Abstract

[0001] DE 10 2017 220 376 A1 discloses a cooling system for a motor vehicle, including an electrical energy storage device for powering the motor vehicle. Furthermore, DE 10 2019 132 688 A1 discloses a thermal management system for a motor vehicle.
[0002] The object of the present invention is to provide a temperature control device for a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle with such a temperature control device, so that a particularly advantageous temperature control, i.e. cooling and / or heating, can be realized.
[0003] This object is achieved according to the invention by a temperature control device having the features of patent claim 1 and by a motor vehicle having the features of patent claim 10. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
[0004] A first aspect of the invention relates to a temperature control device, also referred to or designed as a temperature system or temperature control device. The motor vehicle, whose interior, also referred to as a passenger cell or passenger compartment, is formed by a structure of the motor vehicle preferably designed as a self-supporting body of the motor vehicle, is also referred to as a vehicle and is preferably designed as a motor vehicle, in particular as a passenger car. The motor vehicle is preferably designed as an electric vehicle, in particular as a battery-electric vehicle (BEV), so that the motor vehicle can be driven, in particular purely electrically. It is also conceivable for the motor vehicle to be a hybrid vehicle. By means of the temperature control device, at least a partial area of the motor vehicle, in particular at least a partial area of the interior of the motor vehicle, can be temperature-controlled, i.e., cooled and / or heated. In order to be able to temper, in particular heat, at least a portion of the motor vehicle, i.e., at least a portion of the interior, the tempering device can be operated, for example, in heat pump mode and thus as a heat pump, which is also referred to as a heat pump. When reference is made above and below to heating the interior, this is to be understood, unless otherwise stated, as the previously described heating of at least a portion of the interior, so that it is conceivable that the interior as a whole can be heated. Heating the interior is also referred to as heating or heating the interior.
[0005] The temperature control device has a temperature control circuit through which a preferably liquid temperature control medium flows, which is also simply referred to as a temperature control circuit, circuit, or loop. The temperature control medium is preferably a liquid temperature control medium, i.e., a fluid. The temperature control medium can, for example, comprise at least water.
[0006] An ambient air cooler is arranged in the temperature control circuit. The ambient air cooler is a heat exchanger, also known as a heat exchanger, around which, for example, ambient air, i.e., air in the environment of the motor vehicle, flows, for example, during travel and especially during forward travel of the motor vehicle. In other words, when the motor vehicle is traveling, especially during forward travel, the ambient air cooler is or can be or will be flowed around by airflow, which is formed by air in the aforementioned environment of the motor vehicle. The ambient air cooler is capable of being permeated by the temperature control medium, allowing heat to be exchanged between the temperature control medium flowing through the ambient air cooler and the air flowing around the ambient air cooler, also referred to as ambient air, via the ambient air cooler. In particular, heat can be transferred from the temperature control medium to the ambient air via the ambient air cooler. This allows the temperature control medium to be cooled.
[0007] A drive machine for driving the motor vehicle is also arranged in the temperature control circuit. The temperature control medium can thus flow through the at least one drive machine, so that the at least one drive machine can be temperature-controlled, i.e. cooled or heated somewhere, by means of the temperature control medium. The at least one drive machine is also referred to as the first drive machine. When reference is made above and below to the drive machine or to the at least one drive machine, this refers to the first drive machine unless otherwise stated. The drive machine can, for example, be designed as an internal combustion engine, which is also referred to as an internal combustion engine or internal combustion engine. Furthermore, it is conceivable for the drive machine to be designed as an electric machine, by means of which the motor vehicle can be driven, in particular purely electrically. The electrical machine is preferably a high-voltage component whose electrical voltage, in particular electrical operating or nominal voltage, is preferably greater than 50 volts, in particular greater than 60 volts, and very preferably amounts to several hundred volts. For example, heat can be exchanged between the drive motor and the temperature control medium flowing through the drive motor, in particular in such a way that heat can optionally be transferred from the temperature control medium to the drive motor or heat from the drive motor to the temperature control medium, so that the drive motor is optionally heated or cooled. For example, if the temperature control medium has a higher temperature than the drive motor on its way through the drive motor, the temperature control medium is or functions as a heating medium by means of which the drive motor can be heated. For example, if the temperature control medium has a lower temperature than the drive motor on its way through the drive motor, heat can be transferred from the drive motor to the temperature control medium, thereby cooling the drive motor. The temperature control medium can preferably be part of the temperature control system.
[0008] Also arranged in the temperature control circuit is an electrical energy storage device, in or by means of which electrical energy, in particular electrochemically, is to be stored or is stored. Very preferably, the electrical energy storage device is a high-voltage component whose electrical voltage, in particular electrical operating and nominal voltage, is preferably greater than 50 volts, in particular greater than 60 volts, and very preferably amounts to several hundred volts. For example, the aforementioned electrical machine can be supplied with the electrical energy stored in the energy storage device, whereby the electrical machine can be operated in motor mode and thus with an electric motor. By means of the electric motor, the motor vehicle can be driven electrically, in particular purely electrically, for example. For example, the electrical energy storage device comprises several storage cells, also referred to simply as cells, which are electrically connected to one another, for example. The aforementioned electrical energy can be stored, particularly electrochemically, in the storage cells. The energy storage device is also referred to as a battery and, especially if the electrical energy storage device is a high-voltage component, is a high-voltage battery.
[0009] The temperature control circuit also includes a first heat exchanger, which is provided in particular in addition to the ambient air cooler and is also arranged in a refrigerant circuit through which a refrigerant flows, so that heat can be exchanged between the refrigerant and the temperature control medium via the first heat exchanger. The first heat exchanger is, for example, a chiller.
[0010] In particular, the refrigerant circuit is provided in addition to the temperature control circuit, and very particularly, the refrigerant circuit is fluidically separated from the temperature control circuit. Heat can be exchanged between the refrigerant and the temperature control medium via the first heat exchanger. In particular, the first heat exchanger is or functions, for example, as a cooler for the temperature control medium, or the first heat exchanger can be operated as a cooler for the temperature control medium, so that, for example, heat can be transferred from the temperature control medium to the refrigerant via the first heat exchanger. This allows the temperature control medium to be cooled and the refrigerant to be heated. It is conceivable that the refrigerant circuit and thus also the first heat exchanger are components of an air conditioning device of the motor vehicle, whose air conditioning device is also referred to as an air conditioning system. The air conditioning device is, for example, a compression refrigeration machine or can at least be operated as a compression refrigeration machine. Furthermore, it is conceivable that, alternatively or additionally, the air conditioning device can be operated as a heat pump. In particular, it is conceivable that the first heat exchanger for the refrigerant is a first evaporator or can be operated as a first evaporator, wherein the refrigerant can be evaporated by means of the first evaporator. By evaporating the refrigerant, the refrigerant can particularly advantageously absorb heat, in particular via the first heat exchanger, from or from the temperature control medium, whereby the temperature control medium, also referred to as the temperature control medium or temperature control fluid, can be advantageously cooled.
[0011] For example, a refrigerant heat exchanger may be arranged in the refrigerant circuit in addition to the first heat exchanger, which refrigerant heat exchanger may be arranged in particular downstream of the first heat exchanger in the coolant circuit.
[0012] In a first variant, for example, air can flow around and / or through the refrigerant heat exchanger, which can be introduced into the interior, i.e. at least into a partial area of the interior and is therefore also referred to as interior air, indoor air or cabin air. Via the refrigerant heat exchanger, for example, heat can be exchanged between the refrigerant and the cabin air, in particular in such a way that heat can be transferred from or to the cabin air via the refrigerant heat exchanger. As a result, the refrigerant is cooled and the cabin air is heated, wherein the interior, i.e. at least parts of the interior, is warmed and can also be heated by the cabin air being introduced into the interior.
[0013] In a second variant, the refrigerant heat exchanger can be arranged in an interior circuit, which is also referred to as an interior loop, internal circuit, or interior circuit. A preferably liquid fluid can flow through the interior circuit, which fluid can be the temperature control medium or a fluid different from the temperature control medium. In the second variant, heat can be exchanged between the fluid and the refrigerant via the refrigerant heat exchanger, in particular in such a way that heat from or out of the refrigerant can be transferred to the fluid via the refrigerant heat exchanger. As a result, the refrigerant is cooled and the fluid is heated. It is conceivable that an interior heat exchanger is arranged in the interior circuit, in particular in addition to the first heat exchanger and in addition to the refrigerant heat exchanger, which interior heat exchanger is also referred to as a heating heat exchanger or can be operated as a heating heat exchanger. The fluid can flow through the interior heat exchanger. Furthermore, the aforementioned cabin air, which can be introduced into the interior, can flow around and / or through the interior heat exchanger, for example. Heat can be exchanged between the fluid and the cabin air flowing through and / or around the interior heat exchanger via the interior heat exchanger, in particular such that heat can be transferred from the fluid to the cabin air via the interior heat exchanger. This cools the fluid and warms the cabin air. Since the cabin air can be introduced into the interior, or is introduced into the interior, the interior can thus be warmed, i.e., heated. In particular, for example, the refrigerant heat exchanger can be a condenser or can be operated as a condenser, wherein the refrigerant can be cooled and thereby condensed by means of the interior heat exchanger, in particular because heat can be or is transferred from the refrigerant to the cabin air or to the fluid via the refrigerant heat exchanger. It can be seen that in the first variant and the second variant, in particular in the aforementioned heat pump operation, the cabin air and thus the interior can be heated via the first heat exchanger and in particular also via the refrigerant heat exchanger, wherein the heat pump operation in particular is designed or provided for heating the interior.
[0014] Furthermore, a second heat exchanger is arranged in the temperature control circuit, which is also arranged in the refrigerant circuit and is provided in addition to the first heat exchanger, via which second heat exchanger heat can be exchanged between the refrigerant and the temperature control medium. In particular, if the aforementioned interior heat exchanger is provided, the second heat exchanger is also provided in addition to the interior heat exchanger. The second heat exchanger can be the aforementioned refrigerant heat exchanger or another heat exchanger provided in addition thereto. Heat can be exchanged between the refrigerant and the temperature control medium via the second heat exchanger, in particular in such a way that heat can be transferred from the refrigerant to the temperature control medium via the second heat exchanger. This allows the refrigerant to be cooled, so that the second heat exchanger for the refrigerant can be designed or operated as a cooler. In particular, the refrigerant can be cooled and thereby condensed by means of the second heat exchanger, so that the second heat exchanger can be designed or operated as a condenser.
[0015] The temperature control device has a temperature detection device which is designed to detect, i.e. measure, a first temperature of the temperature control medium upstream of the ambient air cooler, a second temperature of the temperature control medium upstream of the drive motor, a third temperature of the temperature control medium upstream of the energy storage device, a fourth temperature of an environment of the motor vehicle and a fifth temperature of the electrical energy storage device, wherein the fourth temperature is also referred to as the ambient temperature or outside temperature. For example, the fifth temperature is a temperature of at least or exactly one of the storage cells. Furthermore, it is conceivable that the fifth temperature represents a temperature of the storage cells, in particular all storage cells, of the electrical energy storage device. For example, the respective temperature detection device has a respective temperature sensor for detecting.
[0016] The temperature control device also has the electronic computing device, which is designed to selectively operate the temperature control device in a first heat pump operating mode or a second heat pump operating mode. As explained in more detail below, the electronic computing device is preferably designed to selectively operate the temperature control device in the first heat pump operating mode, the second heat pump operating mode, a third heat pump operating mode, a fourth heat pump operating mode, a fifth heat pump operating mode, or a sixth heat pump operating mode. The heat pump operating modes are different operating modes of heat pump operation, also referred to simply as modes, so that in the respective heat pump operating mode, the temperature control device can be or is operated as the aforementioned heat pump in order to warm, and thus heat, at least the partial area of the motor vehicle, in particular at least the partial area of the interior of the motor vehicle. As will be explained in more detail below, the respective heat pump operating mode also serves to temperature control, i.e., to cool and / or heat, the electrical energy storage device, whereby the electrical energy storage device can be kept in a particularly advantageous temperature range and / or at a particularly advantageous temperature, so that particularly efficient and effective operation of the electrical energy storage device and thus of the motor vehicle as a whole can be achieved.Because the valve device can be switched to the different switching states, whereby the different heat pump operating modes can be set, i.e. activated, at least the partial area of the motor vehicle and the electrical energy storage device provided in particular in addition to the partial area of the motor vehicle can be tempered particularly according to demand and thus effectively and efficiently. In particular, a respective one of the heat pump operating modes belongs, in particular precisely, to a respective one of the switching states of the valve device, so that by switching the valve device to the respective switching state, the respective heat pump operating mode belonging to the respective switching state can be set, i.e. activated, so that subsequently the tempering device is or can be operated in the activated heat pump operating mode.
[0017] A method for operating the temperature control device is also disclosed. In the method, the temperature control device is selectively operated in the first heat pump operating mode, the second heat pump operating mode, the third heat pump operating mode, the fourth heat pump operating mode, the fifth heat pump operating mode, or the sixth heat pump operating mode. This is explained in more detail below.
[0018] The electronic computing device is configured to operate the temperature control device in the first heat pump operating mode when the first temperature is greater than a predefined first threshold and the second temperature is greater than a predefined second threshold. In other words, in the method, the temperature control device is operated in the first heat pump operating mode when the first temperature is greater than the first threshold and the second temperature is greater than the second threshold. In the first heat pump operating mode, the ambient air cooler, the drive motor, and the first heat exchanger are connected in series with one another in terms of flow, while the temperature control medium does not flow through the energy storage device and the second heat exchanger. This means that in the method in the first heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the ambient air cooler, the drive machine and the first heat exchanger serially, i.e. one after the other, while the temperature control medium does not flow through the energy storage device and not through the second heat exchanger.
[0019] The electronic computing device is also designed to operate the temperature control device in the second heat pump operating mode when the second temperature is greater than the first threshold value and less than a third threshold value that is greater than the first threshold value and greater than the ambient temperature. This means that the third threshold value is greater than the first threshold value. In other words, in the method, the temperature control device is operated in the second heat pump operating mode when the second temperature is greater than the first threshold value and less than the third threshold value and greater than the ambient temperature. In the second heat pump operating mode, the drive motor and the first heat exchanger are connected in series with one another in terms of flow, and the temperature control medium does not flow through the ambient air cooler, the energy storage device, and the second heat exchanger. This means that in the method in the second heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the drive machine and the first heat exchanger serially, i.e. one after the other, while the temperature control medium does not flow through the ambient air cooler, the energy storage device and the second heat exchanger. For example, the temperature control device has a valve device arranged in the temperature control circuit, by means of which the ambient air cooler, the drive motor, the electrical energy storage device, the first heat exchanger, and the second heat exchanger can be fluidically interconnected, i.e., with regard to a flow of the temperature control medium through the ambient air cooler, the drive motor, the electrical energy storage device, the first heat exchanger, and the second heat exchanger, such that the temperature control device can be operated selectively in the first heat pump operating mode or in the second heat pump operating mode. For this purpose, the electronic computing device can, for example, control the valve device. The ambient air cooler, the drive motor, the electrical energy storage device, the first heat exchanger, and the second heat exchanger are also referred to as elements. Thus, by controlling the valve device, the elements can be interconnected with respect to a respective flow of the temperature control medium through the elements in such a way that the temperature control device can be operated selectively in the first heat pump operating mode or in the second heat pump operating mode. Thus, by interconnecting the elements, the valve device can selectively set the first heat pump operating mode or the second heat pump operating mode. This also applies accordingly to the third heat pump operating mode, the fourth heat pump operating mode, the fifth heat pump operating mode, and the sixth heat pump operating mode.
[0020] In order to be able to realize particularly advantageous temperature control, one embodiment provides that the electronic computing device is configured to operate the temperature control device in the third heat pump operating mode when the third temperature is greater than the fifth temperature and greater than the ambient temperature, and the fifth temperature is less than a predetermined, fourth threshold. In other words, in the method, the temperature control device is operated in the third heat pump operating mode when the third temperature is greater than the fifth temperature and greater than the ambient temperature, and when the fifth temperature is less than the fourth threshold. In the third heat pump operating mode, the drive motor, the energy storage device, and the first heat exchanger are fluidically connected to one another in series, particularly by means of the valve device, and in the third heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium does not flow through the ambient air cooler. This means that in the method, in the third heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows serially through the drive motor, the energy storage device, and the first heat exchanger, while the temperature control medium does not flow through the ambient air cooler.
[0021] In order to be able to realize particularly advantageous temperature control, one embodiment provides that the electronic computing device is designed to operate the temperature control device in the fourth heat pump operating mode when the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold value, the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold value and greater than the first threshold value, and the second temperature is greater than the second threshold value. In other words, in the method, the temperature control device is operated in the fourth heat pump operating mode when the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold value, the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold value and greater than the first threshold value, and the second temperature is greater than the second threshold value.
[0022] In the fourth heat pump operating mode, the ambient air cooler and the drive motor are fluidically connected in series with one another, in particular by means of the valve device, and are thus arranged in a first circuit through which the temperature control medium flows. In the fourth heat pump operating mode, the energy storage device and the first heat exchanger are fluidically connected in series with one another, in particular by means of the valve device, and are thus arranged in a second circuit through which the temperature control medium flows and is fluidically separated from the first circuit, while the temperature control medium does not flow through the second heat exchanger. This means that in the method in the fourth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows serially through the first circuit and thus the ambient air cooler and the drive machine, and the temperature control medium flows serially through the second circuit and thus serially through the energy storage device and the first heat exchanger, wherein the first circuit and the second circuit are fluidically separated from one another, and the temperature control medium does not flow through the second heat exchanger.
[0023] In order to be able to realize particularly advantageous temperature control, one embodiment provides that the electronic computing device is designed to operate the temperature control device in the fifth heat pump operating mode when the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold value, the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold value and greater than the first threshold value, and the second temperature is less than the second threshold value. In other words, in the method, the temperature control device is operated in the fifth heat pump operating mode when the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold value, the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold value and greater than the first threshold value, and the second temperature is less than the second threshold value.
[0024] In the fifth heat pump operating mode, the drive machine is arranged in a drive machine train through which the temperature control medium flows, and the energy storage device and the first heat exchanger are fluidically connected to one another, in particular by means of the valve device, and are thus arranged in an energy storage train through which the temperature control medium flows and which is fluidically separated from the drive machine train, and the temperature control medium does not flow through the ambient air cooler and the second heat exchanger. This means that in the method in the fifth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the drive machine train and thus through the drive machine, and the temperature control medium flows through the energy storage train and thus flows serially through the energy storage device and the first heat exchanger, wherein the drive machine train and the energy storage train are fluidically separated from one another. In the fifth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium does not flow through the ambient air cooler and not through the second heat exchanger.
[0025] In order to be able to realize particularly advantageous temperature control, one embodiment provides that the electronic computing device is configured to operate the temperature control device in the sixth heat pump operating mode when the second temperature is lower than the second threshold and the third temperature is lower than the third threshold and greater than the first threshold. In other words, in the method, the temperature control device is operated in the sixth heat pump operating mode when the second temperature is lower than the second threshold and the third temperature is lower than the third threshold and greater than the first threshold.
[0026] In the sixth heat pump operating mode, the drive machine is arranged in the drive machine line through which the temperature control medium flows, while the second heat exchanger is arranged in a first heat exchanger line through which the temperature control medium flows, and the temperature control medium does not flow through the ambient air cooler. In the sixth heat pump operating mode, the energy storage device and the first heat exchanger are arranged in a second heat exchanger line through which the temperature control medium flows and are connected in series with one another, wherein the second heat exchanger line is fluidically separated from the drive machine line and the first heat exchanger line. This means that in the method in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the drive machine train and thus the drive machine, while the temperature control medium flows, in particular in parallel, through the first heat exchanger train and thus the second heat exchanger, and the temperature control medium flows through the second heat exchanger train and thus through the first heat exchanger and through the energy storage device, in particular in series, while the temperature control medium does not flow through the ambient air cooler.
[0027] A second aspect of the invention relates to a motor vehicle, also referred to simply as a vehicle and preferably designed as a motor vehicle, in particular as a passenger car, which has a temperature control device according to the first aspect of the invention. Advantages and advantageous embodiments of the first aspect of the invention are to be regarded as advantages and advantageous embodiments of the second aspect of the invention, and vice versa.
[0028] For example, the temperature control circuit has a first branch through which the temperature control medium flows, in which the ambient air cooler is arranged. The temperature control medium can flow through the first branch and thus through the ambient air cooler, so that heat can be exchanged via the ambient air cooler between the temperature control medium flowing through the ambient air cooler and the air flowing around the ambient air cooler, also referred to as ambient air, in particular such that heat can be transferred from the temperature control medium to the ambient air via the ambient air cooler. This allows the temperature control medium to be cooled.
[0029] The temperature control circuit also has, for example, a second line in which the drive motor is arranged, by means of which the motor vehicle can be driven. The temperature control medium can thus flow through the second line and thus the at least one drive motor, so that the at least one drive motor can be temperature-controlled, i.e. cooled or heated, by means of the temperature control medium. For example, heat can be exchanged between the drive motor and the temperature control medium flowing through the second line and thus the drive motor, in particular in such a way that heat can optionally be transferred from the temperature control medium to the drive motor, or heat from the drive motor to the temperature control medium, so that the drive motor can be optionally heated or cooled. For example, if the temperature control medium has a higher temperature than the drive motor on its way through the second line, the temperature control medium is or functions as a heating medium, by means of which the drive motor can be heated. For example, if the temperature control medium has a lower temperature than the drive motor on its way through the second line, heat can be transferred from the drive motor to the temperature control medium, thereby cooling the drive motor. The temperature control medium is preferably a component of the temperature control device.
[0030] The temperature control circuit also has, for example, a third branch through which the temperature control medium flows, which third branch has a first branch and a second branch. The electrical energy storage device is arranged in the first branch. The second branch of the third branch is a bypass branch, which is also referred to as a bypass, bypass line or bypass line. The first branch and thus the electrical energy storage device can be bypassed by the temperature control medium via the bypass branch. This means that the temperature control medium flowing through the second branch bypasses the first branch and thus the electrical energy storage device, and therefore does not flow through the first branch and thus not through the electrical energy storage device.
[0031] The temperature control circuit further comprises, for example, a fourth branch through which the temperature control medium flows, in which the first heat exchanger, provided in particular in addition to the ambient air cooler, is arranged. The first heat exchanger is arranged in the fourth branch and thus in the temperature control circuit, and the first heat exchanger is also arranged in the refrigerant circuit through which a refrigerant flows.
[0032] The temperature control circuit also has, for example, a fifth branch through which the temperature control medium can flow, in which the second heat exchanger, provided in addition to the first heat exchanger, is arranged. The second heat exchanger is arranged in the fifth branch and thus in the temperature control circuit and also in the refrigerant circuit.
[0033] The strands of the temperature control circuit are, for example, respective lengths of the temperature control circuit through which the temperature control medium can flow, wherein, in particular, the aforementioned interior circuit is provided in addition to the strands of the temperature control circuit. In particular, in the second variant mentioned, the refrigerant heat exchanger can be arranged in the interior circuit, which is also referred to as the inner circuit, inner loop, or interior circuit, provided in particular in addition to the strands of the temperature control circuit.
[0034] The temperature control device has the temperature detection device, which is designed, for example, to detect, i.e., to measure, the first temperature of the temperature control medium in the first line upstream of the ambient air cooler. For example, a conveying device is arranged in the temperature control circuit, by means of which, for example, the temperature control medium can be conveyed through the temperature control circuit, in particular in a flow direction. Relative to the flow direction, i.e., relative to the temperature control medium flowing away from the conveying device and flowing towards the ambient air cooler, the first temperature of the temperature control medium is a temperature of the temperature control medium prevailing downstream of the conveying device and upstream of the temperature control medium in the ambient air cooler in the first line. The temperature detection device is also designed, for example, to detect, i.e., measure, the second temperature of the temperature control medium in the second line upstream of the drive motor and in particular downstream of the conveying device. The temperature detection device is also designed, for example, to detect, i.e., measure, the third temperature of the temperature control medium in the third line upstream of the first branch and upstream of the second branch, and in particular downstream of the conveying device. This means that the second temperature of the temperature control medium prevails, for example, in the fifth line upstream of the drive motor and in particular downstream of the conveying device, and the third temperature of the temperature control medium prevails, for example, in the third line upstream of the first branch, upstream of the second branch, and downstream of the conveying device. In particular, the aforementioned terms “upstream” and “downstream” refer to the said flow direction, i.e. to the temperature control medium flowing away from the conveying device and towards the ambient air cooler or the drive machine, or to the temperature control medium flowing through the third line.
[0035] The temperature detection device is, for example, also designed to detect, i.e., measure, the fourth temperature of the aforementioned environment of the motor vehicle. Furthermore, the temperature detection device is, for example, designed to detect the fifth temperature of the electrical energy storage device. Thus, for example, a first temperature sensor for detecting the first temperature is arranged in the first branch upstream of the ambient air cooler and in particular downstream of the conveying device. For example, a second temperature sensor for detecting the second temperature is arranged in the fifth branch upstream of the drive motor and very particularly downstream of the conveying device. Furthermore, for example, a third temperature sensor for detecting, i.e., measuring, the third temperature is arranged in the third branch upstream of the first branch and upstream of the second branch and very particularly downstream of the conveying device.A fourth temperature sensor is, for example, an ambient temperature sensor, by means of which the fourth temperature, i.e., the ambient temperature, can be detected. A fifth temperature sensor for detecting the fifth temperature is arranged, for example, in the electrical energy storage device.
[0036] The temperature control device also comprises the valve device, by means of which the strands of the temperature control circuit can be interconnected. For this purpose, for example, the valve device can be switched into different switching states, in particular by controlling the valve device, wherein in the switching states the strands are interconnected by means of the valve device. The switching states differ from one another, for example, in the interconnections of the strands. For example, the valve device can be controlled electrically or electronically. For example, the valve device has an electronic computing device, also referred to as a control unit, which can, for example, provide a control signal, in particular an electrical one. The valve device can, for example, receive the one control signal by which the valve device is controlled or can be controlled. Thus, the electronic computing device can control the valve device and thus switch between the switching states, i.e., toggle it back and forth. In particular, the valve device is electrically operable, so that, for example, the valve device can be switched between the switching states, i.e., toggle it back and forth, by supplying the valve device with electrical energy.
[0037] The electronic computing device is designed to operate the temperature control device in the first heat pump operating mode when the first temperature is greater than a predefined first threshold value and the second temperature is greater than a predefined second threshold value. In other words, in the method, the temperature control device is operated in the first heat pump operating mode when the first temperature is greater than the first threshold value and the second temperature is greater than the second threshold value. In the first heat pump operating mode, the strands of the temperature control circuit are interconnected by means of the valve device in such a way that the first strand, the second strand, and the fourth strand are connected in series with one another in terms of flow technology and thus form a first overall strand through which the temperature control medium flows. This means that in the first heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the first overall line, in particular because the temperature control medium is conveyed through the first overall line by means of the conveying device. In the first heat pump operating mode, the lines of the temperature control circuit are interconnected by means of the temperature control device in such a way that the temperature control medium does not flow through the third line and the fifth line. In other words, although the temperature control medium is conveyed through the first overall line, for example by means of the conveying device, so that the temperature control medium flows through the first overall line, the temperature control medium does not flow through the third line or the fifth line, since this is prevented, for example, by the valve device.
[0038] The electronic computing device is designed to operate the temperature control device in the second heat pump operating mode when the second temperature is greater than the first threshold value and less than a third threshold value that is greater than the first threshold value and greater than the ambient temperature. In other words, in the method, the temperature control device is operated in the second heat pump operating mode when the second temperature is greater than the first threshold value and less than the third threshold value and greater than the ambient temperature, wherein the third threshold value is greater than the first threshold value. In the second heat pump operating mode, the strands of the temperature control circuit are interconnected by means of the valve device in such a way that the second strand and the fourth strand are connected in series with one another in terms of flow technology and thereby form a second overall strand through which the temperature control medium flows. This means that in the second heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the second overall line, for example because in the second heat pump operating mode in the method the temperature control medium is conveyed through the second overall line by means of the conveying device. In the second heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium does not flow through the first line, the third line, and the fifth line. In other words, although the temperature control medium flows through the second overall line in the second heat pump operating mode, in particular because in the method and in the second heat pump operating mode the conveying device conveys the temperature control medium through the second overall line, the temperature control medium does not flow through the first line, the third line, or the fifth line, since this is prevented, for example, by means of the valve device.
[0039] The electronic computing device is designed to operate the temperature control device in the third heat pump operating mode when the third temperature is greater than the fifth temperature and greater than the ambient temperature and the fifth temperature is less than a predetermined fourth threshold value, wherein in the third heat pump operating mode the strands are interconnected by means of the valve device in such a way that the second strand, the third strand and the fourth strand are connected in series to one another and thereby form a third overall strand through which the temperature control medium flows, and in the third heat pump operating mode the temperature control medium does not flow through the first strand and the fifth strand. This means that although the temperature control medium flows through the third overall line, for example because the conveying device conveys the temperature control medium through the third overall line, the temperature control medium does not flow through the first line or through the fifth line, since this is prevented, for example, by means of the valve device.
[0040] The electronic computing device is configured to operate the temperature control device in the fourth heat pump operating mode when the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold, the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold, and greater than the first threshold, and the second temperature is greater than the second threshold. In other words, in the method and in particular by means of the electronic computing device, the temperature control device is operated in the fourth heat pump operating mode when the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold, when the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold, and greater than the first threshold, and when the second temperature is greater than the second threshold. In the fourth heat pump operating mode, the branches of the temperature control circuit are interconnected by means of the valve device in such a way that the first branch and the second branch are connected in series with each other in terms of flow, thereby forming a fourth overall branch through which the temperature control medium flows. This means that, in the method, in the fourth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the fourth overall branch, in particular because the temperature control medium is conveyed through the fourth overall branch in the fourth heat pump operating mode. In particular, the fourth overall branch is the aforementioned first circuit branch.
[0041] In the fourth heat pump operating mode, the third line and the fourth line form a fifth overall line through which the temperature control medium flows and which is fluidically separated from the fourth overall line. This means that in the method in the fourth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium (also) flows through the fifth overall line, for example by the temperature control medium being conveyed through the fifth overall line by means of the conveying device in the fourth heat pump operating mode. However, the fifth overall line and the fourth overall line are fluidically separated from one another by means of the valve device, so that the temperature control medium flowing through the fourth overall line does not flow through the fifth overall line, and so that the temperature control medium flowing through the fifth overall line does not flow through the fourth overall line. In particular, the fifth overall line is the aforementioned second circular line.
[0042] Furthermore, in the fourth heat pump operating mode, the branches of the temperature control circuit are interconnected by means of the valve device in such a way that the temperature control medium does not flow through the fifth branch in the fourth heat pump operating mode. This means that although in the fourth heat pump operating mode the temperature control medium flows through the fourth complete branch and through the fifth complete branch, for example, because the temperature control medium is conveyed through the fourth complete branch and through the fifth complete branch by means of the conveying device, the temperature control medium does not flow through the fifth branch in the fourth heat pump operating mode, since this is prevented, for example, by means of the valve device.
[0043] Furthermore, the electronic computing device is designed to operate the temperature control device in the fifth heat pump operating mode when the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold, the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold, and greater than the first threshold, and the second temperature is less than the second threshold. In other words, for example, in the method, the temperature control device is operated, in particular by means of the electronic computing device, in the fifth heat pump operating mode when the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold, when the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold, and greater than the first threshold, and when the second temperature is less than the second threshold. In the fifth heat pump operating mode, the branches of the temperature control circuit are interconnected by means of the valve device such that the second branch forms a sixth overall branch through which the temperature control medium flows. This means that, in the method in the fifth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the sixth overall branch and thus the second branch, for example, by the method and in the fifth heat pump operating mode conveying the temperature control medium through the sixth overall branch by means of the conveying device. In particular, in the fifth heat pump operating mode, the sixth overall branch is the aforementioned drive machine branch.
[0044] In the fifth heat pump operating mode, the branches of the temperature control circuit are interconnected by means of the valve device such that the third branch and the fourth branch form a seventh overall branch through which the temperature control medium flows, which is fluidically separated from the sixth overall branch. This means that in the method in the fifth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the seventh overall branch, thus flowing through the seventh overall branch, for example, by the temperature control medium being conveyed through the seventh overall branch by means of the conveying device in the method in the fifth heat pump operating mode. However, the sixth and seventh lines are fluidically separated from each other, so that the temperature control medium flowing through the sixth line does not flow through the seventh line, and the temperature control medium flowing through the seventh line does not flow through the sixth line. Furthermore, in the fifth heat pump operating mode, the lines of the temperature control circuit are interconnected by means of the valve device in such a way that the temperature control medium does not flow through the first line and the fifth line. This means that, although in the fifth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the sixth overall line and the seventh overall line, in particular because the temperature control medium is conveyed through the sixth overall line and the seventh overall line by means of the conveying device, the temperature control medium does not flow through the first line or the fifth line, since this is prevented, for example, by the valve device. In particular, in the fifth heat pump operating mode, the seventh overall line is the aforementioned energy storage line.
[0045] By switching the valve device between the switching states as needed and subsequently activating the respective heat pump operating mode, both the interior of the motor vehicle and the electrical energy storage device can be temperature-controlled as needed and thus particularly advantageously, for example, keeping the energy storage device within the aforementioned temperature range. This ensures particularly efficient operation of the motor vehicle. In particular, the invention makes it possible to avoid excessively high temperatures of the energy storage device and excessively low temperatures of the energy storage device, while simultaneously avoiding unfavorable and, for example, both excessively high temperatures and excessively low temperatures in the interior. This ensures, on the one hand, effective and efficient operation of the energy storage system, and, on the other hand, particularly comfortable conditions can be created or maintained for people inside the vehicle.
[0046] Through or in the first heat pump operating mode, for example, heat provided by the drive machine and heat from the environment can be used to heat the cabin air and thus the interior, in particular via the first heat exchanger and the refrigerant heat exchanger. Heat from the electrical energy storage device is not used for this purpose, for example, or is not available. In or by the second heat pump operating mode, for example, with regard to the environment, the drive machine and the electrical energy storage device, only heat provided by the electrical machine, i.e. waste heat, can be used to heat the cabin air and consequently the interior, in particular as described above and in particular via the refrigerant heat exchanger. In or by the third heat pump operating mode, for example, in particular with regard to the environment and the drive engine, only heat provided by the drive engine, i.e. waste heat, can be used to heat the cabin air and thus the interior via the first heat exchanger and in particular via the refrigerant heat exchanger, and the remaining heat provided by the drive engine can be used to heat, i.e., heat, the electrical energy storage device. In or by the fourth heat pump operating mode, for example, with regard to the environment, the drive engine and the electrical energy storage device, only heat provided by the electrical energy storage device, i.e., waste heat, is used to heat, i.e., heat, the cabin air and thus the interior, in particular via the first heat exchanger (chiller) and, for example, also via the refrigerant heat exchanger.Any heat provided or capable of being provided by the drive motor, i.e., waste heat, can be dissipated to the environment via the ambient air, for example, thereby cooling the drive motor. In or by the fifth heat pump operating mode, for example, heat provided exclusively by the electrical energy storage device, i.e., waste heat, with respect to the environment, the electrical energy storage device, and the drive motor, can be used to warm, i.e., heat, the cabin air and thus the interior, particularly via the first heat exchanger and, most particularly, also via the refrigerant heat exchanger. The temperature control medium flowing through the second line and thus the drive motor does not flow through the ambient air cooler, but bypasses it, in particular via an ambient line that bypasses the ambient air cooler, also referred to as a bypass line, thereby ensuring advantageous temperature control of the drive motor. The invention is or offers an advantageous operating strategy according to which the electrical energy storage device can be efficiently temperature-controlled, for example, to bring an energy storage device into the aforementioned temperature range or to a favorable temperature, and then to maintain it in the temperature range or at the temperature, while simultaneously ensuring advantageous temperature control of the interior.
[0047] In order to achieve particularly advantageous temperature control, one embodiment of the invention provides that, in the third heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the first branch, while the second branch is fluidically blocked by the valve device. This means that, in the third heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the first branch and thus through the energy storage device, and does not flow through the second branch, i.e., does not bypass the electrical energy storage device.
[0048] A further embodiment is characterized in that in the fourth heat pump operating mode, the first branch is flowed through by the temperature control medium and the second branch is fluidically blocked by means of the valve device, whereby a particularly advantageous temperature control can be achieved.
[0049] In a further, particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is provided that in the fifth heat pump operating mode, the first branch is flowed through by the temperature control medium and the second branch is fluidically blocked by means of the valve device, whereby a particularly advantageous temperature control, in particular of the electrical energy storage device, can be ensured.
[0050] In a further, particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the electronic computing device is also designed to operate the temperature control device in the sixth heat pump operating mode when the second temperature is lower than the second threshold and the third temperature is lower than the third threshold and greater than the first threshold. Thus, for example, the method provides for the temperature control device to be operated, in particular by means of the electronic computing device, in the sixth heat pump operating mode when the second temperature is lower than the second threshold and when the third temperature is lower than the third threshold and greater than the first threshold. In the sixth heat pump operating mode, the branches of the temperature control circuit are interconnected by means of the valve device such that the second branch forms an eighth overall branch through which the temperature control medium flows. Thus, for example, in the method in the sixth heat pump operating mode, it is provided that in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the eighth overall branch and thus the second branch, for example, by conveying the temperature control medium through the eighth overall branch by means of the conveying device. In particular, in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the eighth overall branch is the aforementioned drive machine branch.
[0051] In the sixth heat pump operating mode, the strands of the temperature control circuit are interconnected by means of the temperature control device in such a way that the temperature control medium flows through the fifth end face, so that in the method in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the fifth end face, for example in that in the method in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium is conveyed through the fifth end face by means of the conveying device. In the sixth heat pump operating mode, the fifth line branches off from the eighth overall line at a branch point. The branch point is arranged upstream of the drive motor and downstream of a measuring point at which the second temperature can be or is detected, in the flow direction of the temperature control medium flowing through the eighth overall line, so that, for example, the second temperature sensor is arranged at the aforementioned measuring point, in particular in the eighth overall line and thus in the temperature control circuit. In particular, in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the fifth line is the aforementioned first heat exchanger line.
[0052] In the sixth heat pump operating mode, the fifth branch flows into the eighth overall branch at a branching point located downstream of the drive motor and upstream of the measuring point in the flow direction of the temperature control medium flowing through the eighth overall branch. The temperature control medium flowing through the fifth branch thus flows from the branching point to the branching point, so that the branching point is located downstream of the branching point in the flow direction of the temperature control medium flowing through the fifth branch. In the sixth heat pump operating mode, the branches of the temperature control circuit are interconnected by means of the valve device in such a way that, in the sixth heat pump operating mode, no flow of the temperature control medium through the first branch occurs. This means that, in particular in the method, the temperature control medium flows through the fifth line and through the eighth overall line in the sixth heat pump operating mode, in particular because the temperature control medium is conveyed through the fifth line and through the eighth overall line by means of the conveying device. However, in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium does not flow through the first line, since this is prevented, for example, by means of the valve device. Furthermore, in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the lines of the temperature control circuit are interconnected by means of the valve device in such a way that the third line and the fourth line form a ninth overall line through which the temperature control medium flows, which is fluidically separated from the eighth overall line and from the fifth line. This means that in the method, in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the ninth overall line, for example, by conveying the temperature control medium through the ninth overall line by means of the conveying device in the sixth heat pump operating mode. In particular, in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the ninth overall line is the aforementioned second heat exchanger line. However, the ninth overall line is fluidically separated from the eighth overall line and the fifth line, in particular by means of the valve device, so that the temperature control medium flowing through the eighth overall line does not flow through the ninth overall line, the temperature control medium flowing through the fifth overall line does not flow through the ninth overall line, the temperature control medium flowing through the ninth overall line does not flow through the eighth overall line, and the temperature control medium flowing through the ninth overall line does not flow through the fifth overall line. This ensures particularly advantageous and needs-based temperature control. For example, in or by the sixth heat pump operating mode, with respect to the electrical energy storage device, the drive motor and the environment, only heat provided by the environment or heat only from the environment can be used to heat the cabin, in particular the interior. For this purpose, for example, a second ambient air cooler is provided in addition to the ambient air cooler, which is also referred to as the first ambient air cooler. This second ambient air cooler is arranged in the fourth line in the sixth heat pump operating mode, for example, or is preferably connected in series with the fourth line in terms of flow technology and is thus part of the ninth overall line. The previous and following statements regarding the first ambient air cooler can easily be applied to the second ambient air cooler and vice versa. Air into or from the environment can thus flow around the second ambient air cooler. For example, heat from the air or the ambient air can be transferred via the second ambient air cooler to the temperature control medium flowing through the ninth overall line. Heat can be transferred from the temperature control medium to the refrigerant via the first heat exchanger, so that heat can then be transferred from the refrigerant to the cabin air, for example, in particular via the refrigerant heat exchanger and optionally via the aforementioned interior heat exchanger. It is conceivable that in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flowing through the second line or the eighth overall line and thus the drive machine surrounds both the first ambient air cooler and the second ambient air cooler, thus bypassing them, and thus being able to ensure advantageous temperature control of the drive machine as well.
[0053] In order to achieve particularly advantageous temperature control, a further embodiment of the invention provides that, in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the second branch and the first branch is fluidically blocked by the valve device. This allows, particularly in the sixth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the second branch and thus bypasses the electrical energy storage device via the second branch, thus preventing it from flowing through the electrical energy storage device. This also allows the electrical energy storage device to be advantageously temperature controlled.
[0054] In a further, particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the second branch has a third branch in which the drive motor is arranged as the first drive motor. The second branch has a fourth branch connected in fluidic parallel to the third branch, in which a second drive motor, provided in addition to the first drive motor, is arranged to drive the motor vehicle. The previous and following statements regarding the first drive motor can be readily applied to the second drive motor and vice versa. This enables particularly efficient operation of the motor vehicle.
[0055] In order to be able to realize particularly effective, efficient and needs-based temperature control, it is provided in a further embodiment of the invention that an electrical heating element for heating the temperature control medium is arranged in the fourth branch. This means that the temperature control medium flowing through the fourth branch can be heated by means of the electrical heating element using electrical energy with which the heating element is supplied, so that a needs-based heating of the temperature control medium in the fourth branch is possible. It is preferably provided that, with regard to the temperature control medium flowing through the fourth branch and flowing away from the conveying device and towards the first heat exchanger, the electrical heating element is arranged downstream of the conveying device and upstream of the first heat exchanger (chiller). This can ensure particularly effective and efficient temperature control.
[0056] Finally, it has proven particularly advantageous if the conveying device comprises a first pump arranged in the second line for conveying the temperature control medium and a second pump arranged in the third line for conveying the temperature control medium. This allows for demand-based, effective, and efficient temperature control, and preferably, the respective pump is an electric pump, thus electrically operable.
[0057] In particular, the invention can realize at least the following advantages: - Reduction of heat losses compared to conventional solutions - Absorption of heat from the environment - Increasing storage or cell temperatures through demand-based heat flow control - Increasing the temperature of the drive machine by heat flow control - potential increase in storage or cell temperatures, especially during a restart - higher availability of recuperation and drive power - higher efficiency of energy supply through electrical energy storage - Avoidance of storage heating by using waste heat from the drive engine - by using residual heat from the electrical energy storage, the drive motor and the environment for the heat pump - temperature tracking of the electrical energy storage device via the heat pump operating modes, also known as heat pump operating modes, with the aim of efficiently achieving the temperature range, also known as the target corridor, and keeping the electrical energy storage device or its temperature within the target corridor - Heat pump operation or use of heat via the drive motor and the electrical energy storage and thus realisation of a heat supply - Heat pump operation and thus use of heat via the electrical energy storage and thus heat dissipation - advantageous strategy for the efficient control of existing heat flows - no active adjustment effort, for example when heating

[0059] In the figures, identical or functionally identical elements are provided with the same reference symbols.
[0060] Fig. 1 shows a schematic representation of a temperature control device 1 of a motor vehicle, also simply referred to as a vehicle and preferably designed as a motor vehicle, in particular as a passenger car. The temperature control device 1 has a temperature control circuit 2 through which a preferably liquid temperature control medium, which is preferably a component of the temperature control device 1, can flow, which is also simply referred to as a temperature control circuit, circuit, or circuit. The temperature control circuit 2 has a first branch S1 through which the temperature control medium can flow, in which a first ambient air cooler 3 is arranged. Ambient air, i.e., air located in the environment of the motor vehicle, can flow around the ambient air cooler 3, so that heat can be transferred from the temperature control medium to the ambient air via the ambient air cooler 3. As a result, the temperature control medium can be cooled via the ambient air cooler 3.The temperature control circuit 2 also has a second line S2 through which the temperature control medium flows, in which, as will be explained in more detail below, two drive motors 4 and 5 are arranged. In the exemplary embodiment shown in the figures, the respective drive motor 4, 5 is designed as a respective electric machine, by means of which the motor vehicle can be driven, in particular purely electrically. For example, at least one electrical or electronic first component 6 is also arranged in the line S2, which is, for example, a power electronics unit assigned in particular to the drive motor 4.
[0061] The temperature control circuit 2 also has a third branch S3 through which the temperature control medium can flow, which has a first branch Z1 and a second branch Z2 as a bypass branch. An electrical energy storage device 7 is arranged in the first branch Z1, which is preferably a high-voltage component and is therefore also referred to as a high-voltage storage device. The temperature control device can bypass the first branch via the second branch Z2, so that the temperature control device flowing through the second branch Z2 does not flow through the first branch Z1 and thus does not flow through the electrical energy storage device 1, which is also simply referred to as a storage device or energy storage device. Fig. 1 that the second line S2 has a third branch Z3, in which the drive motor 4 and, in this case, also the component 6 are arranged. Furthermore, the second line S2 has a fourth branch Z4, in which the drive motor 5 is arranged. In particular, at least when the temperature control medium flows through the second line S2 and thereby through the branches Z3 and Z4, the branches Z3 and Z4 are connected in parallel to each other in terms of flow.
[0062] The temperature control circuit 2 also has a fourth branch S4, in which a first heat exchanger 8 is arranged. The first heat exchanger 8 is also referred to as a chiller. The first heat exchanger 8 is also arranged in a refrigerant circuit (not shown in the figures) through which a refrigerant can flow, which is preferably arranged in addition to the temperature control circuit 2 and very preferably is fluidically separated from the temperature control circuit 2. Heat can be exchanged between the refrigerant and the temperature control medium via the heat exchanger 8, in particular in such a way that the heat exchanger 8 functions, is designed or can be operated as a cooler for the temperature control medium. Thus, for example, heat can be transferred from the temperature control medium to the refrigerant via the heat exchanger 8, whereby the temperature control medium is cooled and the refrigerant is heated.
[0063] The temperature control circuit 2 also has a fifth branch S5, in which a second heat exchanger 9 is arranged. The heat exchanger 9 is also arranged in the refrigerant circuit through which the coolant can flow. In particular, the second heat exchanger 9 can be designed, function, or be operable as a cooler for the coolant, so that, for example, the coolant can be cooled by means of the heat exchanger 9. In particular, the heat exchanger 9 is, for example, a condenser or can be operated as a condenser, so that the coolant can be cooled and thereby condensed by means of the heat exchanger 9. Via the heat exchanger 9, heat can be exchanged between the temperature control medium flowing through branch S5, in particular, and the refrigerant, in particular in such a way that heat can be transferred via the heat exchanger 9 from the refrigerant to the temperature control medium flowing through branch S5, in particular.Since in particular the temperature control medium is a liquid, the heat exchanger 9 is designed, for example, as a liquid-cooled, in particular as a water-cooled, condenser, which is also referred to as WCC.
[0064] The temperature control device 1 has a conveying device 10 arranged in the temperature control circuit 2, by means of which the temperature control medium can be conveyed through the temperature control circuit, in particular in a flow direction. The conveying device 10 is preferably electrically operated. The conveying device 10 will be explained in more detail below. Furthermore, the temperature control device 1 has a temperature detection device 11 arranged in particular in the temperature control circuit 2, by means of which a first temperature, also designated T3, of the temperature control medium in the first line S1 upstream of the ambient air cooler 3 and downstream of the conveying device 10 can be detected, i.e. measured. For this purpose, the temperature detection device 11 has, for example, a first temperature sensor 12, which is arranged at a first measuring point in the temperature control circuit 2, wherein the first measuring point is arranged in the line S1 upstream of the ambient air cooler 3 and in particular downstream of the conveying device 10. At the first measuring point, the first temperature sensor 12 can measure the first temperature (T3), so that the first temperature prevails at the first measuring point and a first temperature of the temperature control medium in the temperature control circuit 2 is at the measuring point. By means of the temperature detection device 11, a second temperature of the temperature control medium in the second line upstream of the drive machines 4 and 5 can be detected, i.e. measured. For this purpose, the temperature detection device 11 has, for example, a second temperature sensor 13, which is arranged at a second measuring point in the temperature control circuit 2, in particular in the line S2.At the second measuring point, the second temperature sensor 13 can detect, i.e. measure, the second temperature, which is also designated T5, wherein in the present case the second measuring point and thus, for example, the second temperature sensor 13 are arranged upstream of the drive machines 4 and 5 and in particular downstream of the conveyor device 10. In the exemplary embodiment shown in the figures, the second measuring point and thus the second temperature sensor 13 is arranged, for example, upstream of the line S5 in the flow direction of the temperature control medium flowing through the second line S2 and flowing away from the conveyor device 10 and towards the respective drive machine 4, 5, in particular upstream of a branch point at which, for example, the line S5 branches off from the line S2.
[0065] The temperature detection device 11 can detect, i.e., measure, a third temperature of the temperature control medium in the third line S3 upstream of the first branch Z1 and upstream of the second branch Z2, and preferably downstream of the conveying device 10. For this purpose, the temperature detection device 11 has, for example, a third temperature sensor 14, which is arranged at a third measuring point in the temperature control circuit 2. Thus, for example, the temperature sensor 14 at the third measuring point can detect the third temperature of the temperature control medium, so that the third temperature is a third temperature of the temperature control medium prevailing at the third measuring point. Accordingly, the second temperature is a second temperature of the temperature control medium prevailing at the second measuring point. The second temperature, the third temperature, and the first temperature prevail in the temperature control circuit 2.The third measuring point is arranged upstream of branches Z1 and Z2 and downstream of the conveying device 10 in the flow direction of the temperature control medium flowing through line S3, away from the conveying device 10 and towards the branches Z1 and Z2. The third temperature is also designated T6. The temperature detection device 11 can also detect an ambient temperature as a fourth temperature. The fourth temperature is thus a temperature of the aforementioned environment of the motor vehicle. For this purpose, the temperature detection device 11 has, for example, a fourth temperature sensor 15, which is also referred to as an ambient temperature sensor. The ambient temperature can be detected, i.e. measured, by means of the ambient temperature sensor. Finally, the temperature detection device 11 can detect, i.e. measure, a temperature of the electrical energy storage device 7, also designated Tz.For this purpose, the temperature detection device 11 has a fifth temperature sensor 16, which is arranged, for example, in the electrical energy storage device 7. For example, the fifth temperature is or represents a temperature of at least one storage cell of the electrical energy storage device 7.
[0066] The temperature control device 1 has a valve device 17, which in this case has two valves 18 and 19. For example, the valve 18 is a component external to the valve 19 and thus arranged outside the valve 19, so that accordingly the valve 19 is a component external to the valve 18 and thus arranged outside the valve 18. Thus, preferably the valve 18 is provided in addition to the valve 19, preferably the valve 19 is provided in addition to the valve 18. In particular, the valves 18 and 19 are designed separately from one another, in particular completely, and are thus individual parts designed separately from one another. The respective valve 18, 19 and thus the valve device 17 can be switched between respective, different switching states, in particular by preferably electrically controlling the respective valve 18, 19 and thus the valve device 17.For this purpose, for example, the temperature control device 1 has a particularly schematically illustrated electronic computing device 20, also referred to as a control unit, by means of which the respective valve 18, 19 and thus the valve device 17 can be controlled, in particular electrically or electronically. For this purpose, the electronic computing device 20 can, for example, provide a particularly electrical control signal, wherein the valve 18, 19 can receive the respective control signal, whereby the respective valve 18, 19 and thus the valve device 17 is controlled. As a result, the respective valve 18, 19 and thus the valve device 17 can be switched between different switching states, thus switching back and forth. The respective switching state of the valve device 17, for example, specifically triggers a respective heat pump operating mode, so that, by switching the valve device 17 to the different switching states, several different heat pump operating modes of the temperature control device 1 can be set, i.e., activated. Thus, the temperature control device 1 can be operated in the different heat pump operating modes by means of the electronic computing device 20 and the valve device 17. The temperature control device 1 can be operated in a heat pump mode and thus as a heat pump, wherein the heat pump operating modes are different operating types or operating modes of the heat pump.
[0067] In particular, the temperature control device 1 makes it possible to advantageously control the temperature of the motor vehicle, i.e., to cool and / or heat it, whose interior, also referred to as the passenger cell or passenger compartment, is formed by a structure of the motor vehicle designed, for example, as a self-supporting body. This is particularly advantageous in that the interior, the electrical energy storage device 7, and, for example, also the respective drive motor 4, 5, can be particularly advantageously controlled by means of the heat pump and in the respective heat pump operating mode. In particular, the interior can be controlled in such a way that the interior can be warmed, i.e., heated. In particular, the electrical energy storage device 7 can be advantageously tempered, i.e., cooled and / or heated, at the same time, so that, for example, the energy storage device 7 can be brought into a favorable temperature range and / or maintained within that temperature range. Unfavorable temperatures of the respective drive motors 4, 5 can also be avoided.
[0068] If, for example, the first temperature is greater than a predefined first threshold value and the second temperature is greater than a predefined second threshold value, the temperature control device 1 is transferred, for example, by means of the electronic computing device 20 into a first of the heat pump operating modes, in particular from another heat pump operating mode, and in particular, the temperature control device 1 is maintained in the first heat pump operating mode by means of the electronic computing device 20 if and as long as the first temperature is greater than the first threshold value and the second temperature is greater than the second threshold value. The second threshold value is, for example, a target value for the second temperature, and the first threshold value is, for example, a desired minimum of the first temperature, which is, for example, an outlet temperature of the chiller (first heat exchanger 8).In the first heat pump operating mode, the branches S1 - 5 of the temperature control circuit 2 are interconnected by means of the valve device 17, i.e. by means of the valves 18 and 19, in such a way that the first branch S1, the second branch S2 and the fourth branch S4 are connected in series with one another in terms of flow technology and thus form a first overall branch G1, through which the temperature control medium flows in the first heat pump operating mode, while the temperature control medium does not flow through the third branch S3 and not through the fifth branch S5. In . Fig. 1, 21 denotes an equalizing tank by means of which volume and quantity fluctuations of the temperature control medium in the temperature control circuit 2 can be compensated.
[0069] By means of the electronic computing device 20, the temperature control device 1 is transferred into a second of the heat pump operating modes, in particular from another of the heat pump operating modes, when the second temperature is greater than the first threshold value and less than a third threshold value that is greater than the first threshold value and greater than the ambient temperature. For example, by means of the electronic computing device 20, the temperature control device 1 is operated and maintained in the second heat pump operating mode if and as long as the second temperature is greater than the first threshold value and less than the third threshold value and greater than the ambient temperature. The ambient temperature is also referred to as T0. The third threshold value is, for example, a target maximum for the outlet temperature of the chiller.
[0070] In the Fig. In the second heat pump operating mode shown in Figure 2, the branches S1-5 of the temperature control circuit 2 are connected to one another, in particular fluidically, by means of the valve device 17 in such a way that the second branch S2 and the fourth branch S4 are fluidically connected in series with one another and thereby form a second overall branch G2 through which the temperature control medium flows, in particular by the temperature control medium being conveyed through the second overall branch G2 by means of the conveying device 10. In the second heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium does not flow through the first branch S1, the third branch S3, and the fifth branch S5. Fig. 2 shows that in the second heat pump operating mode, the second overall line G2 has a bypass line UL, also referred to as a bypass or bypass line, via which the ambient air cooler 3 can be or is bypassed by the temperature control medium. This means that in the second heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flowing through the second overall line G2 and thus the bypass line UL bypasses the ambient air cooler 3 via the bypass line UL, and therefore does not flow through the ambient air cooler 3. In the present case, the bypass line UL is arranged downstream of the fourth line S4 and upstream of the second line S2 in the flow direction of the temperature control medium flowing through the overall line G2.
[0071] In Fig. Figure 3 illustrates a third of the heat pump operating modes. For example, by means of the electronic computing device 20, the temperature control device 1 is transferred to the third heat pump operating mode, in particular from another of the heat pump operating modes, i.e., switched over, when the third temperature is greater than the fifth temperature and greater than the ambient temperature, and the fifth temperature is lower than a predetermined fourth threshold value, which, for example, is a threshold value different from the first threshold value, the second threshold value, and the third threshold value.By means of the electronic computing device 20, for example, the temperature control device 1 is maintained and operated in the third heat pump operating mode when and, for example, as long as the third temperature is lower than the third threshold value and higher than the first threshold value and, for example, higher than a difference value resulting from the fifth temperature less a value that depends in particular on the fifth temperature, so that, for example, the difference value is a value different from the first threshold value, the second threshold value, the third threshold value and the fourth threshold value. In the third heat pump operating mode, the branches S1-5 of the temperature control circuit 2 are interconnected by means of the valve device 17 and thus by means of the valves 18 and 19 such that the second branch S2, the third branch S3, and the fourth branch S4 are connected in series with one another in terms of flow technology, thereby forming a third overall branch G3 through which the temperature control medium flows, for example, by the temperature control medium being conveyed through the third overall branch G3 by means of the conveying device 10. In the third heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium does not flow through the first branch S1 or through the fifth branch S5, and for example, also not through the bypass line UL.
[0072] Fig. 4 illustrates a fourth of the heat pump operating modes of the temperature control device 1. For example, by means of the electronic computing device 20, the temperature control device 1 is operated in the fourth heat pump operating mode when the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold value, the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold value and greater than the first threshold value, and the second temperature is greater than the second threshold value. Fig. 5 illustrates a fifth of the heat pump operating modes, wherein, for example, the electronic computing device 20 operates the temperature control device 1 in the fifth heat pump operating mode when the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold, the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold, and greater than the first threshold, and the second temperature is less than the second threshold. If, for example, the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold, the temperature control device 1 is transferred, i.e., switched, to the fourth heat pump operating mode from one of the other heat pump operating modes by means of the electronic computing device 20, if, in particular, also the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold, and greater than the first threshold, and the second temperature is greater than the second threshold. If the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold value, the temperature control device 1 is transferred, for example by means of the electronic computing device 20, into the fifth heat pump operating mode from another of the heat pump operating modes, that is to say switched over, if, in particular also, the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold value and greater than the first threshold value and the second temperature is less than the second threshold value. For example, by means of the electronic computing device 20, the temperature control device 1 is transferred to the third heat pump operating mode from another of the heat pump operating modes, that is to say switched over, when the third temperature is greater than the fifth temperature and greater than the ambient temperature and the fifth temperature is less than the fourth threshold value, and for example, by means of the electronic computing device 20, the temperature control device 1 is maintained and operated in the third heat pump operating mode when and as long as the third temperature is greater than the difference value, less than the third threshold value and greater than the first threshold value.
[0073] For example, by means of the electronic computing device 20, the temperature control device 1 is operated and maintained in the fourth heat pump operating mode if and as long as the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold value and greater than the first threshold value and the second temperature is greater than the second threshold value, these conditions also being referred to as maintenance conditions or maintenance conditions. If, for example, the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold value and, however, at least one of the aforementioned maintenance conditions is no longer met, the temperature control device 1 is switched from the fourth heat pump operating mode to the fifth heat pump operating mode, for example by means of the electronic computing device 20, if the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold value. The temperature control device 1 is operated and maintained in the fifth heat pump operating mode, for example by means of the electronic computing device 20, if and as long as the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold value, and greater than the first threshold value, and the second temperature is less than the second threshold value. The latter conditions are also referred to as second maintenance conditions or second compliance conditions. If, for example, the fifth temperature is greater than the fourth threshold value and at least one of the second maintenance conditions is not (or no longer) met, the temperature control device 1 is switched from the fifth heat pump operating mode to the fourth heat pump operating mode, for example by means of the electronic computing device 20, and the temperature control device 1 is operated and maintained in the fourth heat pump operating mode, for example, and preferably only in the fourth heat pump operating mode, for as long as the third temperature is greater than the first temperature, less than the third threshold value and greater than the first threshold value, and the second temperature is greater than the second threshold value.
[0074] Fig. 6 illustrates a sixth of the heat pump operating modes, wherein by means of the electronic computing device 20 the temperature control device 1 is operated in the sixth heat pump operating mode when the second temperature is lower than the second threshold value and the third temperature is lower than the third threshold value and higher than the first threshold value.
[0075] Out of Fig. 4 to 6 it can be seen that in the fourth heat pump operating mode, the branches S1-5 of the temperature control circuit 2 are interconnected by means of the valve device 17 in such a way that the first branch S1 and the second branch S2 are fluidically connected in series with one another and thereby form a fourth overall branch G4 through which the temperature control medium flows, in particular because the temperature control medium is conveyed through the fourth overall branch G4 by means of the conveying device 10. In the fourth heat pump operating mode, the third branch S3 and the fourth branch S4 are fluidically connected in series with one another and thereby form a fifth overall branch G5 through which the temperature control medium flows, in particular because the temperature control medium is conveyed through the fifth overall branch G5 by means of the conveying device 10.The entire lines G4 and G5 are fluidically separated from each other, in particular by means of the valve device 17. In the fourth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium does not flow through the fifth line S5, so that the temperature control medium does not flow through the fifth line S5.
[0076] In the Fig. 5, the branches S1-5 of the temperature control circuit 2 are interconnected by means of the valve device 17 in such a way that the second branch S2 forms a sixth overall branch G6, through which the temperature control medium flows, in particular by the temperature control medium being conveyed through the sixth overall branch G6 by means of the conveying device 10. In the fifth heat pump operating mode, the third branch S3 and the fourth branch S4 are fluidically connected to one another in series, whereby the third branch S3 and the fourth branch S4 form a seventh overall branch G7, through which the temperature control medium flows, in particular by the temperature control medium being conveyed through the seventh overall branch G7 by means of the conveying device 10. In the fifth heat pump operating mode, the overall branches G6 and G7 are fluidically separated from one another, in particular by means of the valve device 17.Furthermore, in the fifth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium does not flow through the first line S1 or the fifth line S5. Off. Fig. 5 it can be seen that in the fifth heat pump operating mode the bypass line UL is a component of the sixth overall line G6, such that the bypass line UL is arranged or runs upstream of the conveying device 10 and downstream of the line S2, in particular downstream of the respective drive machine 4, 5, in the flow direction of the temperature control medium flowing through the overall line G6.
[0077] In the Fig. In the optional sixth heat pump operating mode illustrated in Figure 6, the branches S1-5 are interconnected by means of the valve device 17 such that the second branch S2 forms an eighth overall branch G8, through which the temperature control medium flows, in particular by the temperature control medium being conveyed through the overall branch G8 by means of the conveying device 10. In the sixth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium flows through the fifth branch S5 and thus through the heat exchanger 9, for example such that the temperature control medium is conveyed through the branch S5 by means of the conveying device 10.In the sixth heat pump operating mode, the fifth line S5 branches off from the eighth overall line G8 at a branch point A1, wherein, in the flow direction of the temperature control medium flowing through the overall line G8, the branch point A1 is arranged upstream of the drive motor 4, 5 and downstream of the second measuring point, at which the second temperature is measured and, for example, the temperature sensor 13 is arranged. In the sixth heat pump operating mode, the line S5 opens into the eighth overall line G8 at a mouth point M, wherein the mouth point M is arranged downstream of the drive motor 4, 5 and upstream of the second measuring point in the flow direction of the temperature control medium flowing through the overall line G8.In the sixth heat pump operating mode, the temperature control medium does not flow through the first line S1, since, for example, the temperature control medium bypasses the first line S1 via the line S5 and / or the bypass line UL, which is a component of the overall line G8 in the sixth heat pump operating mode. In the sixth heat pump operating mode, the third line S3 and the fourth line S4 are connected in series with one another in terms of flow technology, whereby the lines S3 and S4 form a ninth overall line G9 through which the temperature control medium flows, in particular because the temperature control medium is conveyed through the overall line by means of the conveying device 10. The overall lines G8 and G9 are fluidically separated from one another, in particular by means of the valve device 17.
[0078] According to Fig. 6, the temperature control device 1 has an ambient air heat exchanger 22, which is provided in particular in addition to the ambient air cooler 3 and in addition to the heat exchangers 8 and 9 and around which the aforementioned ambient air can flow. For example, the ambient air heat exchanger 22 is arranged in an additional branch SZ. In the sixth heat pump operating mode, for example, the additional branch SZ and thus the ambient air heat exchanger 22 are components of the overall branch G9, such that the additional branch SZ is arranged downstream of the third branch S3 and upstream of the fourth branch S4 in the flow direction of the temperature control medium flowing through the overall branch G9.Via the ambient air heat exchanger 22, heat can be exchanged between the ambient air flowing around and / or through the ambient air heat exchanger 22 and the temperature control medium flowing through the ambient air heat exchanger 22 in the sixth heat pump operating mode, in particular such that heat can be transferred from the ambient air to the temperature control medium via the ambient air heat exchanger 22. This heat, which has been transferred to the temperature control medium via the ambient air heat exchanger 22 and originates from the environment or ambient air, can be supplied, for example, to the chiller (heat exchanger 8) and thus used, for example, via the chiller (heat exchanger 8) to temperature-control the interior or the air supplied to the interior, also referred to as cabin air.Furthermore, for example, the heat transferred via the ambient air heat exchanger 22 and originating from the environment or ambient air, which has been transferred to the temperature control medium, can be supplied to the interior and / or the heat exchanger 9, in particular via the refrigerant circuit in which both the chiller (heat exchanger 8) and the heat exchanger 9 are arranged. It can be seen that an electric heating element 23 is arranged in the line S4, in particular upstream of the heat exchanger 8, which is designed, for example, as an electric continuous-flow heater. By means of the electric heating element 23, the temperature control medium flowing through the electric heating element 23 or the line S4 can be heated using electrical energy. Thus, for example, in the sixth heat pump operating mode, additional electrical heating can be realized by means of the electrical heating element 23, in order to be able to particularly advantageously regulate the temperature of the interior, for example. The sixth heat pump operating mode is particularly useful when neither the electrical energy storage device 7 nor the drive motor 4, 5 provides waste heat that can be used to regulate the temperature of the interior. To implement the heat pump operating mode, for example, the valve device 17 has a third valve 24 as an additional valve, wherein the valves 18, 19, and 24, viewed in pairs, are designed as components that are formed separately from one another and, in particular, are arranged outside one another.
[0079] By means of the fifth heat pump operating mode, for example, heat can be absorbed from the electrical energy storage device 7 and supplied to the chiller and via this, for example, to the cabin air or the interior. This is particularly advantageous when there is a heat surplus at the energy storage device 7, meaning that the electrical energy storage device 7 can provide heat, in particular waste heat, which can be used to regulate the temperature, in particular to heat, the interior. The fourth heat pump operating mode makes it possible to absorb heat from or from the energy storage device 7 and supply it to the chiller and via this, for example, to the cabin air and thus the interior, which is particularly advantageous when there is a heat surplus at the energy storage device 7.In the third heat pump operating mode, for example, heat can be absorbed from or by the drive motor 4, 5 and supplied to the chiller and thus to the cabin air or the interior, and / or the energy storage device 7 can be heated, in particular via the chiller. The third heat pump operating mode is particularly advantageous when the energy storage device 7 is cold, thus having a low temperature, and there is excess heat at the drive motor 4, 5, thus the drive motor 4, 5 provides heat, in particular waste heat, which can be used to heat the interior and / or the energy storage device 7.
[0080] The second heat pump operating mode makes it possible to absorb heat from the drive motor 4, 5 and supply it to the chiller and thus, for example, to the interior or cabin air. This is particularly advantageous when the first temperature is greater than the ambient temperature. The first heat pump operating mode makes it possible to extract or absorb heat from the environment and, for example, to heat the drive motor 4, 5 and, for example, to supply a remaining portion of the heat originating from the environment to the chiller and thus, via the chiller, to the cabin air or the interior, which is particularly advantageous when the first temperature is lower than the ambient temperature.
[0081] It can be seen, for example, that a further electrical or electronic component 25 can be arranged in the fifth branch S5, which can, for example, be power electronics assigned in particular to the drive machine 5. In this case, for example, the heat exchanger 9 is arranged in a fifth branch and the component 25 in a sixth branch of the branch S5, wherein the fifth branch and the sixth branch can be connected in parallel to one another in terms of flow. It can also be seen, for example, that a fan 26, in particular an electrically operated fan, can be assigned to the ambient air cooler 3 and, for example, the ambient air heat exchanger 22, by means of which fan the ambient air can be conveyed in order to thereby supply the ambient air cooler 3 and the ambient air heat exchanger 22 with the ambient air.
[0082] The conveying device 10 comprises a first pump 27, which is arranged in line S2. Furthermore, the conveying device 10 comprises an additional, second pump 28, which is arranged in line S3. By means of the pumps 27 and 28, which can be operated electrically, for example, the temperature control medium can be advantageously conveyed through the temperature control circuit 2 in the respective heat pump operating mode.
[0083] In the figures, lines through which the temperature control medium does not flow are shown in dashed lines, and lines through which the temperature control medium flows are shown in solid lines.
[0084] Fig. 7 shows a seventh operating mode of the temperature control device 1, wherein the seventh operating mode is preferably a seventh heat pump operating mode. Fig. The seventh operating mode illustrated in Figure 7 is essentially the same as in Fig.5, but with the following difference: The temperature control circuit 2 has a connecting line 29. In the seventh operating state, a portion of the temperature control medium flowing through the seventh complete line G7 is branched off from the complete line G7 at a first connection point V1 and introduced into the connecting line 29, wherein the first connection point is arranged in the flow direction of the temperature control medium flowing through the complete line G7 between the lines S3 and S4 and thus downstream of the heat exchanger 8 (chiller) and upstream of the branches Z1 and Z2. The temperature control medium branched off from the overall line G7 and introduced into the connecting line 29 flows through the connecting line 29 and is guided by means of the connecting line 29 to a second connection point V2, at which the temperature control medium flowing through the connecting line 29 flows out of the connecting line 29 and into the bypass line UL and from there into the line S2 and thus into the sixth overall line G6.Thus, for example, the connecting line 29 belongs to the sixth overall line G6, which is thus, for example, connected in fluidic series with line S4 and in fluidic parallel with line S3. In other words, line S4 branches into line S3 and the overall line G6 comprising the bypass line UL and line S2, which flows via the valve device 17, in particular via the valve 18, into line S4, into which line S3 also flows. In contrast, in the fifth heat pump operating mode, for example, it is provided that the sixth overall line G6 and the seventh overall line G7 are connected in fluidic parallel to one another.
