Electric vehicle charging controller and charging control method

Abstract

An electric vehicle charging controller (EVCC) according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a charging sequence signal 1 (CSS1) detection unit for sensing a first charging sequence signal received from an electric vehicle power supply device (EVSE) via a CSS1 line; a CSS2 detection unit for sensing a second charging sequence signal received from the EVSE via a CSS2 line; a negative voltage detection unit for detecting a negative voltage near a connector detection line; and a control unit for determining that the protective ground (PE) between the EVSE and the electric vehicle charging controller is disconnected when the voltage value detected by the negative voltage detection unit is within a predetermined value.
