Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a method for producing a rotating anode bearing for an X-ray tube according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0002] Rotating anodes in X-ray tubes have bearings that must reliably handle the high rotational speeds of the rotating anode around the longitudinal axis of their rotor shaft. These speeds can be up to 9,000 rpm or more. Furthermore, the rotating anodes in an X-ray tube of a CT scanner rotate around the scanner axis at, for example, four revolutions per second, which can exert 40 times the acceleration of gravity on the X-ray tube and thus the rotating anode bearings.
[0003] A high-voltage electric field exists between the inner and outer bearing rings of corresponding rotating anode bearings. The inner bearing ring should be electrically conductive relative to the outer bearing ring to allow current flow. During operation, when X-rays are generated, and during an outgassing process before the X-ray tube is put into operation, temperatures of 450°C and more occur at the bearings. Furthermore, due to the process, the bearings are operated in a high vacuum of, for example, 10 to 11 bar.
[0004] Conventional oils and greases are therefore not suitable as bearing lubricants because they could evaporate, which could contaminate the vacuum in the X-ray tube. Therefore, the bearings are typically lubricated with a solid lubricant, which can be applied as a coating to the rolling elements, the inner bearing ring, and the outer bearing ring.
[0005] For this solid lubrication, a targeted ductility, including partial melting of the solid lubricant material, should generally be ensured.
[0006] Furthermore, evaporation of the solid lubricant during operation should be minimal and preferably avoided completely. Suitable solid lubricants have a defined melting point at a comparatively high temperature. However, solid lubricants with such a melting point and their application, for example using a suitable PVD process, are complex and expensive. If, on the other hand, a solid lubricant with a melting point that is too low is used, this can lead to the solid lubricant becoming detached from the raceways and, associated with this, to accumulation of the solid lubricant in the edge area of the rolling element raceways. If the rolling element raceways shift slightly, as is common during operation, this leads to rough rolling behavior of the rolling elements and thus to undesirable noise.
[0007] JP 2013 164954 A therefore proposes, for a rotating anode bearing, providing the rolling bearing closer to the anode with a solid lubricant that has a higher melting point than a solid lubricant used to lubricate the rolling bearing located farther from the anode. The background to this proposal is that the anode is the heat source for the high temperatures, and thus it is assumed that the temperature decreases with increasing distance from the anode. Therefore, the rolling bearing farther from the anode is lubricated with the correspondingly less temperature-resistant solid lubricant.
[0008] The solid lubricant is traditionally applied using a PVD process under high vacuum. The deposition rate is low, which means the layer buildup takes a long time. The effort involved is high, and the application of the solid lubricant is correspondingly expensive.
[0009] In other areas of technology with other bearings, which, however, do not meet the aforementioned requirements for rotating anode bearings, additional coating methods are known. For example, DE 10 2015 200 310 A1 proposes a piston unit and hydrostatic radial piston machine, wherein the piston unit comprises a piston having a rolling element mount for rotatably supporting a rolling element, which comprises a bearing surface with a surface coating consisting of a polymer compound or is provided with a ceramic surface coating. This can significantly reduce the friction between the rolling element mount and the rolling element, thus significantly increasing the starting efficiency of the piston unit.To ensure the simplest possible application of the respective surface coating and to optimally control the coating thickness, we recommend applying the surface coating to the bearing surface as an aerosol, for example, using an aerosol deposition process. This allows for easy adjustment of the radial clearance between the rolling element to be supported and the rolling element support.
[0010] JP 2007 292104 A proposes coating the rolling elements of a rolling bearing with a ceramic layer, whereby an aerosol containing ceramic particles is introduced into a sealed container in which the rolling elements are placed, whereby the container is then shaken so that the rolling elements abut each other or against the container wall.
[0011] JP 2006 170317 A proposes applying a ceramic layer by aerosol deposition to the bearing inner ring and the bearing outer ring and / or the rolling elements of a rolling bearing.
[0012] The present invention is based on the object of providing a method for producing a rotating anode bearing for an X-ray tube, which makes production simpler and more cost-effective.
[0013] The object of the invention is achieved by a method for producing a rotating anode bearing with the steps of claim 1 or claim 2.
[0014] The dependent claims specify advantageous and particularly useful embodiments of the invention.
[0015] According to one embodiment, a method according to the invention for producing a rotating anode bearing for an X-ray tube comprises the following steps: - Providing a rotor shaft extending along a longitudinal axis from a first axial end to a second axial end and being rotatably mounted about the longitudinal axis, wherein the rotor shaft has an anode receptacle in the region of the first axial end; - Providing at least one first rolling bearing in the region of the first axial end, wherein the first rolling bearing has a bearing outer ring and a bearing inner ring on which rolling elements of the first rolling bearing roll; - Providing at least one second rolling bearing in the region of the second axial end, which has the same or an additional bearing inner ring and the same or an additional bearing outer ring, on which rolling elements of the second rolling bearing roll; - Applying a solid lubricating material to the rolling elements of the first rolling bearing and / or the second rolling bearing and / or applying a solid lubricating material to the bearing inner ring and / or to the bearing outer ring, in each case in an area on which the rolling elements of the first rolling bearing or the second rolling bearing roll.
[0016] According to the invention, the solid lubricant material is applied using the aerosol deposition method, which is also called ADM (Aerosol Deposition Method).
[0017] According to another embodiment, which can also be combined with the first embodiment, a method according to the invention for producing a rotating anode bearing for an X-ray tube comprises the following steps: - Providing a rotor shaft extending along a longitudinal axis from a first axial end to a second axial end and being rotatably mounted about the longitudinal axis, wherein the rotor shaft has an anode receptacle in the region of the first axial end; - Providing at least one first rolling bearing in the region of the first axial end, wherein the first rolling bearing has a bearing outer ring and a bearing inner ring on which rolling elements of the first rolling bearing roll; - Providing at least one second rolling bearing in the region of the second axial end, which has the same or an additional bearing inner ring and the same or an additional bearing outer ring, on which rolling elements of the second rolling bearing roll, wherein the at least one bearing outer ring is inserted into a stationary housing enclosing the rotor shaft; - Applying a solid lubricating material in the area of a contact between at least one bearing outer ring and the stationary housing on the bearing outer ring and / or the stationary housing.
[0018] According to the invention, the solid lubricant material is applied using an aerosol deposition process.
[0019] In particular, a sliding seat is provided in the contact area between the bearing outer ring and the stationary housing, in which the bearing outer ring can move relative to the stationary housing in the direction of the longitudinal axis. If multiple bearing outer rings are provided, for example, only one bearing outer ring can be mounted in the housing with such a sliding seat, in which case, in particular, only the contact area in the sliding seat is provided with the solid lubricant on the bearing outer ring and / or in the housing.
[0020] The process according to the invention significantly reduces the effort required to coat the inner bearing ring, outer bearing ring, and / or the rolling elements of the bearings of a rotating anode bearing for an X-ray tube. A high vacuum for coating is not necessary, and the application of the solid lubricant can preferably take place at room temperature. If the particles from which the coating is made are applied to the surfaces to be coated at high speed, for example, more than 100 m / s, favorable residual compressive stresses can be generated in the coating and in the near-surface zone of the component to be coated, which improves the fatigue life.
[0021] If multiple rolling bearings are provided next to each other in the region of the first axial end, all rolling bearings provided in the region of the first axial end are referred to as the first rolling bearing. Accordingly, multiple rolling bearings in the region of the second axial end, which may be provided next to each other, are each referred to as the second rolling bearing.
[0022] Each of the rolling bearings has an outer bearing ring and an inner bearing ring, on which the rolling elements of the rolling bearing roll. The rolling elements are thus positioned between the outer bearing ring and the inner bearing ring and roll on both rings. The inner bearing ring is formed, for example, by the rotor shaft or by a separate inner bearing ring mounted on the rotor shaft. The outer bearing ring is formed, for example, by a stationary housing enclosing the rotor shaft or by a separate outer bearing ring inserted into the housing.
[0023] When the bearing rings are coated according to the invention, the solid lubricants are provided at least in one area in each case where the rolling elements of the rolling bearing roll, i.e., in the area of the rolling element raceways. Solid lubricants on the bearing rings outside the rolling element raceways can be omitted.
[0024] The vacuum in which the solid lubricant is applied, preferably at room temperature, is preferably 0.1 mbar to 1 mbar.
[0025] The solid lubricant can be applied, for example, in a layer thickness of 25 nm to 1000 nm, especially 25 nm to 200 nm. This allows favorable wear properties to be achieved with a long coating service life.
[0026] Preferably, the solid lubricating material comprises lead (Pb), silver (Ag) and / or molybdenum disulfide (MoS2).
[0027] In particular when the solid lubricating material comprises silver, but also in the case of another coating material, the solid lubricating material can preferably be applied to a carrier layer of nickel (Ni), which is applied as an intermediate layer before the application of the solid lubricating material to the surface to be coated.
[0028] Preferably, the component to be coated, i.e. the bearing inner ring, the bearing outer ring and / or the housing, comprises T15, T1, M62, M2 and / or 440C, i.e. steel.
[0029] According to one embodiment, lead, silver and / or molybdenum disulfide is provided as the main component of the solid lubricating material, so to speak as the base material.
[0030] According to one embodiment of the invention, the solid lubricating material is applied only to the bearing inner rings and / or the bearing outer rings of the rolling bearings and the rolling elements themselves can be free of a solid lubricating material.
[0031] When applying the solid lubricant using an aerosol deposition process, for example, a carrier gas containing particles of the solid lubricant with a maximum particle size of a few micrometers can be introduced into an aerosol generator. The pressurized carrier gas flows through the aerosol generator, entraining the particles. The carrier gas entraining the particles is injected into a deposition chamber through a nozzle. As shown, a vacuum exists in the deposition chamber, although only a slight vacuum is required. The component(s) with the surface(s) to be coated are located in the deposition chamber. The particles are sprayed onto these surfaces at high speed, where they form the desired coating.
[0032] The first rolling bearing and the second rolling bearing can have separate inner and / or outer bearing rings. According to a preferred embodiment, the first rolling bearing and the second rolling bearing have a common inner and / or outer bearing ring.
[0033] The first rolling bearing and the second rolling bearing can be elastically braced against each other in the axial direction, i.e., in the direction of the longitudinal axis. For this purpose, at least one spring element acting in the direction of the longitudinal axis is preferably provided. According to one embodiment, this spring element is located outside the two rolling bearings in the direction of the longitudinal axis, i.e., not between the first rolling bearing and the second rolling bearing. Several spring elements acting in the direction of the longitudinal axis can also be provided, at least one for the bearing inner rings and at least one for the bearing outer rings.
[0034] The bearing inner ring(s) and / or the bearing outer ring(s) may have shoulders which, with appropriate tensioning of the rolling bearings, result in a bearing arrangement with an O arrangement or a bearing arrangement with an X arrangement.
[0035] According to one embodiment of the invention, a single first rolling bearing is provided in the region of the first axial end of the rotor shaft. Preferably, a single second rolling bearing is also provided in the region of the second axial end of the rotor shaft. The rolling bearings are designed, in particular, as single-row rolling bearings.
[0036] The rolling elements are, for example, spherical. However, roller bearings, such as cylindrical roller bearings or tapered roller bearings, are also possible, preferably with the rollers positioned relative to the longitudinal axis.
[0037] According to one embodiment of the invention, a spacer is provided between the two outer bearing rings of the first rolling bearing and the second rolling bearing. Particularly in an O-arrangement of the rolling bearings, a spacer between the two inner bearing rings is omitted, so that the gap in the direction of the longitudinal axis between the two inner bearing rings can be free of any spacer element by which the inner bearing rings are supported against each other. Rather, in such a case, the two inner bearing rings are preferably supported via the rolling elements, the outer bearing rings, and the spacer if the outer bearing rings are not formed as a single piece.
[0038] A rotating anode for an X-ray tube, the rotating anode bearing of which is manufactured according to the method of the invention, comprises, according to one exemplary embodiment, a rotor and a stator surrounding the rotor at a distance in the circumferential direction, wherein the rotor and the stator interact electromagnetically with one another such that the rotor can be set in rotation by applying an electromagnetic field by means of the stator. The rotor is pot-shaped, surrounds a roller-bearing rotor shaft in the circumferential direction, and is connected to a first axial end of the rotor shaft. Furthermore, an anode plate is provided, which is connected to an axial end of the rotor and is provided with anode material, wherein the anode plate is connected to the rotor shaft and / or the rotor in the region of the first axial end.
[0039] The rotor shaft is mounted by means of a rotating anode bearing according to the type shown in a stationary housing which is enclosed by the stator.
[0040] Both the rotor and the stationary housing or parts of the stationary housing are advantageously located within a vacuum container, for example made of glass.
[0041] During operation of the X-ray tube, the anode material on the anode plate, which is connected to the anode holder, can be bombarded with electrons from a cathode associated with the anode, thereby generating the desired X-ray radiation. The cathode and the rotating anode can be positioned opposite each other in the vacuum vessel, particularly opposite each other in the axial direction. The stator, however, can be positioned outside the vacuum vessel.
[0042] The invention will be described below using exemplary embodiments and the figures.
[0043] They show: Fig. 1 an embodiment of a rotating anode bearing; Fig. 2 an embodiment of a rotating anode according to the invention.
[0044] The rotating anode bearing for an X-ray tube according to the Fig. 1 has a rotor shaft 3 supported in a first rolling bearing 1 and a second rolling bearing 2. The rotor shaft 3 extends from a first axial end 4 to a second axial end 5 along the longitudinal axis 6, around which the rotor shaft 3 rotates. The rotor shaft 3 is supported in the region of the first axial end 4 by the first rolling bearing 1 and in the region of the second axial end 5 by the second rolling bearing 2, wherein in the illustrated embodiment, both axial ends 4, 5 each protrude beyond the corresponding rolling bearing 1, 2.
[0045] At its first axial end 4, the rotor shaft 3 carries an anode holder 14, to which an anode plate and, if necessary, a rotor can be connected, as will be explained below with reference to the Fig. 2 will be explained later.
[0046] In the region of the second axial end 5, the rotor shaft 3 is enclosed axially outside the second rolling bearing 2 by a spring element 7, which is resiliently supported on the one hand against a stationary housing 8, in which the rotor shaft 3 is mounted so as to rotate about the longitudinal axis 6, and on the other hand against an outer bearing ring 15 of the second rolling bearing 2. The spring element 7 elastically presses the outer bearing ring 15 of the second rolling bearing 2 in the direction of the outer bearing ring 15 of the first rolling bearing 1. In particular, as shown, a disk or the like can be provided between the outer bearing ring 15 of the second rolling bearing 2 and the spring element 7, via which disk the spring element 7 is supported on the outer bearing ring 15.
[0047] The supporting force of the spring element 7 is transmitted to the rotor shaft 3 via the bearing outer ring 15 of the second rolling bearing 2 and the rolling elements 17 of the rolling element row 16 of the second rolling bearing 2 in the direction of the longitudinal axis 6. For this purpose, the bearing outer ring 15 of the second rolling bearing 2 has a bearing outer ring shoulder 18 that protrudes radially inward from the bearing outer ring 15 and engages the rolling elements 17 in the axial direction, i.e., in the direction of the longitudinal axis 6. The bearing outer ring shoulder 18 is positioned on the side of the rolling element row 16 of the second rolling bearing 2 facing the spring element 7.
[0048] The rolling elements 17 of the second rolling bearing 2 are received in a circumferential groove 20 in the radially outer surface of the rotor shaft 3, which forms the bearing inner ring 22 or radially inner raceways for the rolling elements 17. Thus, the bearing inner ring 22 or the rotor shaft 3 forms a bearing inner ring shoulder 21, via which the rolling elements 17 transmit the force of the spring element 7 in the direction of the longitudinal axis 6 into the rotor shaft 3 in the direction of the first rolling bearing 1. In the area of the first rolling bearing 1, the rotor shaft 3 has a corresponding circumferential groove 20, which forms a bearing inner ring shoulder 21, via which the force of the spring element 7 is transmitted in the direction of the longitudinal axis 6 away from the second rolling bearing 2 to the rolling elements 17 of the rolling element row 16 of the first rolling bearing 1. Accordingly, the two bearing inner ring shoulders 21 of the two rolling bearings 1, 2 are positioned axially within the two rows of rolling elements 16.
[0049] From the rolling elements 17 of the first rolling bearing 1, the force is further transmitted in the direction of the longitudinal axis 6 to the bearing outer ring 15 of the first rolling bearing 1. For this purpose, this bearing outer ring 15 has a bearing outer ring shoulder 18, which is positioned on the side of the rolling element row 16 of the first rolling bearing 1 facing away from the second rolling bearing 2 and protrudes radially inward from the bearing outer ring 15. From this bearing outer ring 15, the axial force of the spring element 7 is finally transmitted to the stationary housing 8, here by means of a snap ring 19, which is inserted in the stationary housing 8 and against which the bearing outer ring 15 of the first rolling bearing 1 rests in the direction of the longitudinal axis 6. Of course, a different axial stop could be provided in the stationary housing 8.
[0050] Due to the preferred, but not mandatory, design presented here, the entire spring force of the spring element 7 is transmitted via the inner bearing rings 22, here formed by the rotor shaft 3. An element transmitting this axial force in the axial direction between the two outer bearing rings 15 can be omitted. This allows for cost-effective and particularly play-free clamping of the rotating anode bearing.
[0051] However, in contrast to the design shown here, separate bearing inner rings 22 could also be provided, which are applied, for example shrunk, to the outer circumference of the rotor shaft 3.
[0052] Solid lubrication is provided for both the first rolling bearing 1 and the second rolling bearing 2. For this purpose, the raceways of the rolling elements 17 are coated with a solid lubricant, Fig. 1, the coatings are shown disproportionately thick for clarity. The inner ring 22 of the first rolling bearing 1 is provided with the solid lubricant 23 in the raceway area, i.e., here, the circumferential groove 20. The outer ring 15 of the first rolling bearing 1 is provided with the solid lubricant 23 in the raceway area, which was applied according to the invention using an aerosol deposition process in a vacuum chamber.
[0053] The bearing inner ring 22 of the second rolling bearing 2 is provided with the solid lubricating material 23 in the area of the raceway, here accordingly in the area of the circumferential groove 20, and the bearing outer ring 15 of the second rolling bearing 2 is provided with the solid lubricating material 23 in the area of the raceway, each also applied according to the invention.
[0054] In addition or alternatively to applying the solid lubricating material 23 to the raceways of the rolling elements 17, other components moving relative to one another can also be provided with such a solid lubricating material, for example, in the exemplary embodiment shown, the area of contact between the bearing outer ring 15 of the second rolling bearing 2 and the stationary housing 8. The solid lubricating material can be applied to the radially outer surface of the bearing outer ring 15 and / or to the radially inner surface of the stationary housing 8.
[0055] In the Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of a rotating anode, comprising a rotating anode bearing according to the Fig.1. The rotor shaft 3 is mounted rotatably about its longitudinal axis 6 within a stationary housing 8. The stationary housing 8, in turn, carries a vacuum container 9 or is connected to it in a pressure-tight manner, which, in addition to the rotating anode, also encloses a cathode (not shown in detail here).
[0056] Outside the vacuum vessel 9, a stator 10 is provided, by means of which the rotor 11, which is cantilevered on the rotor shaft 3 at the first axial end 4, can be driven contactlessly through the wall of the vacuum vessel 9, so that it rotates about the longitudinal axis 6. At its first axial end 4, the rotor shaft 3 also carries the anode plate 12, which is provided with an anode material 13 and rotates with the rotor 11 or the rotor shaft 3. The anode material 13 is bombarded with an electron beam by the cathode (not shown here), so that the X-ray radiation is generated and exits the vacuum vessel 9.
[0057] The anode holder 14 for holding the anode plate 12 or here also the rotor 11 is only shown schematically as an axial flange and could of course also be designed differently.
