[0023] It is readily appreciated that the components of certain example embodiments, as generally described and illustrated in the figures herein, may be arranged and designed in a variety of different configurations. Therefore, the following detailed description of some example embodiments of systems, methods, apparatus, and computer program products for enhancing SDM-based simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmissions is not intended to limit the scope of certain example embodiments, but is representative of selected example embodiments.

[0024] Some example embodiments discussed herein may relate to 3GPP NR physical layer designs for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) enhancements in Rel-18 and later releases. Specifically, various example embodiments may enable simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmissions with different single downlink control information (S-DCI) indication options for one or more transmission reception points (TRPs) using different precoding types (i.e., codebook and non-codebook) in conjunction.

[0025] Figure 1An example of 3GPP Rel-17 S-DCI for time division multiplexing (TDM) based multi-TRP (M-TRP) PUSCH with and without repetition and antenna arrangement selection between two TRPs is depicted. 3GPP Rel-17 aims to improve the reliability of uplink (UL) transmissions in the context of multi-TRP scenarios. Based on the Rel-17 capability set index report, the network can know the UE antenna arrangement (including information on the number of UL SRS antenna ports) for UL SRS codebook-based transmissions in a specific spatial UL direction associated with the reported DL reference signal / signal-specific transmission capabilities (i.e., non-zero power (NZP) channel state information (CSI) reference signal (RS) or synchronization signal block (SSB)). Based on this information, the network can obtain the TRP-specific transmit precoding matrix indicator (TPMI) assumption (i.e., determine the precoder index and rank selection) antenna arrangement, particularly for PUSCH transmission, by using the codebook, thereby triggering the transmission of two different UL sounding reference signal (SRS) resource sets. Two different UL SRS resource sets may have been configured with two different / joint downlink (DL) and UL / UL transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states associated as spatial sources. In addition, the two different UL SRS resource sets may also be configured with followUnifiedTCIStateSRS-R17 information, thereby enabling dynamic spatial information updates based on the indicated TCI states. Based on the acquired TRP-specific TPMI and sounding reference signal resource indicator (SRI) information, when two SRS resource sets are configured with the use of codebook / non-codebook, the network can trigger non-simultaneous TRP-specific Rel-17 PUSCH transmission by indicating any one of the single SRS resource set indicators (i.e., 2 bits (e.g., 4 different values) are reserved, otherwise 0 bits) via DCI. The first value of the four possible values of the DCI code point can be used to indicate which of the two SRIs (i.e., the first or the second) can be used to dynamically switch between a single TRP (i.e., TPR1 or TRP2) PUSCH transmission in a time division multiplexing (TDM) manner, and the remaining two bits can be used for multiple TRPs repeated between TRP1 and TRP2 in a TDM manner. PUSCH transmission. Cyclic or sequential mapping can be configured via RRC to map two SRIs to PUSCH repetitions. In addition, for codebook based transmission, the DCI may include two separate codepoint fields for SRI, and two precoding information and layer number fields. The first field may indicate the number of layers, while the second field may not indicate the number of layers. For non-codebook based transmission, the DCI may consist of two SRI codepoint fields, where the first field may indicate the layer and the second field may not indicate the layer. For both codebook and non-codebook.In addition, the DCI may also include antenna port information defining the indicated demodulation reference signal (DMRS) antenna port combination. In addition, in Rel-17, the UE may assume that both the first precoding information and the second precoding information (i.e., codebook) or SRI (i.e., non-codebook) are associated with the same number of layers (i.e., equal transmission rank).

[0026] 3GPP Rel-17 may enable the UE to be configured with codebook-based or non-codebook-based PUSCH transmission. Based on this configuration, the UE may assume that the SRS indicator and precoding information may be associated with codebook-based or non-codebook-based PUSCH transmission when receiving DCI with or without UL grant.

[0027] It may be important to identify and specify the necessary enhancements for UL MIMO in 3GPP Rel-18, although the necessary enhancements for DL MIMO that facilitate the use of large antenna arrays (not only for frequency range (FR) 1 but also for FR2) still need to be introduced to meet the requirements of the evolution of NR deployments.

[0028] Higher peak data rates in the UL can play an important role in short-range applications such as home entertainment, video surveillance / monitoring in industrial / medical / security, IAB, and other applications where power, form factor, and device cost are not as stringent as traditional handheld devices. In both FR1 and FR2, UL transmissions greater than 4Tx can help bridge the gap between DL and UL spectrum efficiency. Therefore, it may be beneficial to develop methods and / or signaling solutions to overcome this issue in 3GPP Rel-18 and beyond.

[0029] One of the goals in 3GPP Rel-18 NR MIMO Evo DL UL includes: defining how to provide specification support for simultaneous multi-panel UL transmission of 2 panels (STx2P). For example, to facilitate simultaneous multi-panel UL transmission for higher UL throughput / reliability, focus on FR2 and multiple TRPs, assuming up to 2 TRPs and up to 2 panels, and for customer premises equipment / fixed wireless access / vehicles / industrial equipment, UL precoding indication for PUSCH can be considered, where no new codebook is introduced for multi-panel simultaneous transmission. Considering single DCI and multi-TRP operation based on multiple DCI, the total number of layers on all panels can be up to four layers, and the total number of codewords can be up to two layers. In addition, UL beam indication for physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) / PUSCH can be considered, where the unified TCI framework extension in goal 2 can be assumed, considering single DCI and multi-TRP operation based on multiple DCI. For the case of multi-TRP operation based on multi-DCI, only PUSCH+PUSCH or PUCCH+PUCCH can be sent on two panels in the same component carrier (CC).

[0030] Figure 2 Examples of different layer combinations with a single codeword (ie, {1+1, 1+2, 2+1, 2+2}) for the SDM scheme with single DCI support are illustrated.

[0031] As mentioned above, 3GPP Rel-17 only supports antenna arrangement specific PUSCH transmissions, regardless of codebook or non-codebook based precoding. Since Rel-18 UEs can be equipped with multiple antenna arrangements associated with different phase coherence capabilities (i.e., fully coherent, partially coherent, non-coherent) and channel conditions (e.g., propagation loss, line-of-sight (LoS) / non-LoS (NLoS), which can vary between UEs with different TPRs, it would be beneficial to enable M-DCI and S-DCI operations with simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmissions with different precoding types. As a result, the PUSCH throughput associated with simultaneous multi-panel transmissions can be improved compared to legacy operations. Furthermore, enabling support for simultaneous use of different precoding types associated with different antenna arrangements can enable enhanced configuration flexibility to use different precoding types based on the capabilities of the UE under different radio channel conditions and deployment scenarios. In addition, the current 3GPP The Rel-17 specification only supports the use of a single precoding type (i.e., TXConfig = codebook / non-codebook) for all PUSCH transmissions in a cell, which can be semi-statistically configured for the UE. Therefore, in M-TRP operation, a more dynamic precoding (i.e., codebook, non-codebook) can be implemented for each PUSCH transmission performance enhancement based on the TRP-specific channel conditions.

[0032] Certain example embodiments described herein may have various benefits and / or advantages to overcome the above disadvantages. For example, certain example embodiments may enable the network to configure the precoding type based on channel conditions and antenna arrangement specific coherence capabilities, thereby enhancing simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH performance (i.e., higher throughput relative to traditional single-type operation). This may be applicable to simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmissions based on S-DCI and M-DCI in M-TRP scenarios. Therefore, certain example embodiments discussed below are intended to improve computer-related technologies.

[0033] Some example embodiments discussed herein relate to a dynamic indication method for joint use of different UL TX precoding types (i.e., codebook and non-codebook) for simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmissions with different DCI indication options for one or more TRPs. In addition, various embodiments propose a UE transmission procedure for joint use of different UL transmitter (TX) precoding types (i.e., codebook and non-codebook) for simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmissions.

[0034] In certain example embodiments, the UE may indicate via capability signaling (eg, Radio Resource Control (RRC)) of the network that it supports simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmissions using joint use of different precoding types.

[0035] In some example embodiments, the UE may be configured with a PUSCH-Config that enables the UE to perform UL simultaneous multi-panel transmission in conjunction with different UL TX precoding types (i.e., codebook and non-codebook). In addition, a layer ordering between different precoding types associated with the PUSCH-Config may be defined. In order to enable the joint use of codebook and non-codebook for PUSCH, the UE may be configured with a PUSCH-Config, where TXConfig = codebook + non-codebook. Various example embodiments may also include a high-level configuration parameter layer ordering for the joint use of codebook-non-codebook for PUSCH-Config, which defines the layer ordering between codebook-based and non-codebook-based precoding. For example, when the layer ordering is set to 1, the layers associated with the SRS resource set using = codebook may be ordered before the layers associated with the SRS resource set using = non-codebook. In another example, when the layer ordering is set to 0 or invalid, the layers associated with the SRS resource set using = non-codebook may be ordered before the layers associated with the SRS resource set using = codebook. This example may consider any combined layer ordering with values 0 or 1 associated with a codebook or non-codebook.

[0036] In certain example embodiments, the network may implicitly indicate via S-DCI that the UE should simultaneously transmit PUSCH via different SRS resources associated with different precoder types (i.e., codebook and non-codebook) with multiple antenna arrangements. The indication may reuse existing DCI code points. For example, implicit indications may be used for the joint use of different UL precoding types: when PUSCH-Config is configured as TXConfig=codebook+non-codebook, each UL SRS resource set associated with the indicated corresponding SRI uses an indicated precoding type that may indicate the associated layer. In another example, the SRS resource set indicator may indicate the use of simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission based on SDM. In another example, the SRI may be associated with a UL SRS set configured with a codebook-based or non-codebook-based PUSCH (i.e., non-fixed / floating). When the SRI is associated with the UL SRS set using a non-codebook, it may be an index used to indicate the number of layers and the number of layer combinations for which resource number constraints are configured. When the SRI is associated with a UL SRS set using a codebook, it may be an index indicating one or more UL SRS resources for which resource number and ul-fullPowerTransmission mode constraints are configured. In various example embodiments, "non-fixed" / "floating" may refer to a non-fixed precoding type, and it may depend on the UL SRS set usage configuration associated with the SRS resource indicator. Additionally or alternatively, there may be additional indicators for precoding information and number of layers (i.e., non-fixed / floating). For example, when the precoding type is non-codebook and indicated by the use of the corresponding UL SRS resource set, the value associated with the precoding and number of layers may be empty or zero; otherwise, it may provide an index for the TPMI and the layer combination associated with the corresponding indicated SRI; the second SRS resource indicator (SRI) is associated with a UL SRS resource set configured with a codebook-based or non-codebook-based PUSCH (i.e., non-fixed / floating). When the second SRI is associated with a UL SRS set using a non-codebook, it may be an index indicating the number of layers and the number of layer combinations for which resource number constraints are configured. When the second SRI is associated with the UL SRS set using a codebook, it can be an index indicating one or more UL SRS resources that configure the number of resources and ul-fullPowerTransmission mode constraints. Some example embodiments may also use the second precoding information and the number of layers PUSCH (i.e., non-fixed / floating): when the precoding type is non-codebook indicated by the use of the corresponding UL SRS resource set, the value of the second precoding information and the number of layers may be empty or zero; otherwise, it may provide an index for the TPMI and the layer combination associated with the corresponding SRI; and / or a DMRS antenna port information indicator.Alternatively, an additional DMRS antenna port information indicator as a codepoint field may also be included as part of the DCI.

[0037] Various example embodiments may include alternative implicit indications, which may include any of the SRS resource set indicators configured to indicate SDM-based simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmissions; there may also be an SRS resource indicator associated with a codebook-based PUSCH (i.e., fixed / predefined). "Fixed" / "preconfigured" means that the precoding type is fixed / predetermined for the associated SRS resource indicator. When the SRI is associated with a UL SRS resource set using a codebook, it can be an index indicating one or more UL SRS resources for which the number of resources and ul-fullPowerTransmission mode constraints are configured; precoding information and a number of layers (i.e., fixed / predefined) that can provide an index to the TPMI and the layer combination associated with the corresponding SRI; a second resource indicator associated with a non-codebook based PUSCH (i.e., fixed / predefined), where when the precoding type is non-codebook, it is an index indicating the number of layers and the number of layer combinations for which the number of resources constraints are configured; second precoding information and the number of layers PUSCH (i.e., fixed / predefined), where when the precoding type is non-codebook, the value of the second precoding information and the number of layers is empty or zero: empty; and / or a DMRS antenna port information indicator. Alternatively, an additional DMRS antenna port information indicator as a codepoint field can also be included as part of the DCI.

[0038] In certain example embodiments, the first SRI may indicate (fixed / predetermined: non-codebook); the second SRI may indicate (non-fixed / floating). When the second SRI is associated with the use of a non-codebook by the UL SRS set, it may be an index indicating the number of layers and the number of layer combinations for which resource number constraints are configured. When the second SRI is associated with the use of a codebook by the UL SRS set, it may be an index indicating one or more UL SRS resources for which resource number and ul-fullPowerTransmission mode constraints are configured; the first precoding information and the number of layers may indicate (fixed / predetermined: empty); the second precoding information and the number of layers may indicate (non-fixed / floating), when the precoding type is non-codebook indicated by the use of the corresponding UL SRS resource set, the value of the second precoding information and the number of layers may be empty or zero; otherwise, it may provide an index for the TPMI and the layer combination associated with the corresponding SRI; and / or a DMRS antenna port information indicator. Alternatively, an additional DMRS antenna port information indicator as a codepoint field may also be included as part of the DCI.

[0039] In some example embodiments, the first SRI may indicate (non-fixed / floating), when the first SRI is associated with the UL SRS set using a non-codebook, it may be an index indicating the number of layers and the number of layer combinations for which the resource number constraint is configured. When the first SRI is associated with the UL SRS set using a codebook, it may be an index indicating one or more UL SRS resources for which the resource number and ul-fullPowerTransmission mode constraint are configured; the second SRI may indicate (fixed / predetermined: non-codebook) a second SRI associated with a non-codebook-based PUSCH, where when the precoding type is non-codebook, it is an index indicating the number of layers and the number of layer combinations for which the resource number constraint is configured; the first precoding information and the number of layers may indicate (floating), when the precoding type is non-codebook indicated by the use of the corresponding UL SRS resource set, the value and the number of layers of the first precoding signal may be empty or zero; otherwise, it may provide an index for the TPMI and the layer combination associated with the corresponding SRI; the second precoding information and the number of layers may be indicated as empty or zero; and / or a DMRS antenna port information indicator. Alternatively, an additional DMRS antenna port information indicator as a codepoint field may also be included as part of the DCI.

[0040] In various example embodiments, the first SRI may indicate (floating); when the first SRI is associated with the use of a non-codebook for the UL SRS set, it may be an index indicating the number of layers and the number of layer combinations for which the number of resource constraints are configured. When the first SRI is associated with the use of a codebook for the UL SRS set, it may be an index indicating one or more UL SRS resources for which the number of resources and ul-fullPowerTransmission mode constraints are configured. The second SRI may indicate (fixed: codebook), when the second SRI is associated with the use of a codebook for the UL SRS set, it may be an index indicating one or more UL SRS resources for which the number of resources and ul-fullPowerTransmission mode constraints are configured; the first precoding information and the number of layers may indicate (floating), when the precoding type is a non-codebook indicated by the use of the corresponding UL SRS resource set, the value and the number of layers of the first precoding signal may be empty or zero; otherwise, it may provide an index for the TPMI and the layer combination associated with the corresponding SRI; and the second precoding information and the number of layers may provide an index for the TPMI and the layer combination associated with the corresponding SRI.

[0041] In certain example embodiments, the first SRI and the second SRI may refer to the latest UL SRS transmission of a resource set usage (ie, codebook and non-codebook).

[0042] In some example embodiments, after receiving a UL S-DCI with a grant, when PUSCH-Config is configured as TXConfig=codebook+non-codebook, the UE may implicitly assume that when two different UL SRS resource sets (i.e., codebook and non-codebook) with different usages are indicated, the UE should send different PUSCH layers (e.g., DMRS access point (AP)) associated with using the SRS resources using the codebook indicated by the SRI and using the SRS resources using the non-codebook indicated by the SRI. In addition, the UE may implicitly assume that according to the layer ordering configured for the joint use of codebook-non-codebook, when the layer ordering is set to 1, the layers associated with the SRS resource set with usage=codebook may be ordered first before the layers associated with the SRS resource set with usage=non-codebook. In addition, when the layer ordering of the joint use indicated by the codebook-non-codebook is set to zero, the order of the layer associations may be reversed.

[0043] Figure 3 An example of a signaling diagram for an S-DCI based indication of simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH using different precoding types is illustrated. According to certain example embodiments, NE 320 and UE 310 may be similar to NE 610 and UE 620, such as Figure 6 shown in . Specifically, Figure 3 An example for enabling simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission with multiple precoding types is illustrated, where the UE 310 is equipped with four TX antenna arrangements, where one pair of antenna arrangements is associated with simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission with TRP1 and TPR2.

[0044] At 301 , UE 310 may indicate via an RRC-based capability report of NE 320 that UE 310 supports simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmissions using different precoding types jointly.

[0045] At 302, based on capability signaling reporting by UE 310, NE 320 may obtain information about UL SRS transmission capability (e.g., number of antenna ports) of UE 310 for each reported DL resource (e.g., NZP-CSI-RS or SSB (ie, DL TX beam direction)).

[0046] At 303, the UE 310 may be configured with a PUSCH-Config, where simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission may be enabled using different precoding types (ie, TXConfig = codebook + non-codebook).

[0047] At 304, based on the capability report for supporting the joint precoding type and the capability signaling report of UE 310, UE 310 may be configured to transmit using at least two UL SRS resource sets with different usages (e.g., set #1 with a codebook and set #2 without a codebook (i.e., non-codebook)). For example, set #1 with a codebook may have two SRS resources (i.e., SRI #1 has 2 APs and SRI #2 has 4 APs), while set #2 may be configured to use a non-codebook with 4 single AP resources (i.e., SRI #3, SRI #4, SRI #5, SRI #6). Each UL SRS resource set may be configured with followUnifiedTCIStateSRS-r17. In addition, some or all resources in resource set #1 may be configured with spatialRelationInfo associated with NZP-CSI-RS resources (NZP-CSI-RS resources are associated with TRP #1), and some or all resources in resource set #2 may be configured with spatialRelationInfo associated with NZP-CSI-RS resources (NZP-CSI-RS resources are associated with TRP #2). In addition, UL SRS resource set #2 (e.g., periodic / semi-persistent / aperiodic) may be associated with a DL NZP-CSI-RS resource ID for UL precoder determination at UE 310.

[0048] At 305, based on the two different configured UL SRS resource sets, UE 310 may send two different UL SRS resource sets with different usages (i.e., set #1: usage=codebook, set #2: usage=non-codebook) to two different TRPs (i.e., TRP1 and TRP2) simultaneously or separately in time. For the UL SRS resource set using non-codebook, UE 310 may calculate the precoder for transmission of SRS based on the measurement of the associated NZP CSI-RS resource.

[0049] At 306, after receiving two different UL SRS resource sets #1 and #2 (e.g., backhaul information exchange between TRP1 and TRP2 regarding SRS resources), NE 320 may determine the TPMI and rank associated with UL SRS resource set #1 (i.e., codebook) (i.e., different TPMI assumptions associated with rank), and may determine the SRI set associated with UL SRS resource set #2 (i.e., non-codebook) (i.e., defining precoder and rank). Therefore, after receiving a UL SRS resource set with a codebook used, NE 320 may need to perform different assumptions, which may include different TPMI+rank combinations (e.g., for 4 antenna port SRS), and NE 320 may need to perform 32 different assumptions to cover TPMIs from 0 to 31, and also to cover layers (i.e., ranks) from 0 to 4.

[0050] At 307, the NE 320 may indicate via an S-DCI (e.g., DCI 0_1) with a UL grant that the UE 310 may or should transmit PUSCH simultaneously via different SRS resources associated with different precoder types (i.e., codebook and non-codebook) with multiple antenna arrangements by using various DCI fields. For example, the DCI field may include an SRS resource set indicator, where a >0 bit may define simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission; otherwise, the second SRI and precoding and layer information may be invalid, and a single antenna arrangement transmission may be assumed.

[0051] In various example embodiments, the DCI field may also include an SRS resource indicator associated with a codebook-based or non-codebook-based PUSCH indication table, depending on the associated resource set usage (i.e., codebook or non-codebook), rather than based solely on a single value configured in PUSCH-Config. When the associated resource set is used with the use of a codebook, the codepoint field may indicate an SRI associated with the number of UL SRS resource antenna ports, which is constrained by the number of resources configured in the set and by the ul-FullPowerTransmission mode. In another example, when the associated resource set is used with the use of a non-codebook, the codepoint field may indicate an SRI constrained by the number of UL SRS resources.

[0052] In some example embodiments, the DCI field may also include precoding information and the number of layers; this may be invalid if the SRS resource indicator is associated with a UL SRS resource set using a non-codebook, otherwise the DCI field may indicate the TPMI index and the number of layers (i.e., rank) constrained by the ul-FullPowerTransmission mode.

[0053] The DCI field may also include a second resource indicator associated with a codebook-based or non-codebook-based PUSCH indication table, depending on the associated resource set usage (i.e., codebook or non-codebook). For example, when the associated resource set is used with the use of a codebook, the codepoint field may indicate an SRI associated with the number of UL SRS resource antenna ports, which is constrained by the number of resources configured in the set and by the ul-FullPowerTransmission mode. Alternatively, when the associated resource set is used with a non-codebook, the codepoint field may indicate an SRI constrained by the number of UL SRS resources.

[0054] In some example embodiments, the DCI field may include the second precoding information and the number of layers; if the SRS resource indicator is associated with a UL SRS resource set using = non-codebook, these fields may be invalid; otherwise, the DCI field may indicate the TPMI index and the number of layers (i.e., rank), which is subject to the constraints of the ul-FullPowerTransmission mode. Note that the layers associated with the first SRI and the second SRI or the first precoding information and the second precoding information may not depend on each other and may be indicated independently.

[0055] The DCI field may also include DMRS antenna port information; for example, the code point field may indicate the number of DMRS code division multiplexing (CDM) groups without data, as well as the number of DMRS ports and front loading symbols. Typically, the first SRI and the second SRI may refer to the latest UL SRS transmission for resource set usage (i.e., codebook and non-codebook).

[0056] At 308, after receiving the UL S-DCI with the grant, and when PUSCH-Config is configured as TXConfig=codebook+non-codebook, the UE 310 may implicitly assume that when two different UL SRS resource sets (i.e., codebook and non-codebook) with different usages are indicated, the UE 310 may send different PUSCH layers (e.g., DMRSAP) associated with the SRS resources with the usage of the codebook indicated by the SRI and the SRS resources with the usage of the non-codebook indicated by the SRI.

[0057] In some example embodiments, for SRI associated with codebook based transmission, UE 310 may determine its codebook subset based on TPMI and upon receiving the higher layer parameter codebookSubset in PUSCH-Config for PUSCH associated with DCI format 0_1.

[0058] According to the layer ordering configured for the joint use of codebook-non-codebook, when the layer ordering is set to 1, the layers associated with the SRS resource set using = codebook can be ordered first before the layers associated with the SRS resource set using = non-codebook. When the layer ordering of the joint use of codebook-non-codebook indication is set to zero, the order of layer association can be reversed.

[0059] In various example embodiments, depending on the configured layer ordering, when the layer ordering is set to 1, DMRS antenna ports associated with SRS resource sets using = codebook may be ordered first before layers associated with SIR resource sets using = non-codebook. When the layer ordering indication is set to zero, the order of layer associations may be reversed.

[0060] Typically, if the gap from the last symbol of the reception of the non-periodic NZP-CSI-RS resource to the first symbol of the non-periodic SRS transmission may be less than a predetermined number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, the UE 310 does not update the SRS precoding information of the SRS resources associated with the non-codebook.

[0061] Figure 4 An example of a flow chart of a method for S-DCI-based indication for simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH using different precoding types in conjunction with each other according to various example embodiments is illustrated, which method may be performed by a UE (such as Figure 6 Specifically, Figure 4 An example for enabling simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission with multiple precoding types is illustrated, where a UE may be equipped with four TX antenna arrangements, where one pair of antenna arrangements is associated with simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission with TRP1 and TPR2.

[0062] At 401, the method may include: via a NE (such as Figure 6 The RRC-based capability report of the UE 620 shown in FIG. 6 indicates that the UE supports simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission using different precoding types in combination.

[0063] At 402, the method may include the UE being configured with a PUSCH-Config, wherein simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission may be enabled using different precoding types (ie, TXConfig = codebook + non-codebook).

[0064] At 403, based on the capability report for supporting the joint precoding type and the capability signaling report of the UE, the method may include: the UE is configured to transmit using at least two UL SRS resource sets with different usages (e.g., set #1 with a codebook and set #2 without a codebook (i.e., non-codebook)). For example, set #1 with a codebook may have two SRS resources (i.e., SRI#1 has 2 APs and SRI#2 has 4 APs), while set #2 may be configured to use a non-codebook with 4 single AP resources (i.e., SRI#3, SRI#4, SRI#5, SRI#6). Each UL SRS resource set may be configured with followUnifiedTCIStateSRS-r17. In addition, some or all resources in resource set #1 may be configured with spatialRelationInfo associated with NZP-CSI-RS resources (NZP-CSI-RS is associated with TRP #1), and some or all resources in resource set #2 may be configured with spatialRelationInfo associated with NZP-CSI-LS resources (NZP-CSI-LS is associated with TRP #2). In addition, UL SRS resource set #2 (e.g., periodic / semi-persistent) may be associated with a DL NZP-CSI-RS resource ID for UL precoder determination at the UE.

[0065] At 404, based on the configured two different UL SRS resource sets, the method may include: sending two different UL SRS resource sets with different usage (i.e., set #1: usage=codebook, set #2: usage=non-codebook) to two different TRPs (i.e., TRP1 and TRP2) simultaneously or separately in time. For the UL SRS resource set using non-codebook, the UE may calculate the precoder for transmission of the SRS based on the measurement of the associated NZP CSI-RS resource.

[0066] At 405, the method may include receiving an indication via an S-DCI (e.g., DCI 0_1) with a UL grant indicating that the UE may or should transmit PUSCH simultaneously via different SRS resources associated with different precoder types (i.e., codebook and non-codebook) with multiple antenna arrangements using various DCI fields. For example, the DCI field may include an SRS resource set indicator, where a >0 bit may define simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission; otherwise, the second SRI and PRI may be invalid and a single antenna arrangement transmission may be assumed.

[0067] In various example embodiments, the DCI field may also include: an SRS resource indicator associated with a codebook-based or non-codebook-based PUSCH indication table, depending on the associated resource set usage (i.e., codebook or non-codebook), rather than based solely on a single value configured in PUSCH-Config.

[0068] In some example embodiments, the DCI field may also include precoding information and the number of layers; this may be invalid if the SRS resource indicator is associated with a UL SRS resource set using a non-codebook, otherwise the DCI field may indicate the TPMI index and the number of layers (i.e., rank) constrained by the ul-FullPowerTransmission mode.

[0069] The DCI field may also include a second resource indicator associated with a codebook-based or non-codebook-based PUSCH indication table, depending on the associated resource set usage (i.e., codebook or non-codebook).

[0070] In some example embodiments, the DCI field may include the second precoding information and the number of layers; if the SRS resource indicator is associated with a UL SRS resource set using = non-codebook, these fields may be invalid; otherwise, the DCI field may indicate the TPMI index and the number of layers (i.e., rank), which is subject to the constraints of the ul-FullPowerTransmission mode. Note that the layers associated with the first SRI and the second SRI or the first precoding information and the second precoding information may not depend on each other and may be indicated independently.

[0071] The DCI field may also include DMRS antenna port information; for example, the codepoint field may indicate the number of DMR SDM groups without data, as well as the number of DMRS ports and front-loaded symbols. Typically, the first SRI and the second SRI may refer to the latest UL SRS transmission using a resource set (i.e., codebook and non-codebook).

[0072] At 406, after receiving a UL S-DCI with a grant, and when PUSCH-Config is configured as TXConfig=codebook+non-codebook, the method may include implicitly assuming that, when two different UL SRS resource sets (i.e., codebook and non-codebook) with different usages are indicated, different PUSCH layers (e.g., DMRS APs) associated with SRS resources with usage of the codebook indicated by the SRI and SRS resources with usage of the non-codebook indicated by the SRI are transmitted.

[0073] In some example embodiments, for SRI associated with codebook based transmission, the UE may determine its codebook subset based on the TPMI and upon receiving the higher layer parameter codebookSubset in the PUSCH-Config for the PUSCH associated with DCI format 0_1.

[0074] According to the layer ordering configured for the joint use of codebook-non-codebook, when the layer ordering is set to 1, the layers associated with the SRS resource set using = codebook can be ordered first before the layers associated with the SRS resource set using = non-codebook. When the layer ordering of the joint use of codebook-non-codebook indication is set to zero, the order of layer association can be reversed.

[0075] In various example embodiments, depending on the configured layer ordering, when the layer ordering is set to 1, DMRS antenna ports associated with SRS resource sets using = codebook may be ordered first before layers associated with SIR resource sets using = non-codebook. When the layer ordering indication is set to zero, the order of layer associations may be reversed.

[0076] Generally, if the gap from the last symbol of the reception of the aperiodic NZP-CSI-RS resource to the first symbol of the aperiodic SRS transmission may be less than a predetermined number of OFDM symbols, the UE does not update the SRS precoding information of the SRS resources associated with the non-codebook.

[0077] Figure 5 An example of a flow chart of a method for S-DCI-based indication according to various example embodiments for joint use of different precoding types for simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH, which method may be performed by a NE (such as Figure 6 Specifically, Figure 5 An example for enabling simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission with multiple precoding types is illustrated, wherein a UE (such as Figure 6 The UE 620 shown in FIG. 6 is equipped with four TX antenna arrangements, where one pair of antenna arrangements is associated with simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmissions with TRP1 and TPR2.

[0078] At 501, the method may include receiving, via an RRC-based capability report of a NE, an indication that a UE supports simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission using different precoding types jointly.

[0079] At 502, based on capability signaling reporting by the UE, the method may include obtaining information about the UE's UL SRS transmission capability (e.g., number of antenna ports) for each reported DL resource (e.g., NZP-CSI-RS or SSB (i.e., DL TX beam direction).

[0080] At 503, the method may include sending a configuration, such as a PUSCH-Config, to the UE, where simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission may be enabled using different precoding types (ie, TXConfig = codebook + non-codebook).

[0081] At 504, based on the two different configured UL SRS resource sets, the method may include receiving two different UL SRS resource sets with different usages (i.e., set #1: usage = codebook, set #2: usage = non-codebook) to two different TRPs (i.e., TRP1 and TRP2) simultaneously or separately in time.

[0082] At 505, after receiving two different UL SRS resource sets #1 and #2 (e.g., backhaul information exchange between TRP1 and TRP2 regarding SRS resources), the method may include: determining the TPMI and rank associated with UL SRS resource set #1 (i.e., codebook) (i.e., different TPMI assumptions associated with the rank), and may determine the SRI set associated with UL SRS resource set #2 (i.e., non-codebook) (i.e., defining the precoder and rank). Therefore, after receiving a UL SRS resource set with a codebook used, the network may need to perform different assumptions, which may include different TPMI+rank combinations (e.g., for 4 antenna port SRS), and the network may need to make 32 different assumptions to cover TPMIs from 0 to 31, and also cover layers (i.e., ranks) from 0 to 4.

[0083] At 506, the method may include: indicating via an S-DCI (e.g., DCI 0_1) with a UL grant that the UE may or should transmit PUSCH simultaneously via different SRS resources associated with different precoder types (i.e., codebook and non-codebook) with multiple antenna arrangements by using various DCI fields. For example, the DCI field may include an SRS resource set indicator, where a >0 bit may define simultaneous multi-panel PUSCH transmission; otherwise, the second SRI and PRI may be invalid and a single antenna arrangement transmission may be assumed.

[0084] In various example embodiments, the DCI field may also include an SRS resource indicator associated with a codebook-based or non-codebook-based PUSCH indication table, depending on the associated resource set usage (i.e., codebook or non-codebook), rather than based solely on a single value configured in PUSCH-Config. When an associated resource set is used with the use of a codebook, the codepoint field may indicate an SRI associated with the number of UL SRS resource antenna ports, which is constrained by the number of resources configured in the set and by the ul-FullPowerTransmission mode. In another example, when an associated resource set is used with the use of a non-codebook, the codepoint field may indicate an SRI constrained by the number of UL SRS resources.

[0085] In some example embodiments, the DCI field may also include precoding information and the number of layers; this may be invalid if the SRS resource indicator is associated with a UL SRS resource set using a non-codebook, otherwise the DCI field may indicate the TPMI index and the number of layers (i.e., rank) constrained by the ul-FullPowerTransmission mode.

[0086] The DCI field may also include a second resource indicator associated with a codebook-based or non-codebook-based PUSCH indication table, depending on the associated resource set usage (i.e., codebook or non-codebook).

[0087] In some example embodiments, the DCI field may include the second precoding information and the number of layers; if the SRS resource indicator is associated with a UL SRS resource set using = non-codebook, these fields may be invalid; otherwise, the DCI field may indicate the TPMI index and the number of layers (i.e., rank), which is subject to the constraints of the ul-FullPowerTransmission mode. Note that the layers associated with the first SRI and the second SRI or the first precoding information and the second precoding information may not depend on each other and may be indicated independently.

[0088] The DCI field may also include DMRS antenna port information; for example, the codepoint field may indicate the number of DMR SDM groups without data, as well as the number of DMRS ports and front-loaded symbols. Typically, the first SRI and the second SRI may refer to the latest UL SRS transmission using a resource set (i.e., codebook and non-codebook).

[0089] At 507, after receiving the UL S-DCI with the grant, and when the PUSCH-Config is configured as TXConfig=codebook+non-codebook, the UE may implicitly assume that when two different UL SRS resource sets (i.e., codebook and non-codebook) with different usages are indicated, the NE may receive different PUSCH layers (e.g., DMRS APs) associated with SRS resources with the usage of the codebook indicated by the SRI and SRS resources with the usage of the non-codebook indicated by the SRI.

[0090] In some example embodiments, for SRI associated with codebook based transmission, the UE may determine its codebook subset based on the TPMI and upon receiving the higher layer parameter codebookSubset in the PUSCH-Config for the PUSCH associated with DCI format 0_1.

[0091] According to the layer ordering configured for the joint use of codebook-non-codebook, when the layer ordering is set to 1, the layers associated with the SRS resource set using = codebook can be ordered first before the layers associated with the SRS resource set using = non-codebook. When the layer ordering of the joint use of codebook-non-codebook indication is set to zero, the order of layer association can be reversed.

[0092] In various example embodiments, depending on the configured layer ordering, when the layer ordering is set to 1, DMRS antenna ports associated with SRS resource sets using = codebook may be ordered first before layers associated with SIR resource sets using = non-codebook. When the layer ordering indication is set to zero, the order of layer associations may be reversed.

[0093] Generally, if the gap from the last symbol of the reception of the aperiodic NZP-CSI-RS resource to the first symbol of the aperiodic SRS transmission may be less than a predetermined number of OFDM symbols, the UE does not update the SRS precoding information of the SRS resources associated with the non-codebook.
