DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0016] Thus, the present disclosure contemplates systems and methods for portable multi-functional air conditioning in all environments.
[0017] In order to promote the understanding of the principles of the present disclosure, the embodiments shown in the accompanying drawings will now be referred to and specific language will be used to describe the embodiments. However, it should be understood that it is not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure. Any changes and further modifications to the described devices, instruments, methods and any further applications of the principles of the present disclosure are fully considered, as the technical personnel of the field of the present disclosure would normally think of. In addition, the present disclosure describes some elements or features in detail with respect to one or more embodiments or the accompanying drawings, and when these elements or features appear in subsequent figures, there is no such detailed description.
[0018] Figure 1 1 is a perspective view of a portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 that can be used in all environments according to an example of the present disclosure. The portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 includes a box 101 having a body 102 and a cover 104. The cover 104 can be hingedly connected to the body 102 to provide selective access to the storage 102 ( Figure 2 104). The cover 104 may be connected in other ways, for example, the cover 104 may slide onto the body 102, or the body 102 may have other configurations such as a clamshell opening. The body 102 and the cover 104 may include molded plastic or other suitable materials. The box 101 may be configured to provide functions that are beneficial to coolers, ice chests, and other outdoor equipment. In one example, a molded beverage holder 106 may be defined in the cover 104. In some examples, the drain 108 may be accessible from the outside of the body 102, and the drain is configured to drain liquid from the box 101. The cover 104 may be latched or locked to the body 102 to keep the contents of the box 101 secured and cooled.
[0019] The portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 can be moved by wheels 110 and / or towing handles 112. The arrangement of wheels 110 and towing handles 112 may be different from that shown. The number of wheels 110 and towing handles 112 may be more or less than that shown. In some examples, the towing handles 112 are stored against the main body 102 when not in use. The towing handles 112 may be hinged outward to allow a part of the main body 102 to be lifted. Once a part of the main body 102 is lifted, pulling the towing handles 112 will allow the wheels 110 to move. Additional handles may be included on the box 101. In some examples, a lid handle 114 may be coupled to the lid to allow the user to open and close the lid 104. In some examples, a lifting handle 116 may be coupled to the main body and allow the user to carry and transport the box 101.
[0020] Box 101 can be configured to hold liquid, air and other objects, such as ice, beverages, food, ice packs, etc. In some examples, the main body 102 of box 101 has a reservoir 103 for holding liquid, air, and / or other objects. Reservoir 103 can be defined by a liner separated from main body 102. In some examples, main body 102 itself defines reservoir 103. Similar to main body 102 and lid 104, reservoir can be molded plastic or another suitable material. In some examples, main body 102 is insulated by an insulator (not shown) between all or part of main body 102 and reservoir 103. Insulator can be foam or other suitable materials. In some examples, portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 can also be used as a beverage cooler or refrigerator, which may require additional structure or organization of the internal parts of reservoir 103.
[0021] In some examples, warm air is drawn into the reservoir 103 of the portable multi-functional air conditioner 100 through at least one inlet 118. The at least one inlet 118 can be located at the junction of the cover 104 and the body 102. Even when a large amount of ice, liquid, food, beverage, or other object is located in the reservoir 103, such a position can allow at least one inlet 118 to be hidden in a plan view and allow air to enter the box 101. In some examples, the inlet 118 is located at the front of the box, and the other inlet 118 is located on the side of the box opposite to the fan. The inlet is located away from the fan 304 and opposite to the fan (such as Figure 3 ) ensures that air flows through the cold objects within the reservoir 103. As the air moves through these cold objects, the temperature of the warm air begins to decrease, and the air then continues through the rest of the system.
[0022] In some examples, at least one inlet 118 can be configured to allow air to enter the box 101 when the system applies suction (e.g., when a fan draws air from the box 101), but prevent air from leaving the box 101 when the suction is reduced (e.g., when the fan is turned off). In this sense, at least one inlet 118 can act as a one-way valve. At least one inlet 118 of this nature ensures that cool air within the box 101 does not escape, thereby increasing the time required for ice within the box 101 to melt.
[0023] The tank 101 may have an outlet port 120, a flexible tube 122, and an exhaust port 124 that facilitate the movement of cooled air and / or liquid out of the tank 101. These features will be referred to below. Figure 3 Discuss in more detail.
[0024] Figure 2 1 is a perspective view of a case 101 of a portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 that can be used in all environments according to an example of the present disclosure. As shown, two hinges 214 can span the interior of the reservoir 103 and the exterior of the body 102 and be hingedly connected to the cover 104. More or less than two hinges 214 can be used to attach the cover 104 to the case 101. Other forms of attachment are also possible, including those described above with reference to Figure 1 Descriptive form.
[0025] In some examples, the body 102 can be molded to receive an axle 200 attached to the wheel 110. The wheel 110 can be attached to the axle 200 by a bushing 202. The wheel 110 can be held in place by a cap 204. In some examples, the wheel 110 can be detached from the body 102, rather than being integrated as shown. In some examples, the discharge 108 has a discharge body 206 that passes from the inside of the reservoir 103 to the outside of the body 102. The discharge body 206 can be held in place by a washer 208 and a nut 210. A discharge plug 212 can be provided for opening and closing the discharge 108.
[0026] Liquid, air and other objects can be kept by the storage 103. Depending on the circumstances, the storage 103 can keep ice, beverages, liquids (e.g., water), food and other objects. When filling the storage 103 with ice, the thermal insulation properties of the portable multifunctional air conditioner can keep the ice in a solid state for an extended period of time. When air passes through the box, the ice or other cooling objects in the storage 103 will cool the warm air sucked into the box 101. Air can also be cooled by the system and method described herein. It should be understood that the portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 can also be filled with hot liquids or objects alternatively and used during cold weather to discharge warm air and / or warm liquid.
[0027] In some examples, pump 216 is located within reservoir 103. To ensure that all fluid can be pumped out of reservoir 103, it may be advantageous to place pump 216 in the lower portion of reservoir 103. In some examples, pump 216 is used to move liquid from within reservoir 103 to cover 104. Specifically, pump 216 may move liquid from reservoir 103 to heat exchanger 218 ( Figure 3 In addition, pump 216 can move liquid to spray nozzle 220 (also shown in Figure 3 2 (shown in the figure) to be discharged from the tank 101. In some examples, in order to move the liquid from the reservoir 103 to the heat exchanger 218 or the spray nozzle 220, the pump moves the liquid through the liquid conduit 222. The liquid conduit 222 can branch into a heat exchanger inlet conduit 224 and a spray nozzle conduit 226. In some examples, there are more than one liquid conduit 222, wherein one of the liquid conduits 222 is used solely as a heat exchanger inlet conduit 224 and another of the liquid conduits 222 is used as a spray nozzle conduit. In such an example, one or more pumps can be used to move the fluid through the heat exchanger inlet conduit 224 and the spray nozzle conduit 226. Using more or fewer liquid conduits 222 can be beneficial to minimize pressure inconsistencies throughout the system. The pump 216 can be a 12-volt electric pump based on an impeller and can have a flow rate of approximately 3 liters per minute.
[0028] In some examples, the pump 216 is protected and / or held in place by a cover 228. The pump 216 can draw cooling liquid through an opening 229 in the cover 228. Both the pump 216 and the opening 229 can be near the lower portion of the cover 228 and located at a relatively low position in the reservoir 103. This allows the pump 216 to continuously access the cooling liquid in the reservoir 103, even if most of the liquid has left the tank 101. The cover 228 can be attached to the interior of the reservoir 101, and when the pump is installed, the pump 216 is located inside the cover 228. The cover 228 provides protection for the liquid conduit 222, which is attached to the pump 216 for moving the liquid to the heat exchanger 218 and / or the spray nozzle 220.
[0029] In some examples, the hood also provides protection for the return duct 230. The return duct 230 may travel all or part of the length of the hood 228 before exiting. In some examples, the length of the return duct 230 extends away from the hood 228 to return the liquid to a distance away from the pump 216. The return duct 230 may return the liquid to the reservoir 103 after the liquid has passed through the heat exchanger 218. This allows for a continuous heat exchange system whereby the fins of the heat exchanger 218 are continuously supplied with new cooling liquid for transferring heat away from the warm air. It may be advantageous to return the liquid away from the pump 216 so that the liquid can mix with the rest of the liquid in the reservoir 103 and reduce its temperature before being pumped into the heat exchanger 218 again. In some examples, the liquid in the return duct 230 may pass through another heat exchanger before returning to the reservoir 103, as described below with reference to Figure 6 In other examples, it may be desirable for the liquid passing through the heat exchanger 218 to interoperate with other functions of the portable multi-function air conditioner 100 (eg, the spray nozzles described herein).
[0030] In some examples, the opening 229 is configured to filter and prevent debris present within the reservoir 103 from entering the fluid conduit 222. Alternatively, a separate filter (similar to the following Figure 3 ) can be used to filter the liquid before it enters the heat exchanger 218 and / or the spray nozzle conduit 226. The filter can be positioned along the liquid conduit 222 so that the liquid is filtered before it is split between the heat exchanger entering conduit 224 and the spray nozzle conduit 226.
[0031] From the foregoing, it will be appreciated that the cover 228 safely stores and routes the pump 216, liquid conduit 222 and return conduit 230 and / or other components (e.g., filters) and conduits, particularly where the portable multi-function air conditioner 100 is also used as a beverage cooler or the like.
[0032] Figure 3 1 is an exploded perspective view of a cover 104 of a portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 that can be used in all environments according to an example of the present disclosure. The cover 104 may include an upper housing 300 that is assembled with a lower housing 302. In some examples, the upper housing 300 and the lower housing 302 may include molded plastic materials and may be assembled together via fasteners, interference fits, electronic welding or other means. The main function of the cover is to maintain a large number of components associated with the air cooling and / or heating functions of the portable multifunctional air conditioner 100. Similar to the box 101, the cover 104 may include an insulator (not shown) located between all or part of the upper housing 300 and the lower housing 302. The insulator may be foam or other suitable materials.
[0033] In some examples, the heat exchanger 218 can be attached to the lower housing 302 and / or the upper housing 300. The heat exchanger 218 can be made of aluminum or another material with good thermal conductivity properties. Figure 2 The depicted pump 216 can move cooling liquid (e.g., water) from the reservoir 103 through the liquid conduit 222, through the heat exchanger entry conduit 224, and into and through the heat exchanger 218. The cooling liquid can cool the fins of the heat exchanger 218, which allow heat transfer to occur between the heat exchanger 218 and the air passing through it. In some examples, the exchanger cover 306 can protect and surround the heat exchanger 218 to filter the air as it travels through the heat exchanger 218 and prevent clogging and / or accumulation on the heat exchanger 218. After the cooling liquid passes through the heat exchanger 218, the cooling liquid can be returned to the reservoir 103 through the return conduit 230.
[0034] In some examples, a fan 304 is housed between the upper housing 300 and the lower housing 302. The fan 304 can be an electronic fan. The fan 304 can be positioned adjacent to the heat exchanger 218 so that the fan can draw / push air from within the reservoir 103 through the heat exchanger 218. As the air passes through the heat exchanger 218, the air will dissipate heat to the fins due to the temperature difference between the heat exchanger 218 and the air. In some examples (e.g., cold weather), in the case of using warm liquid to condition the air, the heat exchanger 218 containing the warm liquid will dissipate heat to the air so that a warm air flow can be sent from the box 101. In some examples, multiple heat exchangers or reversible / dual-function heat exchangers can be used to implement both cooling and heating functions.
[0035] After drawing / pushing the air into the heat exchanger 218, the fan 304 can further direct the conditioned air and discharge the conditioned air through the outlet port 120 defined in the cover 104. The outlet port 120 can be defined by other components of the box 101 or the cover 104 and can be positioned in a different position than shown. In some examples, the outlet port 120 can be located on an upper portion of one side of the box 101 to direct the air laterally outward at an object located nearby. Depending on where the conditioned air is desired to be directed, the outlet port 120 can take a variety of forms. For example, Figure 1 As shown, the outlet port 120 can be curved so that the conditioned air is directed across the top of the cover 104. In some examples, it may be desirable to direct the conditioned air upward or laterally away from the cover 104. The diameter and shape of the outlet port 120 will affect the pressure and shape of the airflow leaving the box. For example, a smaller outlet port 120 can produce a higher pressure and discharge air at a higher velocity.
[0036] The fan 304 can be a 12 volt DC fan with a capacity of 226 cubic feet per minute. In some examples, the fan 304 can be modified from a 105mm PC chassis fan, derived from another fan, or it can be a custom fan configured to be used with the portable multifunctional air conditioner 100. Depending on the battery and control panel used, the fan 304 can also be an AC fan. The fan 304 can be located at various positions around the cover 104. In some examples, the fan 304 is located above the heat exchanger 218 and draws air from the reservoir 103 through the heat exchanger 218. In some examples, the fan 304 is located below the heat exchanger 218 and pushes air from the reservoir 103 through the heat exchanger 218.
[0037] exist Figure 3 In the example shown, fan 304 and heat exchanger 218 are kept in cover 104. Heat exchanger 218 and fan 304 can be attached to cover 104. For example, heat exchanger 218 can be attached to the inside of cover 104, and fan 304 is positioned in cover 104. It can be advantageous to position heat exchanger 218 inside cover 104 so that it is directly connected to reservoir 103. The heat transfer occurring between heat exchanger 218 and the air passing through heat exchanger 218 may cause condensation to occur. When heat exchanger 218 is directly connected to reservoir, condensate can be directly dripped back into reservoir, and fluid can be recirculated in the whole system. However, it should be understood that in other examples, it can be advantageous that fan 304 and heat exchanger 218 are located in another part of portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 (for example, located in reservoir 103).
[0038] In some examples, a flexible tube 122 can be connected to the outlet port 120 to further direct the discharged air flow in a user-preferred direction. The flexible tube 122 can have any desired length and can be detached from the outlet port 120. The user can manipulate the orientation of the flexible tube 122 by hand. In some examples, the orientation of the flexible tube 122 can be controlled electronically or automatically. In some examples, the flexible tube can move back and forth like a fan or swing between orientations to repeatedly provide air-conditioned air in multiple directions. The flexible tube 122 can be connected to the outlet port 120 in a variety of ways, for example, the flexible tube 122 can be snapped into place or can be slid into the outlet port 120 and fixed under the compression from the outlet port 120.
[0039] In some examples, the flexible tube 122 can be connected to an air well 312 that can include an exhaust port 124. Similar to the outlet port 120, the flexible tube 122 and the air well 312 can be connected in a variety of ways so that the user can easily connect and disconnect the flexible tube and the air well to switch between functions and configurations. The air well 312 can also guide air in a specific direction and cause the air to leave from the exhaust port 124. The exhaust port 124 can variably control the amount of air and the angle of air discharge. For example, the exhaust port 124 can have a rotatable gate that controls the angle and amount of the discharged air. In some examples, the flexible tube 122 can be extended and retracted. For example, when the flexible tube 122 is connected to both the outlet port 120 and the exhaust port 124, the flexible tube is in a retracted position. When the flexible tube 122 is disconnected from the air well 312, the flexible tube 122 can be extended to a variety of lengths, so that the air pushed through the flexible tube 122 can travel a longer distance before being discharged to a specific location.
[0040] The portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 is not only capable of discharging temperature-controlled and humidity-controlled air, but also capable of spraying and atomizing liquid droplets. This feature expands the functionality and capabilities of the system. When combined with the aforementioned features, the portable multifunctional air conditioner is a multifunctional air conditioner system that can be used in all environments. In some examples, the cooling liquid drawn upward by the liquid conduit 222 can also travel through the spray nozzle conduit 226 to be discharged through the spray nozzle 220. The discharged air can be mixed with the discharged liquid, which further regulates the air. In some examples, the spray pump 318, such as a high-pressure pump, can move the liquid out of the spray nozzle 220 from the liquid conduit 222 and the spray nozzle conduit 226. The spray nozzle 220 is configured to spray liquid mist. According to certain variables within the system, the preferred orifice diameter of the spray nozzle 220 can be in the range of 0.05mm to 0.35mm, for example, 0.05mm, 0.1mm, 0.15mm, 0.2mm, 0.25mm, 0.3mm or 0.35mm. Changing the orifice diameter of the spray nozzle 220 may affect, among other things, the spray radius and / or droplet size of the discharged liquid.
[0041] In some examples, the spray pump 318 can be located in a compartment 319 recessed in the cover 104. To ensure that the spray pump 318 remains dry and can function in all environments, the compartment 319 can be provided with a compartment cover 321. A cover seal 323 (e.g., a gasket, an O-ring, etc.) can be provided to seal the compartment cover 321 over the spray pump 318 in the compartment 319. The compartment cover 321 can be removably secured to the cover by screws or other means to allow replacement of the spray pump 318 or other components in the compartment 319.
[0042] In some examples, the spray nozzle conduit 226 extends out of the outlet port 120 and through the flexible tube 122 to the distal end of the flexible tube 122. In some examples, similar to the flexible tube 122, the spray nozzle conduit 226 can expand and retract as the flexible tube 122 expands and retracts when the flexible tube is disconnected from the air well 312 or the outlet port 120. In other examples, the spray nozzle conduit 226 exits the box 101 from an outlet port different from the outlet port 120. The spray nozzle 220 can be fixed and centered around the circumference of the flexible tube 122. Centering the spray nozzle 220 around the circumference of the flexible tube 122 can ensure that the liquid in the spray is symmetrically and evenly sprayed outward when coupled with the air flow flowing through the flexible tube 122. In some examples, the spray nozzle 220 can be fixed to one side of the flexible tube 122. The spray nozzle 220 may extend beyond the distal end of the flexible tube 122 or may stop short of the end of the distal end of the flexible tube 122 so that the spray nozzle is hidden from view. When the spray nozzle 220 extends through the flexible tube 122 and / or is secured to the distal end of the flexible tube 122, it prevents excess liquid from stagnating within the flexible tube 122, thereby minimizing mold, mildew, and other difficulties caused by stagnant liquid within a confined space.
[0043] In some examples, spray nozzle conduit 226 need not run through flexible tube 122 but may be positioned separately from flexible tube 122 so that air in flexible tube 122 and sprayed liquid from spray nozzle 220 may be directed in different directions.
[0044] In some examples, a filter 320 may be included to filter the liquid traveling through the spray nozzle conduit 226. The filter 320 may filter the liquid in the spray nozzle conduit 226 before the liquid reaches the spray pump 318. The filter 320 may include a paper filter element. Other types of filters may be used. In some examples, the filter 320 is located in the compartment 319 next to the spray pump 318. By filtering the liquid before the liquid reaches the spray pump 318 and before the liquid reaches the spray nozzle 220, the spray nozzle 220 and / or the spray pump 318 may be prevented from clogging and their lifespans may be extended before the spray nozzle and / or the spray pump need to be cleaned or replaced. In the example shown, the spray nozzle 220 is removable and replaceable. The spray nozzle 220 may be rotatably coupled to a fixture (not shown) that connects the spray nozzle conduit 226 to the distal end of the flexible tube 122. If the spray nozzle 220 is clogged, dirty or worn, the removable nature of the spray nozzle 220 allows a new nozzle to be used. In some examples, such as when spray nozzle conduit 226 is not secured to flexible tube 122 , spray nozzle 220 is rotatably coupled directly to spray nozzle conduit 226 .
[0045] In some examples, the spray nozzle 220 is adjustable so that the diameter of the spray and / or the size of the liquid droplets vary depending on the application. In some examples, the spray nozzle 220 does not spray the liquid or atomize the liquid in a spray, but sprays the liquid in a continuous stream. This is desirable for cooling an object at a faster rate or for a certain aesthetic effect. In some examples, the liquid stream from the spray nozzle 220 can be similar to a stream from a hose or a spray gun.
[0046] The spray and atomization functions of portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 can occur simultaneously with the air conditioning function or occur separately. When occurring together, the air stream discharged from box 101 can help to carry and spread the mist liquid farther than usual. This allows the liquid of spray to cover a larger area, thereby more reliably and continuously alleviate environmental dangers. Can guide the directable cold and wet air flow along any direction that the user expects, to alleviate the danger of hot weather suffered by the object, or create a more comfortable environment, even if there is no danger at present. As described further below, spray and air functions do not need to be performed together.
[0047] In some examples, compartment 319 may also house a battery 322 or other power source. The battery may be located elsewhere (e.g., in reservoir 103, attached to the exterior of lid 104, etc.). Figure 3 In the example shown, the battery 322 can be removably attached to one or more battery terminals 324 fixed to the compartment cover 321. The battery 322 can be a rechargeable battery based on nickel-cadmium, nickel-metal hydride, lithium or other battery technology. The battery 322 can have a charging indicator indicating the charge level of the battery 322. In some examples, when the user presses a button, the charge level is indicated by the illumination of one or more LEDs. Other forms of charging indicators can be implemented. In some examples, the battery 322 is a 12-volt battery with a capacity of 10,000 mAh. An A / C or DIC adapter (not shown) can also be provided to charge the battery 322 and / or power the portable multi-function air conditioner 100. The compartment 319 can be configured to receive a plurality of disposable batteries, such as flashlight batteries, D-type batteries, etc.
[0048] In some examples, such as Figure 3As shown, the control panel 326 is at least partially housed within the upper housing 300 and / or the lower housing 302. The control panel 326 allows a user to provide input and control the functions and settings of the portable multi-function air conditioner 100. The control panel 326 may include buttons 328 for selecting various settings, which activate and deactivate various components of the system (e.g., the fan 304, the heat exchanger 218, the spray pump 318, the pump 216, the spray nozzle 220, etc.). The control panel 326 can be accessed from the outside of the lid 104. In some examples, the control panel can be accessed when the lid 104 of the box 101 is open. The control panel can also be located in the body 102 of the box. The control panel can be operated remotely or via a wired controller, rather than at the box 101, as described with reference to FIG. Figure 4 Describe in more detail.
[0049] In some examples, the speed of the fan 304 is variable. The speed of the fan 304 can have three or more speed settings, such as a low speed setting, a medium speed setting, and a high speed setting. In addition, the fan 304 can be set to blow air for a period of time, such as 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour, etc.
[0050] In some examples, the air cooling rate implemented by the heat exchanger 218 is variable. For example, one or more buttons 328 on the control panel 326 can activate the "extreme cold" function to increase the air conditioning capacity and maximize the temperature difference between the air discharged from the box and the ambient temperature. When the "extreme cold" setting is activated, the pump 216 can be turned on. When the pump 216 is turned on, the rate at which the heat exchanger circulates the cooling liquid through the heat exchanger 218 can be increased or maximized, thereby increasing the heat transferred from the air to the surface area on the heat exchanger 218. If "extreme cold" is not needed or expected, the "extreme cold" setting can be deactivated and the rate at which the pump 216 draws the cooling liquid into the heat exchanger 218 can be reduced or stopped. When the heat exchanger 218 circulates the cooling liquid at a slower rate, the air will not be cooled to the same extent. However, using less cooling liquid or not using cooling liquid in the box 101 will extend the amount of time that any ice remains frozen or cold objects remain at a low temperature. In some examples, the cooling rate can be selected with a dial, or there can be any number of cooling settings. The variability and versatility of these and other aspects of the portable multi-function air conditioner 100 allow for functionality and successful use in all climates and environments.
[0051] The control panel can be designed in a waterproof and weatherproof manner to allow the portable multi-function air conditioner 100 to be safely used outdoors and in all environments. The control panel 326 can be sealed to the upper housing 300 via a control panel seal 332 (eg, gasket, O-ring, etc.).
[0052] In some examples, the control panel 326 is equipped with any number of ports / connectors 330 (e.g., USB ports, DC connectors, coaxial connectors, etc.) to charge a mobile device or other device. This charging function increases the versatility of the portable multi-functional air conditioner 100. Due to the heat-insulating properties of the box 101, ice can remain frozen in the storage 103 for many days. In some cases, the time that the ice can remain frozen can exceed the time that the mobile device can remain charged. In the case of using the portable multi-functional air conditioner 100 for an extended period of time, such as when camping or at a sports game, it is advantageous to be able to charge the device without having to return from a remote location.
[0053] In some examples, the pump 216, the spray pump 318, the fan 304, the heat exchanger 218, and / or other electrical components may be powered by a power source. The power source may be located in the cover 104 or elsewhere. It may be necessary to connect the power connector 232 ( Figure 2 ) are wired from the power supply and control panel 326 to the various components.
[0054] Specifically, relative to the pump 216, which may be located in the lower portion of the reservoir 103, the power connector 232 may need to travel a distance to the lower portion of the reservoir 103. The power connector 232 may be in the form of a power cord. Figure 2 The power connector 232 may be provided with a cover 228 (shown) which may be defined by an upper portion of the cover 228 for passing a power connector 232 downward from the power source. In some examples, where the cover 228 is located near the hinge 214, the hinge may be used as a form of protection for the power connector 232. Other locations and methods for supplying power to various components are feasible. For example, the power connector 232 may extend within the body 102 to reach the pump 216 in the lower portion of the reservoir 103. Such a configuration may provide protection for the power connector 232. With respect to the spray pump 318, another power connector 232 may travel from the power source and control panel 326 into the compartment 319 to connect to the spray pump 318.
[0055] Figure 41 is a schematic diagram of a portable multifunctional air conditioner 400 that can be used in all environments according to an example of the present disclosure. As shown, a control panel 326 can be attached to a battery 322. A power connector 232 can connect the control panel 326 to a pump 216 located in the lower portion of the reservoir 103. The power connector 232 can also connect the control panel 326 to a spray pump 318. In addition, the power connector 232 can connect the control panel 326 to a fan 304. The reservoir 103 is filled with ice and a cooling liquid that is produced by melting ice. The liquid conduit 222 extends from the pump 216 and is divided into two separate conduits, namely a heat exchanger inlet conduit 224 and a spray nozzle conduit 226. The heat exchanger 218 is filled with cooling liquid from the heat exchanger inlet conduit 224. After the cooling liquid circulates through the heat exchanger 218, it can return to the reservoir 103 from the heat exchanger 218 through the return conduit 230. The fan 304 draws air from the reservoir 103 and pushes the air through the heat exchanger 218. The fan 304 can be located on either side of the heat exchanger 218. For example, when the heat exchanger 218 is located between the reservoir 103 and the fan 304, the fan draws air from the reservoir 103 and passes the air through the heat exchanger 218. When the cold air passes through the heat exchanger 218, the air dissipates heat to the heat exchanger 218 and becomes colder. The cold air can be discharged from the box 101 through the outlet port 120. The flexible tube 122 connected to the outlet port 120 guides the cold air in the desired direction. At the same time, the liquid in the spray nozzle conduit 226 moves through the filter 320. The spray pump 318 pushes the liquid out of the spray nozzle 220 forcefully. The cold air leaving the flexible tube 122 is coupled with the spray from the spray nozzle 220, thereby generating a continuous wet cold airflow.
[0056] As referenced above Figure 3 Described, control panel 326 comprises one or more buttons, is used for selecting and controlling the multiple functions of portable multifunctional air conditioner 100.Control panel 326 can be integrated into box 101.It should be understood that control panel 326 is not limited to buttons.Other types of switches can provide similar control (e.g., knob, switch, rocker and / or toggle switch, etc.).Control panel 326 can act as a variable switch between battery 322 and fan 304, to provide variable amount of power or current to each component via power connector 232.In this regard, control panel 326 can be used as a switch between battery 322 and various components. However, control panel 326 can also be used as a part of relay circuit. In some examples, control panel 326 and / or battery 322 can provide a certain level of power or current to pump and fan, to keep the system running effectively and continuously provide cooling or heated liquid to heat exchanger. In some examples, control panel 326 can also selectively control the speed of pump 216 and spray pump 318.
[0057] Alternatively, wired remote controller 402 can control multiple functions. In addition, in some examples, wireless remote controller 404 can use wireless communication technology to control multiple functions. Wired remote controller 402 and wireless remote controller 404 can be used to replace control panel 326 or as an additional solution of control panel. Remote operation allows the user to control the system without being nearby or having to completely divert attention from another task. For example, portable multi-function air conditioner 100 can be controlled from the driver's seat of a vehicle, from a lawn chair, from the pilot's seat of an airplane, from the front seat of a golf cart, etc. Wireless remote controller 404 can provide controllability similar to wired remote controller 402 and control panel 326, but can be implemented in a more convenient way.
[0058] The portable multi-function air conditioner 100 described herein may include various conduits, hoses, and passages known to those skilled in the art suitable for conveying cooled and / or heated liquids.
[0059] It should be understood that in operation, the user can fill the portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 with ice, cold water, hot water or hot objects, which will be maintained by the insulating properties of the reservoir 103. Consider that the user can put beverages or other food into the reservoir 103. As long as the minimum volume of liquid is allowed to remain in the reservoir 103, the liquid can be pumped by the pump 216 to the heat exchanger 218, where the fan 304 can use the liquid to change the temperature of the air. Then, the conditioned air and water mist can be directed to the user's desired location via the outlet port 120, the flexible tube 122, the air well 312 and / or the exhaust port 124.
[0060] The portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 described herein can be wheeled or carried to a desired location and can be activated to provide a cooling function. Since the portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 utilizes the cooling capacity of ice and / or water stored internally, the cooling capacity may drop to an unacceptable level within a period of time. However, the user can add more ice and / or discharge some existing liquids via the discharge portion 108. A typical ice storage cooler needs to discharge water at the end of its use. However, using the system and method described herein, the liquid from the box will be discharged in the form of a spray or a mist. Therefore, the need to discharge liquid from the ice cooler is eliminated or significantly reduced.
[0061] Throughout this disclosure, the use of liquid for air cooling and spraying functions of portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 is discussed. In some cases, the liquid can be water or ice water. It should be understood that crushed ice or block ice can be used. In other examples, ice can be isolated from the liquid that allows flow. For example, cold packs, ice bags or even dry ice can be used to cool the liquid sent through heat exchanger 218 and other components for cooling air. In some examples, other effective coolants can be used, such as ethylene glycol mixtures. High-efficiency coolant can be isolated from the water in reservoir 103. When water is pumped to spray nozzle 220, high-efficiency coolant can circulate through radiator. This allows the system to utilize a coolant more effective than water to achieve cooling purposes while still allowing box 101 to be used as a refrigerator or beverage cooler.
[0062] In other cases, the liquid can be scented and / or contain various chemicals, such as DEET for repelling insects and other animals. Scented liquids can provide additional enjoyment or ambience. Other scents can be used to deter animals when camping. Similarly, insect repellent or sunscreen can be sprayed into the air or on a person. Compared to the usual method of applying insect repellent, the portable multi-function air conditioner 100 allows for convenient and comprehensive coverage. In some examples, in the case where the user desires to melt the ice in the cooler faster than the ambient temperature, the user can add salt to the reservoir 103 to speed up the process.
[0063] Figure 5 is a schematic diagram of a portable multifunctional air conditioner 500 that can be used in all environments according to an example of the present disclosure. The portable multifunctional air conditioner 500 may have Figures 1 to 4 The portable multi-functional air conditioner shown in FIG. 1 is similar in appearance and design to the portable multi-functional air conditioner shown in FIG. However, instead of using pump 216 to draw liquid from reservoir 103, another pump 502 may be used. Pump 502 may be a dedicated pump for driving water to spray nozzle 220. In some examples, spray pump 318 may or may not be required. Pump 502, which may be located in reservoir 103 near pump 216, may replace spray pump 318, which may be located in the cover. Employing two pumps 216 and pump 502 and having a separate heat exchanger inlet conduit 224 for cooling liquid and a separate spray nozzle conduit 226 for liquid sprayed from spray nozzle 220 may allow the system to more accurately maintain the pressure within conduits 226, 224 at a desired level. In addition, when using various coolants and when creating a closed system for cooling liquid when using an additional heat exchanger to re-cool the cooling liquid that has passed through the heat exchanger, it may be advantageous to maintain liquid separation between spray nozzle conduit 226 and heat exchanger inlet conduit 224, as will be described below. Figure 6 for a more comprehensive explanation.
[0064] Figure 6 is a schematic diagram of a portable multifunctional air conditioner 600 that can be used in all environments according to an example of the present disclosure. The portable multifunctional air conditioner 600 may have Figures 1 to 5 The portable multifunctional air conditioner shown in FIG. 1 is similar in appearance and design to the portable multifunctional air conditioner shown in FIG. However, instead of draining the liquid in the return conduit 230 directly into the reservoir 103, the liquid can be pushed through the second heat exchanger 602. The second heat exchanger 602 can be immersed in the reservoir 103 and exposed to the liquid and solid (e.g., water, ice, cold packs, etc.) therein. The liquid passing through the second heat exchanger 602 will be recooled before being pumped back to the heat exchanger 218 or returned to the reservoir 103 by the pump 216. For various reasons, it may be advantageous to isolate the liquid for cooling from the liquid accessible to the user. If other coolants are used, the coolant will not contaminate the water and ice in the box 101. Even when using cooling water, any contaminants from the radiator and / or pipes and tubes of the system will be prevented from mixing with other items by isolating the cooling water from other items in the box 101.
[0065] Figure 7 is an illustrative method 700 involving conditioning air in all environments using a multi-function air conditioner according to an example of the present disclosure. Figure 7 A method according to one example is shown, other examples may be omitted, added, reordered and / or modified Figure 7 The operation of the illustrative method 700 selectively implements the first adjustment function, the second adjustment function and / or the third adjustment function and other functions of the portable multi-function air conditioner described herein. The third adjustment function can be implemented by simultaneously implementing the first adjustment function and the second adjustment function. The selection of the first function, the second function and the third function can be based on the surrounding environment around the box 101 and other factors (e.g., user preferences), as explained below.
[0066] In some examples, the first conditioning function may be useful in a humid environment where the air is full of moisture to remove moisture from the air and control the temperature of the air. In this case, the second conditioning function including discharging liquid from the spray nozzle may be unnecessary or undesirable.
[0067] In some examples, the second conditioning function may be useful, for example, in a dry environment where the air lacks humidity and moisture, to spray liquid into the air and increase the humidity of the air. In this case, if the temperature of the air is comfortable, or the tank 101 is not filled with liquid, or has run out of liquid, the first conditioning function may not be necessary or desirable.
[0068] In some examples, the third conditioning function may be useful, for example, in hot / cold and dry environments where the air lacks humidity and moisture and the air is cold or hot, to humidify and control the temperature of the air at the same time.
[0069] In some examples, operation 702 includes selectively implementing the first function, the second function, and / or the third function, including receiving at least one of a plurality of inputs at a control panel of the portable multi-functional air conditioner 100. The at least one input may be provided by a user based on conditions of an ambient environment around the multi-functional air conditioner.
[0070] In some examples, such as Figure 3 As shown, the control panel 326 is at least partially contained in the upper housing 300 and / or the lower housing 302. The control panel 326 allows the user to control the functions and settings of the portable multifunctional air conditioner 100. The control panel 326 may include buttons 328 for selecting various settings, which activate and deactivate various components of the system (e.g., fan 304, heat exchanger 218, spray pump 318, pump 216, spray nozzle 220, etc.). The control panel 326 can be approached from the outside of the cover 104. In some examples, when the cover 104 of the box 101 is opened, the control panel 326 can be approached. The control panel 326 can also be located in the body 102 of the box. The control panel 326 can be integrated into the box 101. It should be understood that the control panel 326 is not limited to buttons. Other types of switches can provide similar controls (e.g., knobs, switches, rockers and / or toggle switches, etc.). The control panel 326 can act as a variable switch between the battery 322 and the fan 304 to provide a variable amount of power or current to each component via the power connector 232. In this regard, the control panel 326 can be used as a switch between the battery 322 and various components. However, the control panel 326 can also be used as a part of a relay circuit. In some examples, the control panel 326 and / or the battery 322 can provide a certain level of power or current to the pump and fan to keep the system running effectively and continuously provide cooling or heated liquid to the heat exchanger. In some examples, the control panel 326 can also selectively control the speed of the pump 216 and the spray pump 318.
[0071] The control panel 326 can be operated remotely or via a wired controller, rather than being operated at the box 101. The wired remote control 402 can control a variety of functions. In addition, in some examples, the wireless remote control 404 can use wireless communication technology to control a variety of functions. The wired remote control 402 and the wireless remote control 404 can be used instead of the control panel 326 or as an additional solution to the control panel. Remote operation allows the user to control the system without having to be nearby or completely diverting attention from another task.
[0072] In some examples, operation 704 includes moving air through the contents held in the reservoir 103. This operation can be implemented using a fan 304. In some examples, warm air is drawn into the reservoir 103 of the portable multi-functional air conditioner 100 via at least one inlet 118 by the fan 304. At least one inlet 118 can be located at the junction of the cover 104 and the body 102. Such a location can allow at least one inlet 118 to be hidden in a plan view, and even when a large amount of ice, liquid, food, beverage or other objects are located in the reservoir 103, air is allowed to enter the box 101. When the air moves through these cold objects and cold liquids, the temperature of the warm air begins to decrease, and then continues to pass through the rest of the entire system.
[0073] In some examples, at least one inlet 118 can be configured to allow air to enter the box 101 when the system applies suction (e.g., when a fan draws air from within the box 101), but prevent air from leaving the box 101 when the suction is reduced (e.g., when the fan is turned off). In this sense, the inlet 118 can act as a one-way valve. An inlet 118 of this nature ensures that cool air within the box 101 does not escape, thereby increasing the time required for ice within the box 101 to melt.
[0074] In some examples, operation 706 includes moving a first portion of the liquid held in reservoir 103 through heat exchanger 218. Figure 2 The depicted pump 216 can move cooling liquid (e.g., water) from the reservoir 103 through the liquid conduit 222, through the heat exchanger inlet conduit 224, and into and through the heat exchanger 218. The cooling liquid can thereby cool the fins of the heat exchanger 218, which allow heat transfer to occur between the heat exchanger 218 and the air passing through the heat exchanger. After the cooling liquid passes through the heat exchanger 218, the cooling liquid can be returned to the reservoir 103 through the return conduit 230.
[0075] In some examples, operation 708 includes moving the air held in the reservoir 103 through the heat exchanger 218 using the fan 304 to condition the air. In some examples, the fan 304 is housed between the upper housing 300 and the lower housing 302. The fan 304 can be positioned proximate to the heat exchanger 218 so that the fan can draw / push air from within the reservoir 103 through the heat exchanger 218. As the air passes through the heat exchanger 218, the air will dissipate heat toward the fins due to the temperature difference between the heat exchanger 218 and the air.
[0076] In some examples, operation 710 includes using fan 304 to discharge conditioned air through outlet port 120 in the multi-function air conditioner. Outlet port 120 can be defined by other components of box 101 or cover 104 and can be located in a different position than shown. In some examples, outlet port 120 can be located on an upper portion of one side of box 101 to direct air laterally outward to an object located nearby. Outlet port 120 can take a variety of forms depending on where it is desired to direct the conditioned air. For example, Figure 1 As shown, outlet port 120 may be curved so that conditioned air is directed across the top of cover 104. In some examples, it may be desirable to direct conditioned air away from cover 104 upward or laterally.
[0077] In some examples, operation 712 includes discharging a second portion of the liquid through the spray nozzle 220 using at least one pump. For example, the cooling liquid drawn upward through the liquid conduit 222 may also travel through the spray nozzle conduit 226 to be discharged through the spray nozzle 220. In some examples, a spray pump 318, such as a high pressure pump, may move the liquid from the liquid conduit 222 and the spray nozzle conduit 226 out of the spray nozzle 220. In some examples, the spray pump 318 may be located in a compartment 319 in the recessed cover 104. The spray nozzle 220 is configured to spray a mist of the cooling liquid. In some examples, the spray nozzle conduit 226 extends out of the outlet port 120 and passes through the flexible tube 122 to the distal end of the flexible tube 122. In some examples, similar to the flexible tube 122, the spray nozzle conduit 226 may expand and retract as the flexible tube 122 expands and retracts when the flexible tube is disconnected from the air well 312 or the outlet port 120. In other examples, the spray nozzle conduit 226 exits the box 101 from an outlet port different from the outlet port 120. The spray nozzle 220 may be fixed and centered around the circumference of the flexible tube 122. Centering the spray nozzle 220 around the circumference of the flexible tube 122 can ensure that the liquid in the form of a spray is symmetrically and evenly sprayed outward when coupled with the air flow flowing through the flexible tube 122. In some examples, the spray nozzle 220 may be fixed to one side of the flexible tube 122. The spray nozzle 220 may extend beyond the distal end of the flexible tube 122 or may stop at a position that does not reach the end of the distal end of the flexible tube 122 so that it is hidden from view. When the spray nozzle 220 extends through the flexible tube 122 and / or is fixed to the distal end of the flexible tube 122, it prevents excess liquid from stagnating within the flexible tube 122, thereby minimizing mold, mildew, and other difficulties caused by stagnant liquid in a confined space. In some examples, spray nozzle conduit 226 need not run through flexible tube 122 and may be positioned separately from flexible tube 122 so that air in flexible tube 122 and liquid in a spray from spray nozzle 220 may be directed in different directions.
[0078] In some examples, the speed of the fan 304 is variable. In some examples, the air cooling rate implemented by the heat exchanger 218 is variable. For example, one or more buttons 328 on the control panel 326 can activate the "extreme cold" setting to increase the air conditioning capacity and maximize the temperature difference between the air discharged from the box and the ambient temperature. When "extreme cold" is not needed or expected, the "extreme cold" setting can be deactivated and the rate at which the pump 216 draws the cooling liquid into the heat exchanger 218 can be reduced or stopped. When the heat exchanger 218 is circulated through the cooling liquid at a slower rate, the air will not be cooled to the same extent. However, using less cooling liquid in the box 101 or not using cooling liquid will extend the amount of time that any ice remains frozen or cold objects remain at a low temperature. In some examples, the cooling rate can be selected with a dial, or there can be any number of cooling settings. The variability and versatility of these and other aspects of the portable multi-functional air conditioner 100 are all for functioning and successfully using in all climates and environments.
[0079] The portable multifunctional air conditioner described herein is not limited to the first function, the second function and the third function of method 700. According to the system and method described herein, various settings, states and surrounding environments bring other functions. Some combinations of the features of the portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 produce other functions that can best suit a particular environment. For example, including the function of heating air, the function of charging the device, the function of keeping the contents in the box 101 insulated, the function of discharging odors and other chemicals (e.g., pesticides, sunscreens, etc.) into the environment.
[0080] Some examples described herein discuss using cooling liquid in a box to further cool air that has already been cooled by the presence of ice, cooling liquid, or other cold objects in the box. However, it should be understood that in other examples, hot liquid can be used to heat air that has already been heated by hot liquid or other hot objects in the box.
[0081] The versatility and multiple functions of the portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 enable it to be used in all environments. The portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 can remove the moisture in the air in the storage 103 before discharging the air outward. Using the heat exchanger 218 to remove moisture from the air is particularly beneficial in a humid environment. Discharging cold and dry air to people or animals alleviates the dangers of hot and humid environments. Other environments occur, such as hot and dry environments, in which the portable multifunctional air conditioner 100 can use multiple methods to adjust the air (e.g., change the temperature) and further adjust the air (e.g., increase humidity) by using the spray nozzle 220 when discharging the air. In the case where the air temperature in the environment is comfortable but higher humidity is desired, the spray produced by the spray nozzle 220 can also be used separately from the function of changing the temperature of the air. These capabilities combined with the additional functions and features described herein allow the portable multifunctional air conditioner to be used in all environments.
