Description

[0001] The invention relates to an auxiliary roller rod device (or auxiliary torque rod device) for mounting a drive train of a vehicle, and more particularly to an auxiliary roller rod device in which an auxiliary roller rod can be mounted in a side member so as to be assembled with the drive train, thereby controlling the forward and backward movement of the drive train while improving the ease of assembly of the drive train.

[0002] Generally, when assembling a powertrain comprising an engine (e.g., an internal combustion engine) and a transmission in an engine compartment of a vehicle, the powertrain is mounted using a fastener to control vibration and roll (or rotation or pitch) motion using a three-point support method.

[0003] With reference to the left image in Fig. 11, the fastening element may be an engine mount 102 mounted between an engine of a powertrain 100 and a vehicle body subframe 200 to support the engine, a transmission mount 104 mounted between a transmission of the powertrain 100 and the vehicle body subframe 200 to support the transmission, and a roller rod 106 for controlling the roll (or twisting or pitch) of the powertrain 100, etc.

[0004] In the case of mounting the drive train according to the three-point support method, there is an advantage for vibration control with respect to the drive train, but there is also a disadvantage in that the drive train moves significantly in the forward and backward directions under operating conditions such as rapid acceleration and rapid braking due to the weak control of the forward and backward movement of the vehicle as a result of the instantaneous vibration.

[0005] In addition, when assembling the powertrain using the three-point support method, problems such as bolt loosening and fastener breakage may arise due to irregular vibration caused by high engine torque. Furthermore, when repairing a broken bolt, fasteners such as the engine mount, transmission mount, and idler rod must be replaced with new parts, resulting in excessive maintenance costs.

[0006] DE 10 2011 052 997 A1 describes an auxiliary roller bar device for mounting a drive train of a vehicle, comprising a drive train mounted in an engine compartment of the vehicle in a three-point support by means of an engine mount mounted between an engine of the drive train and a vehicle body subframe, a transmission mount mounted between a transmission of the drive train and the vehicle body subframe, and a roller bar mounted between a rear portion of the drive train and the vehicle body subframe, and an auxiliary roller bar further mounted near the vehicle body subframe such that it is attached to a bracket formed on the engine.

[0007] Another auxiliary roller rod device for mounting a drive train of a vehicle is known from DE 10 2011 054 043 A1.

[0008] The invention provides an auxiliary roller bar device for mounting a drive train of a vehicle, in which, in addition to mounting the drive train in an engine compartment of the vehicle by means of a fastener according to a three-point support method, an auxiliary roller bar can be mounted which can be mounted with the drive train in a side member of a vehicle body, whereby the forward and backward movement of the drive train is controlled while the noise, vibration & harshness (NVH) behavior is maintained by the three-point support method and the ease of mounting the drive train with respect to the engine compartment is improved.

[0009] According to the invention, there is provided an auxiliary roller bar device for mounting a powertrain of a vehicle, in which the powertrain is mounted in an engine compartment in a three-point support (according to a three-point support method) by means of an engine mount (or engine bearing) mounted between an engine (e.g., an internal combustion engine) of the powertrain and a vehicle body subframe, a transmission mount (or transmission bearing) mounted between a transmission of the powertrain and the vehicle body subframe, and a roller bar (or main roller bar) mounted between a rear portion of the powertrain and the vehicle body subframe, and an auxiliary roller bar is further mounted in a side member near the vehicle body subframe to be fixed to a bracket formed on the engine.

[0010] Specifically, the auxiliary pulley rod may include a body having a first through-hole and a second through-hole having different diameters, an engine mounting tube disposed at the inner diameter center of the first through-hole of the body, a vehicle body mounting tube disposed at the inner diameter center of the second through-hole of the body, a first elastic body (or spring body) disposed between the inner diameter surface of the first through-hole and the outer diameter surface of the engine mounting tube, and a second elastic body (or spring body) disposed between the inner diameter surface of the second through-hole and the outer diameter surface of the vehicle body mounting tube.

[0011] Preferably, a third elastic body (or spring body) for preventing noise may be formed on an outer surface of the body in a portion in which the first through-hole is formed.

[0012] Furthermore, the first elastic body may be composed of an up-and-down elastic body vertically connecting the inner diameter surface of the first through-hole and the outer diameter surface of the motor mounting pipe, and a left-and-right elastic body formed on both sides of the inner diameter surface of the first through-hole to contact the outer diameter surface of the motor mounting pipe.

[0013] Further, an auxiliary roller rod mounting hole may be formed to penetrate the side member, and a reinforcement housing for mounting the auxiliary roller rod may be embedded in the side member through the auxiliary roller rod mounting hole.

[0014] Specifically, the reinforcement casing may be composed of a box structural body having an auxiliary roller rod receiving space passing forward and rearward for mounting the auxiliary roller rod, a first fixing plate formed on the inner side portion of the box structural body and fixed to the side member, and a second fixing plate formed on the outer side portion of the box structural body and fixed to the auxiliary roller rod.

[0015] In addition, an auxiliary roller rod fixing bolt may be fixed through the second fixing plate into the vehicle body fixing tube of the auxiliary roller rod.

[0016] Preferably, the auxiliary roller rod mounting opening formed in the side member may be covered by a wheel cover that is firmly coupled to the outside of the side member.

[0017] Furthermore, the bracket formed on the motor may be formed on a chain cover of the motor and provided as a structure in which a hollow tube where the motor fixing tube of the auxiliary pulley rod is inserted and fixed is formed to protrude.

[0018] Furthermore, a long reinforcement screw can be inserted into the engine mounting tube and attached to it.

[0019] The invention offers the following effects through the configuration described above.

[0020] First, since in addition to mounting the powertrain in the engine compartment by the conventional three-point support method by mounting the auxiliary roller bar that can be assembled with the powertrain in the side member, mounting the powertrain by the three-plus-one support method is performed, it is possible to maintain the NVH behavior by the conventional three-point support method and control the forward and backward movement of the powertrain by the auxiliary roller bar.

[0021] Secondly, because the auxiliary roller bar controls the forward and backward movement of the driveline, it is possible to absorb and eliminate shocks and vibrations when the driveline moves sharply forward and backward, while rolling or rotating movement of the driveline is performed during rapid acceleration and rapid braking of the vehicle.

[0022] Thirdly, since the auxiliary roller rod is mounted in the side member, there is the advantage that a separate accommodation space is not required, and in particular, by mounting the reinforcement casing in which the auxiliary roller rod is embedded, it is possible to increase the strength of the side member.

[0023] The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. [0029] Reference will now be made in detail to various embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings and described below. While the invention has been described in connection with exemplary embodiments, it is to be understood that the present description is not intended to limit the invention to those exemplary embodiments. On the contrary, the invention is intended to cover not only the exemplary embodiments, but also various alternatives, modifications, equivalents, and other embodiments which may be included within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.

[0030] Exemplary embodiments of the invention are described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0031] As described above, when assembling a powertrain having an engine and a transmission in an engine compartment, the powertrain is mounted in the engine compartment using a three-point support method that uses an engine mount mounted between the engine of the powertrain and a vehicle body subframe, a transmission mount mounted between the transmission of the powertrain and the vehicle body subframe, and a main pulley rod mounted between the rear portion of the powertrain and the vehicle body subframe.

[0032] In addition to the three-point support method, according to the invention, an auxiliary pulley bar is further mounted in a side member above the vehicle body subframe so as to be fixed to a bracket formed on the engine to mount the drive train according to a three-plus-one support method.

[0033] The Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 show an auxiliary roller rod device for mounting the drive train according to the invention.

[0034] An auxiliary pulley rod 10 according to the invention uses a body 13 having a first through hole 11 and a second through hole 12 with different diameters as a skeleton or frame, and the body 13 can be manufactured by extruding an aluminum material.

[0035] An engine mounting pipe 14 may be arranged in the inner diameter center of the first through hole 11 of the body 13, a vehicle body mounting pipe 15 may be arranged in the inner diameter center of the second through hole 12 of the body 13, and the engine mounting pipe 14 and the vehicle body mounting pipe 15 may be manufactured by extruding an aluminum material or by drawing a steel material.

[0036] In addition, a first elastic body 16 vulcanized from the material having a spring force, such as rubber, is arranged between the inner diameter surface of the first through hole 11 of the body 13 and the outer diameter surface of the engine mounting pipe 14, and a second elastic body 17 vulcanized from the material having a spring force, such as rubber, is arranged between the inner diameter surface of the second through hole 12 of the body 13 and the outer diameter surface of the vehicle body mounting pipe 15.

[0037] Since the first elastic body 16 supports the engine mounting pipe 14 connected to the engine side, the vertical vibration, the rolling vibration (or rotational or pitch vibration), etc., from the engine can be supplied to the first elastic body 16 via the engine mounting pipe 15, and thereby a deformation receiving space of the first elastic body 16 is required.

[0038] Accordingly, the first elastic body 16 is composed of an up-and-down elastic body 16-1 vertically connecting the inner diameter surface of the first through-hole 11 and the outer diameter surface of the motor mounting tube 14, and a left-and-right elastic body 16-2 formed on both sides of the inner diameter surface of the first through-hole 11 to contact the outer diameter surface of the motor mounting tube 14, so that the space between the up-and-down elastic body 16-1 and the left-and-right elastic body 16-2 is a deformation receiving space 16-3 of the first elastic body 16.

[0039] In addition, a third elastic body 19 for preventing noise is further vulcanized so as to be formed on the outer surface of the portion of the body 13 where the first through hole 11 is formed.

[0040] The third elastic body 18 is, as described later, firmly supported on the inner surface of a reinforcement housing 30 mounted in a longitudinal beam 20 so as to serve as a stop that absorbs and dampens various vibrations.

[0041] For example, if the third elastic body 18 is not provided, the outer surface of the body 13 and the inner surface of the reinforcement casing 30 may be subjected to various vibrations and impacts with noise, but if the third elastic body 18 is formed on the outer surface of the body 13, it serves as a stopper for damping various vibrations and impacts by directly contacting the inner surface of the reinforcement casing 30.

[0042] The auxiliary roller bar 10 having the configuration described above is mounted in the longitudinal member 20 near the vehicle body subframe.

[0043] For this purpose, as described in the Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, an auxiliary roller rod mounting hole 21 is formed to penetrate the side member 20, and the reinforcement casing 30 for defining a mounting space of the auxiliary roller rod 10 is embedded in the side member 20 through the auxiliary roller rod mounting hole 21.

[0044] Since the reinforcement housing 30 is embedded in the manufacture of the side member 20 to serve as a reinforcement of the side member 20 while defining the mounting space of the auxiliary pulley rod 10, the reinforcement housing 30 can replace the conventional two or more reinforcement plates separately mounted in the side member 20.

[0045] The reinforcement casing 30 is composed of a box structural body 32 having an auxiliary roller rod receiving space 31 passing forward and rearward for mounting the auxiliary roller rod 10, a first fixing plate 33 formed at the opening portion of the inside of the box structural body 32 so as to be fixed to the side member 20 by means of a weld nut, and a second fixing plate 34 formed at the opening portion of the outside of the box structural body 32 so as to be fixed to the vehicle body fixing tube 15 of the auxiliary roller rod 10.

[0046] Fig. 5 shows the process of mounting the auxiliary roller rod 10 in the reinforcement housing 30 mounted in the side member.

[0047] As in Fig. 5, the auxiliary roller rod 10 is fixedly mounted in the reinforcement housing 30 within the side member 20 by inserting it into the reinforcement housing 30 on the outside of the side member 20 and then fastening an auxiliary roller rod fastening bolt 35 in the vehicle body fastening tube 15 of the auxiliary roller rod 10 through the second fastening plate 34.

[0048] The engine mounting pipe 14 of the auxiliary pulley rod 10 is in a state of protruding toward the engine compartment through the inner side surface of the side member 20.

[0049] Accordingly, as in Fig. 6, the engine mounting pipe 14 of the auxiliary pulley rod 10 is shown in a state in which it projects toward the engine compartment through the inner side surface of the side member 20 so that it can be fixed to an engine-side bracket 42 of the drive train 100 mounted in the engine compartment.

[0050] Preferably, the motor-side bracket 42 is provided as a structure in which a hollow tube 44, where the motor fixing tube 14 of the auxiliary pulley rod 10 is inserted and fixed, is formed protrudingly so as to be integrally formed with a chain cover 40 of the motor or separately mounted thereon.

[0051] The Fig. 7 and Fig. 8 show the process of mounting the drive train in the engine compartment by means of the auxiliary pulley bar according to the invention.

[0052] In the state where the engine mounting tube 14 of the auxiliary pulley rod 10 protrudes toward the engine compartment through the inner side surface of the side member 20, the power train 100 is arranged in position in the engine compartment by entering from the bottom of the engine compartment to the top thereof and then inserting and fixing the engine mounting tube 14 of the auxiliary pulley rod 10 into the hollow tube 44 of the engine-side bracket 42.

[0053] Then, by inserting and fastening a long reinforcement bolt 36 into the inner portion of the engine mounting tube 14 in the direction from the outside of the side member 20, the connection between the auxiliary pulley rod 10 and the drive train 100 is completed.

[0054] Because instead of mounting the drive train in the engine compartment according to the conventional three-point support method, as shown in the left picture of Fig. 11, in addition to the three-point support method by mounting the auxiliary roller bar 10, which can be assembled with the drive train 100 in the longitudinal member 20, as shown in the right picture of Fig. 11, mounting of the powertrain 100 is performed by the three-plus-one support method, it is possible to maintain the NVH behavior by the conventional three-point support method and control the forward and backward movement of the powertrain by the auxiliary roller bar.

[0055] This means that it is possible to absorb and remove shocks and vibrations with the auxiliary roller bar when the driveline moves sharply forward and backward, while a rolling or rotating movement of the driveline is performed during rapid acceleration and rapid braking of the vehicle.

[0056] In addition, since the engine mounting tube 14 of the auxiliary pulley rod 10 is inserted into and fixed to the hollow tube 44 of the engine-side bracket 42, the assembly of the drive train 100 in the engine compartment is performed in such a way that it is possible to omit a conventional separate jig in the assembly of the drive train.

[0057] That is, as in Fig. 10, the powertrain has conventionally been supported by means of a separate jig 46 such as a buffer bolt to mount the powertrain in the engine compartment, however, according to the invention, the engine mounting pipe 14 is inserted into and fixed to the hollow pipe 44 of the engine-side bracket 42 to achieve a state in which the powertrain 100 is firmly mounted, so that it is possible to perform a subsequent powertrain mounting operation even without using the conventional separate jig 46.

[0058] Meanwhile, the auxiliary roller rod mounting hole 21 formed in the outer side of the side member 20 is in a state exposed to the outside, but as shown in Fig. 9, the auxiliary roller rod mounting opening 21 may be covered, so as not to be exposed, by a wheel cover 48 arranged on the outside of the side member 20.
