Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a nut for a tube fitting coupling assembly for connecting at least one tube to another component of a fluid delivery circuit (such as a connector, pump, valve, manifold, etc.), the tube fitting coupling assembly being suitable for but not limited to use in corrosive and / or high purity fluid delivery circuits. Background Art
[0002] In the field of corrosive fluid delivery, coupling assemblies are known for connecting a tube to a main body of another component. Typically, these coupling assemblies include a ring portion that is mounted on the periphery of the tube and receives a curved end portion of the tube at one end, and wherein sealing is achieved by clamping the curved end portion of the tube axially against a receiving surface via the ring. In some embodiments, the ring is covered by a nut for further accommodating the tube; however, the nut is sometimes insufficient in terms of sealing, size, and interchangeability. Therefore, there is still a need for improved coupling assemblies. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0027] Figure 1 A connector assembly 1 according to an embodiment is shown. Figure 1As shown, a connector assembly 1 according to certain embodiments can be used to connect one or more tubes 10, 110, 210 to another component of the same fluid delivery circuit, and the connector assembly may include a body 2. The term "fluid delivery circuit" is understood here to mean a group of connecting conduits that can be traversed by a fluid. In multiple embodiments, the body 2 can be, for example, a pump, a valve, a fitting, a plug, a manifold, a coupler (particularly a T-shaped, I-shaped, L-shaped or U-shaped coupler) or a plug. The connector assembly 1 can be used to connect to the body 2, thereby forming a T-shaped connection with the three branches 20, 120, 220 of the three tubes 10, 110, 210. The body 2 may be provided with a through cavity extending in an axial direction. Then, the adjective "axial" and the adverb "axially" are used with reference to the direction of the axis of the cavity in question. With reference to the same cavity, the radial direction is defined as a direction orthogonal to the axis of the cavity and passing through the axis. The body 2 may include at least one through cavity, and the tubes 10, 110, 210 can be connected to the through cavity. The at least one through-going lumen may be formed by a single integral part or by several parts suitably fastened together. At least a portion of the lumen may form part of a fluid conveying circuit in the extension of the tube.
[0028] Still reference Figure 1 , at the first branch 20, the connector assembly 1 comprises: a body portion defining a through cylindrical cavity 30 having a central axis X1; a ring 40 adapted to be mounted at the periphery of the useful portion of the tube 10 and provided at one of its ends with a support surface 41 adapted to receive the curved end portion of the tube 15; an annular receiving portion 50 removably mounted in the cavity 30 of the body 2 and defining a receiving surface 54 for the curved end portion 15 of the tube 10; and a nut 60 adapted to cooperate with the ring 40 and to be screwed onto the body 2 so as to compress the curved end portion 15 of the tube 10 against the receiving surface 54 of the receiving portion 50 in the axial direction by means of the ring 40. In an embodiment, the connector assembly may also comprise a tube 10, 110, 210, one end portion of which may be bent back against the supporting surface of the ring 40. When the connector assembly 1 is in the mounted position, the ring 40, the nut 60 and at least the useful portion of the tube 10 may extend in the axial direction of the cavity of the body 2 on which they are mounted.
[0029] Still reference Figure 1, the ring 40 may be adapted to be mounted at the periphery of the useful part of the tube 10, 110, 210 and to receive the curved part of the tube 10, 110, 210 at one of its axial ends. "Useful part of the tube" here means a part of the tube 10, 110, 210 that forms a fluid delivery circuit and is therefore adapted to the actual delivery of the fluid. The curved part of the tube 10, 110, 210 may be designed to be compressed axially against the receiving surface in order to seal the system. According to the described embodiment, the receiving surface may be formed by an annular receiving portion 50, which is different from the main body 2 and is removably mounted on the main body. When the nut 60 is screwed onto the main body 2, the curved end portion of the tube 10, 110, 210 can therefore be compressed against the receiving portion 50 in the axial direction via the ring 40. Once the curved part of the tube 10, 110, 210 is clamped between the ring 40 and the receiving portion 50, a sealed joint is formed between the tube 10, 110, 210 and the receiving portion 50. Since the receiving portion 50 can be removable, the receiving surface can be changed to adapt to the diameter of different tubes 10, 110, 210 and thus to the corresponding ring 40, the body 2 can remain unchanged. According to the described embodiment, the connector assembly can be modular according to the needs of the user, which can be changed during the life of the body in question. For example, if the body is a pump, the connector assembly according to the described embodiment connects tubes of different diameters to the pump without having to modify the pump.
[0030] Still reference Figure 1 The cavity 30 (which communicates with other cavities of the body 2 and in particular with the through cavities of the second branch 120 and the third branch 220) comprises at least one main section 70 having a diameter D1 and a widened end section 80 having a diameter D2 greater than D1 (see Figure 2 ). The end section 80 is open outward at its rear end 80b and can be connected to the main section at its front end 80a by a shoulder 90. Figure 3 As illustrated, the shoulder 90 here comprises a first generally frustoconical portion 92 connected to the enlarged end section 80 and a second portion 93 extending radially (orthogonal to the axis X1) connected to the main section 70. Throughout the rest of the disclosure, the terms "front" and "rear" will be used with reference to the axial direction, the mounting of the ring 40 and of the nut 60 through the rear end of the through cavity 30 being carried out towards the front (towards the body).
[0031] Figure 2 is based on Figure 1 Example cross section of II. Figure 3 yes Figure 2 A view of the details of III. Figure 2 and Figure 3As shown, the widened end section 80 of the cavity may be provided with an internal thread 81 at its rear end 80b, the function of which will be described in detail below. Figure 2 As best illustrated in FIG. 4 , the ring 40 forms a tubular sleeve whose axis coincides, in the mounted position, with the axis X1 of the cavity 30 of the body 2. The ring 40 can surround the useful portion 14 of the tube where the tube 10 is cylindrical with an inner diameter D3 and an outer diameter D4 (see FIG. Figure 2 ). In order to enable the ring 40 to be mounted on the tube 10, the ring has an inner diameter D5 that is substantially equal to or slightly greater than the outer diameter D4 of the tube 10. The front end 40a of the ring 40, which is directed toward the body 2 in the mounted position, forms a support surface 41 suitable for receiving the curved end portion 15 of the tube 10. In an embodiment, the front end 40a of the ring 40, which is directed toward the body 2 in the mounted position, forms a support surface 41 suitable for receiving only the curved end portion 15 of the tube 10. In this embodiment (see in particular Figure 3 ), the axial end 40a of the ring 40 may be circular, the support surface 41 having an axial semicircular cross section with a radius of curvature r1 equal to half the thickness e4 of the ring. According to a variant (not shown), the end 40a of the ring 40 may have any other suitable shape. This end may, for example, have an axial section in the form of a point with a circular end, the radius of which is less than e4 / 2. In an embodiment, the end portion 15 of the tube 10 may be bent around the support surface 41, so that the axial end surface 15a of the bent portion 15 has a semicircular axial cross section with a radius of curvature r2 equal to the radius of curvature r1 of the support surface 41 of the ring 40, the thickness of the tube 10 increases.
[0032] Still reference Figure 2 and Figure 3 , the nut 60 may be a separate part from the ring 40, which is configured to be mounted at the periphery of the ring 40 and is provided with a thread 61, in this case an external thread, suitable for cooperating by screwing with the internal thread 81 of the body 2. As illustrated in the figure, the nut 60 may not be in contact with the tube 10. More specifically, the nut 60 may be suitable for engaging on the ring 40 through the rear end 40b of the ring 40 opposite the support surface 41. It should be understood that during the installation of the assembly 1, the nut 60 may be engaged on the tube 10 before the ring 40 or simultaneously with the ring.
[0033] like Figure 2As best shown in FIG. 4 , in order to enable the mounting of the nut 60, the ring 40 has at least one mounting section 42 extending from the rear end 40b, having an outer diameter D6 substantially equal to or less than the inner diameter D7 of the nut 6. At least one portion 43 of said section 42 (in this embodiment, the entire length) has an outer diameter substantially equal to the inner diameter of the nut 60. At the same time, and as indicated above, the nut 60 may be adapted to cooperate with the ring 40 so as to displace the ring as a whole in the axial direction X. For this purpose, the ring 40 may be provided with abutment members with which the nut 60 may be adapted to axially cooperate so as to displace the ring 40 as a whole in the axial direction. In this embodiment, these abutment members comprise annular and continuous circumferential ribs 44 formed at the periphery of the ring 40, in the vicinity of the front end 40a of the bearing support surface 41 of said ring 40. According to an embodiment, the ribs 44 may be dimensioned so as to bear radially against the inner surface of the body 2 in the mounted position, thereby enabling pre-positioning of the ring before mounting the nut.
[0034] Still reference Figure 2 and Figure 3 , a removable receiving portion 50 having an annular shape can be mounted inside the cavity 30 of the main body 2. The receiving portion 50 can be configured to cooperate positively with the main body 2. For this purpose, and as Figure 2 As illustrated, the receiving portion 50 comprises a cylindrical radially outer surface 51 having a diameter D8 substantially identical to the diameter D2 of the widened end section 80, which ensures blocking of the receiving portion relative to the body 2 in the radial direction. Figure 3 As shown, the receiving portion 50 also comprises a front surface 52 facing the inside of the body 2 and shaped so as to bear at least partially on the shoulder 90 .
[0035] like Figure 2 and Figure 3 As shown, the seal between the receiving part 50 and the main body 2 can be achieved here by the cooperation of the annular rib 53 protruding from the front surface 52 of the receiving part and the groove 91 formed in the surface of the second part 93 of the shoulder 90. According to yet another embodiment, the receiving part 50 or the main body 2 can be provided with at least one male element and another male element, and the receiving part or the main body can be provided with a female element, which is suitable for cooperating with the male element by clamping to achieve the seal between the two parts. For example, as Figure 2As best shown in , the receiving portion 50 may be provided with an annular rib 53, and the main body 2 may be provided with a groove 91, the rib 53 being adapted to be clamped radially and axially in the groove 91 to ensure sealing. According to another embodiment, the sealing member may include a seal, in particular an O-ring, which may be placed between the receiving portion 50 and the main body 2. According to another embodiment, the cavity of the main body 2 may include a main section and a widened end section opening outward. The main body 2 may then have a shoulder between the main section and the end section. In this case, the sealing member may provide a seal between the receiving portion 50 and the shoulder of the main body 2. According to yet another embodiment, the receiving portion 50 may be adapted to be mounted inside the main body 2 to bear against the shoulder, in particular on the portion of the shoulder that carries the sealing member. According to another specific embodiment, the main body 2 and the receiving portion 50 may be configured to cooperate positively so as to lock the receiving portion relative to the main body 2 in a radial direction.
[0036] This sealing system also allows avoiding any radial deformation of the receiving portion 50 which could lead to the formation of stagnation zones that could interfere with the flow of the fluid. Alternatively, the seal between the receiving portion and the body can be achieved by any other suitable system, for example, by a gasket compressed in at least one groove formed in one of the receiving portion and the body and another portion compressible against the other of the receiving portion and the body.
[0037] Still reference Figure 2 and Figure 3 As indicated previously, the receiving portion 50 thus bears against a portion of the shoulder 90, and more specifically against a second portion 93 of the shoulder, which second portion comprises the groove 91 and which can also be directly opposite the shoulder zone of the receiving surface for receiving the curved portion of the tube. In this way, the body 2 and the receiving portion 50 can be configured to cooperate positively so as to lock the receiving portion relative to the body 2 in the radial direction. The receiving portion 50 also comprises a rear surface 54 forming a receiving surface directed toward the open end of the cavity 30, on which the curved end portion 15 of the tube 10 can be clamped under the action of the nut 60 being screwed on the body 2. The receiving portion 50 also comprises a rear surface 54 forming a receiving surface directed toward the open end of the cavity 30, on which the curved end portion 15 of the tube 10 can be clamped when the nut 60 is screwed on the body 2.
[0038] like Figure 3 As best illustrated in FIG. 5 , the receiving surface 54 may include an annular groove 55, in particular a groove having a curved axial cross section, configured to positively cooperate with the compression end portion 15 of the tube 10. Figure 3 In the illustrated embodiment, the groove 55 has at least one section that is in the form of a semicircle having a radius of curvature r2.
[0039] Finally, the receiving portion 50 comprises a useful radial inner surface (hereinafter useful surface) 56 intended to form a junction between the useful portion 14 of the tube 10 and the main section 70 of the cavity 30. In other words, Figure 3 As illustrated, the rear end 56b of the useful surface may be in contact with or flush with the inner surface of the useful portion 15 of the tube 10, and the front end 56a of the useful surface 56 may be in contact with or flush with the inner surface of the main section 70. It should be understood that the receiving portion 50 may then define a portion of the fluid circulation loop with its useful inner surface. In this case, the receiving portion 50 may preferably be shaped so that the junction between the main section of the cavity and the useful portion of the tube 10, 110, 210 may be gradual (without a sudden break) in order to avoid the formation of a recess and thus a stagnant area that may disrupt the flow of the fluid.
[0040] In an embodiment, the inner diameter D3 of the tube 10 and the diameter D1 of the main section 70 of the cavity 30 of the body may be substantially the same. Thus, the useful surface 56 may be precisely aligned with the inner surface of the tube 10 and the inner surface of the cavity 30, and the three elements form a cylindrical conduit with a constant diameter. In the case where the inner diameter of the tube 10 and the diameter of the main section of the cavity of the body 2 may be substantially the same, the effective inner surface of the receiving portion 50 may be cylindrical, and its diameter may be substantially equal to the inner diameter of the main section. According to another embodiment, when the inner diameter of the tube 10 and the diameter of the main section of the cavity of the body 2 may be different, the effective inner surface of the receiving portion 50 may be extended over at least a portion of the axial length of the receiving portion. For example, the effective inner surface may have a generally truncated conical shape over at least one axial section.
[0041] In order to further improve the seal between the tube 10 and the receiving portion 50, the receiving portion may have an annular groove, in particular a groove with a curved axial cross section, which is configured to cooperate positively with the compressed end portion of the tube 10. The positive fit between the receiving surface 50 and the curved portion of the tube 10 increases the contact area between the two parts, thus reducing the risk of leakage.
[0042] Still reference Figure 2 and Figure 3According to another embodiment, the nut 60 may be configured to be threaded inside the cavity of the body 2. This configuration allows the compactness of the connector assembly to be increased. In addition, the mechanical stress in the nut can be reduced, and the applied force is consistent with the axial clamping force of the curved portion of the pipe 10 on the receiving portion 50. According to another embodiment, the nut 60 may be formed integrally with the ring 40, or conversely, the nut may be different from the ring 40. In the latter case, the nut 60 may be adapted to cooperate with the ring 40 so as to drive the ring as a whole in the axial direction. According to another embodiment, the nut 60 may not contact the pipe 10. Therefore, when the nut 60 is threaded, the pipe 10 may not be damaged. According to another specific embodiment, the nut 60 may be configured to be installed on the periphery of the ring 40, and the ring 40 may be provided with an abutment member, and the nut 60 may be adapted to cooperate with the abutment member so as to displace the ring 40 as a whole in the axial direction. In the case where the nut 60 is installed on the periphery of the ring 40, the same nut can be used with rings 40 of different inner diameters adapted to pipes 10 of different diameters. Due to these arrangements, several rings and possibly several different receiving portions can be combined with a single body 2 and a single nut 60 in order to adapt the system to pipes of different diameters. The abutment member can comprise, for example, ribs formed at the periphery of the ring 40, in particular ribs extending over the entire circumference of the ring 40.
[0043] Still refer to Figure 2 and Figure 3 The nut 60 may include an annular nut body 61 oriented along the central axis X1. The annular nut body 61 may include an axial protrusion 65 and a radial protrusion 67, which is arranged axially adjacent to the axial protrusion 65. The axial protrusion 65 may include an engagement portion 62 and an end portion 64. The engagement portion 62 may include a thread, which may include an external thread or an internal thread. Figure 2 and Figure 3 As shown, the threads 62 can be external threads. The threads 62 can be adapted to engage with a complementary engagement portion (e.g., threads) in the body 2. Such engagement can secure and / or lock the nut 60 and the body 2 together. In various embodiments, the end portion 64 can provide a seal against an adjacent component (e.g., the body 2). The end portion 64 can have an arcuate cross-section. The end portion 64 can have an arcuate cross-section.
[0044] Still reference Figure 2 and Figure 3, the radial protrusion 67 may include a first flange 67A protruding radially inward. The radial protrusion 67 may include a second flange 67B protruding radially outward. In multiple embodiments, the first flange 67A can provide a seal against an adjacent component (e.g., the ring 40). Due to the seal provided by at least one of the first flange 67A or the first end portion 64, the nut provides a leakage rate of between 100cc / min and 500cc / min via the first flange 67A to seal against at least one of the ring 40 or the end portion 64 to the body 3. The first flange 67A may have a straight cross-section. The first flange 67A may have an arcuate cross-section. The second flange 67B may have a straight cross-section. The second flange 67B may have an arcuate cross-section. In addition, as Figure 3 As shown, the first flange 67A of the nut 60 may include a bead 66 that provides a seal against the adjacent groove 46 of the ring 40. Alternatively, the bead may be located on the ring 40 and the groove may be located on the nut 60. Thus, there may be multiple sealing positions within the connector assembly 1. The first sealing position may axially tighten the annular rib 53 of the receiving portion 50 into the groove 91 of the body 2. The second sealing position may be axially tightened by clamping the tube 10 between the ring 40 and the receiving portion 50. The third sealing position may radially tighten the nut 60 on the body 2. The fourth sealing position may axially tighten the nut 60 on the ring 40.
[0045] Still reference Figure 2 and Figure 3 In various embodiments, the second flange 67B may include an axially oriented tab 68 that is radially disposed and adapted to lock the nut against an adjacent component (e.g., the body 2). The axially oriented tab 68 may have a straight cross-section. The axially oriented tab 68 may have an arcuate cross-section. In various embodiments, the axially oriented tab 68 may include a bridge portion 68A and a head portion 68B. The structure and dimensions of the nut 60 may be described in further detail below.
[0046] As will be explained below, the connector assembly 1 according to the described embodiment allows pipes of different diameters to be connected to the same cavity 30 of the body 2. To do this, it is only necessary to adapt the receiving portion 50 and the ring 40 to the diameter of the pipe to be connected. Figure 1 In the example of the embodiment of the present invention, the cylindrical cavity 130 of the second branch 120 of the body 2 has the same structure and size as the above-mentioned cavity 30. However, the diameter of the tube 110 connected to the second cavity is smaller than the diameter of the tube 10. In particular, the inner diameter D3' of the tube 110 may be smaller than the inner diameter D1 of the main section of the cavity 130.
[0047] Figure 4 is based on Figure 1 Example cross section of IV. In other words, Figure 4The connection of the tube 110 according to various embodiments is illustrated in more detail. Figure 5 yes Figure 4 In these figures, combined with the Figure 2 and Figure 3 Elements which are identical or similar to those described are designated by the same reference numerals incremented by 100 and are not described again below.
[0048] like Figure 4 As shown, a ring 140 can be mounted at the periphery of the useful portion 114 of the tube 110. The inner diameter of this ring can be substantially equal to or slightly greater than the outer diameter of the tube 110. As in the previous embodiment, a nut 160 identical to the above-described nut 60 can be adapted to be mounted on the mounting section 142 of the ring 140. In order to save material of the ring on the one hand, and to limit the friction between the ring 140 and the nut 160 on the other hand, only a portion 143 of said mounting section 142 has an outer diameter substantially equal to the inner diameter of the nut, so that the nut 160 can bear on this portion. Likewise, as in the previous example, the receiving portion 150 has a useful inner surface 156, which is intended to form a joint between the useful portion 114 of the tube 110 and the main section 170 of the cavity 130.
[0049] In this example, the useful surface 156 expands over at least a portion of its axial length, in particular towards the front, due to the difference in diameter between the tube 110 and the main section 170 of the cavity 130. In other words, the useful surface 156 has a spacing c from the axis X that increases from its rear end 156b or a point between said rear end 156b and its front end 156a towards its front end 156a.
[0050] exist Figure 4 and Figure 5 In the example of , more specifically, the useful surface 156 comprises a first cylindrical portion 157 connected to the inner surface of the tube 110 extending from its rear end 156b, and a second portion 158 located directly in the extension of the expanded shape of the first portion 157, the expanded shape being generally truncated conical. According to other variants, the useful surface 156 may also include an expanded portion of different shapes, for example, the useful surface 156 may include an expanded portion with a curved profile. It should be noted that if, unlike in the previous description, the diameter of the tube to be connected is greater than the diameter of the main section of the cavity, the receiving portion may also be configured so that the useful inner surface of the receiving portion expands toward the rear.
[0051] Figure 6 is based on Figure 1 Example cross section of II. In this figure, combined with Figure 2 and Figure 3Elements that are the same or similar to those described are designated by the same reference numerals and are not described again below.
[0052] like Figure 6 As shown, alternative configurations of the ring (40) may provide improved performance in certain circumstances. For example, Figure 6 The interface of the ring (40) and the curved end portion (15) of the tube (10) is shown. The ring (40) may have a beveled or chamfered surface (45) at the interface with the curved end portion (15) of the tube (10). Thus, the ring (40) may only partially contact the curved end portion (15) of the tube (10) at the interface, so that the ring (40) may not contact the curved end portion (15) of the tube (10) over the entire surface of the curved end portion (15) of the tube (10). This feature may provide a better seal while reducing damage to the tube (10), which may result in improved sealing performance of the connector assembly and enhanced durability of the tube (10). Although Figure 6 Ring (40) is shown, but the design can also be used for Figure 4 and Figure 5 Thus, the connector assembly described above allows for the connection of different diameter tubes on the same size through-lumen by simply changing the receiving portion and the ring on which the tube turns, while the nut can be retained for use with these different tubes.
[0053] Figure 7 is a perspective view of another example connector assembly for a tube according to one embodiment. Figure 2 and Figure 3 Elements that are identical or similar to those described are referred to by the same reference numerals incremented by 700 and are not described again below. The first flange 767A may have a straight cross-section. The first flange 767A may have an arcuate cross-section. The second flange 767B may have a straight cross-section. The second flange 767B may have an arcuate cross-section. In multiple embodiments, the first flange 767A may have a width W FF , and the second flange 767B may have a width W SF , and where W SF >W FF , such as W SF >1.5W FF , such as W SF >2W FF , such as W SF >3W FF , or such as W SF >5W FF In various embodiments, as described below, the second flange 767B may have a width W that varies around the circumference of the annular nut body 761. In particular, the fluorinated polymer may be selected from fluorinated ethylene-propylene (FEP), ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE), polytetrafluoroethylene perfluoro-propyl vinyl ether (PFA), polytetrafluoroethylene-perfluoromethyl vinyl ether (MFA), polytetrafluoroethylene polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), ethylene trifluorochloroethylene (ECTFE), polytrifluorochloroethylene (PCTFE), or a combination thereof. Fluoropolymers allow the possibility of contamination to be avoided, which may be advantageous for high purity applications. Fluoropolymers also have the advantage of being resistant to chemicals, particularly acids, such as (H 2 SO 4 ), hydrofluoric acid (HF) or phosphoric acid (H 3 PO 4 ). It should be noted that nut 60 and ring 40 may also be made of fluoropolymers, although fluoropolymers are not intended to be in direct contact with fluids.
[0061] According to one embodiment, the receiving portion 50 may be made of one material selected from the group consisting of polytetrafluoroethylene perfluoropropyl vinyl ether (PFA), polytetrafluoroethylene-perfluoromethyl vinyl ether (MFA), and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), or a combination thereof.

[0067] According to another embodiment, the ring 40 may be made of a material selected from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE), ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE), polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), polytetrafluoroethylene perfluoropropyl vinyl ether (PFA), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), or a combination thereof.
[0068] According to another embodiment, the nut 60 may be made of ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) or polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) or a combination thereof.
[0069] According to another embodiment, the body 2 may be made of polytetrafluoroethylene perfluoro-propyl vinyl ether (PFA) or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or a combination thereof.
[0070] According to a particular embodiment, the receiving portion 50 can therefore be made of a more flexible material than the body 2, the rigidity of which must be sufficient to ensure good resistance by being screwed with the nut 60. The receiving portion 50 can also be made of a more flexible material than the ring 40 (in other words, the receiving portion 50 can be made of a material whose Young's modulus is less than that of the material forming the ring 40), thus ensuring a better stamping action and therefore a better seal during tightening.
[0071] According to one embodiment, the connector assembly can be adapted for use in a circuit conveying toxic and / or corrosive fluids, in particular fluids of the type that can be used in the semiconductor industry where sealing requirements are very stringent. Liquid chemicals used in semiconductor manufacturing are, for example, solvents for cleaning or degreasing operations, such as trichloroethylene, acetone, etc., and acids and / or bases for semiconductor etching or performing surface preparation and regeneration, such as sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, etc.
[0072] It is noteworthy that the use of nuts 60, 160, 760, 860 can provide simplification of the coupling assembly 1, 701 by eliminating parts and increasing the simplicity of the assembly. In addition, the use of nuts 60, 160, 760, 860 can improve the required assembly force, compensate for axial tolerances and correct misalignment between adjacent parts, and provide noise reduction and vibration decoupling in the coupling assembly 1, 701 by preventing undesired movement between adjacent parts. In addition, nuts 60, 160, 760, 860 are simple to install and can be retrofitted in several possible assemblies of different complexity, reusable and cost-effective, because the circumferential crack 885 (together with the bridge portion 861C) can allow the nut 860 to be easily coupled to the connector assembly described herein, while providing the ability to retrofit and maintain the sealing of the connector assembly above the existing connector assembly 1, 701 with pipes of different diameters and sizes. Finally, the use of nuts 60, 160, 760 can reduce the leakage rate, thereby increasing the life of the coupling assembly 1, 701.
