Abstract
Description
Field of the invention
[0001] The invention relates to a high-voltage system with a component State of the art
[0002] State-of-the-art technology, e.g., for automotive applications, includes electronic units with a closed housing, which includes a pressure equalization element (PDE). The PDE is intended to enable pressure equalization between the interior of the housing and the external environment of the housing, e.g., when a gas enclosed in the interior expands due to heating.
[0003] Such an electronic unit with a DAE is known from DE 10 2008 054 577 A1. DE 20 2019 100 048 U1 shows a high-voltage feedthrough for passing a high-voltage cable through a wall of a housing of a motor vehicle's energy system. Furthermore, DE 20 2019 100 047 U1 shows a high-voltage plug connector for a vehicle. Furthermore, DE 10 2019 100 227 A1, US 2017 / 0 094 845 A1, WO 02 / 17 439 A1, and US 2016 / 0 352 215 A1 are known from the prior art. Disclosure of the invention
[0004] The invention is based on the realization that even in high-voltage systems (e.g. electrical machines for electrically powered vehicles) a pressure equalization element (DAE) may be necessary in a housing of the high-voltage system. A high-voltage system can be considered to be, for example, a system in which a high-voltage component is operated with voltages of more than, for example, 42V, e.g. with more than 100V or with more than 120V or with more than 200V, e.g. with 400V or with 800V. In such high-voltage systems it may be necessary for the high-voltage component or a high-voltage circuit supplying it to be safe from contact by humans as long as a high voltage is applied to them or that the high voltage is interrupted as soon as contact with live parts is possible (e.g. when opening the housing).
[0005] To protect people from direct and indirect contact with dangerous voltages (e.g. more than 42V), a (separate) electrical signal circuit can be used. In the event of an electrical interruption, this switches off the high-voltage sources or the high-voltage power supply of the high-voltage system. If, for example, there is a risk that high-voltage parts could be touched when the housing is open, a connector can be arranged on the openable element of the housing (e.g. screwed to a side of a housing cover facing the interior). This connector is only electrically connected to a mating connector of the signal circuit in the interior of the housing when the housing is closed and closes the signal circuit (only) when contacted.
[0006] If, however, the housing is opened, the connector and mating connector are not electrically connected, the signal circuit is interrupted and the high-voltage source is switched off.
[0007] However, the arrangement of the connector and the DAE in or on the housing or a housing wall incurs design and manufacturing costs. Furthermore, forgetting one of the two elements during assembly can result in costs for reassembly. Furthermore, several parts (at least one DAE and one connector) must be manufactured individually, transported to production, stored in stock, and assembled. This increases the complexity of manufacturing the high-voltage system.
[0008] There may therefore be a need to make the production of the high-voltage system simple and cost-effective, to save storage costs, to reduce the number of parts to be assembled and at the same time to enable pressure equalization of the housing interior to the outside environment and to ensure touch safety of high-voltage parts of the high-voltage system and at the same time to implement the two functions in the smallest possible space. Advantages of the invention
[0009] This need can be met by the subject matter of the present invention according to the independent claims. Advantageous embodiments of the present invention are described in the dependent claims.
[0010] A component for a high-voltage system is proposed.
[0011] The component comprises a pressure compensation element and an electrical connector. The pressure compensation element has at least one fluid-conducting channel, and the connector can be connected to a mating connector of the high-voltage system.
[0012] This advantageously integrates two functions (pressure compensation element and contact protection device) into a single component. This enables simpler and more cost-effective installation on a high-voltage system or the high-voltage system itself – because a separate component is no longer required while maintaining the same functionality. This advantageously saves transport and storage costs. Furthermore, the risk of confusion or forgetting parts during assembly is reduced.
[0013] The pressure equalization element (DAE) is designed to fluidically connect an interior of a housing of the high-voltage system with an external environment of the housing via the channel. This allows pressure equalization between the interior and the external environment to be achieved.
[0014] In particular, the component is not to be understood as a complete part of the housing, e.g., the component is not the entire cover of a housing. Rather, the component is to be understood as an element that can be connected, e.g., to a movable or openable sub-element of the housing. If, for example, a housing cover of the housing can be opened and a person can thus gain access to high-voltage parts of the high-voltage system, the component can be connected to the openable part as an element that is initially separate from this openable or movable part (here: the housing cover).
[0015] The component can be used as a type of module, for example, for various housings or for various high-voltage systems, which enables particularly cost-effective production in large quantities.
[0016] The component is advantageously designed to be particularly compact to simplify transport and storage. For example, the component can have a lateral dimension (viewed along a radial direction perpendicular to the insertion direction) of, for example, a maximum of 15 cm, preferably a maximum of 10 cm, particularly preferably a maximum of 5 cm, and most preferably a maximum of 2 cm or even a maximum of 1 cm.
[0017] The component can, for example, have exactly one connector. It can, for example, have a maximum of three, preferably a maximum of two, contact elements. The contact elements can, for example, be formed in or on the connector. This advantageously allows the component to be designed to be particularly simple, cost-effective, and small, and is coupled or connected to a movable, openable, or displaceable element (e.g., a housing cover) of the housing.
[0018] The connector can, for example, have one or more contact elements in the form of contact blades, pins, or similar (male contact elements). The mating connector can, for example, have one or more socket contact elements (female mating contact elements). In principle, it is also conceivable for the connector to have at least one female contact element and the mating connector to have at least one male mating contact element. The connector can, for example, also be designed as a short-circuit bridge, which, when plugged into or mated together with a mating connector, electrically connects several mating contact elements of the mating connector. In this way, for example, a signal circuit can be closed.
[0019] The connection between the connector and the mating connector can be made, for example, along a plug-in direction.
[0020] The high-voltage system can be designed for high voltages or operated at high voltages of, for example, at least 40V, more than 60V, more than 100V, more than 200V or more than 300V.
[0021] In this application, the term “comprising” is used synonymously with the term “comprising” unless otherwise specified.
[0022] The fact that the connector is arranged movably on or in the component has the advantage that problem-free, damage-free assembly on the mating connector is possible, even if manufacturing tolerances occur, for example, within the high-voltage system or within the component, or if the relative positions of the connector and mating connector change, for example due to temperature fluctuations.
[0023] For example, it can be provided that the connector can move relative to the pressure compensation element or component by up to 2 mm in the lateral direction and / or by up to 2 mm along the insertion direction. For example, the connector can have a reversibly elastic element, e.g., made of rubber, or be mounted on or at a reversibly elastic element. Depending on the design, larger ranges of movement may also be possible.
[0024] The fact that the connector is a high-voltage interlock connector designed to be mated with a high-voltage interlock mating connector of the high-voltage system advantageously ensures that, for example, a signal circuit of the high-voltage system is only closed when the connector is electrically connected to the mating connector. This advantageously ensures that the high-voltage supply of the high-voltage system is interrupted when the signal circuit is not closed, and there is no danger to people when touching potentially live parts.
[0025] The high-voltage interlock connector or the high-voltage system can be configured to release a high-voltage circuit of the high-voltage system when the high-voltage interlock connector and the high-voltage interlock mating connector are mated together (which allows high voltage to be applied to the high-voltage circuit).
[0026] For example, a high-voltage interlock connector may have two or more contact elements that are shorted together. The voltage in the signal circuit may be low, e.g., less than 60V or less than 40V, or less than or equal to 12V or less than or equal to 5V.
[0027] The fact that the component is designed to be mounted in the housing wall of a high-voltage system housing or on a high-voltage system housing makes installation particularly easy. This also ensures that both functions (pressure equalization and touch protection) are seamlessly maintained. The closed housing generally provides sufficient touch protection. If it is opened, thereby breaking the electrical connection between the connector and the mating connector, the high-voltage supply is interrupted, and the normally live parts can be touched safely.
[0028] Advantageously, the component can be detachably mounted in the housing wall of the high-voltage system or on the housing of the high-voltage system. The term "detachable" means that the component can be removed again without causing damage. This advantageously enables easy replacement of the component, for example, during maintenance.
[0029] As described above, the component is not to be understood as a complete sub-element of the housing (e.g., the complete housing cover or a complete housing base). Rather, it is designed to be mounted in or on such an element.
[0030] In a further development, the component comprises at least one fastening element for fastening in the housing wall or on the housing of the high-voltage system, wherein the fastening element is selected in particular from the group: locking hook, clip, undercut, bayonet lock, screw thread. This advantageously enables a particularly simple and cost-effective fastening of the component to the high-voltage system or, in particular, to a movable or openable part of the housing. Particularly advantageously, the fastening element enables a non-destructive detachment of the component from the high-voltage system, e.g., during maintenance.
[0031] Because the pressure compensation element has a gas-permeable membrane, the interior of the housing is advantageously protected from the penetration of dirt, grime and liquid (e.g. splash water) from the outside environment of the housing.
[0032] The membrane can be arranged on or in the channel, for example.
[0033] The membrane can be made of a plastic, for example. It can have a thickness of less than 1 mm, preferably less than 100 µm.
[0034] In a further development, the connector at least partially overlaps the pressure compensation element when viewed along the plug-in direction. This advantageously makes it possible to provide a component that is particularly compact in terms of width or in a direction radial to the plug-in direction (lateral direction).
[0035] In other words, the pressure compensation element and connector are arranged one above the other.
[0036] It is understood that a slight radial offset between the DAE and the connector is possible, so that there is no complete overlap (e.g. the connector is not completely within a projection surface of the DAE along the plug-in direction).
[0037] However, it can also be provided, for example, that the DAE and connector are aligned - viewed along the plug-in direction.
[0038] In a further development, the connector is spaced apart from the pressure compensation element along a radial direction perpendicular to the plug-in direction. This advantageously enables a particularly compact and flat design of the component along the plug-in direction.
[0039] In other words, DAE and connectors are arranged side by side, they do not overlap.
[0040] Another advantage is that an optimal location for the DAE and an optimal location for the placement of the mating connector can be realized simultaneously in the high-voltage system, and yet both functionalities (pressure equalization and contact protection) can be realized in a single component.
[0041] It is understood that an offset between the DAE and the connector along the mating direction is possible. This can be caused, for example, by the position of the mating connector in the housing.
[0042] The fact that the component is designed in one piece advantageously enables a particularly simple and cost-effective construction and a particularly simple production of the component.
[0043] The term "integral" here means that the component can be handled as a single element. In particular, it can connect all sub-elements (DAE and connectors) integrally. It may be intended that the component cannot be disassembled into its individual parts (DAE, connectors) without causing damage.
[0044] The fact that the component is manufactured as an injection-molded part makes it particularly simple and cost-effective to manufacture the component.
[0045] The component may be made of, for example, a plastic material, particularly to a predominant extent (more than 50%).
[0046] Metal parts intended as contact elements in the component and / or a membrane made of plastic or metal that was initially provided separately can be overmolded during the injection molding process during component production. They can initially be provided as separate inserts.
[0047] According to the invention, a high-voltage system is proposed.
[0048] The high-voltage system comprises a housing and an electrical mating connector, as well as a component as described above. The component is mounted in a housing wall of the housing or on the housing.
[0049] This advantageously enables particularly simple assembly of the high-voltage system with few parts and at the same time the component provides two functions, namely pressure equalization and contact safety for the high-voltage system.
[0050] For example, it can be provided that, when the housing is closed, the connector is connected to the mating connector. This can advantageously close a signal circuit of the high-voltage system, which—when closed—releases the high-voltage supply (e.g., by means of a separate control unit or control element or an evaluation device).
[0051] It can be provided that, when the housing is closed, the channel of the pressure compensation element fluidically connects an interior of the housing with an exterior of the housing. This advantageously enables pressure equalization of the interior relative to the exterior.
[0052] The mating connector can be located inside the housing, for example. It can be directed toward the housing wall.
[0053] As described above, the component is not to be understood as a complete housing element (such as a complete housing cover or a complete housing base). Rather, the component is a relatively small element that can initially be handled and is present separately from the housing and is mounted on a housing part. In particular, the component can be mounted on an openable or movable housing element.
[0054] In a further development, it is provided that the high-voltage system has a high-voltage circuit, wherein the high-voltage system is configured such that the high-voltage circuit is set to a voltage-free state when the plug connector and the mating plug connector are not electrically connected to one another.
[0055] This advantageously ensures contact safety.
[0056] For example, it may be intended that the high-voltage circuit can carry voltage when the connector and the mating connector are electrically connected to each other.
[0057] In an advantageous further development, it can be provided that the high-voltage system is selected from the group: electric axle for an electrically driven vehicle, electric machine, inverter, fuel cell system, high-voltage connector arrangement, charger, DC-DC converter, electric heater, compressor, energy distributor, transformer, control unit.
[0058] This advantageously ensures pressure equalization and contact safety for the high-voltage systems mentioned above by a single component. Drawings
[0059] Further features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art from the following description of exemplary embodiments, which, however, are not to be construed as limiting the invention, with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0060] It shows Fig. 1a: a schematic cross-section of an embodiment of a high-voltage system with a component; Fig. 1b: a top view of the component from Fig. 1a; Fig. 2a: a schematic cross-section of another embodiment of a high-voltage system with a component; Fig. 2b: a top view of the component from Fig. 2a.
[0061] Fig. 1a shows a high-voltage system 100 with a housing 103, an electrical mating connector 101 and a component 1. The component 1 is mounted here in a housing wall 112 of the housing 103 or on the housing 103.
[0062] The housing 103 here has a housing base 107 and a housing cover 108 and is, for example, fluid-tight. The housing 103 encloses an interior space 104, which is separated from an external environment 105 of the housing 103 by the housing 103.
[0063] Component 1 comprises a pressure equalization element (DAE) 2 and an electrical connector 3. The pressure equalization element 2 has exactly one fluid-conducting channel 4 (multiple fluid-conducting channels 4 are also possible).
[0064] In the closed state of the housing 103 shown here, the channel 4 of the pressure equalization element 2 connects the interior 104 of the housing 103 with the external environment 105 in a fluid-conducting manner. This enables pressure equalization via the channel 4 in the event of pressure differences between the interior 104 and the external environment 105.
[0065] The DAE 2 has, here merely as an example, a gas-permeable membrane 7. This membrane 7 is arranged—merely as an example—in the channel 4. It extends completely through the channel cross-section. Thus, a gas flow that wants to reach from the interior 104 to the external environment 105 must necessarily pass through the membrane 7 (see the flow arrows), or conversely, a gas flow that wants to reach from the external environment 105 into the interior 104 must necessarily pass through the membrane 7. The membrane 7 can advantageously protect the interior 104, for example, against dirt, grime, splash water, etc. from the external environment 105.
[0066] In the closed state of the housing 103 shown here (the housing cover 108 is mounted on the housing base 107), the connector 3 is connected to the mating connector 101 of the high-voltage system 100 along a plug-in direction Z. The connector 3 has two contact elements 8, which are designed, for example, as contact blades or pins. The two contact elements 8 are electrically connected to one another by a short-circuit bridge 9 of the connector 3 and thus short-circuited. The connector 3 or the contact elements 8 face the interior 104 of the housing 103.
[0067] The plug-in direction Z, which corresponds to a plug-in direction or mating direction of the connector 3 into or with the mating connector 101, has in Fig. 1a downwards. A radial direction R extends perpendicular to the insertion direction Z.
[0068] The high-voltage system 100 can be, merely by way of example, an electric axle for an electrically powered vehicle or an electric machine or an inverter or a fuel cell system or a high-voltage connector arrangement (e.g., consisting of a high-voltage connector and a high-voltage mating connector) or a charger or a DC-DC converter or an electric heater or a compressor or a power distributor or a transformer or a control unit, etc.
[0069] In the interior 104, a high-voltage component 110 is connected to a high-voltage circuit 106. In the illustrated embodiment, the high-voltage component can be, for example, a stator of a three-phase electrical machine, which is electrically connected to three phase lines 109a, 109b, 109c. It can be operated, for example, with a voltage of at least 40V, preferably at least 100V, and particularly preferably at least 300V.
[0070] The mating connector 102 is arranged here, for example, on the high-voltage component 110 and faces the housing cover 108. Here, it has, for example, two mating contact elements 110 designed as socket contact elements. The mating connector 102 can, for example, be part of a signal circuit. As long as the two mating contact elements 110 are not short-circuited, this signal circuit is not closed and therefore no current flows. This is the case, for example, if the housing cover 108 is not (correctly) mounted on the housing base 107 and there is therefore a risk that a person could come into contact with high-voltage parts of the high-voltage system 100. An evaluation unit (not shown here) can, for example, detect whether the signal circuit is interrupted and, in this case, interrupt the high-voltage supply. However, if the housing cover 108 is correctly mounted - as shown here - (i.e., the housing 103 is closed), the connector 3 is connected to the mating connector 101. In the exemplary embodiment shown here, one of the contact elements 8 is plugged into one of the mating contact elements 111. This closes, for example, the signal circuit and the evaluation unit can enable the high-voltage circuit 106, i.e., high voltage can be applied.
[0071] In other words, the high-voltage system 100 has a high-voltage circuit 106, wherein the high-voltage system 100 is configured such that the high-voltage circuit 106 is set to a voltage-free state when the plug connector 3 and the mating connector 101 are not electrically connected to one another. However, (high) voltage may be present at the high-voltage circuit 106 or it may carry voltage when the plug connector 3 and the mating connector 101 are electrically connected to one another.
[0072] In the exemplary embodiment shown here, the connector 3 is designed as a high-voltage interlock connector 5, and the mating connector 101 is designed as a high-voltage interlock mating connector 102. The high-voltage interlock connector 5 is mated to a high-voltage interlock mating connector 102 of the high-voltage system 100. The high-voltage interlock connector is thus electrically connected.
[0073] Component 1 is mounted here, for example, in a housing wall 112 of the housing 103 (here the housing cover 108). For this purpose, a recess 11 is provided in the housing wall 112, into which recess the component 1 can be inserted, plugged in, or generally mounted. Detachable mounting is particularly advantageous, so that component 1 can be detached from the housing 103 without damage. Furthermore, component 1 can advantageously be mounted in a fluid-tight manner on the housing 103 or in the housing wall 112. This means that there is no leakage path between component 1 and the recess 11. For this purpose, a sealing element, e.g. a sealing cord or an O-ring, etc. can be provided between component 1 and the housing 103 or the recess 11.
[0074] Component 1 here has fastening elements 6 designed, for example, as locking hooks 10 or clips for fastening in the housing wall 112 or on the housing 103 of the high-voltage system 100. These locking hooks 10 (two of which are shown here) engage behind an edge of the recess 11. The locking connection can be released without causing damage to replace component 1.
[0075] It is understood that the fastening element 6 can alternatively or additionally be designed as an undercut (e.g. for a housing-side locking hook or clip), as a bayonet lock, as a screw thread, etc.
[0076] Component 1 is shown here as a single piece. Component 1 cannot be disassembled into its individual components (DAE 2 and connector 3) without causing damage. All elements of component 1 are integrally connected to one another.
[0077] Component 1 is manufactured as an injection-molded part. It is predominantly made of plastic.
[0078] In the embodiment according to Fig. 1a, the connector 3 is designed to be spaced apart from the pressure compensation element 2 along the radial direction R.
[0079] In other words: in the embodiment of the Fig. 1a, the DAE 2 and the connector 3 are arranged side by side. The connector 3 can be connected or formed directly on or with the DAE 2. However, as shown here, a carrier 12 can also be provided, on which the DAE 2 and the connector 3 are arranged together. While the DAE 2 and the connector 3 are spaced apart, they are not far apart. For example, the radial distance between the DAE 2 and the connector 3 is a maximum of five times the diameter of the DAE 2, preferably a maximum of three times the diameter of the DAE 2, or a maximum of 10 cm, preferably a maximum of 5 cm, and most preferably a maximum of 1 cm.
[0080] The connector 3 can, for example, be movably mounted or arranged on or in the component 1. In this way, it can always be plugged together or remain connected to the mating connector 101 securely and without damage, even in the event of temperature fluctuations and / or manufacturing tolerances. The connector 3 can, for example, be mounted at the connection point to the carrier 12 on an elastic intermediate element (not shown here). It can also be mounted to the carrier 12 by means of a slotted guide or a joint. It can also be inherently elastic or designed with an elastic material or have an elastic intermediate element.
[0081] By arranging the DAE 2 and the connector 3 next to each other, a particularly flat component 1 can be realized, viewed along the insertion direction Z, which requires only a low installation height. Furthermore, the spatial conditions of the housing 103 and the arrangement of the high-voltage component 110 in the housing 103 can be taken into account: the pressure equalization function can thus be spatially decoupled to a certain extent in the lateral or radial direction R from the contact protection function, without sacrificing the modular character of component 1 (handling only a single part).
[0082] Fig. 1b shows a top view of component 1 from Fig. 1a. It is clearly visible that the component is inserted or plugged into the housing wall 112.
[0083] Fig. 2a shows a schematic cross section of another embodiment of a high-voltage system 100 with a component 1.
[0084] In the embodiment according to Fig. 2a, the connector 3 overlaps with the pressure compensation element 2 when viewed along the plugging direction Z. Here, the DAE 2 and connector 3 are even aligned.
[0085] In other words: in the embodiment of the Fig. 2a, the DAE 2 and the connector 3 are arranged one above the other or one behind the other. The connector 3 can be connected or formed directly on or with the DAE 2 - as shown here. However, a carrier can also be provided on which the DAE 2 and the connector 3 are arranged together.
[0086] This provides a component 1 that is particularly compact with respect to the radial direction R.
[0087] In this embodiment, the connector 3 can also be movably arranged on or in the component 1. For example, the connector 3 can be coupled or connected to the DAE 2 by a joint or an elastic intermediate piece.
[0088] The high-voltage component 110 is here only connected to two phase lines 109a, 109b.
[0089] Fig. 2b shows a top view of the component from Fig. 2a. Here the particularly small footprint or the small dimension along the radial direction R becomes apparent.
