Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a membrane arrangement for installation in housing parts in the motor vehicle sector, having an edge region in which a separating membrane is fastened, wherein a support arrangement is provided by which the separating membrane is protected against excessive pressure loading, wherein the support arrangement has at least one support membrane which bears against the separating membrane on one side, wherein the edge region is formed by an at least comparatively material and / or form-fitting edge connection.
[0002] Such diaphragm arrangements are used in a wide variety of ways in the automotive sector. For example, they can be used to separate hydraulic chambers from one another in a fluid-tight manner, with the separating diaphragm intended to dampen vibrations in the fluid. Fluid-tight separating diaphragms can also be used in the acoustics sector. They also serve to ventilate or vent housings or containers in the automotive sector. An example of such a separating diaphragm in the automotive sector can be found in the British laid-open patent application GB 2 237 355 A. The German laid-open patent application DE 10 2014 216 327 A1 also discloses a diaphragm arrangement in a hydraulically damped engine mount, which separates a working chamber from a compensation chamber. The separating diaphragm is fastened in an edge region consisting of an inner and an outer frame. To protect the separation membrane, a mesh-like surface structure is provided that limits the amplitude of the separation membrane, thus significantly increasing its service life. It should be clear that the manufacture of the frame part with the attached separation membrane and the required support arrangement is very complex and therefore costly. Furthermore, a membrane arrangement is known from International Patent Application WO 2019 / 074069 A1 in which a membrane is constructed from two membrane parts arranged one above the other. However, even with such a membrane arrangement, the service life of the separation membrane is adversely affected by the applied pressure load.
[0003] The object of the invention is therefore to avoid the above-mentioned disadvantage in a simple and cost-effective manner.
[0004] This task is achieved by providing a support membrane on both sides of the separating membrane. This makes it possible to create a particularly simple membrane arrangement that is inexpensive to manufacture and can be securely sealed within housing components, allowing pressure loading on both sides of the separating membrane. Common materials for the separating membrane and the support membranes are PTFE, PES, and PET.
[0005] In a particularly advantageous manner, the support membrane has a significantly higher stiffness than the separation membrane.
[0006] Additionally or alternatively, it is conceivable that a grid structure is inserted between at least one support membrane and the separating membrane to further increase the rigidity of the membrane arrangement. A grid structure could be, for example, a mesh or fabric made of metal (steel, Al, Cu, CuSn, CuZn, and their common alloys) or a fiber material such as GRP or CFRP.
[0007] Particularly advantageously, the edge connection is designed as an embossed section. If this embossing occurs in specific areas, the stiffness of the membrane arrangement can be specifically influenced. The embossing, especially of the carrier layers, has a partially stiffening effect on the one hand, and on the other hand, it influences the permeability of the overall composite. This has the significant advantage that no leakage path can develop around the actual separation membrane.
[0008] The invention is explained in more detail with reference to a drawing. The single figure shows a schematic sectional view of a membrane arrangement according to the invention.
[0009] The schematic sectional view shows a membrane arrangement 2 according to the invention for housing parts (not shown in detail) in the automotive sector. The membrane arrangement 2 is intended here to ventilate or de-ventilate a housing part. For this purpose, the membrane arrangement 2 has a separating membrane 4, which is protected from excessive pressure loads by a support arrangement 5. For this purpose, the support arrangement 5 initially consists of support membranes 6, 8 provided on both sides of the separating membrane 4. On the upward-facing side of the separating membrane 4, a grid structure 10 is also inserted, directed towards the support membrane 6. In the present exemplary embodiment, the first support membrane 6, the grid structure 10, the separating membrane 4, and the second support membrane 8 are simply placed flat on top of one another. The supporting effect of the support membranes 6, 8 in the present exemplary embodiment is achieved by the thicker design of the support membranes 6, 8 compared to the separating membrane 4.However, different materials, properties, etc. can also be selected for the supporting effect of the support membranes 6, 8. In a peripheral edge region 12, the support membranes 6, 8 and the separating membrane 4 are embossed together using embossing means 14, forming a positive edge connection 16. By embossing in certain areas, the stiffness profile of both the separating membrane 4 and the support membranes 6, 8 can be adjusted in certain areas in order to optimize the stiffness of the membrane arrangement 2.
