Abstract

Bicycle pedal with a mechanism with retractable pins (8) in which the pins (8) automatically disappear under a protective cap without pressure on the bicycle pedal, wherein the pedal comprises two nested parts for the footrest (1+2) which are rotatably movable about a central axis of rotation (5) in a center and thereby perform a shearing movement towards each other.

Description

The present invention relates to a bicycle pedal.A flat pedal is a bicycle pedal that is mostly used in sports biking (mountain bike). The flat pedal is equipped with pins. Pins are small, sharp screws that drill into special shoes with a special rubber sole and thus offer support.Due to the continued e-bike trend, there are more and more daily riders driving faster than accustomed or also sportier than usual riders. However, these bicycles are used for sports activities as well as for wings and daily journeys. The pins can lead to injuries in the event of contact, accidents or slipping off (during driving with incorrect footwear). This problem exists in e-bike drivers, but also in mountain bike drivers.A pedal change is complicated and also presupposes that a plurality of pedals are provided.Document DE 20 2018 002 481 U1 discloses a bicycle pedal with sprung plates from which the pins emerge in use. Document DE 602 06 067 T2 shows a bicycle pedal with a retractable binding for a bicycle shoe. The object of the invention is to provide a bicycle pedal of simple and robust design with extendable pins. This object is achieved by a bicycle pedal having the features according to claim 1.Advantageous embodiments of the invention can be found in the subject matter of the dependent claims. The invention achieves the object of having a pedal which can be used for different purposes. Switching the pins "on and off" replaces the complicated replacement of a pedal. The invention achieves the effect that a pedal is provided in which the pins automatically disappear under a protective cap without pressure on the pedals. Thus, injuries are avoided. The invention achieves that one uses a system that remains permanently movable. An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to FIG. 1, FIG. 2 and. The following are shown: 1 foot rest 1 2 foot rest 2 3 torsion spring 4 sleeve 5 axle 6 screw pins locking on the outside 7 screw pins locking on the inside 8 pin 9 thread for mounting pin 10 opening for passing pin 11 notch for screw 12 protruding surface for lockingThe pedal with retractable and extendable pins (8) consists of two parts for foot rest (1+2) inserted into one another, which move about an axis of rotation (5) in the center. Each individual part has holes (10) on the end faces and on the central cross braces for the passage of the pins (8) coming from below and holes (9) for the insertion of pins. The inner part of the pedal also has two lateral holes (on either side) for the insertion of a screw to block the mechanism (6+7). The outer part of the pedal has at the same location a notch for blocking the screw (11) at the highest point of the pedal. In addition, the outer pedal has a protruding surface adjacent to it for locking (12) the mechanism.Inside the pedal is a sleeve through which the axle is guided. A torsion spring (3) is seated on this sleeve (4).Operating description: When the pedal is not in use (pedal open position, FIG. 1 ), the torsion spring ( 3) is slightly prestressed and the screw ( 6) on the outer side of the inner part of the pedal abuts against the upper surface of the notch ( 11) of the outer part of the pedal. The torsion spring abuts against the transverse strut under one of the parts inserted into one another and clamps the latter to one another. In this position, all the pins in the pedal are hidden. To lock this position / to detect it, the screw (7) is used for detection.By using and pressing the pedal of the pedal, the inner and outer parts are pressed downward and the torsion spring is tensioned. The movement of the individual parts takes place rotatively about a central axis of rotation. The two parts execute a shearing movement with respect to one another. When the pedal is fully depressed, the cross-braces of the outer part of the pedal strike the inner part. (FIG. 2 ) This ensures that the pedal has a slightly concave shape at all times for increased driving comfort and improved hold. In this position, all the pins of the pedal are protruding. In the pressed-in state, the mechanism can be locked by screwing out the lateral screws ( 6). As a result of the two lateral screws being unscrewed, they no longer lie in the notch of the outer part, but abut directly (12). As a result, no further rotational movement of the two parts of the pedal takes place and the pins remain completely exposed. The pedal returns to its initial position after the end of use-i.e. without pressure-(FIG. 1 ) by the tension of the spring.By radially guiding the foot rest (1+2) about the central axis of rotation (5), wedging of the foot rest with the pins can be prevented and a reliable movement into the starting point is provided. Due to the prescribed radial guides about the fixed axis of rotation in the center, the movement of the foot rest can be reproduced exactly with each movement. It follows from this that a collision with the pins or the collision with the pins, which would lead to the wedging of these, can be ruled out.

Claims

A bicycle pedal having a mechanism with retractable and extendable pins (8), wherein the pins (8) automatically disappear under a protective cap without pressure on the bicycle pedal, wherein the pedal comprises two parts for foot rest (1+2) inserted into each other, which are movable rotarily about a central axis of rotation (5) in a center and thereby execute a shearing movement relative to each other.Bicycle pedal according to claim 1, wherein the foot rest portions (1+2) have holes (10) on end faces and / or on middle cross-members, respectively, for passing through the pins (8) coming from below.Bicycle pedal according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the foot rest portions (1+2) each comprise holes (9) for inserting the pins (8).A bicycle pedal according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the mechanism is lockable with retractable and extendable pins (8).A bicycle pedal according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein an inner part of the pedal comprises two lateral holes for inserting a screw (6, 7) for blocking the mechanism with retractable and extendable pins (8).A bicycle pedal according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein inside the pedal there is a sleeve (4) through which the axle of the pedal is guided, and wherein a torsion spring (3) is seated on the sleeve (4).A bicycle pedal according to any preceding claim, wherein the bicycle pedal is configured such that, by use and pressure on the pedal, inner and outer parts are pressed downwardly and the torsion spring (3) is tensioned. The bicycle pedal according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the outer part of the bicycle pedal comprises cross members that abut the inner part upon full depression of the pedal. The bicycle pedal according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the bicycle pedal is configured such that, by the tension of the torsion spring (3), the pedal returns to its initial position again after the end of use, in which the pins (8) are located on the inside.
