A derivative of a hydrocarbon group refers to a group having one or more N, O, S, Si, amide, sulfonyl, siloxane, carbonyl, carbonyloxy, etc. at the end of the hydrocarbon group or in the molecular chain. Among them, when simply referred to as "organic group", it means a monovalent organic group. In addition, a "divalent organic group" refers to a divalent group containing carbon. As such a divalent organic group, for example, a divalent group in which one hydrogen atom is further removed from the organic group can be cited. Similarly, a trivalent or higher valent organic group refers to a group in which a specified number of hydrogen atoms are removed from the organic group.
[0198] As used in this specification, "hydrocarbon group" is a group containing carbon and hydrogen, and refers to a group obtained by removing hydrogen atoms from hydrocarbon. Such a hydrocarbon group is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include C 1-20 Hydrocarbon groups, such as aliphatic hydrocarbon groups and aromatic hydrocarbon groups. The aforementioned "aliphatic hydrocarbon groups" may be linear, branched, or cyclic, and may be saturated or unsaturated. Furthermore, the hydrocarbon group may contain one or more ring structures. The hydrocarbon group may also be substituted with one or more substituents.
[0199] As used in this specification, the substituent of the "hydrocarbon group" is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include halogen atoms, C 1-6 Alkyl, C 2-6 Alkenyl, C 2-6 Alkynyl, C 3-10 Cycloalkyl, C 3-10 Unsaturated cycloalkyl, 5-10 membered heterocyclic group, 5-10 membered unsaturated heterocyclic group, C 6-10 One or more of an aryl group and a 5- to 10-membered heteroaryl group.
[0200] As used in this specification, "hydrolyzable group" refers to a group that can undergo hydrolysis reaction, that is, a group that can be separated from the main skeleton of the compound by hydrolysis reaction. Examples of hydrolyzable groups include -OR h , OCOR h 、﹣O﹣N=CR h 2. -NR h 2. NHR h , -NCO, halogen (in these formulas, R h represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms), etc., preferably -OR h (i.e. alkoxy). hExamples include unsubstituted alkyl groups such as methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, isopropyl, n-butyl, and isobutyl; and substituted alkyl groups such as chloromethyl. Among these, alkyl groups are preferred, unsubstituted alkyl groups are particularly preferred, and methyl or ethyl groups are more preferred.

[1194] The composition of the present invention can be impregnated into a porous material, such as a porous ceramic material or a material formed by fixing metal fibers such as steel wool into a cotton-like state, to form pellets. The pellets can be used, for example, for vacuum deposition.
[1195] The composition of the present invention is preferably used as a surface treatment agent or as a component of a surface treatment agent.
[1196] Hereinafter, the article of the present invention will be described.
[1197] The article of the present invention includes a substrate and a layer (surface treatment layer) formed on the surface of the substrate using the surface treatment agent of the present invention.
[1198] The substrate that can be used in the present invention can be composed of, for example, glass, resin (natural or synthetic resin, such as a common plastic material), metal, ceramic, semiconductor (silicon, germanium, etc.), fiber (textile, non-woven fabric, etc.), fur, leather, wood, ceramics, stone, building materials, sanitary products, and any other suitable materials.
[1199] For example, when the article to be manufactured is an optical component, the material constituting the surface of the substrate can be a material for optical components, such as glass or transparent plastic. In addition, when the article to be manufactured is an optical component, a certain layer (or film), such as a hard coating or an anti-reflection layer, can also be formed on the surface (outermost layer) of the substrate. The anti-reflection layer can be any of a single anti-reflection layer and a multi-layer anti-reflection layer. Examples of inorganic substances that can be used in the anti-reflection layer include SiO2, SiO, ZrO2, TiO2, TiO, Ti2O3, Ti2O5, Al2O3, Ta2O5, Ta3O5, Nb2O5, HfO2, Si3N4, CeO2, MgO, Y2O3, SnO2, MgF2, WO3, etc. These inorganic substances can be used alone or in combination of two or more thereof (for example, in the form of a mixture). When forming a multi-layer anti-reflection layer, it is preferred to use SiO2 and / or SiO in its outermost layer. When the product to be manufactured is an optical glass component for a touch panel, a transparent electrode, such as a thin film of indium tin oxide (ITO) or indium zinc oxide, may be provided on a portion of the substrate (glass) surface. Furthermore, depending on its specific specifications, the substrate may also include an insulating layer, an adhesive layer, a protective layer, a decorative frame layer (I-CON), an atomized film layer, a hard coat layer, a polarizing film, a phase difference film, and a liquid crystal display module.
[1200] The shape of above-mentioned base material is not particularly limited, for example can be plate-like, film, other forms. In addition, the surface area of the base material that will form the surface treated layer as long as at least a portion of the base material surface can be suitably determined according to the purposes of the article to be manufactured and concrete specifications etc.
[1201] In one embodiment, as such a substrate, it can be a substrate whose surface portion is formed by a material that originally has a hydroxyl group. As such a material, glass can be cited, and metals (especially base metals), ceramics, semiconductors, etc. that form a natural oxide film or a thermal oxide film on the surface can also be cited. Alternatively, as resins, etc., even if there is a hydroxyl group but it is insufficient, or when there is no hydroxyl group originally, by implementing a certain pre-treatment on the substrate, hydroxyl groups can be introduced into the surface of the substrate or increased. As examples of such pre-treatments, plasma treatment (such as corona discharge) or ion beam irradiation can be cited. In order to be able to introduce hydroxyl groups into the substrate surface or increase hydroxyl groups and to purify the substrate surface (remove foreign matter, etc.), plasma treatment can also be suitable. In addition, as other examples of such pre-treatments, the following method can be cited: using LB method (Langmuir-Blodgett method) or chemical adsorption method, a surface adsorbent having a carbon-carbon unsaturated bond group is formed in the form of a monomolecular film on the substrate surface in advance, and then, in an atmosphere containing oxygen, nitrogen, etc., the unsaturated bond is disconnected.
[1202] In another embodiment, such a substrate may be a substrate at least the surface of which is formed of an organosilicon compound having one or more other reactive groups, for example, a Si—H group, or a material containing an alkoxysilane.
[1203] In a preferred embodiment, the substrate is glass. Preferred examples of such glass include sapphire glass, soda-lime glass, alkali-aluminosilicate glass, borosilicate glass, alkali-free glass, crystal glass, and quartz glass, with chemically strengthened soda-lime glass, chemically strengthened alkali-aluminosilicate glass, and chemically bonded borosilicate glass being particularly preferred.
[1204] In one embodiment, the article of the present invention may include an intermediate layer containing silicon oxide between the glass and the surface treatment layer. Providing such an intermediate layer improves the adhesion between the glass and the surface treatment layer, thereby improving durability.
[1205] In a preferred embodiment, the intermediate layer may contain an alkali metal in addition to silicon oxide.
[1206] Examples of the alkali metal include lithium, sodium, and potassium. The alkali metal is preferably sodium.
[1207] The thickness of the intermediate layer is not particularly limited, but is preferably 1 to 200 nm, particularly preferably 1 to 20 nm. When the thickness of the intermediate layer is at least the lower limit of the above range, the effect of improving adhesion by the intermediate layer is greater.
[1208] The concentration of alkali metal atoms in the intermediate layer can be measured using various surface analysis devices, such as TOF-SIMS, XPS, and XRF.
[1209] The ratio of alkali metal atoms to all atoms in the entire intermediate layer can be obtained by XPS depth analysis using ion sputtering by alternating and repeating XPS measurement and surface etching using an ion gun built into the XPS apparatus.
[1210] The average alkali metal concentration within the intermediate layer, within a depth of 1 nm or less from the surface in contact with the surface treatment layer, was determined by calculating the average alkali metal concentration along a depth profile of the alkali metal atom concentration obtained through TOF-SIMS (time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry) depth analysis using ion sputtering. This TOF-SIMS depth analysis was performed by alternating between TOF-SIMS measurement and surface etching using an ion gun built into the TOF-SIMS instrument.
[1211] The article of the present invention can be produced by forming a layer of the surface treatment agent of the present invention on the surface of the substrate and, if necessary, post-treating the layer to form a layer of the surface treatment agent of the present invention.
[1212] The surface treatment agent layer of the present invention can be formed by applying the surface treatment agent to the substrate surface in a manner that covers the substrate surface. The covering method is not particularly limited. For example, a wet covering method and a dry covering method can be used.
[1213] Examples of wet coating methods include dip coating, spin coating, flow coating, spray coating, roll coating, gravure coating, wipe coating, squeegee coating, die coating, ink jetting, casting, Langmuir-Blodgett method, and the like.

[1215] Alternatively, coating may be performed using a normal pressure plasma method.

[1217] When the dry coating method is used, the surface treating agent of the present invention may be used for the dry coating method as it is or may be used for the dry coating method after being diluted with the above-mentioned solvent.
[1218] The layer of surface treatment agent is formed in a manner that the surface treatment agent of the present invention and the catalyst for hydrolysis and dehydration condensation coexist in the layer. In short, in the case of utilizing a wet covering method, after the surface treatment agent of the present invention is diluted with a solvent, before being applied to the substrate surface, a catalyst is added to the diluent of the surface treatment agent of the present invention. In the case of utilizing a dry covering method, the surface treatment agent of the present invention after adding a catalyst can be directly subjected to vapor deposition (usually vacuum evaporation) processing, or the surface treatment agent of the present invention after adding a catalyst is impregnated in a metal porous body such as iron or copper to obtain a granular material, and the granular material obtained is used to carry out vapor deposition (usually vacuum evaporation) processing.

[1220] The surface-treated layer included in the article of the present invention exhibits both high wear resistance and fingerprint removability. Furthermore, in addition to high wear resistance, the surface-treated layer can also exhibit water repellency, oil repellency, antifouling properties (e.g., preventing the adhesion of fingerprints and other stains), water repellency (preventing water from penetrating electronic components, etc.), surface slipperiness (or lubricity, such as removability of fingerprints and other stains, and excellent finger feel), and chemical resistance, though this varies depending on the composition of the surface treatment agent used, making it suitable for use as a functional film.

[1225] The thickness of the layer is not particularly limited. In the case of optical components, the thickness of the layer is preferably in the range of, for example, 1 to 50 nm, preferably 1 to 30 nm, and more preferably 1 to 15 nm, from the viewpoints of optical performance, wear resistance, and antifouling properties.
[1226] As an apparatus for performing X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy for measuring the atomic composition and constituent atomic ratio of the surface treatment layer, XPS and PHI5000VersaProbeII manufactured by ULVAC-PHI can be used. As measurement conditions for XPS analysis, the X-ray source can be set to 25W for monochromatized AlKα rays, the photoelectron detection area is set to 1400μm×300μm, the photoelectron detection angle is set to a range of 20 degrees to 90 degrees (for example, 20 degrees, 45 degrees, 90 degrees), and the energy can be set to 23.5eV, etc., and sputtering can use gas cluster ion beams, Ar ions, etc. The peak areas of C1s, O1s, and Si2p are observed by the above-mentioned apparatus and measurement conditions, and the atomic ratios of carbon, oxygen, and silicon are calculated, thereby being able to determine the composition of the surface treatment layer and the intermediate layer.
[1227] Furthermore, depth analysis can also be performed. XPS analysis conditions include an X-ray source with a power of 25W using monochromatized AlKα radiation, a photoelectron detection area of 1400μm×300μm, a photoelectron detection angle of 20 to 90 degrees (e.g., 20, 45, or 90 degrees), a voltage of 23.5eV, and sputtering ions using Ar ions, gas cluster ions, or C60 ions. By performing sputtering to etch a depth of 1 to 100nm, the composition of the coating film at each etching depth can be determined.
[1228] By adjusting the photoelectron detection angle during XPS analysis, the detection depth can be adjusted appropriately. For example, a shallow angle close to 20 degrees can reduce the detection depth to approximately 3 nm, while a deep angle close to 90 degrees can reduce the detection depth to several tens of nm.
[1229] The silicon oxide-containing intermediate layer can be formed by applying a silicon oxide precursor to the surface of the substrate. If the intermediate layer contains an alkali metal, the intermediate layer can be formed by applying a composition containing a silicon oxide precursor and an alkali metal source to the surface of the substrate.
[1230] Examples of the silicon oxide precursor include silicic acid, partial condensates of silicic acid, alkali metal silicates, silane compounds having hydrolyzable groups bonded to silicon atoms, and partially hydrolyzed condensates of such silane compounds. Silicic acid or its partial condensates can be dehydrated and condensed to form silicon oxide; alkali metal silicates can be used with an acid or a cation exchange resin to form silicic acid or its partial condensates, and the resulting silicic acid or partial condensates can be dehydrated and condensed to form silicon oxide. Examples of the hydrolyzable groups in the silane compounds having hydrolyzable groups bonded to silicon atoms include alkoxy groups and chlorine atoms. The hydrolyzable groups in the silane compounds are hydrolyzed to form hydroxyl groups, and the resulting silanol compounds are dehydrated and condensed to form silicon oxide. Examples of the silane compounds having hydrolyzable groups bonded to silicon atoms include alkoxysilanes such as tetraalkoxysilane and alkyltrialkoxysilane, and tetrachlorosilane.
[1231] Examples of the alkali metal source include alkali metal hydroxides and water-soluble alkali metal salts. Examples of the water-soluble alkali metal salts include alkali metal carbonates, alkali metal hydrogencarbonates, alkali metal hydrochlorides, and alkali metal nitrates. Preferred alkali metal sources include alkali metal hydroxides and alkali metal carbonates.
[1232] Among them, alkali metal silicates can be used as silicon oxide precursors and alkali metal sources. While alkali metal silicates can be converted to silicon oxide through the reaction with silicic acid, a small amount of alkali metal remains in the resulting silicon oxide. Therefore, by adjusting the amount of residual alkali metal, silicon oxide containing a predetermined amount of alkali metal atoms can be obtained.
[1233] The thickness of the intermediate layer is not particularly limited, and is, for example, in the range of 1 to 50 nm, preferably 1 to 30 nm, more preferably 2 to 15 nm, and even more preferably 3 to 10 nm.

[1380] <Na-containing intermediate layer forming material>
[1381] 2.2 g of sodium hydroxide (manufactured by Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.) was dissolved in 24 g of distilled water to obtain an 8.4% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution. This 8.4% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution was then mixed with 20 g of MS gel (MSGEL D-100-60A (manufactured by AGC Si-Tech Co., Ltd.) to allow the sodium hydroxide aqueous solution to be absorbed by the MS gel. The MS gel, which had absorbed the sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, was dried at 25°C for 8 hours, then formed using a tablet forming machine (4 MPa, 1 minute) and calcined at 1000°C for 1 hour to obtain a compact 1 (pellet).
[1382] <Formation of surface treatment layer>
[1383] (SiO2 intermediate layer)
[1384] The surface treatment agent prepared above was vacuum-deposited on chemically strengthened glass (Gorilla Glass, manufactured by Corning, thickness 0.7 mm). Specifically, 0.1 g of the surface treatment agent was filled into a molybdenum boat in a vacuum deposition apparatus, and the vacuum deposition apparatus was evacuated to a pressure of 3.0 × 10 -3 Pa or less. A 7nm thick silicon dioxide film was then formed, and the boat was heated using resistance heating to form a surface treatment layer. This was followed by a heat treatment at 150°C for 2 hours in an oven to obtain a surface treatment layer.
[1385] (Na-containing SiO2 intermediate layer)
[1386] The surface treatment agent prepared above was vacuum-deposited on chemically strengthened glass (Gorilla Glass, manufactured by Corning, thickness 0.7 mm). Specifically, 0.1 g of the surface treatment agent was filled into a molybdenum boat in a vacuum deposition apparatus, and the vacuum deposition apparatus was evacuated to a pressure of 3.0 × 10 -3 Pa or less. Subsequently, a 7 nm thick Na-containing silicon dioxide film was formed using electron beam evaporation using the molded body 1. The boat was then heated using resistance heating to form a surface treatment layer. Subsequently, a heat treatment was performed in an oven at 150°C for 2 hours to obtain a surface treatment layer.
[1387] <Evaluation>
[1388] [Abrasion resistance evaluation]
[1389] (Contact angle measurement)
[1390] Contact angles were measured at 25°C using a fully automatic contact angle meter, the DropMaster 700 (manufactured by Kyowa Interface Science Co., Ltd.). Specifically, a substrate with a surface treatment layer to be measured was placed horizontally and water was dripped onto the surface using a microsyringe. A still image was captured using a video microscope one second after the dripping. The static contact angle was measured at five different locations on the substrate's surface treatment layer, and the average value was used.
[1391] (Evaluation after wear resistance test)
[1392] The resulting surface-treated layer was placed in contact with the following friction material. A load of 5 N was applied, and the friction material was reciprocated at a speed of 40 mm / s while the load was applied. The static contact angle (°) of water was measured after 400 friction cycles. The measurement criteria are as follows.
