[0044] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, and the same or corresponding components are indicated by the same reference numerals, and in the case where the same reference numerals are assigned, redundant explanation may be omitted.
[0045] It will be understood that when an element or layer is referred to as being "on," "connected to," or "bound to" another element or layer, the element or layer may be directly on, directly connected to, or directly bound to the other element or layer, or one or more intervening elements or layers may also be present. When an element or layer is referred to as being "directly on," "directly connected to," or "directly bound to" another element or layer, there are no intervening elements or layers. For example, when a first element is described as being "bound to" or "connected to" a second element, the first element may be directly bound to or directly connected to the second element, or the first element may be indirectly bound to or indirectly connected to the second element via one or more intervening elements.

When expressions such as "at least one (kind / person) in ... " and "any one (kind / person) in ... " are located after a column of elements, the entire column of elements is modified without modifying the individual elements in the column. For example, the expression "at least one (kind / person) in a, b, and c" represents only a, only b, only c, both a and b, both a and c, both b and c, all of a, b, and c, or their variations. As used herein, the term "use" and its variations may be considered to be synonymous with the term "utilize" and its variations, respectively. As used herein, the terms "substantially", "about (approximately)" and similar terms are used as approximate terms, not as degree terms, and are intended to explain the inherent deviations of the measured values or calculated values that will be recognized by those of ordinary skill in the art.
[0047] It will be understood that, although the terms first, second, third, etc. can be used to describe various elements, components, regions, layers and / or parts here, these elements, components, regions, layers and / or parts should not be limited by these terms. Therefore, the term "under" can include both above and below orientations. The device can be oriented otherwise (rotated 90 degrees or in other orientations), and the spatially relative descriptors used herein should be interpreted accordingly.
[0049] The terms used herein are for the purpose of describing the embodiments of the present disclosure and are not intended to limit the present disclosure. As used herein, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the singular forms "one" and "one (kind / person)" are also intended to include plural forms. It will also be understood that when the terms "include", "comprise" and / or its variations are used in this specification, the stated features, wholes, steps, operations, elements and / or components are indicated, but the presence or addition of one or more other features, wholes, steps, operations, elements, components and / or their groups are not excluded.
[0050] In the following embodiments, the x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis are not limited to the three axes on the Cartesian coordinate system, and can be interpreted in a broader sense including the same meaning. For example, the x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis can be perpendicular to each other, but can refer to different directions that are not perpendicular to each other.
[0051] In the present disclosure, a specific process order may be performed in a different order than described. For example, two consecutively described processes may be performed substantially simultaneously or in an order opposite to the described order.
[0052] The control unit and / or any other related device or component according to the embodiments of the present disclosure described herein can be implemented using any suitable hardware, firmware (e.g., application specific integrated circuit), software and / or a suitable combination of software, firmware and hardware. For example, the various components of the control unit can be formed on an integrated circuit (IC) chip or on a separate IC chip. In addition, the various components of the control unit can be implemented on a flexible printed circuit film, a carrier package (TCP), a printed circuit board (PCB), or formed on the same substrate as the control unit. In addition, the various components of the control unit can be processes or threads running on one or more processors in one or more computing devices, which execute computer program instructions and interact with other system components to perform the various functions described here. The computer program instructions are stored in a memory, which can be implemented in a computing device using a standard memory device such as a random access memory (RAM) as an example. The computer program instructions can also be stored in other non-temporary computer-readable media such as CD-ROMs, flash drives, etc. as examples. In addition, it should be appreciated by those skilled in the art that, without departing from the scope of the exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the functions of various computing devices can be combined or integrated into a single computing device, or the functions of a specific computing device can be distributed throughout one or more other computing devices.
[0053] Figure 1 is a perspective view schematically showing an apparatus 100 for manufacturing a display device according to an embodiment, Figure 2 is schematically shown in Figure 1 0 is a perspective view of a portion of an apparatus 100 for manufacturing a display device shown in FIG.
[0054] Reference Figure 1 and Figure 2 , an apparatus 100 for manufacturing a display device may include a supporting unit 110 , a stage 120 , a moving unit 130 , a droplet ejecting unit 140 , a detecting unit (eg, a detector) 150 , a containing unit 160 , and a control unit (eg, a controller) 180 .
[0055] The supporting unit 110 may include a stage 111, a guide member 112, a substrate moving member 113, and a substrate rotating member 114. The stage 111 may include an alignment mark for aligning the display substrate S.
[0056] The display substrate S may be a substrate used in a display device currently manufactured. The display substrate S may include glass or a polymer resin such as polyethersulfone, polyacrylate, polyetherimide, polyethylene naphthalate, polyethylene terephthalate, polyphenylene sulfide, polyarylate, polyimide, polycarbonate (PC), cellulose triacetate (TAC), or cellulose acetate propionate.
[0057] The guide members 112 may be spaced apart from the substrate moving member 113 and on either side of the substrate moving member 113. The length of each of the guide members 112 may be greater than the length of the edge of the display substrate S. In such an embodiment, Figure 1 The length of the guide member 112 and the edge length of the display substrate S are measured in the x-axis direction.
[0058] The stage 120 may be disposed on the guide member 112. In an embodiment, the guide member 112 may include a constant track so that the stage 120 may exhibit linear motion in a longitudinal direction of the guide member 112 (e.g., along the longitudinal direction of the guide member 112). For example, the guide member 112 may include a linear motion track.
[0059] The substrate moving member 113 may be disposed on the platform 111. The substrate moving member 113 may extend in the longitudinal direction of the guide member 112. Figure 1 , the substrate moving member 113 can be Figure 1 In addition, the substrate moving member 113 may include a track, and the substrate rotating member 114 may perform linear motion along the track. For example, the substrate moving member 113 may include a linear motion track.
[0060] The substrate rotating member 114 may be provided to be rotatable on the substrate moving member 113 (e.g., may be rotatably provided on the substrate moving member 113). When the substrate rotating member 114 rotates, the display substrate S provided on the substrate rotating member 114 also rotates. In an embodiment, the substrate rotating member 114 may rotate around (or about) a rotation axis perpendicular to one surface of the platform 111 on which the display substrate S is placed. When the substrate rotating member 114 rotates around a rotation axis perpendicular to one surface of the platform 111 on which the display substrate S is placed, the display substrate S provided on the substrate rotating member 114 also rotates around a rotation axis perpendicular to one surface of the platform 111 on which the display substrate S is placed. In such an embodiment, the substrate rotating member 114 may fix the display substrate S after placing the display substrate S on the platform 111. For example, the substrate rotating member 114 may include one of a vacuum chuck, an electrostatic chuck, and an adhesive chuck.
[0061] The stage 120 may be disposed on the guide member 112. That is, the stage 120 may be disposed on the guide members 112 that are spaced apart from each other on either side of the substrate moving member 113 (eg, on opposite sides of the substrate moving member 113).
[0062] The stage 120 may move in the longitudinal direction of the guide member 112. In an embodiment, the stage 120 may be manually linearly moved or may be automatically linearly moved by including a motor, a cylinder, etc. For example, the stage 120 may be automatically linearly moved by including a linear motion block moving along a linear motion track.
[0063] The moving unit 130 may move linearly on (or along) the stage 120. For example, the stage 120 may include a constant track along which the moving unit 130 may move linearly. In such an embodiment, the droplet ejection unit 140 may be disposed on the moving unit 130 and may move together with the moving unit 130 when the moving unit 130 moves.
[0064] The moving unit 130 and the droplet ejecting unit 140 may be arranged in various ways. For example, a plurality of moving units 130 and a plurality of droplet ejecting units 140 may be provided. In such an embodiment, one droplet ejecting unit 140 may be provided on one moving unit 130, a portion of the plurality of droplet ejecting units 140 (e.g., one of the plurality of droplet ejecting units 140) may be arranged on one moving unit 130, or another portion of the plurality of droplet ejecting units 140 (e.g., another of the plurality of droplet ejecting units 140) may be arranged on another moving unit 130.
[0065] In another embodiment, a plurality of droplet ejecting units 140 may be provided, and one moving unit 130 may be provided. In such an embodiment, a plurality of droplet ejecting units 140 may be arranged on one moving unit 130, and may be simultaneously moved according to the movement of the moving unit 130. In such an embodiment, each of the droplet ejecting units 140 may include at least one head including at least one nozzle.
[0066] Hereinafter, for convenience of explanation, an embodiment in which a plurality of moving units 130 and a plurality of droplet ejecting units 140 are provided and one droplet ejecting unit 140 is provided on one moving unit 130 will be described in detail.
[0067] A plurality of moving units 130 may be provided. In such an embodiment, the number of moving units 130 may correspond to the number of droplet ejecting units 140. For example, each of the moving units 130 may include a first moving unit 131, a second moving unit 132, and a third moving unit 133.
[0068] The first mobile unit 131 and the second mobile unit 132 may be spaced apart from each other, and the second mobile unit 132 and the third mobile unit 133 may be spaced apart from each other. The distance between the first mobile unit 131 and the second mobile unit 132 may be equal to the distance between the second mobile unit 132 and the third mobile unit 133. In another embodiment, the distance between the first mobile unit 131 and the second mobile unit 132 and the distance between the second mobile unit 132 and the third mobile unit 133 may be different from each other. In the above embodiment, the first mobile unit 131, the second mobile unit 132, and the third mobile unit 133 may move independently of each other.
[0069] The moving unit 130 may move linearly on (or along) the stage 120. For example, the moving unit 130 may move in the length direction of the stage 120. For example, at least one of the first moving unit 131, the second moving unit 132, and the third moving unit 133 may move in a linear direction. Figure 1 Move in the y-axis direction or in the direction opposite to the y-axis direction.
[0070] In an embodiment, the moving unit 130 may be manually linearly moved. In another embodiment, the moving unit 130 may be automatically linearly moved by including a motor, a cylinder, etc. For example, the moving unit 130 may include a linear motion block that moves along a linear motion track.
[0071] The droplet ejecting unit 140 may be disposed on the moving unit 130 . For example, the first droplet ejecting unit 141 may be disposed on the first moving unit 131 , the second droplet ejecting unit 142 may be disposed on the second moving unit 132 , and the third droplet ejecting unit 143 may be disposed on the third moving unit 133 .
[0072] The droplet ejecting unit 140 may eject the droplets DR into the display substrate S or into the receiving unit 160. The droplets DR may be red, green, and blue inks in which pigment particles are mixed with liquid crystals, an alignment agent, and a solvent. In another embodiment, the droplets DR may be a polymer or a low molecular weight organic material corresponding to a light emitting layer of an organic light emitting display device. In another embodiment, the droplets DR may include a solution containing inorganic particles such as a quantum dot material.
[0073] The amount of droplets DR independently supplied to each of the first droplet ejecting unit 141, the second droplet ejecting unit 142, and the third droplet ejecting unit 143 (or emitted by each of the first droplet ejecting unit 141, the second droplet ejecting unit 142, and the third droplet ejecting unit 143) can be adjusted. In such an embodiment, each of the first droplet ejecting unit 141, the second droplet ejecting unit 142, and the third droplet ejecting unit 143 can be electrically connected to the control unit 180. Therefore, the amount of droplets DR ejected from each of the first droplet ejecting unit 141, the second droplet ejecting unit 142, and the third droplet ejecting unit 143 can be adjusted by the control unit 180. In the above-mentioned embodiment, at least one of the first droplet ejecting unit 141, the second droplet ejecting unit 142, and the third droplet ejecting unit 143 may include at least one nozzle for ejecting one droplet DR. In such an embodiment, when a plurality of nozzles are provided, at least one of the plurality of nozzles may provide the droplet DR to an opening described later (see, for example, Fig.11 For example, a nozzle can provide a droplet DR to an opening (see, e.g. Fig.11 In another embodiment, at least two nozzles can provide droplets DR to one opening (see, for example, Fig.11 19OP in it).
[0074] The detection unit 150 may detect and measure the shape of the droplet DR ejected by the droplet ejecting unit 140. For example, the detection unit 150 may detect and measure the shape of a portion of the outer surface of the droplet DR ejected by the droplet ejecting unit 140, or may detect and measure the shape of a portion of the cross section of the droplet DR ejected by the droplet ejecting unit 140. The detection unit 150 may detect the shape of the outer surface of the droplet DR projected onto the first plane SF1 (i.e., an arbitrary plane). The detection unit 150 may include a first detection unit 151 and a second detection unit 152.
[0075] The first detection unit 151 and the second detection unit 152 may detect the droplets DR ejected from the droplet ejecting unit 140 to the receiving unit 160. The first detection unit 151 and the second detection unit 152 may be arranged on a falling path of the droplets DR dropped from the droplet ejecting unit 140. In addition, the first detection unit 151 and the second detection unit 152 may be arranged in opposite directions based on the falling path of the droplets DR. That is, the second detection unit 152 may be disposed opposite to (e.g., facing) the first detection unit 151, with the dropped droplets DR between the second detection unit 152 and the first detection unit 151. For example, in Figure 2 In the embodiment, the first detection unit 151 and the second detection unit 152 may be spaced apart from each other in the x-axis direction.
[0076] The first detection unit 151 and the second detection unit 152 may detect the shape of a portion of the outer surface of the droplet DR projected onto the first plane SF1. If the shapes of the portions of the outer surface of the droplet DR detected by the first detection unit 151 and the second detection unit 152 are not connected to each other (for example, if the first detection unit 151 and the second detection unit 152 do not completely image the outer surface of the droplet DR), the control unit 180 may connect other portions except the shapes of the portions of the outer surface of the droplet DR detected by the first detection unit 151 and the second detection unit 152 (for example, the control unit 180 may infer or generate imaging data of the missing outer surface of the droplet DR).
[0077] The detection unit 150 may have various shapes. For example, the detection unit 150 may include a confocal microscope, an interference microscope, or a color confocal line sensor. The confocal microscope can obtain various two-dimensional images of objects with different depths, and is a microscope that reconstructs the three-dimensional structure of the object based on these two-dimensional images. The confocal microscope may be, for example, a color confocal microscope, a color line confocal microscope, etc. An interference microscope is a microscope that measures and quantifies by observing changes in the microstructure and phase of an object. The interference microscope may be, for example, a laser interference microscope, a white light interference microscope, etc. Hereinafter, for ease of explanation, an embodiment in which the detection unit 150 includes a confocal line sensor will be described in detail.
[0078] The number of the droplet ejecting units 140 may be greater than the number of the detecting units 150. The number of a set of detecting units 151 and 152 may be smaller than the number of the droplet ejecting units 140. Therefore, one detecting unit 150 may detect a plurality of droplets DR at the same time.
[0079] exist Figure 1 and Figure 2In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 , three droplet ejecting units 140 and one detection unit 150 are provided. However, this is merely an example, and the number of droplet ejecting units 140 and the number of detection units 150 are not limited thereto. For example, in another embodiment, a plurality of detection units 150 may be provided, and the number of droplet ejecting units 140 may be greater than the number of detection units 150.
[0080] The accommodation unit 160 may be disposed between the guide members 112. In such an embodiment, the accommodation unit 160 may temporarily store the droplets DR when the droplets DR dropped from the droplet ejecting unit 140 are measured. The accommodation unit 160 may be disposed on the platform 111. In another embodiment, the accommodation unit 160 may also be disposed on the lower surface of the platform 111. In such an embodiment, a hole (or opening) may be formed in a portion of the platform 111 where the accommodation unit 160 is disposed.
[0081] In the apparatus 100 for manufacturing a display device, droplets DR may be supplied to a display substrate S so that an organic material layer may be formed on the display substrate S. In such an embodiment, the droplets DR need to be precisely ejected onto the display substrate S. To confirm this, after each droplet ejecting unit 140 is arranged to correspond to the receiving unit 160, the droplets DR may be detected by the detection unit 150 while ejecting the droplets DR onto the receiving unit 160. In another embodiment, each droplet ejecting unit 140 may eject the droplets DR onto the display substrate S, and the detection unit 150 may detect the droplets DR. In another embodiment, each droplet ejecting unit 140 may be placed on a support plate (the support plate is separately provided at a portion where the substrate rotating member 114 or the receiving unit 160 is provided), and the droplet ejecting unit 140 may supply the droplets DR to a test substrate having the same shape as the display substrate S, so that the detection unit 150 may detect the droplets DR. However, hereinafter, for convenience of explanation, an embodiment in which the liquid droplet ejecting unit 140 ejects the liquid droplets DR into the receiving unit 160 and the detecting unit 150 detects the liquid droplets DR will be described in detail.
[0082] The control unit 180 may extract (e.g., may determine based on the result of measurement using the detection unit 150) the volume of each of the plurality of droplets DR dropped from the plurality of droplet ejecting units 140 based on the result of measurement using the detection unit 150. The control unit 180 may control at least one of the droplet ejecting unit 140 and the moving unit 130 based on the volume of the droplet DR (e.g., based on the determined volume).
[0083] For example, the control unit 180 may control the amount of droplets DR ejected by the droplet ejection unit 140 and / or the ejection speed of the droplets DR. In addition, the position of the droplet ejection unit 140 may be changed by the moving unit 130 in response to the control unit 180, so that the ejection angle of the droplets DR and the falling path of the droplets DR may be adjusted so that the droplets DR fall at a desired position. In another embodiment, the droplet ejection unit 140 may be cleaned according to the ejection angle of the droplets DR or the falling path of the droplets DR, or the moving speed of the display substrate S or the moving speed of the droplet ejection unit 140 may be controlled.
[0084] Figure 3 is a block diagram illustrating a control unit 180 according to an embodiment, Figure 4 is a diagram showing sampled low-resolution data SLD according to an embodiment, Figure 5 is a diagram showing sampled high resolution data SHD according to an embodiment, Figure 6 is a diagram showing detection of low resolution data ELD according to an embodiment, Figure 7 is a diagram showing enlarged high-resolution data UHD according to an embodiment, and Figure 8 is a diagram showing data for extracting (or determining) the volume of a droplet according to an embodiment.
[0085] Reference Figures 2 to 8 The control unit 180 may extract (eg, may determine) the volume of each of the plurality of droplets DR based on the detected low resolution data ELD. The control unit 180 may include a machine learning unit 181 and a volume extraction unit 182.
[0086] First, refer to Figures 3 to 5 , the sampled low-resolution data SLD and the sampled high-resolution data SHD can be input into the machine learning unit 181, so that the correlation between the sampled low-resolution data SLD and the sampled high-resolution data SHD can be learned by the machine learning unit 181 (for example, it can be machine learning).
[0087] The data input to the machine learning unit 181 is data measured in advance after the droplet ejecting unit 140 ejects the droplet DR. For example, the sampled low-resolution data SLD and the sampled high-resolution data SHD are previously measured data.
[0088] The sampling low-resolution data SLD may be data including shapes of a plurality of sampling low-resolution droplets SLDR For example, the sampling low-resolution data SLD may be data including shapes of each of the first sampling low-resolution droplet SLDR1, the second sampling low-resolution droplet SLDR2, and the third sampling low-resolution droplet SLDR3.
[0089] The sampling high-resolution data SHD may be data including the shape of a sampling high-resolution droplet SHDR corresponding to each of a plurality of sampling low-resolution droplets SLDR. The resolution and magnification of the sampling high-resolution data SHD may be higher than the resolution and magnification of the sampling low-resolution data SLD. Therefore, the number of sampling low-resolution droplets SLDR included in the sampling low-resolution data SLD may be greater than the number of sampling high-resolution droplets SHDR included in the sampling high-resolution data SHD. For example, Figure 4 and Figure 5 As shown in , the number of sampling low-resolution droplets SLDR included in one sampling low-resolution data SLD may be three, and the number of sampling high-resolution droplets SHDR included in one sampling high-resolution data SHD may be one.
[0090] However, the number of sampled high-resolution data SHD may correspond to the number of sampled low-resolution droplets SLDR. Figure 5 Only the Figure 4 The first sampled low-resolution droplet SLDR1 in the image corresponds to a sampled high-resolution data SHD. Figure 4 As shown in , when three sampled low-resolution droplets SLDR are provided, three sampled high-resolution data SHD can be provided.
[0091] The machine learning unit 181 may include a sampling data input unit 1811 and a model type generator 1812 .
[0092] The sampled low-resolution data SLD and the sampled high-resolution data SHD may be input to the sampled data input unit 1811. The sampled low-resolution data SLD input to the sampled data input unit 1811 may be plural. In addition, the sampled high-resolution data SHD input to the sampled data input unit 1811 may be plural as in the sampled low-resolution data SLD (e.g., in a number corresponding to the sampled low-resolution data SLD).
[0093] The model type generator 1812 may generate an up-scaling model by analyzing the correlation between the sampled low-resolution data SLD and the sampled high-resolution data SHD.
[0094] In such an embodiment, the model type generator 1812 may generate an upscaling model by inputting the sampled low-resolution data SLD as an independent variable and by inputting the sampled high-resolution data SHD as a dependent variable and analyzing the correlation between the sampled low-resolution data SLD and the sampled high-resolution data SHD.
[0095] Reference Figure 2 , Figure 3 as well as Figures 6 to 8The volume extraction unit 182 can extract (for example, can determine by correcting (for example, by amplifying) the detected low-resolution data ELD into enlarged high-resolution data UHD) the volumes of multiple droplets DR based on the result of the learning performed by the machine learning unit 181.
[0096] Here, the detected low-resolution data ELD may be data actually detected by the detection unit 150. The detected low-resolution data ELD may be data including the shapes of a plurality of detected low-resolution droplets ELDR. For example, the number of detected low-resolution droplets ELDR may be equal to Figure 4 For example, the detection low-resolution data ELD may be data including the shape of each of the first detection low-resolution droplet ELDR1, the second detection low-resolution droplet ELDR2, and the third detection low-resolution droplet ELDR3.
[0097] The upscaled high-resolution data UHD may be data obtained by correcting (eg, by upscaling) the detection low-resolution data ELD. The upscaled high-resolution data UHD may have a resolution higher than that of the detection low-resolution data ELD.
[0098] The volume extraction unit 182 may include an amplification unit 1821 and a volume calculation unit 1822 .
[0099] The amplification unit 1821 can amplify the detected low-resolution data ELD into the amplified high-resolution data UHD by substituting (or inputting) the detected low-resolution data ELD into the amplified model. When the detected low-resolution data ELD is substituted into the amplified model, the resolution and amplification rate of the detected low-resolution droplet ELDR can be improved. Figure 7 As shown in , the resolution can be improved (eg, only improved) by adjusting the magnification again.
[0100] The volume calculation unit 1822 may calculate the volume of each of the plurality of droplets DR by extracting a plurality of three-dimensional images of the plurality of droplets DR based on the enlarged high-resolution data UHD. Figure 8As shown in , the volume extraction unit 182 can calculate the three-dimensional shape of the enlarged high-resolution droplet UHDR based on the enlarged high-resolution data UHD by rotating the outer surface of the enlarged high-resolution droplet UHDR based on the falling path of the enlarged high-resolution droplet UHDR. Here, the falling path of the enlarged high-resolution droplet UHDR may be the central axis of the enlarged high-resolution droplet UHDR. In addition, the volume extraction unit 182 can calculate the volume of the droplet DR by using the three-dimensional shape of the enlarged high-resolution droplet UHDR.
[0101] For example, the volume extraction unit 182 may rotate the first enlarged high-resolution droplet UHDR1 around the first central axis CL1, the second enlarged high-resolution droplet UHDR2 around the second central axis CL2, and the third enlarged high-resolution droplet UHDR3 around the third central axis CL3, thereby calculating the volume of each of the three droplets DR.

[0109] Volume extraction (240) may include amplification (241) and volume calculation (242). Amplification (241) may be a process in which an amplification unit (see, e.g., Figure 3 1821 in the example) is an operation of upscaling the detected low resolution data ELD into the upscaled high resolution data UHD by substituting (or inputting) the detected low resolution data ELD into the upscaled model MD. The volume calculation (242) may be an operation in which the volume calculation unit (see, for example, Figure 3 1822) is an operation of calculating the volume of each of the plurality of droplets DR by extracting a three-dimensional image of the plurality of droplets DR based on the enlarged high-resolution data UHD.
