Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a battery housing for a plurality of battery cells for an electrical energy storage device of an at least partially electrically powered motor vehicle, comprising at least one frame part, wherein the frame part comprises a receiving area for the plurality of battery cells, and a base element. Furthermore, the invention relates to an arrangement comprising at least one battery housing, thus a plurality of battery cells, and a method for producing a battery housing.
[0002] It is already known from automotive engineering that corresponding rigidity requirements must be met by the drive battery and the cell assembly space. It is also known that the drive battery, for example, is intended to take on the rigidity functions of a vehicle floor. In other words, the battery is intended to replace the floor in the vehicle body. Furthermore, honeycomb structures are already known from aircraft construction.
[0003] EP 3 037 264 A1 discloses a method for producing a honeycomb core semi-finished product for producing a sandwich component, comprising the steps of - providing a honeycomb core, - moistening the honeycomb core at least in a deformation section of the webs of the honeycomb core, - compressing the honeycomb core at least in the deformation section, as well as such a honeycomb core semi-finished product and such a sandwich component.
[0004] The object of the present invention is to provide a battery housing, an arrangement and a method by means of which the rigidity of the battery housing within the motor vehicle can be increased.
[0005] This object is achieved by a battery housing, an assembly, and a method for producing a battery housing according to the independent patent claims. Advantageous embodiments are specified in the subclaims.
[0006] One aspect of the invention relates to a battery housing for a plurality of battery cells for an electrical energy storage device of an at least partially electrically operated motor vehicle, comprising at least one frame part, wherein the frame part comprises a receiving area for the plurality of battery cells, and comprising a base element.
[0007] It is provided that the floor element is designed as a honeycomb structure, which is supported on the frame part at least in some areas.
[0008] In particular, the base element is thus provided with a honeycomb structure. In particular, the honeycomb structure is essentially hexagonal or octagonal. Other honeycomb shapes can of course also be used, but manufacturing costs and rigidity have proven preferable for a hexagonal or octagonal design. In particular, corresponding forces can be reliably dissipated by the honeycomb structure. The base element has, in particular, a cover element, which protrudes in particular in the direction of the receiving area. Furthermore, the base element has a base part, which in turn serves as the base of the battery housing.
[0009] In particular, it can be provided that the honeycomb structure is made from pre-impregnated glass fiber semi-finished products. This allows the use of a partially filled honeycomb structure, into which, for example, round cells can be inserted and subsequently cast with the honeycomb structure. Furthermore, a lowering or expansion of a casting compound can be achieved. Furthermore, the stiffness requirements of the casting compound can be assumed by the casting compound and the honeycomb structure. Furthermore, an increase in the deformability of the casting material and a reduction in the Young's modulus of the casting compound material can be made possible. The honeycomb structure further increases stiffness.
[0010] In particular, this has the advantage that, for example, less encapsulation is required during production, thus reducing production time. Furthermore, smaller expansion and integration into the vehicle body shell are possible. Furthermore, lightweight construction and lower weight with high rigidity can be achieved. Furthermore, the battery housing exhibits improved crash behavior.
[0011] The battery housing, in turn, is designed in particular for an electrical energy storage device of the at least partially electrically powered motor vehicle. The electrical energy storage device can be designed in particular as a high-voltage energy storage device. The battery housing can then in turn be closed with a further cover element, so that, in particular, a substantially sealed battery housing can be provided. Furthermore, the frame part, in particular, is also designed to be correspondingly sealed, so that no liquid can penetrate into the receiving area, and in particular subsequently into the battery cells.
[0012] According to an advantageous embodiment, the floor element is designed as a structural element for the motor vehicle. In particular, the floor element thus also forms a structural element of the motor vehicle, in particular a floor part of the motor vehicle. Thus, the motor vehicle can be designed with a reduced weight, since the floor element, which is also used for the battery housing, now has a dual function, namely, being designed as a floor element of the battery housing and simultaneously as a structural element of the motor vehicle.
[0013] It is further advantageous if the receiving area is designed to accommodate a battery cell in the form of a round cell. For example, the round cells can then be applied to the corresponding honeycomb structure. This allows for a reliable electrical energy storage device to be provided for an at least partially electrically powered motor vehicle.
[0014] It has also proven advantageous if the honeycomb structure is arranged on the frame part by means of at least one screw device. The screw device is thus designed in particular for fastening the frame part to the honeycomb structure. In particular, for example, the honeycomb structure is screwed to a lower part of the frame part. This allows for a reliable fastening of the honeycomb structure to the frame part. Furthermore, a structural element can be created that reliably exhibits corresponding properties for the motor vehicle.
[0015] It can further be provided that the at least one screw device is additionally designed to adjust a predetermined distance from the frame part. In particular, this enables the honeycomb structure to be screwed to the housing parts for precise adjustment of adhesive joints, for example. For example, the screwing between a cooler, thermal paste, honeycomb structure, and the cell base can be carried out accordingly.
[0016] It has also proven advantageous if the honeycomb structure is closed with a base section and a cover section. In particular, this provides a closed base element that is protected from external influences.
[0017] It is also advantageous if each honeycomb of the honeycomb structure is provided with a potting compound. In particular, the potting compound can then, for example, improve the rigidity and flexibility accordingly, thereby enabling the realization of an improved battery housing.
[0018] A further advantageous embodiment provides for the potting compound to be introduced into the honeycomb in a defined manner, or for the potting compound to be introduced into the receiving area in a defined manner. In particular, the potting compound is thus specifically cast all around, for example, the round cell. Another possibility is for the potting compound to be specifically formed between the cell area and the sealing frame of the frame part.
[0019] A further aspect of the invention relates to an arrangement comprising at least one battery housing according to the preceding aspect and comprising a plurality of battery cells. Furthermore, the invention also relates to an electrical energy storage device comprising at least the arrangement for an at least partially electrically powered motor vehicle.
[0020] Furthermore, the invention also relates to a motor vehicle having at least one arrangement according to the preceding aspect, wherein the motor vehicle is designed as an at least partially electrically operated or fully electrically operated motor vehicle.
[0021] Yet another aspect of the invention relates to a method for producing a battery housing according to the preceding aspect for a plurality of battery cells for an electrical energy storage device of an at least partially electrically powered motor vehicle. A frame part of a battery housing with a base part for the honeycomb structure is provided. A structural element for the honeycomb structure is folded to form the honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure is arranged in the frame part on the base part, and a potting compound is introduced into the honeycomb structure. A cover part is then attached to the honeycomb structure.
[0022] Advantageous embodiments of the battery housing are to be regarded as advantageous embodiments of the arrangement, the electrical energy storage device, the motor vehicle and the method.
[0023] In particular, the battery housing, the arrangement, the electrical energy storage device and the motor vehicle have objective features as are necessary for a method according to the invention.
[0024] Further advantages, features, and details of the invention will become apparent from the following description of preferred embodiments and from the drawings. The features and combinations of features mentioned above in the description, as well as the features and combinations of features mentioned below in the description of the figures and / or shown alone in the figures, can be used not only in the respective specified combinations, but also in other combinations or on their own, without departing from the scope of the invention.
[0025] Showing: Fig. 1 a schematic side view of an embodiment of a motor vehicle with an embodiment of an electrical energy storage device with an embodiment of an arrangement with an embodiment of a battery housing; Fig. 2 a schematic perspective view of an embodiment of a frame part with a base part; Fig. 3 is a schematic plan view of an embodiment of a battery housing; Fig. 4 is a schematic plan view of an embodiment of an arrangement; and Fig. 5 a schematic perspective view of an embodiment of a bottom element of the battery housing.
[0026] In the figures, identical functional elements are provided with the same reference numerals.
[0027] Fig. Figure 1 shows a schematic side view of an embodiment of a motor vehicle 10. The motor vehicle 10 is, in particular, at least partially electrically operated or fully electrically operated. For this purpose, the motor vehicle 10 has an electrical energy storage device 12. The electrical energy storage device 12, in turn, has an arrangement 14.
[0028] Fig. 2 shows a schematic perspective view of an embodiment of a frame part 16 with a base part 18. In particular, with the Fig. 2, the previously used housing concept can be retained, whereby in particular the frame part 16 additionally has a sealing frame 20, as well as a corresponding cell connection to the cooler and to other electrical contacts.
[0029] Fig. 3 again shows a schematic plan view of the frame part 16 from Fig. 2. In the present embodiment, it is particularly shown that the frame part 16 is provided with a base element 22. The base element 22, in turn, forms a receiving area 24 with the frame part 16. In the receiving area 24, round cells 26 ( Fig. 5). The floor element 22 again has, as shown in Fig. 3, a honeycomb structure 28. The honeycomb structure 28 is supported at least in part on the frame part 16.
[0030] In particular, it is provided that the floor element 22 is designed as a structural element for the motor vehicle 10. It can further be provided that the honeycomb structure 28 is connected to the floor part 18 and to a cover part 32 (not shown) Fig. 5) is closed accordingly. Each honeycomb of the honeycomb structure 28 can in turn be provided with a potting compound. The potting compound can be introduced into the honeycomb in a defined manner, or the potting compound can be introduced into the receiving area 24 in a defined manner.
[0031] Fig. 4 again shows a schematic plan view of an embodiment of an arrangement 14. The arrangement 14 again has a battery housing 30 and a plurality of battery cells 26.
[0032] In particular, it is intended that the cell area is filled with a small, lightweight honeycomb structure in which cutouts for the round cells are inserted. These cutouts for the round cells, in turn, serve as holding elements for the round cells themselves. Fig. 3, for example, the holding elements are not shown, while in the Fig. 4 the round cells 26 are already held by the retaining elements. In particular, a targeted load path is required to enable the open honeycomb structure 28 to be cast using casting compounds of varying stiffness. In particular, open cutouts are provided for the round cells and all around the connection area to the sealing frame 20 in the honeycomb structure 28. The goal here is to distribute the stiffness requirements from the pure function of the casting compound to the honeycomb structure 28 and the casting compound.
[0033] The potting compound thus has a lower modulus of elasticity, resulting in increased rigidity due to the honeycomb structure 28. Furthermore, the expansion of the potting compound can be reduced and its deformability increased. Furthermore, material accumulation can be avoided.
[0034] The Fig.5 again shows a schematic perspective view of an embodiment of the base element 22. In the present exemplary embodiment, the base element 22 comprises the base part 18, the honeycomb structure 28, and the cover element 32. Furthermore, in the present exemplary embodiment, it is shown that the honeycomb structure 28 is arranged on the frame part 16 by means of at least one screw device 34. In this case, the at least one screw device 34 can additionally be designed to adjust a predetermined distance from the frame part 16. In particular, the screw connection of the honeycomb structure 28 to the housing part can thus be provided for precise adjustment of adhesive joints. For example, the corresponding screw device 34 can be provided between the cooler-heat button honeycomb structure 28 and the cell base.
[0035] Furthermore, the invention also relates to a method for producing the battery housing 30 for a plurality of battery cells 26 for the electrical energy storage device 12 of the at least partially electrically powered motor vehicle 10. The frame part 16 of the battery housing 30 is provided with the base part 18 for the honeycomb structure 28. A structural element, for example the glass fiber structure, for the honeycomb structure 28 is folded to form the honeycomb structure 28. The honeycomb structure 28 is arranged in the frame part 16 on the base part 18. A potting compound is introduced into the honeycomb structure 28, and the cover part 32 is attached to the honeycomb structure 28.
