Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a kit for a frame, and in particular to a kit for a frame of an (insect) screen. Typically, an (insect, pollen, and / or sun) screen is attached to such a screen frame, spanning the opening defined by the frame. The screen can then be mounted on a frame (in particular a window or door frame) of a building opening (in particular a window or door).
[0002] EP 3 835 539 A1, for example, discloses a kit for a frame of an insect screen, the kit comprising four frame assemblies, each frame assembly having an inner profile strip and an outer profile strip that are connected to one another via a corner connector comprising a pivot axis. In the delivered state, the inner profile strips and the outer profile strips of the four frame assemblies are each aligned parallel to one another. The end user must unfold the frame assemblies delivered in this way around the pivot axis of the corner connector so that the inner profile strip and the outer profile strip are arranged at a 90° angle to one another. The end user must then align the profile strips of the frame groups with one another and push them into one another to form the frame, the inner profile strip of one frame assembly being telescopic relative to the outer profile strip of an adjacent frame assembly. This allows the frame to be easily adapted to windows of different sizes. A frame consisting of four frame assemblies is also known from US Pat. No. 4,279,288 A. Although such kits significantly simplify assembly for the end user, the presence of four frame assemblies still requires a large number of frame assemblies.
[0003] EP 3 835 539 A1 also discloses a kit consisting of exactly two frame assemblies, each of which can be placed in a right-angled position for assembly. However, these frame assemblies feature a plug-in connection at the free ends in the area of the corner connectors. Therefore, different corner connector components are required at the free ends of these frame assemblies than those required to form a pivot joint within a frame assembly. Providing such a kit with exactly two frame assemblies therefore requires a larger number of different components.
[0004] EP 3 690 177 A1 and EP 3 910 155 A1 each disclose a solution for protecting a hinged corner connector in its unfolded position against accidental folding back. Thus, EP 3 690 177 A1 provides a separate fixing element that can be inserted into both connecting legs of a corner connector in the unfolded assembly position. EP 3 910 155 A1 proposes that the corner connector have a clamping design onto which an attachment device can be clipped. However, there is also the desire for the fixing element, which can be designed as a suspension element according to EP 3 690 177 A1, to be secured against accidental release.
[0005] In addition, it is common practice for such frames to have a seal, such as a brush seal, applied all the way around the frame, thus sealing the frame against a window frame. Here, too, it is desirable for the seal to be better secured against accidental loosening.
[0006] The object of the present invention is therefore to eliminate the disadvantages described with reference to the prior art and, in particular, to provide a kit which is even easier for an end user to assemble and, furthermore, to provide profile connectors in which the components mounted on the profile connector are secured against unintentional loosening.
[0007] A solution to the problem is provided by a kit having the features of claim 1 and by profile connectors having the respective features of claims 10 and 12. Other solutions and advantageous developments of the kit and the profile connectors are specified in the dependent claims and in the description, wherein individual features of the description and the dependent claims can be combined with one another in a technically expedient manner.
[0008] The problem is solved in particular by a kit for a frame and in particular by a kit for a frame of an insect protection device. The kit comprises precisely two frame assemblies, namely a first pre-assembled frame assembly and a second pre-assembled frame assembly. Each of the two frame assemblies comprises a first free profile strip, a second free profile strip and a connecting device which has at least one further profile strip. The first free profile strip is connected to the connecting device at a first end of the connecting device via a first pivot joint having a pivot axis. The second free profile strip is connected to the connecting device at a second end of the connecting device via a second pivot joint having a pivot axis. The two pivot joints of each frame assembly are designed such that, in an initial position, the two free profile strips and the connecting device are aligned parallel to one another. By pivoting the free profile strips relative to the connecting device about the respective pivot axis, they can be transferred into an assembly position in which the frame assembly is U-shaped. In the assembly position, in which the two frame assemblies are U-shaped, the free profile strips of the first frame assembly and the free profile strips of the second frame assembly can be telescopically inserted into one another.
[0009] In other words: The basic concept of the invention is that only exactly two modules (first pre-assembled frame assembly and second pre-assembled frame assembly) are provided to the end user for assembling the frame. The end user can bring these modules into a U-shaped position by unfolding the free profile strips, in which the free profile strips of the two modules can be pushed into one another. The essentially parallel alignment of the free profile strip to the connecting device in the initial position ensures, on the one hand, that the kit can be provided to the end user in a compact form in a container (packaging), while on the other hand, the end user has less assembly effort. To the extent that the free profile strips in the assembly position are arranged essentially in a plane defined jointly with the connecting device, it may well be that in the initial position the free profile strips are arranged orthogonally to the plane, offset from one another and directly next to one another, which is still understood as parallel.
[0010] In principle, it would be conceivable for the at least one axis of rotation to be aligned in the plane spanned by the frame and approximately at a 45° angle to the direction of extension of the free profile strip. However, it is preferred that the axes of rotation of the pivot joints of both frame assemblies are aligned parallel to one another (when the frame is assembled) and orthogonal to a plane spanned by the frame. In this embodiment, the free profile strips are arranged in the plane defined by the free profile strips and the connecting device in the assembly position, even during transfer from the starting position to the assembly position. In the latter embodiment, a particularly stable connection of the free profile strips to the connecting device in the assembly position is possible.
[0011] In a preferred embodiment, the (free) profile strips are designed as inner profile strips or as outer profile strips, wherein in the assembled position, the inner profile strip of one frame assembly can be inserted into the outer profile strip of the other frame assembly. For example, it would be possible for the free profile strips of the first frame assembly to be designed as inner profile strips and the free profile strips of the second frame assemblies to be designed as outer profile strips. However, it can also be provided that the two frame assemblies each have an outer profile strip and an inner profile strip as free profile strips.
[0012] In the simplest case, the profile strips can be designed as nestable tubes (with a circular or rectangular cross-section). However, it is preferred that the profile strips have at least one contour extending along their longitudinal extent, which allows the attachment of a seal and / or a protective grille. In particular, a groove extending in the direction of the longitudinal extent of the profile strip can be provided for receiving a (brush) seal. In addition, a contour projection or recess can be provided, which extends along the longitudinal extent of the profile strip, to which an (insect) protective grille can be attached, if necessary using additional components (such as a fixing strip).
[0013] The outer contour of the inner profile strip is matched to the inner contour of the outer profile strip so that they can be telescopically pushed into each other.
[0014] Preferably, the free profile strips of the frame assembly are arranged substantially parallel but offset to one another and to the connecting device in the initial position. Thus, the free profile strips of a frame assembly can be offset from one another orthogonally to the plane and arranged on the same side of the connecting device. Although the free profile strips are arranged in one plane in the assembly position, they can be arranged directly next to one another (orthogonally to the plane) in the initial position by means of slight bracing.
[0015] In principle, it is possible for the connecting device to be fixed in length. In this case, the frame could only be adjustable in size in one direction. However, it is preferred that the connecting device of a frame assembly comprises at least one inner profile strip and at least one outer profile strip. Thus, the frame is adjustable in size in its plane in two mutually orthogonal directions.
[0016] In principle, it is possible for the swivel joint having the rotation axis to be formed integrally with a profile strip. However, it is preferred for the swivel joint to be formed by an independent component, namely a profile connector. In this case, the first profile strip and the second profile strip are each connected to the connecting device via a profile connector forming the swivel joint. In this context, it can be provided that a first connecting leg of a profile connector is inserted into a free profile strip and a second connecting leg of the profile connector, which can be pivoted about the rotation axis relative to the first connecting leg, is inserted into a profile strip of the connecting device. The design of specific profile connectors, which are also intended as corner connectors for connecting exactly two profile strips, is described further below.
[0017] It can also be provided that the two frame assemblies are each secured in their assembled position by a fixing device. For example, the frame assemblies can have locking mechanisms in the area of the swivel joint that interlock in the assembled position, thus preventing accidental pivoting back. Alternatively or additionally, the fixing can be realized by a separate fixing element that secures the swivel joint in its unfolded position against unintentional pivoting back.
[0018] Since the present invention is aimed at providing a compact kit while simultaneously simplifying assembly, it is proposed that the kit include a package (e.g., a box) in which the two frame assemblies are arranged in their initial position. Of course, other components of the kit, such as fixing elements, suspension elements, and / or insect screens, can be arranged in the package.
[0019] The invention also relates to a profile connector for a frame and in particular for a frame assembly of the previously described kit. The profile connector comprises at least one first connecting leg, which can in particular be inserted into a profile strip, and a second connecting leg, which can in particular be inserted into a profile strip. The profile connector also comprises a pivot joint having at least one axis of rotation between the first connecting leg and the second connecting leg, which is designed such that the first connecting leg and the second connecting leg can be transferred from an initial position by a relative pivoting movement about the at least one axis of rotation into an assembly position in which the first connecting leg and the second connecting leg are arranged in a plane at a right angle to one another.
[0020] An aspect relating to the first profile connector provides that the profile connector comprises a functional element designed as a suspension element, wherein at least the first connecting leg has a receptacle for the functional element and the receptacle is arranged such that the functional element can be inserted into the receptacle in the starting position and that the functional element inserted into the receptacle is secured against removal from the receptacle in the assembly position by the second connecting leg.
[0021] A further aspect relating to the profile connector provides that at least one connecting leg has a terminal receptacle for receiving one end of a seal, wherein the terminal receptacle extends into the plane, wherein the at least one connecting leg has a receiving groove for the seal, wherein the receiving groove runs parallel to the plane, and wherein the terminal receptacle adjoins the receiving groove and wherein the terminal receptacle is designed such that one end of the seal can be inserted into the terminal receptacle, wherein the end of the seal, when inserted into the terminal receptacle, is aligned approximately at a right angle to the section of the seal arranged outside the terminal receptacle.
[0022] Both aspects concerning the profile connector provide that an additional component (functional element or seal) is secured against unintentional loosening by the fact that the connecting legs can be pivoted towards each other and the additional component is secured in the assembly position.
[0023] The profile connector comprises, in particular, a connecting leg that can be at least partially inserted into a previously described profile strip, in particular in a force-fitting manner. The outer profile of the section of the connecting leg that can be inserted into the profile strip is thus adapted to the inner profile of the corresponding profile strip.
[0024] In particular, in the part protruding beyond the profile strip, the profile connector has at least one axis of rotation for forming the pivot joint. If the movement of the connecting legs from the initial position to the assembly position occurs in the plane defined by the assembly position, preferably exactly one axis of rotation is formed.
[0025] If the profile connector has exactly two connecting legs that can be brought into a right angle to each other, it is also referred to as a corner connector. However, the profile connector can also have three connecting legs, in which case each connecting leg is arranged at a right angle to at least one other connecting leg in the installed position. Such a profile connector can be used, for example, to form a frame for an insect screen door.
[0026] In the area that cannot be inserted into a profile strip, the at least one connecting leg has in particular a receiving groove for a seal, which in the assembled state (i.e. in a state inserted into a profile strip) adjoins a corresponding groove formed in the profile strip, so that the seal can be guided continuously from the profile strip into the profile connector.
[0027] The end receptacle can be formed on a side of a connecting leg that is to be regarded as the end face, at least in the initial position, and preferably adjoins the receiving groove. The end receptacle is thus designed such that one end of the seal can be inserted into the end receptacle, wherein the end of the seal, when inserted into the end receptacle, is aligned approximately at a right angle to the section of the seal arranged outside the end receptacle. The end receptacle therefore has an opening, in particular on the surface of the connecting leg facing the window frame in the installed state, through which opening the end of the seal can be inserted into the end receptacle. The end receptacle is arranged in particular on the associated connecting leg in such a way that the end receptacle is accessible from the corresponding end face in the initial position and is covered by the other connecting leg in the assembled position, wherein the other connecting leg in particular can have a locking element with which the end of the seal is fixed in the end receptacle in the assembled position. The end receptacle therefore has, in particular, in addition to the opening already mentioned, a front-side opening through which a locking element of the other connecting leg (for example a projection on the other connecting leg) extends in the assembled position. The end receptacle can thus be designed as a type of groove in the end face of the connecting leg.
[0028] Similarly, the receptacle for the functional element is arranged so that the functional element can be inserted into the receptacle in the initial position. For this purpose, the receptacle is formed in the initial position on an accessible end face of the connecting leg, which end face is concealed by the other connecting leg in the assembly position. Thus, the functional element, which is inserted into the receptacle in the initial position, is secured by the other connecting leg in the assembly position.
[0029] The functional element can, for example, be designed as a suspension element, which preferably has an insertion section that can be inserted into the receptacle, a connecting section arranged at right angles thereto and an overlapping section that engages behind the window frame (in the position of the frame installed on the window), which overlapping section is formed at right angles to the connecting section and parallel to the insertion section.
[0030] The profile connector can be designed in such a way that the functional element is still movable even in the assembly position by allowing the functional element to be moved back and forth in the holder.
[0031] It is also preferred that a receptacle be formed in each connecting leg. The end user can thus decide which connecting leg the functional element should be inserted into, depending on the desired orientation of the frame in its installed position.
[0032] The invention and the technical environment are explained below using the figures as examples. They show schematically Fig. 1: two frame assemblies in their assembly position, Fig. 2: the two frame assemblies in a nested state, Fig. 3: a profile connector designed as a corner connector in a first position with a functional element, Fig. 4: the corner connector with the functional element inserted into a connecting leg of the corner connector and Fig. 5: the corner connector with inserted functional element in the assembly position.
[0033] The one in the Fig. 1 and Fig. The kit 3 for a frame shown in Figure 2 comprises a first frame assembly 1 and a second frame assembly 2. The first frame assembly 1 comprises a first free profile strip 1.1, a second free profile strip 1.2 and a connecting device 1.3 formed from two profile strips 1.3a and 1.3b.
[0034] The second frame assembly 2 comprises a first free profile strip 2.1, a second free profile strip 2.2, and a connecting device 2.3 formed from two profile strips 2.3a and 2.3b.
[0035] The first free profile strips 1.1 and 2.1 are each connected to the connecting device 1.3, 2.3 via a first pivot joint 4.1 having a pivot axis 4.1a. The second profile strips 1.2 and 2.2 are each connected to the respective connecting device 1.3, 2.3 via a second pivot joint 4.2 having a pivot axis 4.2a.
[0036] In the Fig. 1 shows frame assemblies 1 and 2 in their respective assembly positions. In this assembly position, frame assemblies 1 and 2 are essentially U-shaped.
[0037] From the Fig. 1, a frame can be easily produced as shown in Fig. 2. To do this, the free profile strips 1.1, 1.2, 2.1 and 2.2 of frame assemblies 1 and 2 simply need to be telescoped into one another.
[0038] In the Fig. In the state shown in Figure 2, the frame spans a plane. The rotation axes 4.1a and 4.2a are aligned orthogonally to this plane. Therefore, the free profile strips 1.1, 1.2, 2.1 and 2.2 can be removed from the Fig. 1, the frame assemblies can also be folded toward the connecting device 1.3 or 2.3, respectively, in which case all profile strips are aligned approximately parallel to one another. In this initial position, the frame assemblies 1, 2 can be easily and compactly stored in a single package.
[0039] In the Fig. 3 to 5, a profile connector 5 designed as a corner connector is shown, which is also used in the frame assemblies of the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 can be used. The profile connector 5 has a first connecting leg 5.1 and a second connecting leg 5.2, each of which can be inserted in sections into a profile strip. A pivot axis 4.1a is formed between the first connecting leg 5.1 and the second connecting leg 5.2, so that the connecting legs 5.1, 5.2 can be pivoted from an initial position, in which the connecting legs 5.1, 5.2 or the profile strips are aligned approximately parallel to one another, into an assembly position, in which the connecting legs 5.1, 5.2 or the profile strips are arranged at a right angle to one another. Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, the connecting legs 5.1 and 5.2 are in an intermediate position between the initial position and the assembly position.
[0040] In the Fig. 3 to 5, it can be seen that the second connecting leg 5.2 has a receiving groove 9 that adjoins a receiving groove in the profile strip. In addition, the second connecting leg 5.2 has a terminal receptacle 10 that merges into the receiving groove 9. The terminal receptacle 10 thus adjoins the receiving groove 9. It is now possible to insert a seal, starting from the receiving groove of the profile connector, into the receiving groove 9 of the connecting leg 5.2, whereby one end of the seal can be inserted into the terminal receptacle 10. In the installed state, the end of the seal arranged in the terminal receptacle 10 is angled towards the section of the seal arranged in the receiving groove 9. In the assembled position of the profile connector 5, the terminal receptacle 10 is not accessible because it is covered by the first connecting leg 5.1. Rather, the first connecting leg 5 encompasses1 a locking element 7 designed as a projection, which in the in . Fig. 5 engages in the end receptacle 10 and thus fixes the end of the seal in the end receptacle 10.
[0041] From the Fig. 3 to 5, it can also be seen that a functional element 6 designed as a suspension element can be inserted into a receptacle 8 in the first connecting leg 5.1 or into a receptacle 8 in the second connecting leg 5.2. The receptacle 8 is arranged at a front end of the connecting leg 5.1 or 5.2, so that the receptacles 8 are accessible in the initial position (or a slightly pivoted state) of the profile connector 5. In this state, the functional element 6 can be inserted into the receptacle 8 (see Fig. 3 and Fig. 4). Depending on the installation orientation of the frame, the end user can decide in which of the two receptacles 8 he wishes to mount the functional element 6.
[0042] In the Fig. In the assembly position shown in Fig. 5, in which the two connecting legs 5.1 and 5.2 are pivoted about the rotation axis 4.1a, the functional element 6 cannot be released from the profile connector 5, since the functional element 6 is prevented from being displaced out of the receptacle 8 by the first connecting leg 5.1.
