[0005] Patent Document 1: International Publication No. 2016 / 38951 Summary of the invention
[0006] Problem that the invention aims to solve
[0007] When a pen-type electronic device is held, there is a problem that sensitivity easily changes depending on the position held and variations easily occur.
[0008] An object of the present invention is to provide a pen-type electronic device that prevents variations in sensitivity caused by differences in gripping locations.
[0009] Solutions for solving problems
[0010] The pen-type electronic device of the present invention is characterized in that the pen-type electronic device comprises: a cylindrical shell having a grip held by a user; a pen shaft accommodated inside the shell; a sheet-shaped pressure sensor wound on the outer side surface of the pen shaft or the inner side surface of the shell at a position overlapping with the grip; and a buffer member arranged between the pen shaft and the pressure sensor, or between the pressure sensor and the shell, the pressure sensor having a low sensitivity area at the central part of the grip along the long axis direction of the pen shaft.
[0011] The inventors of the present application have found that the sensitivity of the central portion of the grip along the long axis of the pen shaft is high, while the sensitivity of other portions is low. Therefore, the pen-type electronic device of the present invention can prevent the deviation of sensitivity caused by the difference in the gripping position by providing a low-sensitivity region in the central portion of the grip along the long axis of the pen shaft.

[0029] Figure 1 It is an exploded perspective view of the pen-type electronic device 1 . Figure 2 It is a partial perspective side view of the pen-type electronic device 1 . Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view of the pen-type electronic device 1, Figure 4 yes Figure 3 Local anatomical view of line AA is shown.
[0030] The pen-shaped electronic device 1 includes a pen body 10, a pressure sensor 20, and a housing 30. The pen body 10 and the housing 30 are each cylindrical. The housing 30 is hollow and can be inserted with the pen body 10. The pen body 10 is sometimes hollow and can accommodate circuit components, etc., and sometimes has a filled shape. The pen body 10 and the housing 30 are each made of a resin or metal with a Young's modulus of more than 1 GPa.
[0031] The pen barrel 10 has a tapered pen tip at one end in the longitudinal direction (direction perpendicular to the circumferential direction). The outer diameter of the pen barrel 10 is smaller than the inner diameter of the housing 30. The pen barrel 10 is accommodated inside the housing 30.
[0032] The user holds the grip 101 near the pen tip in the housing 30. The user holds the grip 101 and brings the pen tip into contact with other electronic devices (such as a tablet computer, etc.). If the user moves the pen tip, the other electronic device senses the movement and receives the user's operation input.
[0033] The pressure sensor 20 is a flexible sheet-like member in a long strip shape. The pressure sensor 20 is spirally wound along the outer side surface of the pen body 10 at the portion corresponding to the grip portion 101. However, it is not necessary for the pressure sensor 20 to be spirally wound in the present invention. For example, the pressure sensor 20 may be wound around all portions of the outer side surface of the pen body 10 corresponding to the grip portion 101.
[0034] In addition, generally speaking, the pressure sensor is mostly arranged in the entire area of the required pressure detection area. However, there are often such cases: if it is set as a structure arranged in the entire area, the area of the pressure sensor is large, which becomes a disadvantage in terms of cost. In contrast, the sheet-like pressure sensor 20 shown in this embodiment is a relatively slender shape, and has a structure that is spirally wound around the pen body 10, so that the area of the pressure sensor 20 can be reduced relative to the area of the desired pressure detection area. Therefore, it is desired that the pressure sensor 20 is arranged in such a spiral shape.
[0035] like Figure 3 and Figure 4 As shown, the pressure sensor 20 is connected to the outer side of the pen body 10 via the bonding member 70. That is, the bonding member 70 is arranged between the pen body 10 and the pressure sensor 20. In the present embodiment, the bonding member 70 is a double-sided tape. The bonding member 70 is composed of an acrylic adhesive or an adhesive having a Young's modulus of more than 100 kPa. In addition, the bonding member 70 can be the same area as the area of the pressure sensor 20, or it can be an area covering all parts of the outer side of the pen body 10 corresponding to the gripping portion 101.
[0036] like Figure 3 and Figure 4 As shown, a buffer 50 is disposed between the pressure sensor 20 and the housing 30. The buffer 50 has contraction properties and is made of a resin having a Young's modulus of 100 kPa or more and 1 GPa or less. The buffer 50 may have the same area as the pressure sensor 20, or may have an area covering all portions of the outer side surface of the pen body 10 corresponding to the grip 101. In addition, the buffer 50 may have an area covering all outer side surfaces of the pen body 10.
[0037] As described above, the outer diameter of the pen body 10 is smaller than the inner diameter of the housing 30. Therefore, the pen body 10 is configured to be accommodated inside the housing 30. However, there are cases where the outer diameter of the pen body 10 is larger or smaller than the target outer diameter due to manufacturing errors. In addition, there are cases where the inner diameter of the housing 30 is larger or smaller than the target inner diameter due to manufacturing errors.
[0038] If the outer diameter of the pen barrel 10 is larger than the target outer diameter and the inner diameter of the housing 30 is smaller than the target inner diameter, the pen barrel 10 may not be accommodated inside the housing 30. Therefore, the outer diameter of the pen barrel 10 is designed to be smaller than the target outer diameter by a predetermined value, and the outer diameter of the housing 30 is designed to be larger than the target inner diameter by a predetermined value. Thus, even if a manufacturing error occurs, the pen barrel 10 is configured to be accommodated inside the housing 30.
[0039] On the other hand, a space of a predetermined height is generated between the pen body 10 and the housing 30. However, in this embodiment, a buffer 50 is provided between the pressure sensor 20 and the housing 30. The buffer 50 is shrinkable. When the thickness of the buffer 50 is thicker than the predetermined height, when the pen body 10 is stored inside the housing 30, the buffer 50 can shrink and eliminate the space. Therefore, when the user holds the housing 30, the deformation of the housing 30 caused by holding is transmitted to the pressure sensor 20 via the buffer 50.
[0040] Next, Figure 52 is a cross-sectional view showing the structure of the pressure sensor 20 . The pressure sensor 20 includes a first electrode 201 , a piezoelectric film 202 , an adhesive member 203 , a second electrode 204 , an FPC 205 , a third electrode 206 , and a cover 207 .
[0041] The first electrode 201 is disposed on the first main surface of the piezoelectric film 202. The first electrode 201 is a tape member having adhesiveness and conductivity. The first electrode 201 is grounded and functions as a shield electrode.
[0042] The piezoelectric film 202 is a piezoelectric material that generates polarization on the relative first main surface (upper surface) and the second main surface (lower surface) by expansion and contraction. For example, the piezoelectric film is composed of uniaxially stretched polylactic acid (PLA) or PVDF. The polylactic acid is any one of L-type polylactic acid (PLLA) and D-type polylactic acid (PDLA). Polylactic acid generates piezoelectricity through molecular orientation treatment based on stretching, etc., so there is no need to perform piezoelectric performance optimization treatment like other polymers such as PVDF and piezoelectric ceramics. In addition, polylactic acid does not have thermoelectricity. Therefore, polylactic acid does not generate polarization due to the user's body temperature, so it is preferred for pen-type electronic devices such as this embodiment.
[0043] The FPC 205 is a flexible insulating substrate such as polyimide, PET, or liquid crystal polymer. The second electrode 204 is formed on the upper surface side (the piezoelectric film 202 side) of the FPC 205 . The third electrode 206 is formed on the lower surface side of the FPC 205 .
[0044] The second electrode 204 is attached to the piezoelectric film 202 via the adhesive member 203. The second electrode 204 functions as a signal electrode for detecting a voltage generated on the second main surface of the piezoelectric film 202. The third electrode 206 is grounded and functions as a shielding electrode. In addition, it is not necessary to form electrodes on both the first main surface and the second main surface of the FPC 205. It is also possible to form an electrode on either the first main surface or the second main surface of the FPC 205. In this case, the shielding electrode can also be omitted.
[0045] The cover 207 has adhesiveness and is attached to the third electrode 206 to protect the third electrode 206. However, the cover 207 is not an essential structure.
[0046] The first electrode 201 is attached to the pen body 10 via the bonding member 70. However, the cover 207 may be attached to the pen body 10 via the bonding member 70. Alternatively, the pressure sensor 20 may be attached to the inner side surface of the housing 30. In this case, the bonding member 70 is disposed between the pressure sensor 20 and the housing 30. In addition, in this case, the buffer member 50 is disposed between the pressure sensor 20 and the pen body 10.
[0047] The detection circuit (not shown) measures the potential difference (voltage) between the first electrode 201 and the second electrode 204. When the detection circuit detects a voltage exceeding a predetermined threshold value, it determines that the grip portion 101 is being gripped by the user.
[0048] When the user holds the grip 101, the housing 30 is deformed first. When the housing 30 is deformed, the buffer 50 is also deformed. When the buffer 50 is deformed, the pressure sensor 20 is also deformed according to the deformation of the buffer 50. When the pen body 10 is not deformed, the pressure sensor 20 does not deform on the lower surface side inside the pressure sensor 20, but deforms on the upper surface side.
[0049] At this time, the adhesive tape 70 has the effect of fixing the pressure sensor 20 on one side to the pen 10. By fixing the pressure sensor 20 on one side to the pen 10, it is possible to suppress the unexpected sensor output caused by the displacement or unexpected deformation of the pressure sensor 20. By applying pressure to the sensor 20, deformation in the extension direction or contraction direction is generated in the second electrode 204, the FPC 205, and the third electrode 206. As a result, strain in the same direction is generated in the adhesive member 203, and the strain is transmitted to the piezoelectric film 202. As a result, strain in the extension direction or contraction direction is generated in the piezoelectric film 202, so an electric field is generated in the thickness direction of the piezoelectric film 202 according to the characteristics of the piezoelectric body, which becomes the output of the sensor.
[0050] In addition, when the pen holder 10 is deformed together with the pressure sensor 20, each layer of the pressure sensor 20 is deformed. As a result, deformation in the bending direction occurs in the second electrode 204, the FPC 205, and the third electrode 206. As a result, deformation in the extension direction or the contraction direction occurs in the second electrode 204 and the third electrode 206. As a result, strain in the same direction occurs in the adhesive member 203, and the strain is transmitted to the piezoelectric film 202. As a result, strain in the extension direction or the contraction direction occurs in the piezoelectric film 202, and an electric field is generated in the thickness direction of the piezoelectric film 202 according to the characteristics of the piezoelectric body, which becomes the output of the sensor.
[0051] Therefore, by changing the structure of the housing and the interior of the housing, the output of the sensor can be changed.
[0052] When the user holds the holding part of the pen-type electronic device, it is assumed that the user holds the center of the press detection area and the user holds the end of the press detection area. When the user holds the center of the press detection area, the sensor area to which the press is applied becomes a wider area. On the contrary, when the user holds the end, the sensor area to which the press is applied becomes a narrower area compared to when the user holds the center. Therefore, when the user holds the end, the sensor output becomes smaller compared to when the user holds the center. As a result, there is a problem that the sensor output in the press detection area is easily deviated.
[0053] Figure 6 This is a diagram showing, as a reference example, differences in output voltage of a pressure sensor caused by differences in gripping positions in a conventional structure. The horizontal axis of the graph in the figure corresponds to the gripping position of the pen-shaped electronic device, and the vertical axis is voltage.
[0054] like Figure 6 As shown, when the user holds the grip of the pen-type electronic device, the grip position A3 in the center of the pressure sensor arrangement portion exhibits a very high voltage. The grip positions A2 and A4 deviating from the center exhibit relatively low voltages, and the grip position A1 closest to the pen tip and the grip position A5 farthest from the pen tip exhibit very low voltages.
[0055] The detection circuit (not shown) determines that the user is holding the pen-shaped electronic device when detecting a voltage exceeding a predetermined threshold value. Here, if the threshold value is set corresponding to the voltage when the user is holding the holding position A3 of the central part, the detection circuit cannot determine that the user is holding the pen-shaped electronic device when the user is holding other holding positions. On the other hand, if the threshold value is set corresponding to the voltage when the user is holding the holding position A1 or the holding position A5, the detection circuit will mistakenly determine that the user is holding the pen-shaped electronic device due to a voltage such as noise.
[0056] Therefore, the pen-type electronic device 1 of the present embodiment has a low-sensitivity region in the central portion 102 where the sensitivity of the pressure sensor decreases. Figure 7 1 is a diagram showing a partial cross-section of the grip portion 101 in the pen-type electronic device 1 .
[0057] like Figure 7 As shown, the cushion member 50 has a notch 51 at the central portion 102. As described above, when the user holds the grip 101, the housing 30 is deformed first. When the housing 30 is deformed, the cushion member 50 is also deformed. When the cushion member 50 is deformed, the pressure sensor 20 is also deformed according to the deformation of the cushion member 50.
[0058] Therefore, in Figure 7When the cushioning member 50 has the notch 51 at the center portion 102 as shown, the amount of deformation of the pressure sensor 20 decreases at the center portion 102. Thus, the pressure sensor 20 forms a low sensitivity region at the center portion 102.
[0059] In addition, the notch 51 may be provided at the center portion 102 of the pressure sensor 20 instead of the buffer 50. In addition, another buffer relatively softer than the buffer 50 may be provided at the position of the notch 51. Fig.13 As shown in this example, the thin-walled portion 90 is provided at the central portion 102 of the housing 30. In these cases, the central portion 102 of the pressure sensor 20 also forms a low-sensitivity region.
[0060] Figure 8 This is a diagram showing the difference in output voltage of the pressure sensor due to the difference in the gripping position in the pen-shaped electronic device 1 of the present embodiment. The horizontal axis of the graph in the figure corresponds to the gripping position of the pen-shaped electronic device, and the vertical axis is the voltage.
[0061] like Figure 8 As shown, in the pen-type electronic device 1 of the present embodiment, no matter which position among the holding positions A1 to A5 is held, there is no significant difference in voltage. Therefore, for the detection circuit (not shown), no matter which position the user holds the holding portion 101, it will not be mistakenly determined as noise, etc., and the user's holding can be properly detected.
[0062] In the above embodiment, an example is shown in which the low sensitivity region of the pressure sensor 20 is formed by the cushioning member 50 having the notch 51 at the portion corresponding to the central portion 102. However, the low sensitivity region can be formed by various modifications as described below.
[0063] (Variant 1)
[0064] The low sensitivity region may be formed by the cushion member 50 having a thin wall portion at a portion corresponding to the low sensitivity region of the pressure sensor 20. In this case, the amount of deformation of the pressure sensor 20 also decreases at the center portion 102.
[0065] (Variant 2)
[0066] Fig. 9 FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a partial cross-section of the grip portion 101 in the pen-type electronic device 1 according to the second modification. Fig. 9 As shown, the low-sensitivity region may be formed by having a notch portion in the portion of the joint member 70 corresponding to the low-sensitivity region of the pressure sensor 20. In this case, the deformation amount of the pressure sensor 20 also decreases in the central portion 102.
[0067] (Variant 3)
[0068] The low-sensitivity region may be formed by having the joint member 70 have a thin-walled portion at a portion corresponding to the low-sensitivity region of the pressure sensor 20. In this case, the amount of deformation of the pressure sensor 20 also decreases at the center portion 102.
[0069] (Variant 4)
[0070] Fig.10 FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a partial cross-section of the grip portion 101 in the pen-type electronic device 1 according to Modification 4. Fig.10 As shown, the pen-type electronic device 1 of the modification 4 includes a spacer 91 between the buffer 50 and the housing 30. The spacer 91 has a notch at a portion (central portion 102) corresponding to the low sensitivity region of the pressure sensor 20. Alternatively, the thickness of the buffer 50 may be made thinner only at the central portion 102 (or thicker at portions other than the central portion 102) instead of the spacer 91. Thus, a low sensitivity region is formed at the central portion 102 of the pressure sensor 20. In this case, the deformation amount of the pressure sensor 20 is also reduced at the central portion 102.
[0071] (Variant 5)
[0072] The spacer 91 may have a thin wall portion at a portion (central portion 102) corresponding to the low sensitivity region of the pressure sensor 20. Thus, a low sensitivity region is formed at the central portion 102 of the pressure sensor 20. In this case, the deformation amount of the pressure sensor 20 is also reduced at the central portion 102.
[0073] (Variant 6)
[0074] Fig.11 FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a partial cross-section of the pressure sensor 20 in the pen-type electronic device 1 according to the modification example 6. Fig.11 As shown, the second electrode 204 of the pressure sensor 20 has a notch at the center portion 102. Thus, a low sensitivity region is formed at the center portion 102 of the pressure sensor 20. In this case, the amount of deformation of the pressure sensor 20 also decreases at the center portion 102.
[0075] In addition, the piezoelectric film 202 of the pressure sensor 20 may have a notch at the central portion 102. In this case, a low sensitivity region is also formed at the central portion 102 of the pressure sensor 20. In this case, the amount of deformation of the pressure sensor 20 is also reduced at the central portion 102. In addition, for example, the low sensitivity region may be formed by making the width of the central portion in the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric film more complementary to the width of the end portions.
[0076] (Variant 7)
[0077] Fig.12 FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a partial cross-section of the grip portion 101 in the pen-type electronic device 1 according to Modification 7. Fig.12 As shown, the pen body 10 has a thin wall portion at the central portion 102. Thus, a low sensitivity region is formed at the central portion 102 of the pressure sensor 20. In this case, the amount of deformation of the pressure sensor 20 also decreases at the central portion 102.
[0078] (Variant 8)
[0079] Fig.14 is a diagram showing a partial cross-section of the press sensor 20 in the pen-type electronic device 1 of modification example 8. In the above embodiment, the press sensor 20 is wound in a spiral shape with a uniform pitch along the outer side surface of the pen body 10 at the portion corresponding to the grip portion 101. The press sensor 20 of modification example 8 is wound in a manner in which the pitch is shorter at the position of the central portion 102 and the pitch is longer at the position outside the central portion 102. As a result, the press sensor 20 is arranged less at the central portion 102 and arranged more at the position outside the central portion 102. In this case, the deformation amount of the press sensor 20 also decreases at the central portion 102.
[0080] (Variant 9)
[0081] Fig.15 1 is a diagram showing a partial cross-section of the press sensor 20 in the pen-type electronic device 1 of variant example 9. In the pen-type electronic device 1 of variant example 9, the press sensor 20 is divided into a first press sensor 20A arranged at a position in the central portion 102 and a second press sensor 20B arranged at a position outside the central portion 102. A detection circuit not shown measures the voltage of each of the first press sensor 20A and the second press sensor 20B. Furthermore, the detection circuit determines that the holding portion 101 is being held by the user when the voltage of the first press sensor 20A exceeds the first threshold value or when the voltage of the second press sensor 20B exceeds the second threshold value. Here, the first threshold value is set to a value higher than the second threshold value. In this case, a low-sensitivity area where the sensitivity of the press sensor decreases is also formed in the central portion 102.
[0082] In addition, the piezoelectric film used in the first press sensor 20A and the second press sensor 20B may also be polylactic acid uniaxially stretched in different directions. For example, when the uniaxial stretching direction of the piezoelectric film of the first press sensor 20A relative to the axial direction of the pen body 10 is 20° and the uniaxial stretching direction of the piezoelectric film of the second press sensor 20B relative to the axial direction of the pen body 10 is 45°, the output of the first press sensor 20A is lower for the same pressing force. That is, the uniaxial stretching direction of the piezoelectric film of the second press sensor 20B relative to the axial direction of the pen body 10 is closer to 45° (or 135°) than the uniaxial stretching direction of the piezoelectric film of the first press sensor 20A relative to the axial direction of the pen body 10. In this case, a low-sensitivity area where the sensitivity of the press sensor decreases is also formed at the central portion 102.
[0083] When two types of sensors are used as described above, the sensor wound around the center portion and the sensor wound around the area other than the center portion may not be integrated.
[0084] The above-mentioned embodiments and various modified examples are merely examples and can be combined as appropriate. For example, a sensor having the same uniaxial stretching direction may be divided into two parts and then wound.
