Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a watch strap and a wristwatch with such a watch strap.

[0002] The use of wristwatches has long been known. A wristwatch is a small timepiece worn on a person's wrist or forearm by means of a bracelet or similar device. The bracelet may also be referred to as a watch strap.

[0003] Wristwatches thus enable the wearer or user to carry a timepiece easily, conveniently, and quickly accessible and readable, ensuring the current time is always available. However, wristwatches are also used for aesthetic purposes, similar to a piece of jewelry or an accessory, and are therefore visually appealing and technically of particularly high quality.

[0004] Today, wristwatches are also known as mobile devices. Such wristwatches, also known as smartwatches, are derived from the mobile devices found in mobile phones or smartphones. Smartwatches can be operated and used as standalone mobile devices or in conjunction with a smartphone belonging to the same user. Since a smartwatch is not held in the user's hand but worn on the body, smartwatches are considered "wearables."

[0005] Smartwatches are electronic wristwatches that typically feature additional sensors, actuators such as a vibration motor, and computer functionality and connectivity. A defining characteristic of smartwatches is that they are not only used as timekeeping devices but can also output additional information, particularly on a display, and typically also have additional functions in the form of computer programs, also known as "apps."

[0006] To be worn on the wrist or forearm of a person, wristwatches are fitted with a strap that can be fastened around the wrist or forearm. A watch strap or watch band is a bracelet that allows a person to wear a watch on their wrist. Common materials for watch straps include leather, metal, rubber, or plastic.

[0007] Functionally, a watch strap essentially consists of two separate parts or elements, each of which is connected to the watch at one end and to the other at the opposite end. By connecting the two watch strap parts together, the watch strap can be fastened around the wrist or forearm, and then unfastened and unfastened there to allow the watch to be put on or taken off.

[0008] To close or connect the two watch strap parts, a buckle is usually used. The buckle has a bracket with a movable pin on the end facing away from the wristwatch. This movable pin is arranged on the watch strap part that acts as the closing part of the buckle or watch strap. The end of the other watch strap part facing away from the wristwatch is guided through the bracket of the closing part. Along this direction of movement, the other end of the other watch strap part has a plurality of holes or through-openings, each of which accommodates the pin of the closing part or can be penetrated by the pin of the closing part. The second or this watch strap part can accordingly be referred to as a hole part. Because the pin of the closing part penetrates or pushes through the hole part, the buckle can also be referred to as a pin buckle or pin buckle. In this configuration, the pin is held down by pulling along the longitudinal extension of the closed watch strap, firmly connecting the two watch strap parts. The clasp and pin are usually made of metal. In any case, this creates a secure, positive connection between the two watch strap parts, allowing the watch to be held securely on the wrist or forearm.

[0009] With buckles of this type used as watch straps, it is customary to provide at least one loop on the clasp along the elongated direction of the clasp between the buckle and the wristwatch. This loop extends continuously around the clasp perpendicular to the elongated direction of the clasp and is movable or displaceable along the elongated direction of the clasp. Thus, with the buckle closed, the user can place the open end of the hole part of the watch strap flat on the side of the clasp of the watch strap facing away from the wrist or forearm and then guide the loop over the open end of the hole part to hold the open end of the hole part to the clasp. This can increase the comfort of wearing the wristwatch for the person, since an outward-protruding open end of the hole part of the watch strap could be perceived as tactilely and visually annoying.

[0010] One object of the present invention is to provide a watch strap of the type described above in order to improve the haptic and / or visual experience of wearing the corresponding wristwatch for the person or wearer. In particular, the open end of one watch strap part should be prevented from protruding from the other underlying watch strap part. This should be implemented as simply, compactly, securely, visually appealing, with a wide range of options, user-friendly, and / or cost-effectively as possible. In any case, an alternative to the known possibilities should be created.

[0011] The object is achieved according to the invention by a watch strap and a wristwatch having the features of the independent claims. Advantageous further developments are described in the subclaims.

[0012] Thus, the present invention relates to a watch strap having a first watch strap part with a connecting end and with an open end and having a second watch strap part with a connecting end and with an open end, which are designed to be connected to a wristwatch with their connecting ends and to one another with their open ends.

[0013] The watch strap according to the invention is characterized in that at least the first watch strap part has at least one opening, preferably a through opening, and at least the second watch strap part has at least one locking element which is designed and arranged to lock into the opening, preferably the through opening, of the first watch strap part.

[0014] In other words, the user or wearer of a wristwatch with a watch strap according to the invention can fasten the second watch strap part, which is preferably the outer or external watch strap part, to the first watch strap part, which is preferably the inner or internal watch strap part, by means of a locking mechanism.

[0015] In the case where the first watch strap part has a pin buckle, meaning the open end of the second watch strap part can protrude from the first watch strap part when closed, the user can easily, quickly, and securely attach the open end of the second watch strap part to the first watch strap part using the locking mechanism and hold it there, preventing it from protruding from the first watch strap part, which could be tactilely and / or visually disturbing. This can thus improve the feel and comfort of the watch, as well as the visual impression it gives the user.

[0016] Alternatively, the locking mechanism can also be used to connect the second watch strap part to the first watch strap part and thereby close it, without the need for a pin buckle or any other additional connecting mechanism. This means that the two watch strap parts can be connected and closed solely by the locking mechanism. The first watch strap part can be arranged on the inside and the second watch strap part on the outside, so that the user can press the locking element of the second watch strap part into the opening in the first watch strap part from the outside. However, the first watch strap part can also be arranged on the outside and the second watch strap part on the inside, so that the user can press the opening of the first watch strap part onto the locking element of the second watch strap part from the outside. In both cases, the inner watch strap part can be pulled away from the wrist orbe supported by the user's forearm, which can simplify closing and locking for the user. In any case, this method can also create a haptically and / or visually improved connection for a watch strap. This can be achieved in a relatively simple, cost-effective, compact, and intuitive manner.

[0017] In any case, the locking action can be achieved by positive locking, in particular by engaging behind, and / or non-positive locking, in particular by spring force, through the interaction of the locking element and the opening. For this purpose, the opening can be formed sufficiently deep into the first watch strap part to achieve a positive locking and / or non-positive locking with the locking element of the second watch strap part. For this purpose, an opening in the form of a recess in the first watch strap part may be sufficient.

[0018] For this purpose, the opening can preferably be designed as a through-opening through the first watch strap part, which can increase the design options for the connection and / or improve the holding force and / or durability of the locked connection. In particular, a spring-elastic through-opening can be penetrated by a rigid locking element and positively engaged from behind from the back, which can represent a simple and effective implementation option. If, in this state, a spring-elastic holding force is also exerted by the correspondingly narrowly dimensioned through-opening on a corresponding section of the rigid locking element, a frictional connection can be easily added, which can increase the durability and load-bearing capacity of the connection.

[0019] In any case, the locking mechanism can be particularly easy, quick, and / or intuitive for the user to close and reopen by pulling, which can increase the wearing comfort and convenience of the respective watch. This can be achieved, in particular, by eliminating the need for moving parts to connect the two watch strap parts.

[0020] In any case, the locking mechanism can also be designed to be unobtrusive on the outside, i.e. facing away from the forearm or wrist, due to its simplicity and the minimal parts required for the locking element, in particular due to the lack of moving parts of the locking mechanism, and in particular to be flush with the outward-facing surface of the corresponding watch strap, which can improve the feel and / or appearance accordingly. This also applies to the inside, i.e. side facing the forearm or wrist, of the locking mechanism with regard to the feel, which can be felt by the user on the skin when using the wristwatch with the watch strap according to the invention and is therefore particularly important for wearing comfort and the feel during use.

[0021] According to one aspect of the invention, the locking element is arranged at the open end of the second watch strap part. As previously described, this can, in particular, prevent the second watch strap part from protruding from the first watch strap part, both when using a pin buckle and when using the locking mechanism as the sole connecting element of the watch strap according to the invention.

[0022] According to a further aspect of the invention, the first watch strap part has a plurality of openings arranged at equal distances from one another along the longitudinal direction of extension. This allows the watch strap, when closed, to be adjusted relatively flexibly, i.e., in discrete steps corresponding to the spacing or pitch of the openings, to the diameter or circumference of the forearm or wrist of the user wearing a corresponding wristwatch. Arranging the openings at equal distances from one another can simplify implementation.

[0023] According to a further aspect of the invention, the second watch strap part also has at least one opening, preferably a through-opening, and the first watch strap part also has at least one locking element, which is designed and arranged to lock into the opening, preferably the through-opening, of the second watch strap part. As a result, a pin buckle or the like can be dispensed with and only the locking mechanism, as described above, can be used twice to close the watch strap according to the invention. This can improve the durability and resilience of a watch strap closed or connected in this way. The properties and advantages of the locking mechanism can be implemented and utilized twice.

[0024] According to a further aspect of the invention, the locking element is arranged at the open end of the first watch strap part. This can enable the application of the corresponding previously described features of the second watch strap to the first watch strap.

[0025] According to a further aspect of the invention, the second watch strap part has a plurality of openings that are arranged at equal distances from one another along the longitudinal direction of extension. This can enable the application of the corresponding previously described features of the first watch strap to the second watch strap.

[0026] According to a further aspect of the invention, the openings of the first watch strap part as the inner watch strap part are at a first distance from one another, the openings of the second watch strap part as the outer watch strap part are at a second distance from one another and the first distance between the openings of the first watch strap part is smaller than the second distance between the openings of the second watch strap part. This makes it possible to adjust the distance between the openings of the first, inner watch strap part compared to the distance between the openings of the second, outer watch strap part in such a way that the openings lie as precisely as possible radially one above the other during use, i.e. when the two watch straps protrude one above the other around the wrist or forearm of the user. This can make it possible, depending on the diameter of the wrist orThe watch strap can be closed at different points on the watch strap parts of the user's forearm and thus adapted to the anatomy of the respective user, so that the two watch strap parts of the closed watch strap lie on top of each other as precisely, flatly, and without any noticeable or disturbing radial gap. This can also improve the feel and / or appearance when using the watch strap according to the invention.

[0027] According to a further aspect of the invention, the first distance between the openings of the first watch strap part is smaller than the second distance between the openings of the second watch strap part by a factor corresponding to the factor of the diameters relative to each other by which the two watch strap parts extend when connected during use. This can represent a concrete possibility for implementing the previously described properties and advantages.

[0028] According to a further aspect of the invention, the opening of the first watch strap part and the opening of the second watch strap part closest to the respective connecting end are arranged equidistant from the connecting end of the respective watch strap part. Due to the symmetry of the respective first openings relative to the wristwatch, this can improve the visual impression for the user, particularly when the user looks at the respective wristwatch and also sees the two connecting ends of the watch strap parts.

[0029] According to a further aspect of the invention, the locking element and the two watch strap parts are designed such that the locking element can be held in the same way but in opposite orientations on both watch strap parts. In other words, the locking element or two identically designed locking elements can be used and attached identically to each of the two watch strap parts. The orientation can also be reversed or reversed, depending on the direction in which the locking mechanism is to operate. This can minimize design effort. It can also keep costs low by using the locking element as an identical component for both watch strap parts.

[0030] According to a further aspect of the invention, the first watch strap part is designed to be sufficiently resilient at least around the opening, preferably completely, and / or the second watch strap part at least around the opening, preferably completely, so that the locking element can resiliently expand the opening of the first watch strap part, preferably and / or the opening of the second watch strap part, and can be held in a form-fitting manner. This can enable a concrete possibility for implementing the previously described properties and advantages of the watch strap according to the invention.

[0031] According to a further aspect of the invention, the opening of the first watch strap part is a through-opening, preferably and the opening of the second watch strap part is a through-opening, and the locking element has at least: • a locking body with a receiving section extending from the second watch strap part, preferably or from the first watch strap part, which ends with a radial projection towards the first watch strap part, preferably or towards the second watch strap part, and • a holding element which is connected to the locking body from the side opposite the receiving section of the locking body, preferably by means of a projection of the holding element with a receptacle of the locking body, and holds the locking body on the second watch strap part, preferably or on the first watch strap part, wherein the radial projection of the locking body of the locking element is designed to engage behind the through-opening of the first watch strap part, preferably and / or the through-opening of the second watch strap part.

[0032] This can represent a concrete possibility for implementing a locking mechanism with a positive-locking hold of the radial projection of the locking body of the locking element behind the corresponding through-hole in the first watch strap part. The locking element is held from behind on the first watch strap part by means of its retaining element along the effective direction or pulling direction of the positive lock. This can represent a simple but effective implementation.

[0033] In particular, the locking body and retaining element of the locking element can be attached to both sides, i.e., each from the outside, of the first watch strap part and then connected, in particular riveted, through a corresponding locking element receptacle of the first watch strap part. This can be both simple and quick to manufacture and securely retained. The locking element can also be mounted in this way in both directions relative to the watch strap part, which increases flexibility of use and can save effort and components by using the locking element in both directions or on both watch strap parts, as previously described.

[0034] According to a further aspect of the invention, the locking element further comprises a connecting element which is arranged between the locking body and the holding element, wherein the connecting element has a radial projection which is received and held at least in a form-fitting manner by a corresponding widening of the locking receptacle of the second watch strap part, preferably or by a corresponding widening of the locking receptacle of the first watch strap part. The connecting element can thus be held in a form-fitting manner within the respective watch strap part, which can further increase the durability of the connection. The outwardly visible part of the locking element or its connection mechanism to the watch strap can also be kept small, which can improve the feel and / or appearance for the user. Furthermore, this can also be done in both directions of the watch strap parts, which likewise increases or improves the flexibility of use.Effort and components can be saved by using the locking element in both directions or on both watch strap parts, as previously described.

[0035] According to a further aspect of the invention, the locking element is designed to be sufficiently resilient, at least in sections, preferably a radial projection of a locking body of the locking element, so that the locking element can be resiliently compressed and held in a form-fitting manner by the opening of the first watch strap part, preferably and / or by the opening of the second watch strap part. This can enable a concrete possibility for implementing the previously described properties and advantages of the watch strap according to the invention.

[0036] According to a further aspect of the invention, the first watch strap part and the second watch strap part are designed such that, during use, the first watch strap part is arranged inside the second watch strap part. This can represent a concrete implementation possibility, as already described above.

[0037] The present invention also relates to a wristwatch with a watch strap as described above. In this way, a wristwatch can be provided to implement and utilize the previously described features and advantages of a watch strap according to the invention.

[0038] Several embodiments and further advantages of the invention are illustrated schematically below and explained in more detail in conjunction with the following figures. Fig. 1 a perspective schematic representation of a wristwatch with a known watch strap from an oblique side view; Fig. 2 the known watch strap only in the closed state from above or from the outside; Fig. 3 a perspective schematic representation of a wristwatch according to the invention with a watch strap according to the invention according to a first embodiment, viewed obliquely from above or outside; Fig. 4 the representation of the Fig. 3 diagonally from below, sideways; Fig. 5 the watch strap of the Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 only in the open state arranged side by side from below or from the inside; Fig. 6 a side view of the second watch strap part of the Fig. 5; Fig. 7 a perspective schematic representation of a wristwatch according to the invention with a watch strap according to the invention according to a second embodiment, viewed obliquely from above or outside; Fig. 8 the representation of the Fig. 7 directly from the side; Fig. 9 a detailed view of the open end of the second watch strap part according to the first and second embodiments; Fig. 10 is a sectional view taken along the longitudinal direction of the open end of the second watch strap part according to the first and second embodiments, in a connected state with the first watch strap part; Fig. 11 a sectional view along the longitudinal direction of the Fig. 9 according to the first and second embodiments; Fig. 12 is a sectional view of the open end of the first watch strap part along the longitudinal extension direction according to the second embodiment; Fig. 13 a perspective view of the Fig. 11; Fig. 14 a sectional view of the locking element itself exactly through the center of the locking element; Fig. 15 a plan view of the watch strap parts according to the invention according to a third embodiment side by side; and Fig. 16 the watch strap parts of the Fig. 15 lying on top of each other.

[0039] Wristwatches 4 with watch straps 1, 2 with pin buckle are known, see Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. Such a known watch strap 1, 2 has a first, inner watch strap part 1, which can also be referred to as a clasp part 1. Along its longitudinal extension, the first watch strap part 1 is connected at a connecting end 10 to one side of the wristwatch 4 by means of a transverse pin (not shown). The open end 14 of the first watch strap part 1, opposite along the longitudinal extension, terminates with a bracket 11 and a pin 12 arranged within the bracket 11. Two movable loops 13 are arranged between the connecting end 10 and the bracket 11.

[0040] The second, outer watch strap part 2 also has a connecting end 20 along its longitudinal extension direction, which is connected to the wristwatch 4 in the same way, opposite the connecting end 10 of the first watch strap part 1. An open end 21 of the second watch strap part 2, opposite along the longitudinal extension direction, has a series of openings 22 along the longitudinal extension direction as through openings 22 or as holes 22 of the second watch strap part 2, which correspond to the cross-section of the pin 12 of the first watch strap part 1.

[0041] The yoke 11 of the first watch strap part 1 is sufficiently wide so that the open end 21 of the second watch strap part 2 can be guided through the yoke 11 of the first watch strap part 1 along the longitudinal direction of extension. The position of the two watch strap parts 1, 2 relative to one another along the longitudinal direction of extension can be fixed at discrete intervals, which correspond to a uniform spacing of the holes 22 of the second watch strap part 2, by the engagement of the pin 12 of the first watch strap part 1 in one of the holes 22 of the second watch strap part 2, and thereby the watch strap 1, 2 can be closed around a wrist or forearm of a person as the user or wearer of the wristwatch 4. This type of closure mechanism can be referred to as a pin buckle.

[0042] The protruding open end 21 of the second watch strap part 2 can be guided through the loops 13 of the first watch strap part 1 in order to be held and to prevent it from protruding outwards from the first watch strap part 1, which can be visually and haptically disturbing to the user.

[0043] Such a known pin buckle of a wristwatch 4 or its watch strap 1, 2 represents a not inconsiderable design effort, requiring a correspondingly large number of parts that must be procured, stored, and handled during assembly, resulting in corresponding costs. Operating a pin buckle of a wristwatch 4 or its watch strap 1, 2 with one hand is also quite cumbersome for the user. Furthermore, a pin buckle of a wristwatch 4 or its watch strap 1, 2 is clearly visible from the outside and can be felt or palpated, which can be perceived as annoying by the user.

[0044] This applies at least to the loops 13 of the first watch strap part 1, under which the user must guide the protruding open end 21 of the second watch strap part 2 with one hand. This effort alone may be perceived as annoying or cumbersome by the user. Furthermore, the loops 13 of the first watch strap part 1 alone may be perceived as visually and / or haptically annoying by the user.

[0045] According to the first embodiment of the present invention, in a wristwatch 4 according to the invention with a watch strap 1, 2 according to the invention according to the Fig. 3 to 6, at least the loops 13 of the first watch strap part 1 can be dispensed with by using a locking mechanism instead. For this purpose, the second, outer watch strap part 2 has at its open end 21, in addition to the openings 22, which further serve to receive the pin 12 of the first, inner watch strap part 1, a locking element receptacle 23, which receives a locking element 3, which points inwards, ie facing the first, inner watch strap part 1, forms a circumferential radial projection 30c in the form of a locking hook 30c, see in particular Fig. 6. The concrete design options for the locking element 3 are explained below using the Fig. 9 to 14 are explained in more detail.

[0046] According to the first exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the first, inner watch strap part 1 also has openings 15, through-openings 15 or holes 15 at equal distances from one another along the longitudinal direction of extension, into which the locking element 3 of the second, outer watch strap part 2 can be inserted or pushed through in order to engage behind the first, inner watch strap part 1 on the inside and thus lock it in place.

[0047] In this way, the open end 21 of the second, outer watch strap part 2 can alternatively be used with the known loops 13 of the known wristwatches 4 with watch straps 1, 2 with a pin buckle according to the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 are held by means of the locking mechanism according to the invention on the outside (not designated) of the first, inner watch strap part 1, see for example Fig. 3 and Fig. 4. This can be more convenient for the user to operate, i.e., to attach and detach, which can also be done easily, quickly, and intuitively by pushing or pulling. It can also be constructed in a relatively simple manner, particularly without moving parts, as well as being compact and, above all, flat and flush with the outside, which can improve both appearance and feel.

[0048] According to the second embodiment of the present invention, see Fig. 7 and Fig. 8, can be applied to the known pin buckle of a wristwatch 4 or its watch strap 1, 2 according to the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 can be completely dispensed with, which can avoid corresponding expenditures in terms of design, assembly, and operation on the part of the user. According to the invention, a further previously described locking element 3 can also be arranged at the open end 14 of the first watch strap part 1, then with the locking hook 30c pointing outwards, in a corresponding locking element receptacle 16 of the first watch strap part 1. The holes 22 of the second watch strap part 2 are then designed such that, instead of the pin 12 of the first watch strap part 1, they can now accommodate the locking hook 30c of the locking element 3 of the first watch strap part 1.

[0049] According to a further, not shown embodiment of the present invention, it is also possible according to the invention, in the watch strap 1, 2 according to the invention of the first embodiment according to the Fig. 3 to 6, the pin buckle is dispensed with and the watch strap 1, 2 is connected or closed only by a locking mechanism at the open end 21 of the second, outer watch strap part 2, as described with reference to the first embodiment.

[0050] However, the use of a second locking mechanism at the open end 14 of the first watch strap part 1 according to the second exemplary embodiment can improve the durability of the connection of the closed watch strap 1, 2. In particular, this can be achieved in a haptically and visually unobtrusive manner, since the open end 14 of the first, inner watch strap part 1 is concealed from the outside by the second, outer watch strap part 2, and thus only the locking hook 30c of the locking element 3 of the first, inner watch strap part 1 is visible and, if necessary, palpable from the outside.

[0051] The Fig. 9 to 14 show a possibility for the concrete implementation of the locking element 3 both with regard to the first embodiment according to the Fig. 3 to 6 as well as the second embodiment of the Fig. 7 and Fig. 8.

[0052] In any case, the second, outer watch strap 2 has a passage 23a of the locking receptacle 23 perpendicular to the longitudinal or planar extension direction of the second watch strap part 2. The central area along the locking receptacle 23 is formed as a widening 23b of the locking receptacle 23 larger than the two adjacent areas of the passage 23a of the locking receptacle 23, see for example Fig. 11. This applies accordingly to the case of a locking receptacle 16 of the first, inner watch strap 1, which then also has a passage 16a and a locking receptacle 16. The locking receptacles 16, 23 of the two watch strap parts 1, 2 are designed identically to accommodate an identical locking element 3, which can avoid the use of different locking elements 3 per watch strap part 1, 2, as already mentioned above.

[0053] The locking element 3, which can also be referred to as pin 3, is according to the Fig. 9 to 14 three-part, see especially Fig. 14. A locking body 30 has a stop section 30a, which is followed perpendicular to the elongated or planar extension direction of the respective watch strap part 1, 2 by a tapered receiving section 30b or undercut 30b, which is arranged within the corresponding hole 15, 22 of the respective watch strap part 1, 2 during use or when locking, see e.g. Fig. 10. The locking body 20 terminates with the previously described radial projection 30c as a locking hook 30. Located internally and extending into the undercut 30b, the locking body 30 has a receptacle 30d or a shaft receptacle 30d, which serves to connect to a retaining element 32 in the form of a rivet 32 of the locking element 3, as will be described in more detail below.

[0054] However, the locking body 30 is first followed perpendicularly to the elongated or planar extension direction of the respective watch strap part 1, 2 by a connecting element 31, which is essentially disc-shaped and extends radially significantly over the contour of the stop section 30a of the locking body 30 by means of a radial projection 31a, see e.g. Fig. 14. During assembly, this radial projection 31a of the connecting element 31 is pressed through the sufficiently resilient material of the respective watch strap part 1, 2 into its locking receptacle 16, 23, where it is held in place by a positive and non-positive fit. The connecting element 31 has a through-hole 31b in the center.

[0055] The aforementioned retaining element 32 or rivet 32 extends essentially perpendicular to the longitudinal or planar extension direction of the respective watch strap part 1, 2 through the through-opening 31b of the connecting element 31 and projects with a projection 32a or a shaft 32a sufficiently far into the shaft receptacle 30d of the locking body 30 to be pressed there and thus held in a force-locking manner. A stop section 32b or a contact surface 32b of the retaining element 32 rests against the edges (not designated) of the through-opening 31b of the connecting element 31, which edges are set back perpendicular to the longitudinal or planar extension direction of the respective watch strap part 1, 2. Towards the outside, the holding element 32 and thus also the locking body 3 closes with an outer surface 32c or with a closing surface 32c flush with the outside orSurface (not marked) of the respective watch strap part 1, 2, which can be advantageous both haptically and visually.

[0056] Thus, the locking element 3 can be formed comparatively simply from three parts 30, 31, 32, which can preferably be made of metal. This can also be simple in terms of assembly. Instead of a force-fit connection between the holding element 32 and the locking body 30, a screw connection is also possible.

[0057] According to a further embodiment of the Fig. 15, Fig. 16, the holes 15, 22 of the watch strap parts 1, 2 can be arranged identically to one another but differently for each watch strap part 1, 2 in order to lie exactly one above the other despite the different radius or circumference relative to the wrist or forearm of the user when the two watch strap parts 1, 2 are connected to one another by means of the locking mechanism as described above.

[0058] Thus, the holes 15 of the first watch strap part 1, as the inner watch strap part 1, have a first distance D1 from one another. The holes 22 of the second watch strap part 2, as the outer watch strap part 2, have a second distance D2 from one another. The first distance D1 of the holes 15 of the first watch strap part 1 is smaller than the second distance D2 of the holes 22 of the second watch strap part 2. Specifically, the first distance D1 of the holes 15 of the first watch strap part 1 is smaller than the second distance D2 of the holes 22 of the second watch strap part 2 by a factor which corresponds to the factor of the diameters by which the two watch strap parts 1, 2 extend when connected during use. This makes it possible to achieve the most precise possible overlap of the holes 15, 22 or the locking elements 3 of the two watch strap parts 1, 2.

[0059] The hole 15 of the first watch strap part 1 and the hole 22 of the second watch strap part 2 which is closest to the respective connecting end 10, 20 are arranged at the same distance from the connecting end 10, 20 of the respective watch strap part 1, 2, which can be particularly visually appealing to the user due to the symmetry.
