Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a container for consumer goods and a method for forming a container for consumer goods. The container according to the present invention has particular application as a container for containing an aerosol-generating article or a component of an aerosol-generating article. Background Art

[0002] It is known to package aerosol-generating articles or other consumer products in containers formed from folded cellulose-fiber-based layered blanks. Aerosol-generating articles, such as cigarettes, are typically sold in hinged-lid packs having a box for containing the aerosol-generating article and a lid connected to the box about a hinge line for opening the pack and thereby gaining access to the aerosol-generating article held in the box.

[0003] It is also known to package consumer goods in containers having a shell in which the consumer goods are contained and around which an outer wrapper is wrapped to provide additional protection to the contained consumer goods.

[0004] One type of aerosol-generating article is a cigarette or cigar. These typically include a tobacco cut filler rod surrounded by a paper wrapper, and a cylindrical filter aligned in end-to-end relationship with the wrapped tobacco rod, wherein the filter is attached to the tobacco rod by tipping paper.

[0005] Other types of aerosol generating articles include those that heat, rather than burn, an aerosol-forming substrate such as tobacco. For example, an electrically operated smoking system typically includes an aerosol generating device having a housing for receiving an aerosol generating article or smoking article. A charger unit is typically provided integrally with, or additionally to, a main device for receiving the aerosol generating device. The charger unit is used to provide power to the aerosol generating device, for example by charging a battery in the device. Summary of the invention

[0006] It is generally desirable to provide a container having a barrier between the consumer goods in the housing and moisture or other external elements that may damage or destroy the consumer goods. For example, a plastic outer packaging can be provided to provide this barrier between the consumer goods and the external environment. However, such plastic packaging solutions generally relate to disposable non-recyclable plastics, which is a major problem in the packaging industry at present. This is due to an increase in sensitivity to environmental issues and an increase in demand for more sustainable packaging alternatives. Recently, a cellulose-based outer packaging has been adopted, which is provided with a heat-sealable coating to seal the consumer goods in the container. However, such a cellulose-based packaging requires a relatively large amount of heat-sealable coatings, and requires complicated folding to ensure the sufficient sealing of the container.

[0007] It would therefore be desirable to provide a container for consumer goods of the above mentioned type having an improved solution to achieve a more environmentally friendly packaging solution without the above mentioned disadvantages.

[0018] As used herein, the terms "side", "top", "bottom", "front", "rear" and other terms used to describe the relative positions of components of a container according to the present invention refer to a container in an upright position with the passage opening at the top. When describing a container according to the present invention, these terms are used regardless of the orientation of the container being described. The "bottom" of a container refers to the side of the container opposite the "top" of the container.

[0019] The term "height" is used herein to refer to the dimension extending between the top and the bottom. The term "width" is used herein to refer to the dimension extending between the sides. The term "depth" is used herein to refer to the dimension extending between the front and the back. The height, width, and depth are orthogonal to each other.

[0020] The term "wall" refers more generally to a facet of a container, and a wall may be formed from a single panel or flap, or a wall may be formed from two or more adjoining or overlapping panels or flaps.

[0021] The term "end" is used herein to refer to one of the smaller walls of a container or housing. The end may refer to one of the top wall, the bottom wall, the first side wall, or the second opposing side wall.

[0022] The term "overhang" is used herein to describe the physical connection between two elements of a container according to the present invention. In more detail, the term "overhang" is used to indicate that there is material continuity between two elements, such as two walls or panels of a container or blank. This includes both situations where a wall or panel directly depends from an adjacent wall or panel, and also situations where an intermediate wall or panel effectively connects two walls or panels.

[0023] For example, a side wall or panel may depend directly from an adjacent front wall or panel. In this case, the wall or panel typically depends from the adjacent wall along a fold line. Alternatively, particularly in containers with curved or inclined edges, the side wall or panel may depend indirectly from the front wall or panel. In this case, the curved or inclined edge wall or panel connects the side wall or panel to the front wall or panel. In the case of inclined edges, both the side wall or panel and the front wall or panel may depend from a connected inclined edge wall or panel along their respective fold lines.

[0024] The term "hinge line" is used herein to refer to the line about which the lid can pivot in order to open the container. The hinge line may be, for example, a fold line or a score line. The hinge line about which the lid is connected to the box may coincide with the edge of the container, or the hinge line may extend across the wall of the container at a position spaced apart from the edge.

[0025] The term "heat sealable layer" as used herein refers to a layer that can be welded by conventional indirect heating methods that generate enough heat on at least one film contact surface to conduct to adjacent film contact surfaces and form a bonding interface between the surfaces without losing the integrity of the film. The bonding interface between adjacent layers preferably has sufficient physical strength to withstand the packaging process and subsequent disposal. The heat sealable layer can be designed to meet different expected use conditions, and various heat sealable layer formulations are known in the art and can be used in the present invention.

[0026] The term "marking" as used herein refers to one or more discrete visual elements, or repeated visual elements or patterns, that can provide an aesthetically pleasing or informative presentation. A logo can be in the form of text, an image, letters, words, a logo, a pattern, or a combination thereof. For example, a marking can be a brand or manufacturer logo that allows a consumer to identify the type or source of the consumer goods contained in a container. Additionally or alternatively, a marking can include an identification code that can be associated with information about production and can be used to authenticate the consumer goods.

[0027] The term "envelope fold" is used herein to describe a series of folds that cause two or more panels or flaps of a package to at least partially overlap to form a wall. Thus, the wall formed by the envelop folds is composed of overlapping wall portions (where two or more of the partially overlapping panels or flaps overlap) and non-overlapping wall portions formed by non-overlapping portions of the partially overlapping panels or flaps.

[0028] The term "rectangular fold" is used herein to describe a fold that involves folding a rectangular portion of a wrapper about a fold line that extends along one of the edges of the rectangular portion.

[0029] The term "overlying" is used herein to mean that one portion of a wrapper or housing completely covers another portion of a wrapper or housing.

[0030] The term "sealing" is used herein to refer to the act of closing an opening so as to restrict the ingress of water or debris.

[0031] The method disclosed herein may include the following steps: providing a shell for a consumer product; providing an outer wrapper, the outer wrapper comprising a cellulose-based layer, wherein a heat-sealable polymer layer is disposed on at least a first portion of the inner surface of the outer wrapper; folding the outer wrapper around the shell; heating the shell and the outer wrapper to seal the outer wrapper to the shell.

[0032] The method according to the present invention provides an improved method of forming containers for consumer products. The recyclability of the containers according to the method of the present invention is equal to or better than current packaging solutions compared to existing containers. In implementing the method of forming a container according to the present invention, an equal or less amount of plastic and an equal or greater amount of cellulose-based material is used when compared to a cellulose-based container wrapped with a transparent plastic film.

[0033] In addition, since the cellulose-based layer forms the outer surface of the container formed according to the method of the present invention, consumers who are accustomed to plastic film outer packaging will consider the container to be more environmentally friendly. In addition, if any markings, such as registration marks, are provided on the outer surface of the cellulose-based layer when compared to the plastic film outer packaging, these markings can still be easily formed or printed according to standard processes.

[0034] The container manufactured according to the method of the present invention is easy to manufacture and does not require any substantial modification to existing packaging equipment. In particular, there is little need to modify the folding process of using the sheet material to form the shell or the format of the packaging machine that handles the sheet material.

[0035] Furthermore, since the outer wrapper is permanently attached to the housing, no waste is generated when the user opens the container. In contrast, in standard known containers, at least a portion of the outer plastic film is removed and discarded when the container is opened.

[0036] In addition, the container formed according to the method of the present invention can also provide the user with an improved and simpler unpacking experience. More specifically, since the user does not need to remove and discard any part of the container, less effort is required to open the container and access the consumer products contained therein. When compared to conventional containers with plastic film outer packaging, this can provide a more pleasant experience for the user.

[0037] However, in order to fully seal the outer wrapper made of cellulose-based outer wrapper, a large amount of heat-sealable polymer materials are needed. The folding pattern that is usually used to realize this sealing also affects the printable space of the outer wrapper, because the surface of the container can have two or more overlapping layers of the outer wrapper, and especially, these layers only partially overlap each other, rather than one layer being completely covered by another top layer. It is possible to print on the surface of multiple overlapping layers with outer wrapper, but the visual quality of printing is usually negatively affected. Especially, printing on this type of overlapping layers may usually cause printing interruption or misalignment.

[0038] Therefore, the inventors have appreciated that, in such cases, it would be advantageous to provide a simpler folding pattern to mitigate the above-mentioned disadvantages.

[0039] The method disclosed herein may further comprise the step of folding the outer wrapper around the shell so that a first portion of the outer wrapper overlies a second portion of the outer wrapper at the first end of the shell to cover the first end of the shell, and wherein the first portion forms a rectangular folded portion.

[0040] This novel folding pattern advantageously simplifies the container by reducing the amount of heat-sealable polymer material required to seal the outer wrapper while minimizing the impact on the visual quality of any manufacturer brand logos, trademarks, slogans and other consumer information or other markings printed, embossed or debossed on the wall of the container.

[0041] In addition, because the outermost surface of the outer packaging at the first end of the housing is formed by a rectangular fold, the printable space available for brand, consumer information or markings at the first end of the housing is increased. This rectangular fold also provides a simpler arrangement and increased space for embossing or stamping brand, consumer information and markings into the outer packaging.

[0042] The inventors have also surprisingly discovered that the above configuration also provides an improved seal of the outer packaging, which better protects the consumer goods contained in the housing from the ingress of moisture or other external elements that may damage the consumer goods.

[0043] Preferably, one or more edges of the first part of the outer wrapper are formed by one or more incisions in the outer wrapper. Preferably, the step of providing the outer wrapper includes producing one or more incisions in the outer wrapper to form the first part of the outer wrapper. Preferably, the first part of the outer wrapper is connected to the rest of the outer wrapper by the first part hinge line. Preferably, the outer wrapper is provided with two incisions in the outer wrapper to define the first edge and the second edge of the first part. Preferably, the two incisions in the outer wrapper are parallel incisions. Therefore, the blank for forming the outer wrapper according to the method of the present invention can have the same size as the known blank for forming the outer wrapper. By adding one or more incisions to form the first part, the folding pattern can only be modified. This can advantageously mean that the container according to the present invention is easy to manufacture and does not need to carry out any substantial modification to the existing packaging equipment. The existing blank for the outer wrapper can also be used when minimal modification is required.

[0044] The second portion of the outer wrapper may form an enveloping fold.

[0045] Alternatively, the second portion of the outer packaging can form a rectangular fold. This arrangement can advantageously provide a container for consumer goods with a first end, which is more flush than if the second portion is an encapsulation fold. Especially, the configuration of the rectangular fold overlying the rectangular fold has less overlapping layers than if the rectangular fold overlies the encapsulation fold. Possible printing on the surface of multiple overlapping layers with an outer packaging, but the visual quality of printing is negatively affected usually. Especially, printing on this type of overlapping layers may cause printing interruption or misalignment usually. More specifically, the edge or fold under the overlying portion can produce a raised portion, which is more difficult to print on the raised portion.

[0046] Preferably, the first portion of the outer wrapper has the same shape and size as the first end of the housing.

[0047] By providing the outer package of the first part of the shape and size identical with the shape and size of the first end of the housing, a neater and simpler design has been achieved. The space originally used for printing, embossing or embossing with manufacturer or brand, consumer information or marking decoration at the first end of the housing is maximized. By this construction, the sealing realized at the first end of the housing can also be improved. In addition, in this construction, the risk of the outer package being accidentally removed at the first end of the housing is greatly reduced. Especially, the first part of the outer package can be flush against the first end of the housing, and the edge of the first part of the outer package overlaps with the corresponding edge of the first end of the housing respectively. Therefore, the outer package is unlikely to be stuck, torn or accidentally removed from the housing.

[0048] Preferably, the outer packaging comprises a metallized layer.

[0049] By providing an outer wrapper with a metallized layer or a metallized outer wrapper, the barrier characteristics of the outer wrapper can be improved. The metallized outer wrapper can have a significantly reduced permeability to gases or vapors such as oxygen or moisture, thereby providing additional protection for the consumer goods contained in the container.

[0050] The container for consumer goods formed according to the method of the present invention comprises a shell for the consumer goods and an outer packaging material comprising a cellulose-based layer. The shell can be formed by a sheet material that is folded to define the structure of the shell. The shell can be understood as a three-dimensional structure that at least partially surrounds a space for holding one or more consumer goods.

[0051] The housing and outer wrapper are heated so that the outer wrapper is sealed to the housing. Heating the housing and outer wrapper may include heating the housing and outer wrapper while applying pressure to seal the outer wrapper to the housing. Preferably, the pressure applied to the outer wrapper is between 1 kPa and 100 kPa. After applying heat or pressure or both, the outer wrapper may be permanently attached to the housing and it may be impossible to remove the outer wrapper without deforming or damaging the container.

[0052] Preferably, the outer packaging is folded so that when the outer packaging is wrapped around the shell, the outer packaging completely covers the shell. The outer packaging can be folded so that it conforms to the shape of the shell. The way the outer packaging is folded depends on the shape of the shell.

[0053] Preferably, the outer wrapper is folded around the shell so that a first edge region of the outer wrapper overlaps with an opposite second edge region of the outer wrapper in a longitudinal direction along the shell. It is conceivable that the outer wrapper may also be wrapped around the shell so that a first edge region of the outer wrapper overlaps with an opposite second edge region of the outer wrapper in a transverse direction along the shell.

[0054] Preferably, the first portion of the outer wrapper depends from a fold line of a first wall of the outer wrapper. Preferably, the second portion of the outer wrapper depends from a fold line of a second wall of the outer wrapper. Preferably, the second wall of the outer wrapper is opposite to the first wall. Preferably, the first wall of the outer wrapper is a front wall. Preferably, the second wall of the outer wrapper is a rear wall.

[0055] The first part of the wrapper may completely overlie the first end of the shell. Where the first part of the outer wrapper is suspended from a fold line of the first wall of the outer wrapper, the first part of the outer wrapper preferably completely overlies the first end of the shell.

[0056] At the first end of the housing, the outer wrapper may be composed of a first portion of the outer wrapper and a second portion of the outer wrapper. The first portion of the outer wrapper and the second portion of the outer wrapper may each depend from a respective fold line.

[0057] Preferably, at the first end of the shell, the outer packaging is composed of a first part and a second part, and when the first part and the second part are each suspended from a corresponding folding line, the first part completely covers the second part. Preferably, in such embodiments, the first part of the outer packaging completely covers the first end of the shell.

[0058] The exterior surface of a container according to the present invention may be printed, embossed, debossed or otherwise decorated with a manufacturer or brand logo, trademark, slogan and other consumer information or other indicia.

[0059] The container may be configured to contain consumer products, such as an aerosol-generating article, one or more aerosol-generating devices, accessories and utilities. The consumer products may be contained in a single compartment or separate compartments in the container.

[0060] The container may be a hinged lid box having a box portion and a lid portion connected to the box portion along a hinge line extending across a rear wall of the container, the hinged lid box being formed by a housing and an outer packaging. The container may have an opening line arranged across one or more walls of the container to separate the lid portion and the box portion. The lid portion may be movable from a first closed position, in which the opening of the housing is covered, to a second open position, in which the opening of the housing is uncovered. The opening may be defined by an opening line.

[0061] The box portion can comprise a box portion front wall, a box portion rear wall, a relative first box portion side wall and a second box portion side wall and a box portion bottom wall. The box portion can have an opening at the top end of the box portion. The opening of the box portion can be limited by the top edge of the box portion front wall, the box portion rear wall and a relative box portion first side wall and a box portion second side wall. The box portion defines the inner space of a part of the compartment that forms the container.

[0062] The cover part may include a cover part front wall, a cover part rear wall, a first cover part side wall and a second cover part side wall relative to each other and a cover part top wall. The cover part may have an opening at the bottom end of the cover part. The opening of the cover part may be limited by the bottom edge of the cover part front wall, the cover part rear wall and the first cover part side wall and the second cover part side wall. The cover part may define an inner space that forms a part of a compartment of the container.

[0063] The opening line may be defined by a weakened line in one or both of the housing and the outer packaging. The weakened line may be a tear strip or an etched line. In the case where the weakened line is an etched line, the etched line may have a depth no greater than 80% of the thickness of one or both of the housing and the outer packaging. Thus, the container of the present invention may be tamper-resistant because the outer packaging needs to be destroyed to open the cover portion.

[0064] The container according to the invention is particularly suitable as a container for elongated aerosol-generating articles, such as cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos or other aerosol generators that rely on heating (e.g. by an electric heat source or a carbon heat source) rather than burning tobacco. It will be appreciated that, by appropriate choice of its dimensions, the container according to the invention may be designed for different numbers of standard, extra-large, super-large, elongated or extra-elongated aerosol-generating articles. Alternatively, other consumer products may be accommodated inside the container. For example, by appropriate choice of dimensions, the container according to the invention may be designed to accommodate a total of between ten and thirty aerosol-generating articles. Depending on the total number of aerosol-generating articles, the aerosol-generating articles may be arranged in different ordering rules.

[0065] The container according to the invention may be in the shape of a cuboid with right-angled longitudinal edges and right-angled transverse edges. Alternatively, the container may be in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped with one or more rounded longitudinal edges, rounded transverse edges, beveled longitudinal edges or beveled transverse edges, or a combination thereof.

[0066] Typically, the outer dimensions of the container are between about 0.5 mm and about 5 mm larger than the dimensions of the bundle or bundles of aerosol-generating articles contained within the container.

[0067] Preferably, the container according to the present invention has a height between about 60 mm and about 150 mm, more preferably between about 70 mm and about 125 mm, wherein the height is measured from the bottom wall to the top wall of the container. Preferably, the container according to the present invention has a width between about 12 mm and about 150 mm, more preferably between about 70 mm and about 125 mm, wherein the width is measured from one side wall of the container to the other side wall.

[0068] Preferably, containers according to the present invention have a depth between about 6 mm and about 150 mm, more preferably between about 12 mm and about 25 mm, wherein the depth is measured from the front wall to the rear wall of the container (including the hinge between the box and the lid).

[0069] Preferably, the ratio of the height of the container to the depth of the container is between about 0.3 to 1 and about 10 to 1, more preferably between about 2 to 1 and about 8 to 1, and most preferably between about 3 to 1 and 5 to 1.

[0070] Preferably, the ratio of the width of the container to the depth of the container is between about 0.3 to 1 and about 10 to 1, more preferably between about 2 to 1 and about 8 to 1, and most preferably between about 2 to 1 and 3 to 1.

[0071] When the container includes an aerosol-generating article, the container may also include, for example, a waste compartment for cigarette ashes or butts, or other consumer products, such as matches, lighters, extinguishing devices, breath fresheners, or electronic devices. [0273] Figure 1 The housing 10 used in the container formed according to the method of the present invention is shown. The housing 10 has a rectangular parallelepiped shape and comprises a box portion 14 and a cover portion 16. The parallelepiped defines a rear wall 21, a front wall 22, a left side wall 23, a right side wall 24, a bottom wall 25 and a top wall 26.

[0274] The housing 10 further includes a first right edge 27 and a second right edge 28 of the housing 10. The first right edge 27 is formed between the rear wall 21 and the right side wall 24, while the second right edge 28 is formed between the front wall 22 and the right side wall 24. The housing 10 further includes a first left edge 29 formed between the rear wall 21 and the left side wall 23, and a second left edge 51 formed between the front wall 22 and the left side wall 23 (the edge 29 is formed between the front wall 22 and the left side wall 23). Fig.14 (visible in the figure).

[0275] The lid portion 16 is hinged about a hinge line 17 extending across the rear wall of the housing. In addition, the housing 10 defines a housing or interior volume (not shown) that contains, for example, a set of aerosol generating articles (not shown). [0287] Fig. 9 yes Figures 4 to 8 A more detailed front view of an outer wrapper 101, 101', 701, 801. A first portion 71 and a third portion 73 forming a rectangular fold of the outer wrapper are shown together with a second portion 72 and a fourth portion 74 forming an enveloping fold of the outer wrapper. A cut line 47 in the outer wrapper defining the edges of the first portion 71 and the third portion 73 is also shown. As shown on the outer wrapper 101 or 101', a weakening line 19' is formed. The weakening line 19' is formed on the outer wrapper 101, 101' in a manner such that when the outer wrapper 101, 101' is wrapped around the shell 10, the weakening line 19' coincides with the opening line 19, as shown in Figures 15 to 17 Visible in.

[0288] To form the container 1, an outer wrapper formed by an outer wrapper 101 is wrapped around the shell 10, such as Figures 10 to 19 shown.

[0289] The weakening line 19' may be produced by a laser scoring process or by partial mechanical cutting of the cellulose based layer 40 through its thickness without damaging the heat sealable layer and the moisture barrier layer.

[0290] Weakened lines 19' are formed on the cellulose-based layer 40. Scoring is performed on the outer surface 45 of the cellulose-based layer 40, which will become the outer surface of the container 1. The depth of the scoring is controlled so as not to affect the moisture barrier properties of the second polymer layer 42 or the heat sealable properties of the first polymer-based layer 41.

[0291] Taking into account the scoring tolerances of both the laser and mechanical processes, and for good functionality and ease of opening, the scoring depth is preferably between 50% and 80% of the thickness of the cellulose-based layer 40. For laser scoring, a 1000 watt CO 2 Laser. Beam control of the laser can be done by a scanner. The process can be roll-to-roll at a speed of 200 m / min.

[0292] In case of mechanical scoring, a rotary cutting unit may be used. The operation is performed inserting the second cellulose-based layer between the knife of the cutting unit and a blind counter roller. Depending on the substrate, the distance between the knife and the counter roller may be between 15 microns and 30 microns.

[0293] exist Figures 10 to 19 In FIG. 8 , only the outer packaging 101 is shown, however, the same process is applicable to the outer packagings 101 ′, 801 and 901 .

[0294] like Fig.10 As shown, the outer wrapper 101 is adjacent to the right side wall 24 of the housing 10. The outer wrapper 101 is positioned in such a way that the heat sealable polymer layer 41 contacts the housing 10 at the right side wall 24. Therefore, the heat sealable polymer layer 41 is the inner layer of the outer wrapper 101.

[0295] Fig.18 A magnified view of Fig.10 The circular feature of the outer wrapper 101 shows how the outer wrapper 101 is applied to the housing 10 so that the outer wrapper 101 is in contact with the housing 10. The outer wrapper 101 is formed with two fold lines 102, 103 corresponding to the positions of the first edge 27 and the second right edge 28 of the housing 10. This is Fig.11 As shown in Fig.19 The arrows in Fig.11 As shown in the circular portion of the figure, the outer packaging 101 is then compressed against the side wall 24.

[0296] Fig.12 It is shown that the outer wrapper 101 is folded at two folding lines 102 , 103 , so that the front wall 22 and the rear wall 21 of the housing 10 are also in contact with the outer wrapper 101 .

[0297] The housing 10 is then preferably reoriented to facilitate wrapping, for example, the left side wall 23 may now face upward, such as Fig.13 shown.

[0298] Then two further fold lines, namely fold lines 104, 105, corresponding to the positions of the first left edge 29 and the second left edge 51 are formed in the outer wrapper 101. The outer wrapper 101 is then folded at the two fold lines 104, 105, and the two opposite flaps of the blank are overlapped on the left side wall 23. This is Fig.14 The left side wall 23, the right side wall 24, the front wall 22 and the rear wall 21 of the housing 10 are formed with panels of the outer packaging 101. In this way, the entire opening line 19 and the hinge line 17 are covered by the outer packaging 101.

[0299] The housing 10 and outer wrapper 101 are then preferably reoriented so that the front wall 22 now faces upward, as shown in FIG. Fig.15 shown.

[0300] Fig.16 and 17 Show that outer wrapper 101 is folded to cover the end 25 and 26 of shell. Outer wrapper 101 is folded to form second part 72 and fourth part 74 in a known manner called "envelope folding", and said second part and fourth part are enveloping foldings. Then fold second part 72 and fourth part 74, to abut and partially cover the end 25 and 26 of shell 10 respectively. Then fold outer wrapper 101 to form first part 71 and third part 73, said first part and third part are rectangular foldings. Then fold first part and third part so that they abut the end 25 and 26 of shell respectively. First part 71 and third part 73 overlie second part 72 and fourth part 74 respectively, and cover the end 25 and 26 of shell 10 completely.

[0301] exist Fig.17 In the embodiment shown, the entire housing 10 is covered by an outer wrapper 101 which forms a panel on each wall of the housing 10. The weakening line 19' coincides with the opening line 19 which overlies it.

[0302] Fig. 20 and 21 The outer packaging 101 is shown Fig.16 and 17An alternative construction of the construction is folded to cover the ends 25 and 26 of the shell. The outer packaging 101 is folded to form a second portion 72 and a fourth portion 74, which are rectangular folds. The second portion and the fourth portion 74 are folded to abut and cover the ends 25 and 26 of the shell 10, respectively. The outer packaging is then folded to form a first portion 71 and a third portion 73, which are also rectangular folds. The first portion and the third portion are then folded so that they abut the ends 25 and 26 of the shell 10, respectively. The first portion 71 and the third portion 73 overlie the second portion 72 and the fourth portion 74, respectively, and completely cover the ends 25 and 26 of the shell 10.

[0303] exist Fig.21 In the embodiment shown, the entire housing 10 is covered by an outer wrapper 101 which forms a panel on each wall of the housing 10. The weakening line 19' coincides with the opening line 19 which overlies it.

[0304] Heat and pressure are applied to fix and bond the outer packaging 101 to the housing 10. For example, a temperature of 110 degrees Celsius and 1 Newton / square centimeter (N / cm 2 ) for a period of 100 milliseconds. These conditions provide a satisfactory seal and high adhesion.
