Description
TECHNICAL AREA
[0001] The invention relates to a sanitary washing device which is attached to a toilet bowl. TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
[0002] A sanitary washing device of one type is known from the prior art, comprising a washing nozzle for a human body, which has a jet hole for a local area of the human body from which water is jetted to wash that local area, and a toilet bowl washing jet hole from which water is jetted towards the surface of a bowl section of a toilet bowl (see, for example, JP 5 896 171 B2). The sanitary washing device prevents dirt from adhering to the surface of the bowl section of the toilet bowl by jetting water from the toilet bowl washing jet hole of the nozzle towards the surface of the bowl section of the toilet bowl for washing a human body before a user uses the toilet bowl.
[0003] Furthermore, JP 2015-101941A discloses a sanitary washing device with a main body in which the only nozzle is a nozzle for washing the human body. The nozzle can be moved from the main body into a bowl section of a toilet bowl. When the nozzle is in the main body, a shielding plate is provided in front of the nozzle. When the nozzle moves into the bowl, the shielding plate opens through the nozzle. Thus, the shielding plate does not block water sprayed from a spray hole that is part of the nozzle.
[0004] With a conventional toilet bowl wash device, water is sprayed from the nozzle's spray hole onto the surface of the bowl while the user is seated. In this case, the water sprayed from the nozzle scatters in the form of droplets and therefore adheres to the user's hips or legs, which can be uncomfortable.
[0005] Therefore, there is a need for a sanitary washing device that can prevent dirt from adhering to the surface of a toilet bowl section without causing discomfort to a user. SUMMARY
[0006] A sanitary washing device according to one aspect of the invention is a sanitary washing device comprising a first nozzle which sprays a liquid onto a surface of a toilet bowl section of a toilet bowl, and a movable scatter suppression component which is movable between a closed position and an open position, and which in the open position prevents the liquid sprayed by the first nozzle from scattering on an upper surface side of the toilet bowl.
[0007] In the sanitary washing device, the liquid from the first nozzle can be sprayed onto the surface of the toilet bowl section when the movable spray-suppressing component has been moved from the closed to the open position. Therefore, even if the liquid is sprayed from the first nozzle onto the toilet bowl section while the user is seated on the toilet, the spray-suppressing component prevents the sprayed liquid (water droplets) from being scattered towards the top of the toilet bowl, thus effectively preventing the water droplets from being scattered and adhering to the user's hips or legs.By spraying the liquid from the first nozzle into the toilet bowl section, the surface of the toilet bowl section can be smoothed to such an extent that it becomes difficult for dirt to adhere to it. A film of liquid can also be deposited between the dirt and the surface of the toilet bowl section, allowing the dirt to be easily removed when the toilet bowl is washed. As a result, it is possible to prevent dirt from adhering to the surface of the toilet bowl section without causing discomfort to the user. Additionally, because the spray suppressor is movable, it can return to the closed position when no liquid is being sprayed from the first nozzle. Therefore, it can be prevented from, for example, other functions of the sanitary washing device are interrupted or hindered, and it can also prevent the scatter suppression component from being an obstacle, for example, when cleaning the toilet bowl.
[0008] Additionally, the sanitary washing device further comprises a washing nozzle (or at least one additional nozzle for washing) for a human body, which is movable back and forth and sprays a liquid onto a local area of the human body, and the scatter suppression component moves between the closed and open positions in conjunction with the forward and backward movement of the washing nozzle. With this configuration, an increase in the size or price of the sanitary washing device due to the installation of a drive mechanism for the scatter suppression component can be avoided.
[0009] The scatter suppressor component can cover the tip section of the human body wash nozzle when in the closed position. This means the scatter suppressor component can also serve as a nozzle cover to prevent contamination of the human body wash nozzle. With this configuration, an increase in the size or price of the sanitary washing device due to the installation of the scatter suppressor component for the first nozzle can be avoided.
[0010] The sanitary washing device further comprises a housing which includes a base component designed to hold the first nozzle and the washing nozzle for the human body, and which rotatably mounts the scatter suppression component. It also features a motion converter mechanism that transforms the linear movement of the washing nozzle for the human body into a rotary movement of the scatter suppression component. With this configuration, the scatter suppression component can rotate in sync with the movement of the washing nozzle for the human body.
[0011] The washing nozzle for the human body comprises a nozzle body with a liquid jet orifice and a cylindrical section housing the nozzle body. The nozzle body is also movable back and forth relative to the cylindrical section, as is the cylindrical section relative to the housing. A motion converter mechanism transforms the linear movement of the cylindrical section into a rotary movement of the scatter suppression component. This configuration allows the scatter suppression component to be rotated from the closed to the open position independently of the nozzle body's movement.
[0012] The motion converter mechanism is a connecting mechanism, one end of which is connected to the scatter suppression component, and the connecting mechanism has a sliding element which is provided on its other side, the sliding element being guided through the housing and pressed through the cylinder section.
[0013] The motion converter mechanism can include a connecting component having an end section rotatably mounted through the housing, the other end section being fixed to the scatter suppression component, a curved section being formed between the one end section and the other end section, and a pressed section being provided on the curved section, and a rotating component rotatably mounted through the housing and pressed and rotated through the cylinder section, pressing the pressed section of the connecting component in such a way that the connecting component can rotate relative to the housing.
[0014] The rotating component can be pressed through the cylinder section during at least part of the linear movement of the cylinder section; the connecting component can be pressed through the cylinder section during at least part of a linear movement of the cylinder section; the pressing of the connecting component through the cylinder section can be started before the pressing of the rotating component through the cylinder section has ended, and the pressing of the connecting component through the cylinder section can be continued after the pressing of the rotating component through the cylinder section has ended. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0016] In the following, an embodiment of the invention is described with reference to the figures.
[0017] Fig. Figure 1 is a perspective view showing a toilet bowl 1 to which a sanitary washing device 10 according to the present invention is attached. The toilet bowl 1, which is in Fig. Figure 1 shows a Western-style toilet bowl on which a user sits, and the sanitary washing device 10 is fixed to the upper surface of the toilet bowl 1. The sanitary washing device 10 comprises a housing 11, a toilet seat 12 rotatably mounted in the housing 11, a lid 13 rotatably mounted in the housing 11 in the same manner as the seat 12, and a control panel 14.
[0018] The housing 11 of the sanitary washing device 10 has a base plate (basic component) 110, which is fixed to the upper surface of the toilet bowl 11 and is made of a resin, and a cover 119, which is detachably attached to the base plate 110 and is also made of a resin. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the base plate 110 has a flat section 111, which is fixed to the upper surface of the toilet bowl 11, and an inclined section 112, which extends inclinedly from one end of the flat section 111 towards a toilet bowl section 2 of the toilet bowl 1. When the housing 11 (the base plate 110) is fixed to the toilet bowl 1, the inclined section 112 is inserted into the toilet bowl section 2, as shown in Figure 2. Fig. 2 shown.
[0019] Within the housing 11 (the base plate 110 and the cover 119) are, as in Fig. Figure 3 shows a (at least one additional washing) nozzle 15 for washing the hip and a bidet nozzle (at least one additional nozzle or washing nozzle) 16, which are nozzles for washing the human body, arranged to each spray water (also warm water) onto local areas of the human body. As shown in the Fig. 4 and Fig. As shown in Figure 5, the hip wash nozzle 16 has a nozzle body 15n, which can move back and forth relative to the housing 11, and a cylinder section 15s in which the nozzle body 15n is housed to enable this movement. The cylinder section 15s is moved back and forth axially relative to the housing 11 within a predetermined range by an actuator (not shown), which may be, for example, a motor or a rack and pinion mechanism. Additionally, the nozzle body 15n is moved back and forth axially between a bearing position and a washing position on the side of the toilet bowl section 2 by the pressure of water supplied to the hip wash nozzle 16 or by the preload of a spring (not shown).
[0020] The bidet nozzle 16 comprises a nozzle body 16n, which can move back and forth relative to the housing 11, and a cylinder section 16s in which the nozzle body 16n is housed so as to move back and forth. The cylinder section 16s is moved back and forth axially relative to the housing 11 within a predetermined range by the actuator. Additionally, the nozzle body 16n is moved back and forth axially between a bearing position and a washing position on the side of the toilet bowl section 2 by the pressure of water supplied to the bidet nozzle 16 or by the preload force of a spring (not shown).
[0021] Furthermore, the housing 11 contains, for example, a valve unit connected to a mains water supply (water source) via a branch tap and a water supply line, a water tank connected to the valve unit, a rotary valve (water flow control valve) connected to the hip wash nozzle 15, the bidet nozzle 16, and the water tank (none of which are shown). The valve unit includes, for example, a strainer, a check valve, a constant flow valve, a water stop solenoid valve, and a pressure relief valve. The water tank has a heater that warms water from the mains water supply (water source) and / or a temperature sensor, and can store hot water heated by the heater. The rotary valve can selectively switch the water supply from the water tank between the hip wash nozzle 15 and the bidet nozzle 16 and can adjust the amount of water supplied to nozzles 15 and 16. The sanitary wash unit 10 can be equipped with a heat exchanger, which has a heating element, instead of the water tank to provide an immediate supply of hot water.
[0022] Additionally, a control device (not shown) is housed within the casing 11 to control the sanitary washing device 10. The control device controls, for example, the valve unit, the water tank heater, the actuator for the hip wash nozzle 15 and the bidet nozzle 16, and the rotary valve based on, for example, a signal from the control panel 14 or a seat sensor 19 (see figure). Fig. 1) or the temperature sensor of the water tank.
[0023] As in the Fig. 2 and Fig. As shown in Figure 3, a movable flap (scatter suppression component) 17 is provided in the housing 11 of the sanitary washing device 10. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, the flap 17 is a component which essentially has the form of a trapezoidal plate, the width of which is essentially equal to the width of an opening in the seat 12, and which is located in Fig. The upper end section of the flap 17 shown in Figure 3 is rotatably mounted to the cover 119 of the housing 11 via a hinge 17h. In addition, although the flap 17 is designed in a flat plate shape according to the embodiment disclosed herein, the flap 17 can also have a curved cross-sectional shape. Furthermore, a spring (not shown) is arranged between the flap 17 and the cover 119 of the housing, and the flap is moved by the spring into the position shown in Figure 3. Fig. The closed position shown in Figure 4 is pre-tensioned. In the closed position, the flap 17 covers the tip end section of the hip wash nozzle 15 and the tip end section of the bidet nozzle 16. Therefore, contamination of the hip wash nozzle 15, the bidet nozzle 16, or their circumferential surface or surroundings can be suppressed, or an aesthetic appearance can be maintained by covering both nozzles.
[0024] Furthermore, a connecting mechanism 18 is connected to the flap 17 as a motion converter mechanism to convert a linear movement of the cylinder section 15s or 16s in the axial direction into a rotary movement of the flap 17. The connecting mechanism 18 comprises: a sliding element 180, which is guided by a guide section 11g formed on the housing 11 (the base plate 110 or the cover 119); a first connector 181, which is coupled to the flap 17 via a pin in a position spaced from the hinge 17h towards the side of the free end; and a second connector 182, which is coupled to the sliding element 180 via a pin and is also coupled to the first connector 181 via a pin.Additionally, a press section 15p or 16p is provided on the outer circumferential surface of the cylinder section 15s of the hip washing nozzle 15 and the cylinder section 16s of the bidet nozzle 16 in order to be brought into contact with the sliding element 180 of the connection mechanism 18.
[0025] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the pressing sections 15p and 16p of the cylinder sections 15s and 16s are spaced away from the sliding element 180 of the connecting mechanism 18 when the flap 17 is in the closed position and are not brought into contact with the sliding element 180. On the other hand, if one of the cylinder sections 15s and 16s of the hip wash nozzle 15 and the bidet nozzle 16 moves towards the toilet bowl section 2, as shown in Figure 4, the pressing sections 15p and 16p of the cylinder sections 15s and 16s are spaced away from the sliding element 180 of the connecting mechanism 18 when the flap 17 is in the closed position and are not brought into contact with the sliding element 180. Fig. As shown in Figure 5, the pressing section 15p or 16p is brought into contact with the corresponding sliding element 180 of the connecting mechanism 18, thereby pressing the sliding element 180. The sliding element 180 is moved towards the flap 17 by being pressed through the pressing section 15p or 16p, and the first and second connectors 181 and 182 move to move the flap 17 together with the movement of the sliding element. Therefore, the flap 17 rotates as if it were springing up around the hinge 17h against the preload force of the spring.
[0026] The cylinder section 15s or 16s stops at the time when the sliding element 180 of the connecting mechanism 18 comes into contact with one end (in Fig. 5, the left end) of the guide section 11g, and the flap 17 is held in the open position because part of it is supported by the stopped cylinder section 15s or 16s. Therefore, the nozzle body 15n of the hip wash nozzle 15 or the nozzle body 16n of the bidet nozzle 16 can be moved into the wash position on the side of the toilet bowl section 2. Additionally, when the cylinder section 15s or 16s moves towards the side of the flat section 111, the flap 17 is no longer supported by the cylinder section 15s or 16s and is biased by the spring (not shown) to return it to the closed position.
[0027] Furthermore, the sanitary washing device 10 has a (first) nozzle 20 which sprays water onto the surface of the toilet bowl section 2 of the toilet bowl 1. The nozzle 20 smooths the surface of the toilet bowl section 2 by spraying water, making it difficult for dirt to adhere to the toilet bowl section 1. A film of water is also deposited between the dirt and the surface of the toilet bowl section, thus enabling the dirt to be easily separated from the surface of the toilet bowl section 2 when the toilet bowl is washed. For example, in Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the nozzle 20 is fixed to the inclined section 112 described above, which is formed on the base plate 110 of the housing 11.
[0028] The Fig. 6 and Fig. Figure 7 shows exploded views of nozzle 20. Fig. Figure 8 is a side view showing nozzle 20, and the Fig. 9 and Fig. Figure 10 shows cross-sectional views of the nozzle 20. As shown in these drawings, the nozzle 20 has a body 21 and a flow divider 22, which is provided inside the body 21. The body 21 is formed by joining a first cylindrical body 211 and a second cylindrical body 212, both of which are molded from a resin.
[0029] As in the Fig. 6 and Fig. As shown in Figure 7, the first cylindrical body 211 has a first section 213 of large diameter, which has the shape of a cylinder with a base and a free end, and a first section 215 of small diameter, which extends from the end surface of the first section 213 of large diameter in the axial direction of the first cylindrical body 211 and has a diameter that is smaller than that of the first section 213 of large diameter. An alignment or positioning projection 213a is formed within the first section of large diameter 213 for positioning the second cylindrical body 212 such that it extends in the axial direction of the first section 213 of large diameter. In addition, a slip-suppression projection 213b is provided. The backlash suppression projection 213b on the outer circumferential surface of the first large-diameter section 213 is shaped such that it extends in the axial direction of the first large-diameter section 213 to prevent the nozzle 20 from slipping relative to the inclined section 112 by coming into contact with the inclined section 112 of the base plate 110.
[0030] The first section 215 of small diameter is, as in Fig. Figure 9 shows a connection nipple of a hose connector, and it has a supply path 215p extending axially in the small-diameter first section 215. This path communicates with both a supply line 20i of the nozzle 20, formed in its free end cutout, and the interior of the large-diameter first section 213. The small-diameter first section 215, i.e., the supply line 20i, is connected to the rotary valve via a branch valve (not shown) located downstream of the rotary valve described above. Therefore, water from the water tank (or from the heat exchanger containing the heating element) is supplied to the nozzle 20 (the supply line 20i) via the rotary valve. However, the small-diameter first section 215 (the supply line 20i) can be connected to the mains water supply, for example.be connected by an opening / closing valve.
[0031] As in the Fig. 6 and Fig. As shown in Figure 7, the first cylindrical body 211 has a pair of arm sections 217, which are integrally formed with the first large-diameter section 213. Each arm section 217 projects from the outer circumferential surface of the first large-diameter section 213 such that it extends in the axial direction of the first large-diameter section 213. A base end section 217a of each arm section 217 extends radially outward from the outer circumferential surface of the first large-diameter section 213, forming a gap between a free end section 217b of each arm section 217 and the outer circumferential surface of the first large-diameter section 213. Therefore, each arm section 217 can be elastically deformed so that the free end section 217b approaches the outer circumferential surface of the first large-diameter section 213.
[0032] In the embodiment disclosed here, the pair of arm sections 217 is symmetrically formed with respect to the center plane of the nozzle 20 in the width direction, i.e., a plane which includes the axial center of the first large-diameter section 213 and the first small-diameter section 215 (the supply line 215p) and the center axis of the slip-suppression projection 213b in the width direction, such that the free end section 217b is arranged on one side of the discharge opening 20o of the nozzle 20. Additionally, a hook section 217f is formed on the free end section 217b of each arm section 217 such that it projects in a direction that is directed away from the outer circumferential surface of the first large-diameter section 213. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 8, the hook section 217f has a flat inclined surface 217s on the side of the base end section 217a of the arm section 217, which is inclined such that it is further apart from the slip-suppression section 213b, i.e., from the inclined section 112 (the base plate 110), in a direction from the side of the free end section 217b to the side of the base end section 217a. Additionally, the tip end section of the hook section 217f tapers, as shown in Fig. 6 shown.
[0033] As in the Fig. 6 and Fig. As shown in Figure 7, the second cylindrical body 212 has a second section 214 of large diameter, in which the ejection opening 20o is formed, and a second section 216 of small diameter, which extends from the end surface opposite the ejection opening 20o of the second section 214 of large diameter in the axial direction of the second cylindrical body 212 and has a diameter that is smaller than that of the second section 214 of large diameter. The second section 214 of large diameter has the form of a short cylinder, which has essentially the same outer diameter as the first section 213 of large diameter. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 8, a length L1 from the end surface of the second section 214 of large diameter, which surrounds the emission aperture 20o, to the end surface on the side of the second section 216 of small diameter is set such that it is less than a length L2 from the end surface of the first section 213 of large diameter on the side (of the open end) of the second cylindrical body 212 to the end surface on the side of the supply line 20i.
[0034] In addition, a weld rib 214L, which is an annular projection having an essentially triangular cross-sectional shape, is formed on the end surface of the second section 214 of large diameter on the side of the second section 216 of small diameter.
[0035] The second small-diameter section 216 has an outer diameter that is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the first large-diameter section 213 of the first cylindrical body 211, and is inserted into the first large-diameter section 213. If the second small-diameter section 216 is shaped to have a diameter slightly smaller than that of the first large-diameter section 213, the assembly efficiency of the second cylindrical body 212 with respect to the first cylindrical body 211 can be increased. However, the second small-diameter section 216 can have a diameter slightly larger than that of the first large-diameter section 213 in order to be press-fitted into the first large-diameter section 213. Additionally, as shown in the Fig. 9 and Fig. As shown in Figure 10, the second section 216 of small diameter is formed in a cylindrical shape, which has an axial length that is shorter than the axial length of the interior of the first section 213 of large diameter. Furthermore, a positioning groove 216a is provided (see Figure 10). Fig. 9 and Fig. 11), into which the positioning projection 213a of the first section 213 of large diameter is fitted, formed in the outer circumferential surface of the second section 216 of small diameter.
[0036] As in the Fig. 9 and Fig. As shown in Figure 10, within the second cylindrical body 212 (the second section 214 of large diameter and the second section 216 of small diameter) a housing section 218a, in which a flow separation element 22 is arranged, and a communication path 218b are formed, which provides communication between the emission aperture 20o and the housing section 218a. The housing section 218a has a circular cross-sectional shape and is mainly defined by the second section 216 of small diameter in order to extend coaxially with the emission aperture 20o. The communication path 218b is designed such that its inner diameter gradually increases in one direction from the housing section 218a towards the emission aperture 20o and extends coaxially with the emission aperture 20o and the housing section 218a.In addition, the emission aperture 20o is shaped in such a way that its inner diameter gradually increases as the distance from the communication path 218b increases.
[0037] In the embodiment disclosed above, as described in the Fig. 9 and Fig. As shown in Figure 10, the housing section 218a, the communication path 218b, and the emission aperture 20o in the second cylindrical body 212 are shaped such that their respective axial centers are spaced apart (deviate from) the axial center of the supply path 215p of the first cylindrical body 211 (the first small-diameter section 215) on the central plane when the second small-diameter section 216 of the second cylindrical body 212 is inserted into the first large-diameter section 213 of the first cylindrical body 211. Furthermore, as shown in the Fig. 7 and Fig. Figure 10 shows several fluid passages 218p formed in the inner circumferential surfaces of the second large-diameter section 214 and the second small-diameter section 216, which define the housing section 218a, in order to project radially outwards into the inner circumferential surfaces. In the embodiment disclosed here, two fluid passages 218p, which have an arcuate cross-sectional shape, are formed in the second cylindrical body 212 such that they are symmetrical in the width direction with respect to the central plane of the nozzle 20, and each fluid passage 218p is defined by a plane that extends parallel to the concave circumferential surface.
[0038] The flow separation component 22 is a cylindrical component molded from a resin and has a through-hole (liquid passage) 22p extending along the central axis and having a circular cross-sectional shape. The flow separation component 22 has an outer diameter that is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the housing section 218a of the second cylindrical body 212. Additionally, as shown in Fig. Figure 6 shows a positioning projection 220 and several (at least three (e.g., four in the embodiment disclosed here)) press-fit ribs formed on the outer circumferential surface of the flow separation component 22. The flow separation component 22 is arranged within the second cylindrical body 212 such that the positioning projection 220 is fitted into the positioning groove 216b, which is formed in the second small-diameter section 216 of the second cylindrical body 212, and is further arranged such that the several press-fit ribs are press-fitted into the inner circumferential surface of the housing section 218a. The flow separation component 22 is thus arranged within the body 21 (the first and second cylindrical bodies 211 and 212) in a state in which the axial center of the through hole 22p and the axial center of the supply path 215p differ from each other on the center plane (are spaced apart).
[0039] Furthermore, the flow separation component 22 has two projections 221 which extend axially from the end surface opposite the side of the emission opening 200 and face each other radially. In the embodiment disclosed here, the outer circumferential surface of each projection 221 is a circumferential surface having the same radius of curvature as the outer circumferential surface of the flow separation component 22, and the inner (circumferential) surface and the end surface of each projection 221 are flat surfaces. When the flow separation component 22 is housed in the accommodation section 218a of the body 21 (the second cylindrical body 212), as shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 9, the projection 221 arranged on the upper side of the drawing faces the two projections 221 of the supply line 215p of the first cylindrical body 211, with a gap in the axial direction between them, and as shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 11, the inner surface of each projection 221 extends parallel to a plane which defines the two fluid passages 218p when viewed in the axial direction.
[0040] Additionally, the flow separation component 22 has a short cylindrical vortex flow formation section 222, which communicates with the through-hole 22p. As in Fig. As shown in Figure 6, the vortex flow formation section 22 has a cylindrical shape with a diameter smaller than that of the outer circumferential surface of the flow separation element 22 and projects axially from the end surface of the side of the discharge opening 20o of the flow separation element 22. When the flow separation element 22 is housed in the accommodation section 218a of the body 21 (the second cylindrical body 212), an annular space is formed between the outer circumferential surface of the vortex flow formation section 222 and the inner circumferential surface of the accommodation section 218a to communicate with the respective fluid passages 218p of the second cylindrical body 212, and the interior of the vortex flow formation section 222 communicates with the discharge opening 20o through the communication path 218b.
[0041] As in the Fig. 6, Fig. 9 and Fig. As shown in Figure 11, the vortex flow formation section 222 is configured with two liquid inlet openings 223, which extend in the tangential direction of the inner circumferential surface of the vortex flow formation section 222. In the embodiment disclosed here, the two liquid inlet openings 223 are configured in point-symmetrical positions with respect to the center of the vortex flow formation section 222 (e.g., the center of the discharge opening 200). Additionally, in the embodiment disclosed here, each liquid inlet opening 223 has a rectangular cross-sectional shape and, as shown in Figure 11, Fig. As shown in Figure 11, a plane defining each fluid inlet opening 223 has a plane that is in contact with the inner circumferential surface of the vortex flow formation section 222. When the flow separation component 22 is located in the housing section 218a of the body 21 (the second cylindrical body 212), as shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 11, when viewed in the axial direction, each liquid inlet opening 223 is arranged slightly closer to the side of the outlet opening 20o than the plane that defines the corresponding liquid passage 218p of the second cylindrical body 212. Therefore, the liquid inlet opening 223, i.e., the interior of the vortex flow-generating component 222, communicates with the corresponding (nearby) liquid passage 218p through the surrounding annular space.
[0042] When the nozzle 20, which comprises the first and second cylindrical bodies 211 and 212 and the flow separation element 22 described above, is assembled, the flow separation element 22 is positioned in the housing section 218a of the second cylindrical body 212 such that the positioning projection 220 is fitted into the positioning groove 216b of the second small-diameter section 216, and the multiple press-fit ribs are press-fitted into the inner circumferential surface of the housing section 218a. Therefore, the flow separation element 22 can be positioned in the second cylindrical body 212 (the body 21) such that the two fluid passages 218p are located on opposite sides in the space between the two projections 221, and the fluid inlet opening 223 of the vortex flow formation section 222 communicates with the corresponding fluid passage 218p.Additionally, the second small-diameter section 216, in which the flow separation element 22 is installed, is inserted into the first large-diameter section 213 such that the weld rib 214L of the second large-diameter section 214 is in contact with the end surface of the first large-diameter section 213 of the first cylindrical body 211, and the positioning projection 213a is fitted into the positioning groove 216a. Furthermore, when the second cylindrical body 212 is pressed against the first cylindrical body 211, ultrasonic waves are applied to the end surface surrounding the emission aperture 20o of the second large-diameter section 214 by an ultrasonic generator (not shown).
[0043] When the tip end section of the annular weld rib 214L has melted, the second large-diameter section 214, i.e., the second cylindrical body 212, is liquid-tightly welded to the first large-diameter section 213, i.e., the first cylindrical body 211. Therefore, the first and second cylindrical bodies 211 and 212 of the nozzle 20 can be liquid-tightly welded together without the use of a fixing component, such as a bolt, or a sealing component, and a reduction (in size) of the overall nozzle 20 can be ensured. Additionally, in the nozzle 20, the length L1 between the two end surfaces of the second large-diameter section 214 is set such that it is shorter than the length L2 between the two end surfaces of the first large-diameter section 213.Therefore, by applying ultrasonic waves from the end surface of the second large-diameter section 214 on the side of the emission aperture 20o, the welding rib 214L can be satisfactorily welded to the end surface of the first large-diameter section 213 of the first cylindrical body 211.
[0044] The Fig. 12 and Fig. Figure 13 are partial cross-sectional views showing a state in which the nozzle 20 is attached to the inclined section 112 of the base plate 10. As shown in the Fig. 12 and Fig. As shown in Figure 13, the inclined section 112 of the base plate 10 is equipped with a mounting section 113 on which the nozzle 20 is mounted, a wall section 114 at the distal end which has an opening designed to expose the discharge orifice 20o of the nozzle 20, and a pair of engagement sections 115 which can be engaged with the corresponding arm sections 217 of the nozzle 20. The mounting section 113 is shaped such that it has an arcuate cross-sectional shape along the outer circumferential surfaces of the first and second large-diameter sections 213 and 214 of the nozzle 20, and the surface of the mounting section 113 is in contact with the anti-slip component 213b, which is formed on the first cylindrical body 211 (the first large-diameter section 213) of the nozzle 20.
[0045] Additionally, each engagement section 115 has a groove 115a through which the arm section 217 of the nozzle 20 can be inserted, and a flat support surface 115s which is inclined to come into contact with the inclined surface 217s of the hook section 217f. In the embodiment disclosed herein, each engagement section 115 has a substantially right-angled triangular lateral shape, and the support surface 115s is arranged on the side of the distal end wall section 114 (i.e., on the side of the toilet bowl section 2) and extends from the vicinity of the corresponding side edge of the mounting section 113 to the side of the flat section 111 (the upper side in the drawing) such that the grooves 115a face each other and the mounting section 113 is arranged between them.Additionally, the angle α between the support surface 115s of each engagement section 115 and the extension direction of the inclined section 112 is set such that it is equal to the angle β between the plane P1 (see . Fig. 12), which extends perpendicular to the extension direction of the flat section 111 of the base plate 110, and to the extension direction of the inclined section 112, and to the inclination angle γ of the inclined surface 217s of the arm section 217 (the angle between the inclined surface 217s and the axial center of the first large-diameter section 213 (see Fig. 8)). Furthermore, the distance between the inner surfaces 115i of the grooves 115a, which face each other, is adjusted such that it is slightly shorter than the width between the sections of the pair of arm sections 217 which are closer to the base end sections 217a than the hook sections 217f.
[0046] When the nozzle 20 is mounted on the inclined section 112, which, as described above, has the pair of inlet sections 115, after, for example, a hose (not shown) has been connected to the first small-diameter section 215 (the supply opening 20i) of the nozzle 20, as shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 14, the nozzle 20 is pressed between the pair of engagement sections 115 from the side of the flat section 111 towards the side of the wall section 114 at the distal end, while the anti-slip projection 213b is brought into contact with the surface of the mounting section 113. When the nozzle 20 is pressed between the pair of engagement sections 115, each arm section 214 passes through the groove 115a in the corresponding engagement section 115, while being elastically deformed such that the side of the free end section 217b (the hook section 217f) approaches the outer circumferential surface, e.g., of the first large-diameter section 213.When the hook section 217f of each arm section 217 approaches the side of the wall section 114 at its distal end closer than the groove 115a, the section of each arm section 217 that is closer to the base end section 217a than the hook section 217f is pressed firmly onto the inner surface 115i of the corresponding groove 115a by the elasticity of the arm section 217. Additionally, the inclined surface 217s of each hook section 217f is in contact with the support surface 115s of the corresponding engagement section 115.
[0047] By elastically deforming each arm section 217 to be inserted into the groove 115a in the corresponding engagement section 115, so that the free end section 217b (the hook section 217f) approaches the outer circumferential surface, and then elastically fitting each arm section 217 into the groove 115a, the nozzle 20 can be fixed to the inclined section 112 of the base plate 110 by a snap-fit without the use of a fixing component. Additionally, by bringing the inclined surface 217s formed on the hook section 217f and each arm section 217 into contact with the support surface 115s of the corresponding engagement section 115, the rotation of the nozzle 20 can be satisfactorily regulated, even if some slippage or play occurs between the groove 115a and the arm section 217 in a direction which is orthogonal to the extension direction of the arm section 217.As a result, the nozzle 20 can be adequately fixed to the inclined section 112 of the base plate 110, while suppressing an increase in installation space.
[0048] The following describes the operation of the nozzle 20 provided in the sanitary washing device 10, wherein the sanitary washing device 10 is configured as described above.
[0049] A control device (not shown) of the sanitary washing device 10 controls the actuator described above such that it moves one of the cylinder sections 15s and 16s towards the side of the toilet bowl section 2 when, based on a signal from the seat sensor 19 and a signal from a seat switch (not shown), which is activated by the rotation of the hinge section of the seat 12, it has been determined that the user is sitting on the toilet bowl 1 (the seat 12). When one of the cylinder sections 15s and 16s moves towards the toilet bowl section 2, the pressing section 15p or 16p presses the sliding element 180 of the connecting mechanism 18, causing the sliding element 180 to move towards the flap 17.This causes the first and second connectors 181 and 182 to move, pressing against the flap 17 with the movement of the sliding element 180, and the flap 17 rotates so that it springs upwards around the hinge 17h. Additionally, the control device stops the cylinder section 15s or 16s at the moment the sliding element 180 of the connecting mechanism 18 comes into contact with one end of the guide section 11g. Therefore, a section of the flap 17 is supported by the cylinder section 15s or 16s such that the flap is held in the open position.
[0050] The control device of the sanitary washing device 10 then controls the rotary valve such that water is supplied from the water tank (or the heat exchanger, which contains the heating element) to the supply opening 20i of the nozzle 20. When water is supplied to the supply opening 20i of the nozzle 20, the water moves within the supply line 215p of the nozzle 20 and is introduced into the first large-diameter section 213. A portion of the water introduced into the first large-diameter section 213 is introduced into the through-hole 22p in the flow separator 22 and moves directly to the discharge opening 20o.Additionally, a portion of the water introduced in the first large-diameter section 213 is introduced into two liquid passages 218p formed in the second cylindrical body 212 and moves directly along the outer circumferential surface of the flow separation component 22 towards the annular space between the outer circumferential surface of the vortex flow formation section 222 and the inner circumferential surface of the accommodation section 218a.
[0051] In the nozzle 20 according to the embodiment disclosed herein, instead of a fluid passage being formed in the outer circumferential surface of the flow separation element 22, the two fluid passages 218p are formed in the inner circumferential surface of the second cylindrical body 212, which forms the body 21. By appropriately adjusting the cross-sectional areas of the through-hole 22p and the two fluid passages 218p, the water from the supply opening 20i through the flow separation element 22 can be appropriately divided or separated into several water flow components between the supply opening 20i and the discharge opening 20o. Additionally, the diameter of the flow separation element 22 can be easily reduced compared to a case in which several fluid passages are formed in the outer circumferential surface of the flow separation element 22.
[0052] In the nozzle 20, the flow separation element 22 is arranged within the body 21 in such a way that the axial center of the through-hole 22p and the axial center of the supply line or supply path 215 are not aligned with each other, and the flow separation element 22 is equipped with the projection 221, which protrudes towards the side of the supply path 215p and faces the supply path 215p with a gap between them. Therefore, in the nozzle 20, the water discharged from the supply path 215p can be brought into collision with the projection 221, which faces the supply path 215p in such a way that the water can be adequately distributed between the through-hole 20p of the flow separation element 22 and the two liquid passages 218p, and the flow rate of the water introduced into the two liquid passages 218p can be optimized.
[0053] Additionally, the water that has passed through each liquid passage 218p is introduced from the annular space into the vortex flow formation section 222 via the liquid inlet opening 223. As described above, each liquid inlet opening 223 extends in the tangential direction of the inner circumferential surface of the vortex flow formation section 222, and the flow separation element 22 is arranged in the second cylindrical body 212 (the body 21) such that the liquid inlet opening 223 communicates with the corresponding liquid passage 218p. Therefore, the nozzle 20 can efficiently generate a vortex flow in the vortex flow formation section 222 and force the swirling water out through the water from the through-hole 23 so that the water is jetted out of the discharge opening 20o.Therefore, in a state in which the flap 17 is held in its open position, the water from the jet opening 20o of the nozzle can be swirled and jetted in a spiral pattern in such a way that it spreads evenly over a further area of the surface of the toilet bowl section 2.
[0054] As described above, in the sanitary washing device 10, when the flap 17, which serves as the movable spray suppressor, has been rotated from the closed position to its open position, water can be sprayed from the nozzle 20 onto the surface of the toilet bowl section 2 of the toilet bowl 1. Even when the water is sprayed from the nozzle 20 onto the toilet bowl section 2 while the user is sitting on the toilet bowl 1, water can escape through the flap 17, which has a relatively large opening (see Fig. 2) The jetted water (water droplets) is prevented from being scattered towards the top of the toilet bowl 1, and it can be satisfactorily prevented from scattering water droplets adhering to the user's hips or legs. Additionally, by spraying the water from the nozzle 20 onto the toilet bowl section 2, the surface of the toilet bowl section 2 can be smoothed, making it more difficult for dirt to adhere to it, and a film of water can be temporarily stored between the dirt and the surface of the toilet bowl section 2, thus allowing the dirt to be easily removed from the surface of the toilet bowl section 2 when the toilet bowl is washed.
[0055] As a result, it is possible to prevent dirt from adhering to the surface of the toilet bowl section 2 of the toilet bowl 1 without causing discomfort to the user. Additionally, since the flap 17 is movable, it can return to the closed position when no water is being emitted from the nozzle 20. Therefore, the flap 17 cannot, for example, interrupt other functions of the sanitary washing device 10, and it cannot, for example, interrupt the cleaning of the toilet bowl 1. Furthermore, since several fluid passages 218p are formed in the second cylindrical body 212 to reduce the size of the nozzle 20, any increase in the size of the sanitary washing device 10 due to the installation of the nozzle 20 can be suppressed.
[0056] Additionally, the flap 17 of the sanitary washing device rotates (moves) between the closed and open positions with the forward and backward movements of the cylinder sections 15s and 16s of the hip washing nozzle 15 and the bidet nozzle 16, which are nozzles for washing a human body. Therefore, it is possible to avoid increasing the size or cost of the sanitary washing device 10 by installing a drive device for the flap 17.
[0057] In the sanitary washing device 10, the flap 17 is further designed to cover the tip end sections of the hip wash nozzle 15 and the bidet nozzle 16 in their closed position. That is, the flap 17 also serves as a nozzle flap or cover to prevent contamination of the hip wash nozzle 15 and the bidet nozzle 16. Therefore, an increase in the size or cost of the sanitary washing device 10 due to the installation of the flap 17 for the nozzle 20 can be avoided.
[0058] Additionally, the sanitary washing device 10 comprises the housing 11, in which the hip wash nozzle 15 and the bidet nozzle 16 are housed and which rotatably mounts the flap 17, and the connecting mechanism 18, which serves as a motion converter mechanism that converts a linear movement of the cylinder sections 15s and 16s of the hip wash nozzle 15 and the bidet nozzle 16 in the axial direction into a rotational movement of the flap 17. Therefore, it is possible to rotate the flap 17 with the movement of the cylinder sections 15s and 16s. Furthermore, by converting the linear movement of the cylinder sections 15s and 16s into the rotational movement of the flap 17 via the connecting mechanism 18, the flap can be rotated from the closed position to the open position, regardless of whether the nozzle bodies 15n and 16n move forward or backward.
[0059] Additionally, in the sanitary washing device 10, the flap 17 can be designed to rotate (move) between the closed and open positions with the back-and-forth movements of the nozzle bodies 15n and 16n of the hip wash nozzle 15 and the bidet nozzle 16. Furthermore, the flap 17 can also be designed to move (rotate) into the open position by being pressed by the hip wash nozzle 15 and the bidet nozzle 16 (the nozzle bodies 15n and 16n), which move towards the side of the toilet bowl section 2, and to move (rotate) into the closed position when the nozzles 15 and 16 (the nozzle bodies 15n and 16n) are moved into the housing 11 by being pre-tensioned by the spring.
[0060] In the sanitary washing device 10, the motion converter mechanism has the first connector 181, which is coupled to the sliding element 180 via a pin, on the side of one end thereof, and on the side of the other end thereof the sliding element 180, which is guided through the housing 11 and pressed through the cylinder sections 15s and 16s; however, the motion converter mechanism is not limited to this. That is to say, the sanitary washing device 10 can be equipped with a Fig. 15 and Fig. It will be equipped with the motion converter mechanism shown in section 16. One of the Fig. 15 and Fig. The motion converter mechanism 18X shown in Figure 16 comprises a press component 150, a connecting component 170 which is rotatably mounted through the housing and fixed to the flap 17, and a rotating component 190 which is rotatably mounted through the housing 11 via a bearing shaft.
[0061] The pressed component 150 can move back and forth in the axial direction of the cylinder section with at least one of the cylinder sections of the hip wash nozzle and the cylinder section of the bidet nozzle, both of which are not shown. The connecting component 170 has a base end section (one end section) 171, which is rotatably mounted by the housing 11, a fixing section (the other end section) 172, which is fixed to the flap 17, a curved section (bent section) 173, which is formed between the base end section 171 and the fixing section 172, and a pressed section 175 (e.g., a roller) which is provided in the curved section 173. Furthermore, a spring (not shown) is intermediately mounted between the connecting component 170 and the housing 11, and the connecting component 170 is held by the spring towards the side of the closed position of the flap 17, which is in Fig. As shown in 15, it is pre-tensioned.
[0062] The rotating component 190 has a pressed section 191 and a pressed section 195. The pressed section 191 is arranged such that it is spaced apart from the bearing shaft and has a contact surface that can be in contact with the end section of the pressed component 150. As shown, the contact surface of the pressed section 191 is inclined to be spaced apart from the bearing shaft, and thus also spaced apart from a plane that is orthogonal to the direction of movement of the pressed component 150. The pressed section 195 of the rotating component 190 is shaped such that it is spaced further away from the bearing shaft than the pressed section 191.
[0063] In the motion converter mechanism 18X, when, for example, the hip wash nozzle is moved towards the toilet bowl section 2, the pressed section 191 of the rotating component 190 is pressed by the pressing component 150, which moves together with the cylinder section towards the toilet bowl section 2. Therefore, the rotating component 190 rotates around the bearing shaft from the side of the upper surface of the toilet bowl to the side of the toilet bowl section 2 (counterclockwise in the drawing), whereby the pressing section 195 of the rotating component 190 presses the pressed section 175 of the connecting component 170.Then the pressed section 175 of the connecting component 170 moves from the side of the upper surface of the toilet bowl to the side of the toilet bowl section 2 by being pressed through the pressing section 195 of the rotating component 190, causing the connecting component 170 to rotate about a bearing shaft on the base end section 171. As a result, the flap 17 rotates against the preload force of the spring from the Fig. 15 shown closed position in the in Fig. 16 shown open positions.
[0064] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 16, when the pressing component 150 (the cylinder section) is moved towards the toilet bowl section 2, the pressed section 191 is no longer substantially in contact with the pressing component 150 due to the change in position (collapse) of the pressed section 191 depending on the rotation of the rotating component 190, which stops the rotation of the rotating component 190. Then, in the motion converter mechanism 18X, as shown in Fig.Figure 16 shows that, at a point in time slightly earlier than when the rotation of the rotating component 190 stops, the contact between the pressed section 175 of the connecting component 170 and the pressed section 195 of the rotating component 190 is broken, and a section of the pressed component 150 is brought into contact with a section of the connecting component 170. That is, the rotating component 190 is pressed through the pressed component 150 (the cylinder section) during at least part of the linear movement of the pressed component 150 (the cylinder section), and the connecting component 170 is pressed through the pressed component 150 (the cylinder section) during at least part of the linear movement of the pressed component 150 (the cylinder section). The pressing of the connecting component 170 by the pressing component 150 (the cylinder section) is started before the pressing of the rotating component 190 by the pressing component 150 (the cylinder section) is completed, and the pressing of the connecting component 170 by the pressing component 150 (the cylinder section) is started after the pressing of the rotating component 190 by the pressing component 150 (the cylinder section) is completed. Therefore, when the pressing component 150 (the cylinder section) stops, the flap 17 is supported by a section of the pressing component 150 and thus held in the open position.
[0065] Even with the motion converter mechanism 18, as described above, the flap 17 can be rotated with the movement of the cylinder sections of the hip wash nozzle and the bidet nozzle. Additionally, by converting a linear movement of the cylinder section into a rotary movement of the flap 17 via the motion converter mechanism 18X, the flap 17 can be rotated from the closed position to the open position, regardless of whether the nozzle body, e.g., of the hip wash nozzle, moves back and forth. Furthermore, in the sanitary washing device which incorporates the motion converter mechanism 18X, when the press-fit component 150 moves from the toilet bowl section 2 towards the inside of the housing 11, the flap 17 is returned from the closed position (not shown) to the closed position by the preload force of the spring provided between the flap 17 and the housing 11.
