Description

[0001] The invention relates to a method for installing a winding shaft of a building opening shading device according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0002] Shading devices for building openings of this type, whether roller shutters, Venetian blinds, Venetian blinds, or vertical awnings, have a winding shaft on which the curtain or the belts that operate the curtain are wound or unwound to raise and lower the curtain. These winding shafts are usually manufactured as hollow shafts, which can house a tubular motor for the drive. In roller shutters, the winding shafts usually have a hexagonal or octagonal cross-section, whereas in vertical awnings they have a round cross-section, with a tongue groove recessed inward for inserting a piping that holds the awning fabric.

[0003] The winding shaft of such a building opening shading device is supported at both of its front ends in corresponding brackets on the building side. These side bearings are usually provided on side panels or cover caps of a winding shaft housing, such as a roller shutter box, but can also be attached to a wall of a wall reveal cavity of the building. In the case of winding shafts with a tubular motor, the winding shaft is supported at one end via the tubular motor and at the other end via a bearing element such as a bearing journal that is held in a side bearing. In the case of winding shafts with a belt drive, bearing journals or the like can be provided at both ends of the winding shaft, which are supported in a corresponding side bearing. The side bearings are usually plain bearings, with the winding shaft and its front bearing journal inserted into the bearing inner ring.

[0004] To simplify the installation of the winding shaft between its two end-face bearing points, so-called spring-loaded axle caps are available. These are axle cap modules inserted at the end face, in which the bearing pin is telescopically mounted and usually preloaded axially outward by spring force. An example of a building opening shading device with such a axle cap module can be found in European patent EP 1 746 244 B1. Winding shafts with a spring-loaded end are also shown in European patent application EP 1 936 106 A2, French patent application FR 2 934 307 A1, German utility model DE 20 2007 004 845 U1, and European patent application EP 07 30080 A1.

[0005] The spring-loaded axle caps make it possible, when installing the winding shaft in confined spaces in the installation space provided for the winding shaft, but also when dismantling the winding shaft for inspection purposes, to mount the winding shaft as a whole on the side bearings previously attached to the building, for example in the pre-assembled winding shaft box, or to remove the winding shaft as a whole from the box without having to disassemble the box. To do this, the winding shaft is held at an angle with the spring-loaded end and placed on the designated bearing on the side part. Then, while compressed, the other end is pivoted upwards and placed on the designated bearing while expanding the winding shaft. Disassembly is carried out in the reverse order.

[0006] Further efforts are being made to enable the winding shaft, including the curtain wound onto it, to be mounted in this way, despite increasingly tight installation spaces. For example, vertical awnings and roller shutters often already use split curtain guide rails. A top-mounted profile with flanks that laterally enclose the guide groove can be removed from a base profile that remains permanently attached to the building, before the roll, consisting of the winding shaft and the curtain wound onto it, is hinged downwards past the remaining base profiles. An example of such a split guide rail is shown in European patent application EP 2 631 414 A2.

[0007] The German patent application DE 103 51 336 A1 discloses an insect screen roller blind in which, to install the winding shaft, a bearing pin of the winding shaft is first provided with a ball bearing and then the winding shaft with the ball bearing is attached to a ring flange on the side part and hinged in place.

[0008] It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for installing a winding shaft of a building opening shading device, with which the assembly of the winding shaft is further simplified.

[0009] This problem is solved by the features of claim 1.

[0010] According to the invention, a side bearing module is used for a winding shaft of a building opening shading device with a curtain that can be wound up and unwound on the winding shaft, which is suitable for supporting the winding shaft on the front, in particular on a side part of a box enclosing the winding shaft, and has a side bearing for a front bearing journal of the winding shaft, which is fastened to a bearing support, in particular a bearing plate, that can be fastened to the building. The winding shaft of the building opening shading device, in particular a vertical awning, furthermore has, according to the invention, a bearing journal on at least one front end, which can be supported on the associated side part via the side bearing module, so that, in the installed state and with the bearing journal inserted into the side bearing, the winding shaft can be pivoted between a horizontal position and a position inclined at an angle to the horizontal.

[0011] What's interesting about the ability of the side bearing, the bearing journal housed within it, and thus the entire winding shaft to pivot from or into the horizontal position is the ability to pivot downwards around a pivot axis located in the area of the side bearing, which is perpendicular to it and also horizontal. The pivotability doesn't need to be so great that the winding shaft axis points vertically downwards before or after the downward pivoting. Rather, it is sufficient if the winding shaft, with its front-end bearing journal, can be placed at an angle against the inner bearing ring of the side bearing module, inserted into the inner bearing ring, and then pivoted into the horizontal position.

[0012] Furthermore, according to the invention, the winding shaft is accordingly placed with its front-side bearing journal obliquely on the bearing inner ring of the side bearing module and inserted into the bearing inner ring and then pivoted from its position inclined to the horizontal into the horizontal, so that the bearing inner ring accommodated in the bearing outer ring is pivoted into the normal plane of the winding shaft.

[0013] After inserting the bearing journal into the inner ring of the side bearing module, the winding shaft can then be pivoted upwards with its other end and, with axial relaxation of the winding shaft, brought into contact with the side part there, in particular the box cover cap there, either with a bearing journal provided at the front end there or with the front end of the tubular motor protruding from the winding shaft.

[0014] This makes assembly much easier, as it was previously difficult to insert the compressed winding shaft into the inner ring of the bearing after the opposite end had been hinged upwards with the spring-loaded bearing journal. This insertion is now much easier because the bearing journal can be inserted in a conveniently angled position before the winding shaft is pivoted in. Secondly, the spring travel required to compress the winding shaft is significantly shorter, as the bearing journal is already inserted into the inner ring of the bearing before the opposite end of the winding shaft is pivoted upwards or hinged in and brought into contact with the counter bearing.

[0015] In many cases, in the case of a building opening shading device equipped with a side bearing module according to the invention with a curtain that can be wound up and unwound on the winding shaft, such as a vertical awning or a roller shutter, it is therefore sufficient to equip the winding shaft with axially rigid bearing elements at both ends.

[0016] In order to further defuse the installation situation and in particular to enable the installation of the winding shaft with the curtain wound on it, i.e. with a relatively large circumference, it is advantageous if the bearing pin supported in the side bearing module according to the invention is displaceable in the winding shaft axis direction and is preferably pre-tensioned axially outwards by spring force in the winding shaft.

[0017] Alternatively or additionally, the building opening shading device can have a split lateral guide rail for the blind, at least on the end face of the winding shaft opposite the bearing pin accommodated in the side bearing module. This lateral guide rail, in a conventional manner, has a base profile that is or can be attached to the building and an attachment profile that is removably attached to the base profile and on which the flanks of the guide groove are formed. During assembly, but also during disassembly, the attachment profile can then be removed, thus removing the flanks of the guide groove, which would be in the way when the winding shaft is pivoted from the position held at an angle to the horizontal with its bearing pin inserted into the bearing inner ring, into the horizontal installation position.

[0018] The bearing support, which is in particular plate-shaped or designed as a bearing plate, can be formed in one piece with a side part of a box enclosing the winding shaft, i.e. the box cover cap.

[0019] However, the bearing support can also be fastened as a component separate from the side part to the side part of the box enclosing the winding shaft and is preferably designed as a plate-shaped bearing support, i.e. as a bearing plate, wherein the side bearing module can advantageously also comprise the box side part, so that the box side part and the bearing support can be particularly well matched to one another.

[0020] The bearing outer ring is advantageously formed as a section of the bearing carrier or the bearing plate in one piece on the bearing carrier or the bearing plate.

[0021] The bearing inner ring can be designed as a spherical cap. The bearing inner ring thus has a spherical segment-shaped outer circumference or outer circumferential section facing the bearing outer ring. The bearing outer ring can then have a corresponding spherical segment-shaped inner circumference or inner circumferential section facing the bearing inner ring. Such spherical cap bearings can be manufactured relatively inexpensively, especially if they are designed as plain bearings, which is sufficient for use as winding shaft bearings in most cases, rather than as self-aligning ball bearings, which, however, would also be conceivable within the scope of the invention.

[0022] The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying figures. They show: Fig. 1 a winding shaft of a building opening shading device, each of its two end faces mounted on a side part of a box (not shown), suitable for the installation method according to the invention; Fig. 2 a partial horizontal section along the line II-II in Fig. 1 am in Fig. 1 left, spring-loaded end of the winding shaft; Fig. 3 - 6 Vertical section views of the Fig. 2 shown axle cap module in different mounting situations on the associated side part of the building opening shading device; Fig. 7 a sectional view of an outer clamping bush of the Fig. 2 to 6 shown axle cap module; Fig. 8a and Fig. 8 b an inner clamping bush of the Fig. 2 to 6, once in section and once in plan view from the winding shaft end face; Fig. 9 a support bracket of the Fig. 2 to 6 shown axle cap module in perspective view; Fig. 10 one essentially of the Fig. 2 corresponding detailed view of the axle cap module, but with the side part with the bearing omitted and more details of the axle cap module shown; Fig. 11 and Fig. 14 a clamping bush of the Fig. 2 to 6 and 10, once in a perspective view and once in a side view from the inner side inserted into the winding shaft; Fig. 12 and Fig. 15 on the one hand and Fig. 13 and Fig. 15a on the other hand two further clamping bushes in the Fig. 11 and Fig. 14 corresponding views, which can act as adapters for winding shafts with larger diameters; Fig. 16 a side view of a side bearing module on which the Fig. 1 shown winding shaft with the one shown in the Fig. 2 to 6 and 10, seen in front view from the winding shaft; Fig. 17 that in Fig. 16 shown side bearing module in a side view rotated by 90°; Fig. 18 and Fig. 19 that in the Fig. 16 and Fig. 17 shown side bearing module seen from the side facing away from the winding shaft in a securing position that prevents the winding shaft from being deflected ( Fig. 18) and in an assembly position that allows the deflection of the winding shaft ( Fig. 19).

[0023] First, reference is made to the Fig. 1, in which a hollow winding shaft, designated overall by 10, is shown, which is mounted at both of its ends on a cover cap or on a side part 1 or 11 of the winding shaft box (not shown otherwise). The side parts 1, 11 can be of identical construction, whereby the winding shaft 10 is axially fixedly supported on the side part 11 via its tubular motor, but on the side part 1 via an axle cap module with a telescopic support bracket 6 spring-loaded in the winding shaft, and a side bearing module attached to the cover cap, as will be explained in more detail below. Fig. 1 shows a winding shaft for a vertical awning with a round cross-section, although the invention can be implemented just as well on a winding shaft with a polygonal cross-section, such as is used for roller shutters.

[0024] The spring-loaded axle cap module has, as Fig. 2 shows an inner bushing 5, 9, which is formed from two clamping bushes screwed together, an outer clamping bushing 5 and an inner clamping bushing 9. In the inner bushing 5, 9, a support socket 6 is accommodated, which is preloaded outwards by an extension spring 7 and has only a degree of freedom of movement in the winding shaft axial direction, via which the winding shaft 10 is supported in a side bearing 2, 3 attached to the side part 1. The side bearing 2, 3 has an inner ring 2 designed as a spherical cap, which is mounted on the end of the support socket 6, and a bearing plate 3, which is fastened to the side part 1 and on which a bearing outer ring 31 ( Fig. 4) is molded on.

[0025] The support support 6, together with the two clamping bushes 5, 9 and the extension spring 7, forms a clamping element 5, 6, 7, 9, which is guided through a clamping bush designated 8, or passes through the clamping bush 8, and via which the clamping bush 8 can be clamped in the winding shaft 10. The inner bush 5, 9 formed by the two clamping bushes 5, 9, together with the clamping bush 8 through which it is guided, forms a bushing arrangement 5, 8, 9.

[0026] The outer clamping bush 5 has, as shown in Fig. 7, an outer peripheral portion with an external thread 53, which faces the inner clamping bush 9, which in turn has an inner peripheral portion with a corresponding internal thread 93 on its side facing the outer clamping bush 5. The two clamping bushes 5, 9 can thus be screwed together and can be moved towards one another in the winding shaft axis direction by tightening the screw connection and away from one another by loosening the screw connection.

[0027] The outer clamping bush 5 has a radially outwardly projecting stop flange 52 and the inner clamping bush 9 has an outer circumferential section or wedge section 92 which tapers conically from the inside to the outside in the direction of the winding shaft axis (see Fig. 8a). The clamping bush 8, on the other hand, has a ring section 81 slotted at a slot 86, see Fig. 11, from which a plurality of spreading or counter-wedge segments 83 arranged concentrically to the winding shaft protrude inwards in the winding shaft axis direction.

[0028] The inner circumferential surfaces of the counter wedge segments 83 run on a conical contour corresponding to the conical shape of the wedge section 92 of the inner clamping bush 9 and can spread apart due to the fan structure divided by segment spaces 85 when the screw connection of the two clamping bushes 5, 9 is tightened and the two clamping bushes then move towards one another and thereby exert a radially outward-directed pressure on the counter wedge segments 83 of the clamping bush 8 via the radially projecting stop flange ring 52 on the outer clamping bush 5 on the one hand and the conical wedge section 92 on the inner clamping bush 9 on the other hand.

[0029] The clamping element 5, 6, 7, 9 and the clamping bush 8 thus form a wedge gear that can be actuated by tightening or loosening the screw connection of the two clamping bushes 5, 9, via which the clamping bush 8 can be pressed against the inner circumference of the hollow winding shaft 10, whereby the axle cap module as a whole can be anchored in the hollow shaft 10.

[0030] Various measures are taken to ensure that if the outer clamping bush 5 is rotated, the inner clamping bush 9 is held in a rotationally fixed manner, so that the screw connection of the two clamping bushes 5, 9 can be actuated in the first place. Firstly, the wedge angle on the conical wedge section 92 of the inner clamping bush 9 and on the counter-wedge section 82 of the clamping bush 8 formed by the counter-wedge segments 83 is chosen to be quite small, in the example shown approximately 10°, whereby the wedge and counter-wedge sections 82, 83 extend over a relatively large axial length and almost around the entire circumference. This achieves an almost self-locking frictional connection between the inner clamping bush 9 and the clamping bush 8. In addition, see Fig. 8b, two fins 95 from the inner clamping bush 9 in its wedge section 92 radially outwards, each having a segment gap 85 - see Fig. 14 - pass through between two counter wedge segments 83 and are supported directly on the inner circumference of the hollow shaft 10. Between the two radial fins 95, a driving or holding groove 94 is formed on the outer circumference of the inner clamping bush 9, with which the inner clamping bush 9 can be held on a Fig. 10, which is indented inward from the inner circumference of the hollow shaft 10. The piping groove enclosed by the groove wall 12 serves to accommodate a piping with which the awning fabric is attached to the hollow shaft 10.

[0031] How Fig. 14 shows that the clamping bush 8 has a corresponding piping engagement 84, which forms a gap in the expansion segment ring forming the counter wedge section 82 and extends up to the ring section 81.

[0032] The outer, rotatable clamping sleeve 5 is actuated via the support socket 6, which is Fig. 9 is shown in detail. The support support 6 has a bearing pin or bearing pin section 61, with which it is supported in the side bearing 2, 3, designed as a spherical cap bearing 2, 3, on the side part 1. The bearing pin 61, in turn, has a hexagon socket recess 63 on its end face, onto which a tool can be applied during assembly of the axle cap module on the winding shaft 10.

[0033] Adjoining the bearing journal section 61 in the winding shaft axis direction, via an annular, radial wall section 65, is a support body 62 having an outer circumference that widens conically inwardly. A plurality of guide grooves 75 distributed over the circumference, arranged concentrically to the winding shaft axis and extending along the winding shaft axis, are formed radially inwardly therein. A corresponding plurality of fins 54 projecting radially inwardly on the inner circumference side of the outer clamping bush 5 are assigned to said guide grooves, wherein the fins 54 also extend coaxially with the winding shaft, see Fig. 7. The support socket 6 is guided in the outer clamping bush 5 via the fins 54 engaging in the guide grooves 64 in a torque-transmitting manner, but with a degree of freedom of movement in the winding shaft axial direction, so that when a torque is applied to the engagement section 63, the outer clamping bush 5 is rotated, whereas the inner clamping bush 9 is held in place.

[0034] The outer clamping bush 5 has, corresponding to the conical shape of the carrier body 64, an inner circumferential surface that tapers conically outward in the winding shaft axis direction, from which the fins 54 protrude. This results in good self-centering of the carrier socket 6 in the outer clamping bush 5 and a play-free bearing when the carrier socket 6 is preloaded outwardly by the extension spring 7 into its operating position extended from the hollow shaft 10.

[0035] The inner clamping bush 9 also has, see Fig. 8a, a support base 91, against which the ejection spring 7 can rest with its inner end. The support socket 6, in contrast, has a spring guide cavity open towards the support base 91, on the axial outer side of which there is an inner shoulder on the annular, radial wall section 65, spaced outwardly from the support base 91 in the winding shaft axis direction, against which the ejection spring 7 can rest with its outer end, whereby the support socket 6, with its conical support body 62, is pressed against the inner cone provided on the outer sleeve 5. The guide grooves 64 formed in the support body each have a wall forming the groove flanks and the groove base and can thus simultaneously serve, on their inner side in the radial direction, as a circumferential enclosure of the ejection spring 7, which guides the ejection spring 7 in the axial direction and prevents the ejection spring 7 from buckling.

[0036] The bearing journal 61 is, as can be seen in particular from the Fig. 3 to 6, supported by the side bearing 2, 3 on the side part 1 or the cover cap 1 of the vertical awning, which in turn is part of a side bearing module 2, 3, 4, which is in the Fig. 16 - 19 is shown in detail and is connected to the side part 1 of the box.

[0037] The bearing module 2, 3, 4 has a bearing plate 3 attached to the side part 1, on which an outer ring 31 of the bearing 2, 3, designed as a plain bearing, is formed for the bearing journal 61. The bearing journal 61 is received in a bearing inner ring 2 of the plain bearing 2, 3, which in turn is rotatably received in the bearing outer ring 31 of the bearing plate 3.

[0038] The inner ring 2 is designed as a spherical cap. This means that its outer circumference facing the outer ring 31 has a spherical segment-shaped contour. Accordingly, the inner circumference of the outer ring 31 of the bearing plate 3 facing the inner ring 2 also has a spherical segment-shaped contour, so that the inner ring 2 can be pivoted out of the normal plane to the winding shaft axis, see Fig. 5.

[0039] This is advantageous with regard to the assembly of the winding shaft 10, which, as in Fig. 5 shown pivoted inner ring 3 at an angle to the horizontal and can be inserted into the inner ring 2 with the bearing pin 61. Subsequently, the winding shaft 10 can then be inserted as shown by the arrow in Fig. 5 with its opposite end pivoted upwards. Before this opposite end fits into the side part 11 ( Fig. 1) is then reached, as indicated by the arrow in Fig. 6, the winding shaft 10 is compressed or the support socket 6 is pressed into the inner bushing 5, 9 formed by the two clamping bushes 5, 9 by pressure on the winding shaft 10 against the side part 1, so that the winding shaft 10 can be brought into its horizontal position with the bearing pin 61 already received in the spherical cap bearing 2, 3, whereby the opposite end of the winding shaft thus fits past the side part 11. Subsequently, the pressure exerted by the winding shaft 10 and the extension spring 7 on the support socket 6 and the side part 1 can be removed again - see Fig. 4 - whereby the extension spring 7 relaxes and pushes the support piece 6 outwards and thus telescopes the winding shaft into its operating position between the two side parts 1, 11.

[0040] The support bracket 6 with the integral bearing pin 61 can therefore be positioned between a Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 shown operating position of the winding shaft 10 and one in Fig. 6 shown assembly position in the inner bushing 5, 9 and thus in the winding shaft 10. In the operating position, the bearing pin 61 projects significantly further beyond the shaft end provided with the support socket 6 of the hollow shaft 10 forming the winding shaft 10 than in the assembly position.

[0041] In order to prevent the winding shaft 10 from being undesirably compressed during operation and thereby falling out of its support on the two front side parts 1, 11, a securing device 4, 5 is provided, which on the one hand comprises a securing slide 4 provided on the side bearing module 2, 3, 4 and on the other hand an axially outwardly facing, annular stop surface on the shaft end of the winding shaft 10 provided with the support socket 6.

[0042] The annular stop surface is provided on a front-side, annular flange or cylindrical projection or stop ring 51 on the outer clamping bush 5, wherein the outer clamping bush 5 is firmly anchored in the winding shaft 10 as part of the axle cap module.

[0043] The safety slide 4 is mounted vertically displaceably on the bearing plate 3 and has a counter-stop pin 41 projecting toward the winding shaft 10 in the winding shaft axis direction, with a counter-stop surface facing the stop surface. In a securing position, in which the counter-stop pin 41 with its counter-stop surface is located at the radial height of the annular stop surface on the outer clamping bush 5, compression of the winding shaft 10, which is rotatably in the operating position, or pressing of the support socket 6 into the inner sleeve 5, 9 is prevented, see Fig. 3.

[0044] The safety slide 4 is as shown by the arrow in Fig. 3 indicated vertically adjustable on the bearing plate 3. If the safety slide 4 from its in Fig. 3 shown safety position into the Fig. 4 is moved upwards, the counter stop pin 41 also moves upwards and thus to a height which is outside the radial position of the end stop ring 51 on the outer clamping bush 5, which has the stop surface, see Fig. 4. In the safety position - Fig. 3 - only a narrow slot remains between the stop surface of the front ring flange 51 of the outer clamping bush 5 and the counter-stop surface on the counter-stop pin 41 of the safety slide 4.

[0045] The locking slide 4 has a captive section 42 that surrounds the bearing outer ring 31 in a ring shape and has a somewhat elongated opening in the vertical direction through which the bearing outer ring 31 protrudes, so that the locking slide 4 can be adjusted vertically between its locking position and its release position. The counter-stop pin 41, which projects toward the winding shaft, is formed on the top side of the captive section 42, and an actuating section 43 that extends vertically downwards is formed on the bottom side. The actuating section 43 has a horizontally extending operating tab 45 on its underside that projects inward at a 90° angle in the direction of the winding shaft axis, by which the fitter can grip the locking ring 4 for height adjustment.

[0046] The safety slide 4 is slidably mounted on the bearing plate 3. For this purpose, it has, on the one hand, at the lower end of the actuating section 43, a locking tab 45 protruding opposite to the operating tab 44, with which it comes to rest on a shoulder 32 on the underside of the bearing plate 3 in its locking position and in its release position - see Fig. 4 - in a corresponding receiving groove in the bearing plate 3. On the upper side of the anti-loss section 42, the safety slide 4 also engages behind the bearing plate 3 and has, on the rear side of the bearing plate 3 facing away from the winding shaft 10, two downwardly projecting legs of a locking fork 46 which engage around a locking pin 33 projecting from the bearing plate 3 there.

[0047] Changes and modifications of the embodiment shown are possible without departing from the scope of the invention.

[0048] This is how the Fig. 12 and Fig.15 on the one hand, and 13 and 15a on the other hand, two alternative clamping bushes 8a and 8b, respectively, which can be used when an identical tensioning element 5, 6, 7, 9 is to be used for winding shafts with different diameters. It would also be conceivable to supply an axle cap module consisting of the tensioning element 5, 6, 7, 9 and a plurality of clamping bushes 8, 8a, 8b, which clamping bushes 8, 8a, 8b all have different external dimensions but the same internal dimensions. It would also be conceivable to include further alternative clamping bushes with different external contours, such as a hexagonal or octagonal external contour, in order to make the axle cap module usable not only for vertical awnings, but also for roller shutter winding shafts.
