The present application belongs to the field of catalytic conversion of crude oil, and particularly relates to a method for preparing olefins and aromatic hydrocarbons by catalytic cracking of crude oil, which realizes two-component separation of crude oil and heat coupling reaction of catalytic cracking; the crude oil is first separated into two components according to the true boiling point, the heavy component or the component with high true boiling point, i.e. the high-boiling liquid-phase component of the crude oil, is subjected to catalytic cracking in a first reactor, and the product gas separated from the catalyst is subjected to second-stage catalytic cracking in a second reactor with higher temperature; the light component or the component with low true boiling point, i.e. the gaseous stream of the crude oil, directly enters the second reactor for catalytic cracking in the gaseous phase; and the catalyst after the reaction of the second reactor is relayed into the first reactor to continue participating in the first-stage catalytic cracking of the first reactor, forming relayed use of the catalyst.
