Abstract

This invention provides a method for stabilizing additively manufactured objects. In some embodiments, the method includes: manufacturing an object (202, 302, 502) from at least one curable material (206) using an additive manufacturing process, wherein the maximum thickness of the object is no greater than 5 mm. The method may include surrounding the object with a filler material (504, 604, 808), wherein the filler material spatially constrains the object to inhibit deformation of the object. The method may further include applying energy (510, 610, 814) to the object while it is surrounded by the filler material, wherein the energy alters at least one material property of the object.
