Description

[0001] The invention relates to a toy for movement with one hand according to the independent claim.

[0002] The invention lies in the technical field of toys that are held in the hand or moved by the hand.

[0003] A similar toy is the yo-yo. The yo-yo is a very old toy, already known in ancient Greece and depicted on clay jugs. The first patent for a yo-yo was published in the USA under number US59745A on November 20, 1866. The inventors listed therein were James L. Haven and Charles Hettrick.

[0004] A yo-yo consists of two usually round discs connected at the center by a bar. A string is attached to the bar, which wraps around the bar as the discs rotate. The free end of the string is tied to a finger, and by raising and lowering the hand, the string can be wound and unwound with some skill, creating a periodic translational motion of the yo-yo due to the rotation.

[0005] There are many different types of yo-yos, so in competitions, participants compete in different classes depending on how the yo-yo is played. For example, in Class A, one yo-yo is used, while in Class AA, two yo-yos are used, one per hand. Loop and wrap tricks can be performed.

[0006] Even though the yo-yo is very popular and enjoyed, one disadvantage is that it is a very old game that everyone knows and is no longer as exciting.

[0007] Therefore, the task is to provide a new game that is played similarly to Yo-Yo and at the same time is played with new movements so that it is exciting for the players.

[0008] This object is achieved by a toy for one-handed movement according to the independent claim. Advantageous aspects relate to the subject matter of the respective subclaims.

[0009] The invention relates to a toy for movement with one hand, which toy comprises two connected disc elements. An elastic spring is arranged with a first spring end directly or indirectly on a disc element. A cord for holding with the hand is arranged at a second spring end. The spring is designed such that when a tensile force acts on the end of the cord held in the hand, the distance between a stop point of the cord on the hand and the first spring end is increased. When the hand moves in a circle with the end of the cord held in the hand, a tensile force is applied to the spring, so that the distance between a stop point of the cord on the hand and the first spring end is increased. This results in a larger circular path of the toy around the circling hand. This is fun and looks cool. This creates a new toy similar to a yo-yo, but unlike a yo-yo, the hand moves in a circular motion. This results in a different handling, which the player finds exciting.

[0010] According to an advantageous aspect of the invention, the disc elements are aligned plane-parallel to one another. The disc elements can be flat or curved with a round outer periphery.

[0011] Another advantageous aspect provides for the disc elements to have a diameter of 2 cm to 10 cm. A preferred range for handling is between 4 cm and 8 cm.

[0012] Particularly preferred is a coil spring. The elastic spring can be stretched or tensioned either linearly in the longitudinal direction or by a rotational movement. In the variant in which the elastic spring is stretched linearly in the longitudinal direction, this can also be achieved by an elastic section in the cord.

[0013] Advantageously, the coil spring is a flat coil spring wound around a central bar. The flat coil spring can be set in a rotating motion around the central bar to tension itself. This design is advantageous with regard to the balance of the discs during the circular movement around the hand.

[0014] Preferably, the flat coil spring is mounted so that it can rotate around the center bar. For this purpose, the coil spring can be wound around the center bar with the first spring end.

[0015] According to a further advantageous technical aspect, the flat spiral spring is attached to the center bar via a ball bearing. The ball bearing can be connected to the first spring end. The ball bearing reduces the friction of the movement of the spring relative to the disc elements or the center bar.

[0016] The string is advantageously between 15 and 25 cm long. This makes it slightly shorter than a yo-yo's because the movement doesn't depend on the string length, as the length of the spring changes during movement.

[0017] Furthermore, a finger loop is preferred at the outer end of the cord.

[0018] According to a further preferred technical aspect, the restoring force of the elastic spring is selected such that the length of the spring increases depending on the strength of the tensile force acting on the outer end of the cord or the center bar. Thus, the extension of the spring is greater at the beginning of the movement than after the initial swing, so that equilibrium is quickly established.

[0019] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to drawings.

[0020] It shows Fig. 1 is a schematic drawing of a toy according to the invention for movement with one hand in a sectional view from above; Fig. 2 is a schematic drawing of a toy according to the invention for movement with one hand in a side view; and Fig. 3 a detailed view of the elastic spring with the cord.

[0021] In Fig. Figure 1 shows the toy 1 according to the invention in a sectional view from above, so that the upper disc element is not visible. The toy 1 is moved with a hand 10 by attaching it to the finger (as part of a hand).

[0022] The toy 1 has two connected disc elements 2, with only the lower disc element 2 visible in the sectional view. Disc element 2 has spiral-shaped, outward-running decorations that technically have no effect.

[0023] In the toy 1, an elastic spring 4 with a first spring end 41 is arranged indirectly via a central web 3 on a disc element 2.

[0024] A cord 5 is arranged at a second spring end 42 for holding with the hand 10. The cord 5 has a length in the range of 15 to 25 cm. The cord 5 can be guided with a first cord end 52 through an eyelet at the second spring end 42. The elastic spring 4 is tensioned when a tensile force acts due to a movement of the hand 10 with the cord end 51 held in the hand. This increases the distance between a holding point of the cord 5 on the hand 10 and the first spring end 41. A finger loop 6 is provided at the outer cord end 51.

[0025] The disc elements 2 have a diameter in the range of 2 cm to 10 cm.

[0026] In the example shown, the elastic spring 4 is a spiral spring in the form of a flat spiral spring. A flat spiral spring runs in a spiral path from an inner attachment point of the first spring end 41 to its outer end. The flat spiral spring 4 is wound around the central web 3. The flat spiral spring 4 is rotatably mounted around the central web 3.

[0027] The flat spiral spring 4 can also be attached to the central web 3 via a ball bearing.

[0028] The restoring force of the elastic spring 4 is such that the length of the spring 41 increases depending on the strength of a tensile force acting on the outer cord end 51 or the central web 3.

[0029] In Fig. 2 schematic drawing of the toy for movement with one hand from Fig. 1 in a side view.

[0030] The toy 1 has two connected disc elements 2, with an upper and a lower disc element 2 visible in this view. In the example shown, the disc elements 2 are aligned plane-parallel to each other. A cylindrical central web 3 is arranged between the disc elements 2. The central web 3 can be designed as a metal rod extending between two plastic disc elements 2.

[0031] A cord 5 is arranged at a second outer spring end of the spring 4 for holding by hand (not shown). The cord 5 can be guided with a first cord end 52 through an eyelet at the second spring end 42. The elastic spring 4 is tensioned when a tensile force is applied due to a movement of the hand with the finger loop 6 of the cord end 51 held in the hand.

[0032] In Fig. 3 shows a detailed view of the elastic spring 4 with the cord 5. QUOTES CONTAINED IN THE DESCRIPTION
