ACK codebook generation for PDCCH with multiple transmissions

[0095] Figure 7 is a schematic diagram illustrating yet another example of DAI counting and HARQ-ACK codebook generation according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0096] When different ACK / NACK feedback time processes are used for PDSCH scheduled by PDCCH with and without multiple transmissions, separate DAI counts and HARQ-ACK codebook generation may be used in case of PDSCH scheduled by PDCCH with and without multiple transmissions.

[0097] For DAI count, the same scheme in Release 15 and Release 16 can be used for PDCCH without multiple transmissions. For PDCCH with multiple transmissions, a reference PDCCH has to be determined. Similar to the previous example, the first PDCCH can be used as the reference PDCCH for the generation of DAI count and HARQ-ACK codebook for PDCCH with multiple transmissions. Figure 7 The diagram is similar to Figure 5A An example of DCI / PDCCH transmission. Figure 7As shown, DAI counting is performed separately for PDCCHs without multiple transmissions (e.g., DCI 2 and DCI 4) and for PDCCHs with multiple transmissions (e.g., DCI 1 and DCI 3). For example, based on the reference PDCCH, the (c-DAI, t-DAI) value for DCI 2 is (0, 0), and the (c-DAI, t-DAI) value for DCI 4 is (1, 1); the (c-DAI, t-DAI) value for DCI 1 is (0, 0), and the (c-DAI, t-DAI) value for DCI 3 is (1, 1). For a PDCCH with multiple transmissions, the reference PDCCH for DAI counting is the PDCCH with the first monitoring opportunity, for example, PDCCH 512A for DCI 1. For example, the DAI values in other PDCCHs of multiple transmissions of 514A, 516A, and 518A are the same as the DAI value of the reference PDCCH 512A of DCI 1. The first PDCCH used as the reference PDCCH in the example may be defined as the PDCCH with the smallest index, wherein the PDCCHs with multiple transmissions are incrementally ordered at a first level according to the CORESETPool index, then at a second level according to the CC index, and then at a third level according to the smallest PDCCH monitoring opportunity index.

[0098] In this example, the DAI value of the DCI without multiple transmissions is independent from the DAI value of the DCI with multiple transmissions, and they are determined separately.

[0099] For HARQ-ACK codebook generation, two subcodebooks are generated separately for PDSCH scheduled by PDCCH with multiple transmissions and without multiple transmissions: a subcodebook with feedback information bits for DCI with multiple transmissions, and a subcodebook with feedback information bits for DCI without multiple transmissions. Then, the two subcodebooks are cascaded. In one example, a subcodebook corresponding to a PDCCH without multiple transmissions can be generated and placed in front of a subcodebook corresponding to a PDCCH with multiple transmissions. This is friendly to the HARQ timeline because the HACK / NACK bits for the PDSCH corresponding to the PDCCH with multiple transmissions may be generated relatively late due to receiving multiple PDCCH transmissions. In some other examples, the two subcodebooks are cascaded in an order determined based on the codebook generation for DCI with multiple transmissions and the reference PDCCH for a single PDCCH transmission of DCI without multiple transmissions.

[0100] exist Figure 7In the example shown, the order of subcodebook 2 corresponding to the PDCCH with multiple transmissions is {ACK / NACK1, ACK / NACK3}, and the order of subcodebook 1 corresponding to the PDCCH without multiple transmissions is {ACK / NACK2, ACK / NACK4}; and subcodebook 2 is concatenated to subcodebook 1. In some other examples, subcodebook 2 may be referred to as a first subcodebook, and subcodebook 1 may be referred to as a second subcodebook.

[0101] In this example, the HARQ-ACK codebooks may be concatenated as: {ACK / NACK 2, ACK / NACK 4, ACK / NACK 1, ACK / NACK 3}.

[0102] Alternatively, the concatenation order of the two subcodebooks may be defined based on the order of the first PDCCH in each subcodebook, where the first PDCCH corresponding to the subcodebook of multiple transmissions is represented by the first of the reference PDCCHs used for HARQ-ACK codebook generation. Figure 7 As shown, for subcodebook 2, there are two reference PDCCHs 512A and 512B for HARQ-ACK codebook generation. The first reference PDCCH for subcodebook 2 is the PDCCH in the first time slot, for example, 512A. The first PDCCH for subcodebook 1 is the PDCCH in the second time slot, for example, 510C. Therefore, subcodebook 1 corresponding to a PDCCH without multiple transmissions is cascaded to subcodebook 2 corresponding to a PDCCH with multiple transmissions.

[0103] Therefore, the HARQ-ACK codebook can alternatively be concatenated as: {ACK / NACK 1, ACK / NACK 3, ACK / NACK 2, ACK / NACK 4}.

[0104] For a subcodebook corresponding to a PDCCH with multiple transmissions, the HARQ-ACK bits are concatenated according to the order of the reference PDCCH. Figure 7 As shown, ACK / NACK 3 is concatenated to ACK / NACK 1 because the reference PDCCH 512B for ACK / NACK 3 is in the fifth slot, while the reference PDCCH 512A for ACK / NACK 1 is in the first slot.

[0105] Although in Figure 7It is shown in FIG that the first PDCCH for multiple transmissions of one DCI is used as a reference PDCCH for both DAI count and HARQ-ACK codebook generation for the PDCCH with multiple transmissions, but it is possible to implement separate DAI count and HARQ-ACK codebook generation in which the first PDCCH is used as a reference PDCCH for DAI count and the last PDCCH is used as a reference PDCCH for HARQ-ACK codebook generation.

[0106] Figure 8 is a flow chart illustrating steps of DAI count and HARQ-ACK codebook generation for enhanced PDCCH transmission by NE according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0107] At step 802, the processor 302 of the NE 300 generates a common downlink assignment indicator (DAI) value for a set of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmissions, wherein the set of PDCCH transmissions is used to send first downlink control information (DCI) scheduling a common physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission, and the common DAI value is generated based on a first reference PDCCH, which is one of the PDCCH transmissions.

[0108] At step 804, the transmitter 312 of the NE 300 sends first downlink control information (DCI) with a set of PDCCH transmissions.

[0110] The first reference PDCCH and the second reference PDCCH may be determined from a list of PDCCH transmissions, the list being ordered at a first level indexed by a control resource set pool (CORESETPool) or a control resource set (CORESET), or an activated transmission configuration indication (TCI) state, at a second level indexed by a component carrier (CC), and at a third level indexed by a PDCCH monitoring opportunity. The first one in the list may be determined as the first reference PDCCH and the second reference PDCCH; or the first one in the list may be determined as the first reference PDCCH and the second reference PDCCH.

[0113] At step 904, the processor 202 of the UE 200 generates a hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) codebook having feedback information bits arranged based on a second reference PDCCH, wherein the second reference PDCCH is one of the PDCCH transmissions.
