Description

Technical area

[0001] The invention relates to a method and a device for container transport. Technical background

[0002] In filling and packaging plants, containers are transported on clearly defined conveyor tracks through the individual plant components and are then filled and sealed.

[0003] Traditionally, the transfer of containers between the filler carousel and the capper can be problematic, especially with high-performance machines. The filled, unsealed container leaves the filler carousel via a discharge star. From the discharge star, the container is transferred directly to the capper. At the two transfer points of the discharge star, the container experiences a change in acceleration and a subsequent change in direction. This can lead to unintentional spillage of the liquid from the container.

[0004] DE 10 2021 119 385 A1 relates to a container processing system for processing containers. The container processing system comprises a planar drive system comprising a base element and a plurality of transport movement devices. The plurality of transport movement devices are movable independently of one another relative to the base element by means of magnetic interaction between the base element and the plurality of transport movement devices for transporting the containers from the filling device to the closing device.

[0005] The invention is based on the object of creating an improved technology for preventing contents from spilling out of a container, preferably when the container is transferred to a container treatment device, such as a closing device. Summary of the invention

[0006] The problem is solved by the features of the independent claims. Advantageous further developments are specified in the dependent claims and the description.

[0007] One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a method for container transport (e.g., in a container treatment plant), preferably by means of a container transport device as disclosed herein. The method comprises transporting (at least) one container filled with a (e.g., liquid or pasty) filling material (e.g., an unsealed or opened container) by means of (at least) one movement device of a container conveyor, wherein the movement device is driven by magnetic interaction with a stator. During transport, the movement device is moved at least in sections with a predetermined movement profile such that the filling material (and its filling material level / liquid level) in the container is excited (or subjected) to a rotational movement and preferably rotates (e.g., such that a wave crest of a filling material level of the filling material rotates around a vertical axis of the container).

[0008] The rotational movement of the filling material or the filling material level can advantageously be used to counteract spillage of the filling material during sudden changes in direction and acceleration during transfer of the container, e.g. to a capper. The rotational movement of the filling material or the filling material level can advantageously be controlled such that during transfer, a wave crest of the liquid level is in an optimal position to execute a change in direction and, if necessary, a change in acceleration without the filling material spilling out of the container. Alternatively or additionally, it is also advantageously possible for the rotational movement to be used to mix or homogenize the filling material in the container. Other applications in which the rotational movement of the filling material can be advantageous are also conceivable.

[0009] In one embodiment, the rotational movement of the filling material rotates around a central vertical axis of the container.

[0010] In a further embodiment, the rotational movement of the filling material is caused by a predetermined rocking of the filling material (e.g. rolling around a central vertical axis of the container).

[0011] In one embodiment, the predetermined movement profile comprises a combination of coordinated accelerations, decelerations and / or tilting movements of the movement device for stimulating the rotational movement.

[0012] In a further embodiment, the predetermined movement profile comprises: - a first movement profile section, in which the movement device tilts together with the container to a first side during movement in a transport direction, preferably transversely to the transport direction of the movement device; and - a second movement profile section which adjoins the first movement profile section and in which the movement device is accelerated and decelerated together with the container during the advancement of one of.

[0013] In one embodiment, the specified movement profile also includes: - a third movement profile section, which adjoins the second movement profile section and in which the movement device tilts together with the container to a second side, which is opposite to the first side, during the movement; and - a fourth movement profile section, which adjoins the third movement profile section and in which the movement device is accelerated and decelerated together with the container during the movement of the other.

[0014] In a further embodiment, the method further comprises transferring the container filled with the contents by means of the movement device to at least one rotary device on the outlet side, preferably a transfer star and / or rotary closing device for closing the container while the rotary movement of the contents stops. Advantageously, the rotary movement can thus be used to counteract any spillage of the contents during transfer.

[0015] In one embodiment, a direction of rotation of the filling material and a direction of rotation of the outlet-side rotary device coincide with one another. It is also possible for a direction of rotation of the filling material and a direction of rotation of the outlet-side rotary device to be opposite to one another. Alternatively or additionally, the rotation of the filling material counteracts any rocking of the filling material in the container when the container changes direction in the outlet-side rotary device. For example, a wave crest of a liquid level during the rotational movement can be positioned on a side / front of the container facing in the transport direction during the transfer in order to counteract the rocking during the transfer. Instead of the rocking, the acceleration acting on the filling material during the transfer can preferably support the rotational movement.

[0016] As mentioned, it is possible that the direction of rotation of the filling material and the direction of rotation of the outlet-side rotary device coincide or are opposite to each other. The position of the filling level (e.g., the position of the wave crest or the position of the wave trough) can then determine the transfer point. It may be important here that the direction of centrifugal force of the outlet-side rotary device supports the rotation of the filling level to prevent rocking.

[0017] In a further embodiment, the method further comprises taking over the container filled with the filling material by means of the movement device from an inlet-side rotary device, preferably a transfer star or rotary filling device for filling the container with the filling material.

[0018] In one embodiment, the movement device is guided by a guide track during transport. For example, the guide track can be twisted in sections to at least partially specify the movement profile, preferably with a first section that is twisted in a first direction and a second section that is arranged downstream (of the container) of the first section and that is twisted in a second direction opposite to the first direction. This advantageously allows for mechanical control of lateral tilting of the movement device and thus of the transported container.

[0019] In a further embodiment, the movement device and the stator together form a long stator linear motor drive system or a short stator linear motor drive system or a planar motor drive system.

[0020] A further aspect of the present disclosure relates to a device for container transport (e.g., for a container treatment plant). The device comprises a container conveyor with a stator and at least one movement device designed to transport a container, wherein the at least one movement device can be driven by means of magnetic interaction with the stator. The container conveyor further comprises a control device designed to move the movement device during transport with a predetermined movement profile, at least in sections, such that a filling material in the container is excited (or subjected) to a rotational movement. Advantageously, the device can achieve the same advantages as have already been described with reference to the method.

[0021] Preferably, the term "control device" can refer to electronics (e.g., implemented as a driver circuit or with microprocessor(s) and data memory) and / or a mechanical, pneumatic, and / or hydraulic control system, which, depending on its design, can perform control tasks and / or regulation tasks and / or processing tasks. Even if the term "control" is used herein, it can also appropriately include or mean "regulation" or "control with feedback" and / or "processing."

[0022] Preferably, the control device may be configured to operate the container conveyor to carry out a method for container transport as disclosed herein.

[0023] In one embodiment, the control device has a (physical) guideway on which the at least one movement device is guided and which is twisted in sections to at least partially specify the movement path, preferably with: - a first section which is twisted in a first direction, and - a second section arranged downstream of the first section and twisted in a second direction opposite to the first direction.

[0024] In a further embodiment, the predetermined movement profile comprises: - a first movement profile section in which the at least one movement device tilts together with the container to a first side during movement in a transport direction, preferably transversely to the transport direction of the at least one movement device; and - a second movement profile section, which adjoins the first movement profile section and in which the at least one movement device is accelerated and decelerated together with the container during the advancement of one of; and optionally - a third movement profile section, which adjoins the second movement profile section and in which the at least one movement device tilts together with the container to a second side, which is opposite to the first side, during the movement; and optionally - a fourth movement profile section which adjoins the third movement profile section and in which the at least one movement device is accelerated and decelerated together with the container during the movement of the other.

[0025] In one embodiment, at least one of: - the specified movement profile causes the rotational movement of the filling material to rotate around a central vertical axis of the container; - the predetermined movement profile causes the rotational movement of the filling material to be stimulated by a predetermined rocking of the filling material (e.g. rolling around a central vertical axis of the container); - the predetermined movement profile comprises a combination of coordinated accelerations, decelerations and / or tilting movements of the at least one movement device for stimulating the rotational movement; - the device further comprises an output-side rotary device, preferably a transfer star or rotary closing device for closing the container, which is arranged to take over the container from the at least one movement device (e.g. while the rotational movement of the filling material stops), wherein preferably a direction of rotation of the rotational movement of the filling material and a direction of rotation of the output-side rotary device coincide with each other; - the device further comprises an inlet-side rotary device, preferably a transfer star or rotary filling device for filling the container with the filling material, which is arranged to transfer the container to the at least one moving device; and - the at least one movement device and the stator together form a long stator linear motor drive system or a short stator linear motor drive system or a planar motor drive system.

[0026] Preferably, the method can be applied in a container treatment plant, or the device can be included in a container treatment plant. The container treatment plant can be designed, for example, for manufacturing, cleaning, coating, testing, filling, sealing, labeling, printing, and / or packaging containers for liquid media, preferably beverages or liquid foodstuffs.

[0027] For example, the containers can be designed as bottles, cans, canisters, cartons, flacons, tubes, etc.

[0028] The previously described preferred embodiments and features of the invention can be combined with one another as desired. Short description of the characters

[0029] Further details and advantages of the invention are described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. They show: Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of a device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure; Fig. 2 a schematic representation of tilting movements of an exemplary movement profile of a movement device of a container conveyor of the exemplary device; and Fig. 3 a speed-distance diagram (vs-diagram) with a schematic representation of a speed curve of a movement profile of a movement device of a container conveyor of the exemplary device. Detailed description of exemplary embodiments

[0030] The Fig. 1 shows a device 10. The device 10 can transport containers 12. Preferably, the device 10 is part of a container treatment plant.

[0031] The device 10 has a container conveyor 18. The device 10 may further have a container handling device 14 and / or a container handling device 16.

[0032] The container treatment device 14 can, for example, comprise a filling device for filling containers 12 with a (e.g., liquid or pasty) filling material and / or a transfer star. The filling device and / or the transfer star can be arranged upstream of the container conveyor 18 with respect to a container flow, e.g., directly upstream thereof. It is also possible for the transfer star to connect the filling device and the container conveyor 18 to one another.

[0033] For example, the filling device can be designed as a rotary filling device or a filling carousel. The filling device can have multiple filling stations for the simultaneous or temporally overlapping filling of multiple containers 12. The filling stations can be arranged distributed around a circumference of the rotary filling device.

[0034] The container treatment device 16 can, for example, have a closing device and / or a transfer star. The closing device and / or the transfer star can be arranged downstream of the container conveyor 18 with respect to a container flow, e.g., directly downstream thereof. It is also possible for the transfer star to connect the container conveyor 18 and the closing device to one another.

[0035] The closing device can close the containers 12, e.g., with a lid, a cork, a crown cap, or a screw cap. The closing device can preferably be designed as a rotary closing device or a closing carousel. The closing device can have multiple closing stations for the simultaneous or temporally overlapping closing of multiple containers 12. For example, the closing stations can be distributed around a circumference of the rotary closing device.

[0036] The container conveyor 18 can connect the container treatment device 14 and the container treatment device 16. The container conveyor 18 can have a straight or curved path.

[0037] The container conveyor 18 has at least one moving device (mover or shuttle) 20 and a stator 22. Preferably, the container conveyor 18 has a plurality of moving devices 20. Preferably, the plurality of moving devices 20 can be driven and moved independently of one another.

[0038] The at least one movement device 20 can be driven by means of magnetic interaction with the stator 22. Preferably, the plurality of movement devices 20 can be driven independently of one another by means of magnetic interaction with the stator 22.

[0039] Preferably, the container conveyor 18 can be designed as a long stator linear motor conveyor, as in Fig. 1. The at least one movement device 20 and the stator 22 can together form a long-stator linear motor drive system. The stator 22 can be designed as a stationary long stator with electromagnets for effecting a movement or drive of the at least one movement device 20 equipped with permanent magnets. The long stator can be formed from a plurality of long stator segments arranged in series.

[0040] However, it is also possible that the container conveyor 18 is, for example, a short stator linear motor conveyor or a planar motor conveyor.

[0041] In the short stator linear motor conveyor, the at least one movement device 20 and the stator 22 can together form a short stator linear motor drive system (not in Fig. 1). The at least one movement device 20 can have a short stator formed by electromagnets, which can enter into magnetic interaction with stationary permanent magnets of the stator 22 to drive the at least one movement device 20.

[0042] The planar motor conveyor can have at least one movement device 20 with at least two degrees of freedom (x-direction and y-direction) over a preferably planar drive surface of the stator 22 by means of magnetic interaction with the stator 22 (not in Fig. 1). The at least one movement device 20 and the stator 22 can together form a planar motor drive system. The stator 22 can also be referred to as a platform or base element. It is also possible for a lifting movement (z-direction) and / or a tilting movement of the at least one movement device 20 relative to the drive surface to be controllable by means of the magnetic interaction. The drive surface can preferably be oriented horizontally or vertically.

[0043] The at least one movement device 20 can be guided along a, preferably circumferential, guideway 24. The guideway 24 can be, for example, a track or a slideway. It is also possible for the container conveyor 18 to have no guideway, e.g., when the container conveyor 18 is designed as a planar motor container conveyor.

[0044] If present, the guide track 24 can be twisted (helical or wound) in sections. Preferably, the guide track 24 is twisted (helical or wound) in sections and successively in opposite directions. For example, the guide track 24 can have a first section 24A and a second section 24B and optionally further sections that can be twisted. The first section 24A can be twisted in a first direction. The second section 24B can be arranged downstream of the first section 24A with respect to the container flow. The second section 24B can be twisted in a second direction that is oriented opposite to the first direction.

[0045] For example, the at least one movement device 20 can have at least one guide element 26 that is (physically) guided along the guide track 24 and its sections 24A, 24B. The guide element 26 can be, for example, a roller or a sliding block. It is possible for the at least one movement device 20 to be supported on the guide track 24 by means of the respective guide element(s) 26.

[0046] The at least one movement device 20 is designed to transport a container 12. For example, the at least one movement device 20 can comprise a support plate on which a container 12 can stand upright. Alternatively or additionally, the at least one movement device 20 can comprise a clamp or gripper that can hold a container 12 by its shell, neck, and / or neck ring.

[0047] When transporting the container 12 filled with a filling material, the at least one movement device 20 is moved with a predetermined movement profile in such a way that the filling material in the container 12 is stimulated to rotate.

[0048] The rotational movement of the contents preferably rotates around a central vertical axis of the container 12. The rotational movement of the contents is preferably achieved by a targeted rocking of the contents. The direction of rotation of the contents and the direction of rotation of the container treatment device 16 preferably coincide.

[0049] A control device (generally designated by reference numeral 28 in Fig. 1) can control the at least one movement device 20 to move according to the predetermined movement profile. The control device 28 can have an electronic control, e.g., for controlling the stator 22, and / or a mechanical control, e.g., having the twisted sections 24A and 24B.

[0050] The movement profile specified for initiating and maintaining the rotational movement can comprise a combination of coordinated accelerations, decelerations and / or tilting movements of the at least one movement device 20 and thus of the transported container 12.

[0051] This is illustrated below by way of example with reference to the Fig. 1 to 3. The Fig. 2 shows a rear view (viewing direction in the transport direction T) of the at least one movement device 20 at different points along the transport path or along the guide track 24. The Fig. 3 shows a speed curve of the at least one movement device 20 along the transport path or along the guide track 24.

[0052] As in the Fig. 1 to 3, the specified movement profile can have several movement profile sections I to IV.

[0053] In a first movement profile section I, the at least one movement device 20 can tilt (roll / sway) to a first side while moving in a transport direction T together with the container 12, preferably transversely to the transport direction T of the at least one movement device 20. With respect to the transport direction T or forward movement direction of the at least one movement device 20, the lateral tilting can be a rolling / swaying of the at least one movement device 20.

[0054] The first movement profile section I can, for example, be effected by the first section 24A of the guide track 24. Alternatively, a tilting (inclination) of the at least one movement device 20 can be effected, for example, by magnetic interaction between the at least one movement device 20 and the stator 22, e.g., when the container conveyor 18 is designed as a planar motor container conveyor.

[0055] The tilting movement in the first movement profile section I can occur transversely to or around the transport direction T. For example, the at least one movement device 20 can tilt by up to 5°, up to 10°, up to 20°, up to 30°, or up to 40° relative to an upright or upright orientation of the at least one movement device 20 or the container 12.

[0056] The second motion profile section II can be connected to the first motion profile section I. In the second motion profile section II, the at least one motion device 20 can be decelerated (or accelerated) together with the container 12 during its movement. This can preferably be achieved by magnetic interaction between the at least one motion device 20 and the stator 22.

[0057] In the second movement profile section II, the at least one movement device 20 can preferably be oriented upright together with the container 12 or can be re-erected starting from the tilting movement from the first movement profile section I, e.g., by the guide track 24 or magnetic interaction with the stator 22.

[0058] The third movement profile section III can adjoin the second movement profile section II. In the third movement profile section III, the at least one movement device 20 can tilt (roll / sway) to a second side while moving in a transport direction T together with the container 12, preferably transversely to the transport direction T and opposite to the first side or the tilting movement in the first movement profile section I. With respect to the transport direction T or forward movement direction of the at least one movement device 20, the lateral tilting can be a rolling / swaying of the at least one movement device 20.

[0059] The third movement profile section III can be effected, for example, by the second section 24B of the guide track 24. Alternatively, a tilting (inclination) of the at least one movement device 20 can be effected, for example, by magnetic interaction between the at least one movement device 20 and the stator 22, e.g., when the container conveyor 18 is designed as a planar motor container conveyor.

[0060] The tilting movement in the third movement profile section III can occur transversely to or around the transport direction T. For example, the at least one movement device 20 can tilt by up to 5°, up to 10°, up to 20°, up to 30°, or up to 40° relative to an upright or upright orientation of the at least one movement device 20 or the container 12.

[0061] The fourth motion profile section IV can connect to the third motion profile section III. In the fourth motion profile section IV, the at least one motion device 20 can be accelerated (or decelerated) together with the container 12 during its movement. This can preferably be achieved by magnetic interaction between the at least one motion device 20 and the stator 22. In the fourth motion profile section IV, the at least one motion device 20 can be oriented upright together with the container 12 or can be re-erected starting from the tilting movement from the third motion profile section III, e.g., by the guide track 24 or magnetic interaction with the stator 22.

[0062] The sequence of movement profile sections I to IV can stimulate a rotational movement of the filling material in the container 12. For example, a filling level of the filling material in the first movement profile section I can initially be directed to a first side (e.g., to the right in the rear view of Fig. 2). In the second movement profile section II, the filling level of the filling material can be deflected from the first side to the front (or back) with respect to the transport direction T. In the third movement profile section III, the filling level of the filling material can be deflected from the front (or back) to a second side (e.g. to the left in the rear view of Fig. 2), opposite to the first side. In the fourth movement profile section IV, the filling level of the product can be deflected backward (or forward) relative to the transport direction T, starting from the second side.

[0063] Sections I and II, or III and IV, may also overlap or form smooth transitions.

[0064] The invention is not limited to the preferred embodiments described above. Rather, a multitude of variants and modifications are possible which also make use of the inventive concept and therefore fall within the scope of protection. In particular, the invention also claims protection for the subject matter and features of the subclaims, independent of the claims referred to.
