Description

The invention relates to a lock for a door or flap on a motor vehicle or building, the lock housing of which is equipped with a rotary latch mounted rotatably about a striker and a pawl securing the rotary latch in its end position, wherein the rotary latch or partial regions thereof has a casing made of plastic, which casing is designed to leave a metal locking surface in the contact region between the rotary latch and the pawl, the casing of the rotary latch being designed as a brush-like projection in the region of incidence of the pawl and thus acting on the locking surface of the pawl.Locks of this type serve for temporarily closing openings in motor vehicles and also in buildings with the aid of doors or flaps. These locks usually consist of a locking mechanism which consists of a rotary latch and a pawl as well as the locking bolt. In the closed state of such a lock, the rotary latch engages with its load arm around the locking bolt, which is in particular of bow-shaped design. In this case, the rotary latch also pulls the locking bolt against the force of a door seal in the direction of the motor vehicle lock, wherein it is then blocked by means of the pawl in such a way that unintentional opening is ruled out. In order to reduce the so-called crayons which can arise as a result of dust entering the lock region, the contact region between the rotary latch and the pawl is designed such that the plastic sheathing which is usually used makes it possible for metal to rest on metal in this contact region. When dust particles are added, regardless of which diameter, the mentioned noise loads can also occur in such a metal surface, so that further measures are required. It is known from EP 1 500 762 A2 to provide damping means in the form of protrusions of the casing at the edges of the stop surfaces between the rotary latch and the pawl for noise damping. However, these protrusions only lead to noise attenuation when the lock is closed, but not to the prevention of the noise nuisance caused by the dust grains. Similar protrusions are also known from DE 10 2008 014 405 A1.With the aid of a rotary latch or casing of the rotary latch constructed in this way, it is possible to freely sweep the blocking surface of the pawl when it is dropped into the main latching position and consequently to free it from corresponding dust coatings causing the craze. The corresponding projection works like a sliding brush or also a corresponding sliding edge, so that when the locking pawl drops, its locking surface is correspondingly freed from the dust. The projection is made of plastic and thus ensures an approximately hundred percent clearance of dust for the locking surface of the pawl, depending on its design, so that the dust can then no longer have a disadvantageous effect. When the pawl is dropped into the locking position to secure the end position of the ratchet, contact occurs between the ratchet and the pawl in a precisely defined contact region provided for this purpose. In order to be able to secure this contact region even in any situation, the invention provides that the pawl has a nose projecting in the direction of the rotary latch on the end side, which nose is designed to secure the contact zone of the locking surface and the metal locking surface. If this nose of the pawl abuts the wall of the rotary latch, the metal locking surface and the locking surface are thus positioned as required such that metal always comes to rest on metal, namely such that otherwise disadvantageous noise loads are avoided or at least partially avoided. This also ensures at the same time that the brush-like projection described further above can always safely complete its cleaning work before the locking position is finally reached. The publication DE 10 2008 014 405 A1 describes a locking mechanism component for a motor vehicle lock, in particular a pawl or rotary latch, which consists of a base body and an outer layer. The base body has a leg with an extension from a base up to a blocking surface, wherein the material thickness of the leg is reduced towards the blocking surface. The outer layer, usually made of plastic, is designed such that it forms a flat outer surface over the regions of different material thickness and contributes to noise attenuation. In addition, the outer layer can be provided adjacent to the blocking surface with a protrusion which dampens the impact contact with other components. The blocking surface itself remains metallic and is partially exposed from the outer layer in order to ensure a defined metal contact. The publication thus discloses a combination of structural material optimisation and functional sheathing for improving the operating and noise properties of a lock. The object of the invention is to provide a lock for a door or flap which ensures reliable securing of the end position of the rotary latch and at the same time creates a stable, noise-reduced and functionally reliable contact zone between the rotary latch and the pawl. In this case, it is to be ensured in particular that the locking surface of the pawl is kept free of disruptive particles such as dust, in order to enable a defined metallic contact surface between pawl and rotary latch. In addition, the construction should be designed such that the positioning of the pawl in the contact region takes place reproducibly and mechanically secured. The object is achieved according to the invention in that, in an article according to paragraph 1 of the description, the pawl has at its end a nose which projects in the direction of the rotary latch and which is designed to secure the contact zone of the locking surface and the metal locking surface. In detail, according to claim 1, the object of the invention is achieved in that a lock for a door or flap on a motor vehicle or building is provided, the lock housing of which is equipped with a catch mounted rotatably about a striker and a pawl securing the catch in its end position, wherein the catch or partial regions thereof has a casing made of plastic, which is designed to leave a casing-free metal locking surface in the contact region between the catch and the pawl, wherein the casing of the catch is designed as a brush-like projection in the region of incidence of the pawl and thus acts on the locking surface of the pawl, wherein the pawl has a nose projecting in the direction of the catch at the end side, which nose is designed to secure the contact zone of the locking surface and the metal locking surface, wherein the protrusion has a free end.According to an expedient embodiment, it is provided that the metal blocking surface of the rotary latch is beveled in the region of the brush-like projection. As a result of this chamfer, the brush-like projection is given sufficient movement clearance, so that it has advantageous flexibility and thus better mode of operation. On the other hand, the metal blocking surface or its chamfered edge acts as a securing means, so that the brush-like projection cannot move away either.A further expedient embodiment provides that the metal blocking surface of the rotary latch is designed to be spherical in the region of the brush-like projection. This embodiment also makes it possible to leave the brush-like projection the necessary mobility or, more precisely, the necessary flexibility, in order to ensure in any case that, when the locking pawl falls into the corresponding locking position, the locking surface is also "released".The advantageous scraping effect is in particular reliably achieved if the projection is formed tapering to a point at the free end according to the invention. This results in a sharp, because narrow edge, which ensures that even adhering dust is securely abraded or scraped off when the locking pawl is pivoted into its locking position. It is advantageous if the free end of the projection is designed to be slightly curved toward the metal blocking surface. This slight bending benefits the cleaning process and at the same time ensures that, for example, even in the event of a sudden fall of the locking pawl, the projection cannot buckle in any form and / or bend in the wrong direction. Rather, it is always held in the correct position and then ensures that the dirt is scraped off or removed from the blocking surface of the pawl in the direction of the pawl itself. In particular in the case of dry dust, it is advantageous if the free end of the projection is formed from a multiplicity of plastic webs or else threads, with the result that even greater flexibility is achieved therewith without adversely affecting the scraping operation or cleaning effect. The necessary scraping force when the locking pawl falls on its locking surface is thus reduced, wherein it is then ensured in any case that the remaining region is nevertheless freed of dust when the dust particles are firmly baking. To secure the mentioned contacts of the metal surfaces, it is provided that the sheathing is designed to surround the metal blocking surface in a bead-like manner. In addition to the rounded projection, the surrounds of the metal blocking surface of the rotary latch thus also act as "dust protection" and disadvantageous noise loads are effectively prevented. Above all in the event of a crash, the metal-to-metal contact is present to a full extent and the safety regulations are thus ensured.According to a further expedient embodiment, it is provided that the metal locking surface is formed in a type of pocket which has bead-like protrusions running at right angles to the direction of movement of the locking pawl. In this way, there is also, in addition to the rounded projection, a further support and thus dust protection, which is reduced to the required extent and can be achieved easily, so that this embodiment is additionally distinguished by a simple production method. It is made clear further in the front that the rotary latch is equipped with a casing made of plastic, wherein only the metal surfaces necessary for the extreme load situation are left free in the contact regions. The same is also to be provided expediently for the pawl, for which purpose the invention teaches that the pawl has a plastic casing which is designed to leave its metal surface or contact surface free in the region of the locking surface. A clearly defined load range is thus also available with the pawl, where the required metal-to-metal contact is always achieved if this is required for operation. The particularly arc-like shape of the projection made of sheathing material, also mentioned above, is ensured in particular in that the metal blocking surface of the rotary latch is designed to be spherical on the side toward the projection and to run more flatly toward the opposite side toward the recess. This also has the advantage that the surface size important for the metal-metal contact can be precisely specified and maintained, although the metal blocking surface is not formed as a whole at right angles, but rather chamfered or crowned. The invention is distinguished in particular in that a contact region between the rotary latch and the pawl is created which is designed and processed in such a way that disadvantageous noise loads due to dust that has penetrated can occur only to a very small extent, if at all. For the first time, it is provided to clean sweep or clean shave at least one of the two metal surfaces in the provided contact area before the contact is reached. When falling into the main ratchet position, the locking surface of the pawl is cleaned or, more precisely, scraped off and thus freed of the dust coating causing the crazing. The dust covering is rendered harmless in that the corresponding locking surface of the locking pawl normally essentially rests on the bulges, so that no craying can then occur.Further details and advantages of the subject matter of the invention will become apparent from the following description of the associated drawing, in which a preferred exemplary embodiment with the necessary details and individual parts is shown. The following are shown: FIG. 1 shows a lock with a locking mechanism consisting of a rotary latch and a pawl, FIG. 2 shows the enlarged representation of the contact region between the rotary latch and the pawl with a brush-like projection, FIG. 3 shows the rotary latch with the securing nose in the contact region for the pawl, FIG. 4 is an enlarged view of the corresponding metal blocking surface, FIG. 5 is a detailed drawing of the brush-like projection, FIG. 6 shows a rotary latch with an embedded metal blocking surface, and FIG. 7 is the enlarged representation according to FIG. 6 with a rounded projection.FIG. 1 shows the lock 1 with its lock housing 2, which is here installed in a motor vehicle door 3 that is only indicated. The locking mechanism 4 consisting of the catch 5 and the pawl 7 is inserted in the lock housing 2, it being possible to see that the catch 5 securely encompasses the locking bolt 6. The locking bolt 6 is fixed by means of the rotary latch 5 which, after reaching the locking position, is pivoted around the locking bolt 6 in order then to effectively fix the motor vehicle door to the chassis. After this end position has been reached, the pawl 7 of the locking mechanism 4 then ensures that the rotary latch 5 is not unintentionally pivoted out of its closed position or can pivot out. The rotary latch mouth 8 receiving the locking bolt 6 is shown here in the position where it is open towards the bottom. The rotary latch 5 itself is provided with a jacket 9 as a whole, which is made of a plastic material having the necessary hardness and sufficient flexibility. The rotary latch 6 is provided with a bore for pivoting purposes, which bore allows the rotary latch axle 19 to be received. The load arm of the rotary latch is designated by 11 and the contact area between the rotary latch 5 and the pawl 7 is designated by 12.This contact region 12 is shown enlarged in FIG. 2, wherein here the rotary latch 5 is provided with a casing 9 and the pawl 7 is provided with a plastic casing 26. It can be seen that in the position shown here, the pawl 7 is brought into a position where it is placed in a securing manner around the projecting shoulder or the securing nose of the rotary latch 5 or engages the latter. For this purpose, the head of the pawl 7 is equipped with a recess 18 and a nose 27. This nose 27 ensures that the same end position is always maintained when the locking pawl 7 is pivoted in, so that the metal locking surface 14 comes to rest on the locking surface 16 in the contact region 12. When the pawl 7 is inserted with its recess 18 around the projecting shoulder 13, the brush-like projection 15 made of sheathing material becomes effective. This will be explained again in detail further below. In any event, as already mentioned, the contact surface 17 of the blocking surface 16 comes into intimate contact with the metal blocking surface 14 of the rotary latch 5.FIG. 3 shows the rotary latch 5 known from FIG. 1 in a perspective representation, wherein it becomes clear that here the brush-like projection 15 is formed so as to taper to a point, so that an edge-like free end 20 is produced. For better visibility, the metal blocking surface 14 is provided here with oblique lines. This sharp configuration of the free end 20 of the brush-like projection 15 is also evident in particular in FIG. 4, it being evident that the metal blocking surface 14 is shaped spherically here. Due to this spherical shape, the free end 20 ultimately receives the necessary flexibility, but the entire brush-like projection 15 so that when the locking pawl 7 is pivoted in about the projecting shoulder 13 of the rotary latch 5, the locking surface 16 of the locking pawl 7 is "swept clean" reliably. The metal blocking surface 14 is kept free from the casing 9 by providing a recess 10 therein. It can be seen in FIG. 4 in particular that the free end 20 is bent somewhat in the direction of the metal locking surface 14, in order to ensure that at the beginning of the movement sequence of the locking pawl 7 bending in the wrong direction is avoided. In the embodiment of the brush-like projection 15 shown in FIG. 5, the basic shape as in FIG. 4 is also retained, except that individual plastic webs 21, 22 are formed here, in that the brush-like projection 15 is virtually cut in. This further increases the flexibility and creates a real broom, depending on the width of the individual plastic webs 21, 22 selected.FIGS. 6 and 7 again show a development with regard to the avoidance of the negative crayons, wherein a type of pocket 25 is specified in the contact region 12 in the rotary latch 5 which delimits or specifies the metal blocking surface 14. Bead-like protrusions 28, 29 are formed on the side 30 toward the brush-like protrusion 15 and on the opposite side 31 into the protruding attachment 13, so that after reaching the end position the metal blocking surface 14 comes into direct contact with the blocking surface 16 only in regions. This also applies to the rounded projection 15'. The metal blocking surface 14 generally remains unaffected due to its position and formation of dust, so that, as already mentioned, crayons can no longer occur with the cleaning of the blocking surface 16.
