System and method for discharging fluid from traction battery pack

Abstract

The present disclosure provides a system and method for discharging fluid from a traction battery pack. Systems and methods for discharging fluid (e.g., water and / or other fluids) from a traction battery pack are provided. An exemplary drainage system for a traction battery pack may include one or more drain tubes. Each drain tube may be configured to release water from the tube in response to a force naturally occurring when driving an electrically powered vehicle equipped with a traction battery pack. Water may enter the drain tube through a drain device disposed in a housing tray of the traction battery pack.
