Automatic monitoring equipment and a plurality of prism targets with different appearances are arranged in a target monitoring scene; for any visual angle range of the automatic monitoring equipment in the target monitoring scene, if a plurality of prism targets exist in the visual angle range, the appearances of the plurality of prism targets are different. Thus, by changing the appearance of the prism target, a plurality of prism targets in a video picture shot by automatic monitoring equipment can be detected and distinguished through an image recognition algorithm, and then accurate centering of each prism target is achieved through a visual mode of image recognition; on the premise that accurate centering is achieved, prisms can be densely arranged on a monitoring site to serve as monitoring points, and the purpose of improving monitoring accuracy is indirectly achieved.
