Description

[0001] The invention relates to a rear spoiler device for a motor vehicle, comprising a spoiler blade arrangement adjustable by a drive device, with a front wall arrangement directed towards the motor vehicle and a rear wall arrangement facing away from the motor vehicle, wherein the spoiler blade arrangement has at least one spoiler blade upper part, around which an air flow flows at least on an upper side during driving, and a spoiler blade lower part, which has a spoiler lower surface facing away from the spoiler blade upper part, wherein the spoiler blade upper part is connected to the spoiler blade lower part, enclosing a spoiler cavity, wherein a number of water drainage openings are provided in the spoiler cavity. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle with a rear spoiler device.

[0002] Such rear spoiler devices are generally known from the prior art, with rear spoiler devices typically having an adjustable spoiler blade arrangement. By adjusting the spoiler blade arrangement, the aerodynamics, i.e. the air flow, of the motor vehicle can be adapted to the respective driving situation. The spoiler blade arrangement essentially consists of an upper spoiler blade part and a lower spoiler blade part which are connected to one another. Water can penetrate into the spoiler cavity via the connecting surfaces, which can cause damage to the spoiler blade arrangement and the drive device, as well as acoustic noise. In order to avoid such disadvantages, it is known, for example from EP 1 506 909 B1, to provide water drainage openings in the region of a low extension of the spoiler lower surface as seen in the vertical direction of the motor vehicle. However, when the spoiler blade assembly is extended and / or pivoted, these water drainage openings are visible and thus detract from the appearance of the spoiler blade assembly. Furthermore, the water drainage openings represent an interference contour during the injection molding process used to manufacture the lower spoiler blade section, resulting in visible markings.

[0003] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a rear spoiler device which avoids the above-mentioned disadvantages in a simple and cost-effective manner.

[0004] This object is achieved according to the invention in that the spoiler lower surface, in a region adjoining the bulkhead arrangement, recedes in the direction of the spoiler blade upper part, such that the spoiler cavity can be divided into at least a receding region and a standard region. A water-guiding rib extending in the transverse and vertical directions of the vehicle is provided in the receding region, so that a water-guiding channel is formed directed toward the bulkhead arrangement, which has the water drainage openings. This makes it fundamentally possible to drain water that has entered the spoiler cavity at the bulkhead arrangement from the spoiler cavity in an area invisible to an observer.

[0005] Particularly advantageously, the drive device comprises pivoting means for the spoiler blade assembly, wherein at least the water-conducting rib has water-conducting openings at its ends, such that, when the spoiler blade assembly is pivoted, water in the region of the spoiler cavity facing the rear wall assembly can be directed to the recessed area and drained there. This also allows water in the region of the spoiler cavity facing the rear wall assembly to be directed to the recessed area and drained there.

[0006] In an advantageous embodiment, the transition from the recessed area to the standard area can be continuous. Alternatively, the transition from the recessed area to the standard area can be abrupt.

[0007] Advantageously, the spoiler blade lower part has reinforcing ribs running in the transverse direction of the vehicle.

[0008] In a particularly advantageous manner, the spoiler blade upper part and / or the spoiler blade lower part of the spoiler blade arrangement are manufactured by injection molding.

[0009] To ensure easy production of the spoiler blade arrangement, the spoiler blade lower part and the spoiler blade upper part are connected to each other via a screw connection in a force-locking manner or via a clip connection in a form-locking manner.

[0010] This problem is also solved by a motor vehicle with such a rear spoiler device. For the advantages, see the preceding paragraphs.

[0011] An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a rear area of a motor vehicle with a rear spoiler device according to the invention, Fig. 2 shows a sectional view of the rear spoiler device from Fig. 1 in a retracted position, Fig. 3 shows a sectioned detailed view of the rear spoiler device from Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, and Fig. 4 shows the rear spoiler device from Fig. 1 in an extended position.

[0012] Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a rear area 2 of a motor vehicle 4. In the rear area 2, a rear spoiler device 6 is provided, which is shown in a retracted position. The rear spoiler device 6 comprises (see also Fig. 2) a spoiler blade arrangement 10 adjustable by a drive device 8. The spoiler blade arrangement 10 has a bulkhead arrangement 12 directed towards the motor vehicle 4 and a rear wall arrangement 14 facing away from the motor vehicle 4. In the present exemplary embodiment, the spoiler blade arrangement 10 is formed by a spoiler blade upper part 16 and a spoiler blade lower part 18. The spoiler blade upper part 16 alone forms the rear wall arrangement 14. The bulkhead arrangement 12 is formed by both the spoiler blade upper part 16 and the spoiler blade lower part 18. During driving, only an upper side 20 of the spoiler blade upper part 16 is surrounded by an air flow. In an extended position, the entire spoiler blade arrangement 10 is surrounded by an air flow.

[0013] In the present exemplary embodiment, the spoiler blade upper part 16 is connected to the spoiler blade lower part 18 via a screw connection (not shown) and thereby encloses a spoiler cavity 24. In order to be able to drain water penetrating into the spoiler cavity 24, a number of water drainage openings 28 are provided in a spoiler lower surface 26 of the spoiler blade lower part 18 facing away from the spoiler blade upper part 16.

[0014] In this case, the water in the spoiler cavity 24 is in the extended position of the spoiler blade arrangement 10 (see Fig.4) in the direction of the bulkhead arrangement 12, in order to then be discharged by the movement of the motor vehicle 4 or by the adjustment of the spoiler blade arrangement 10 into a retracted state in interaction with a water-guiding rib 30 running in the transverse and vertical directions of the motor vehicle via a water-guiding channel 32 that leads to the water drainage openings 28. For this purpose, the drive device 8 has pivoting means (not shown in detail) for the spoiler blade arrangement 10, wherein the water-guiding rib 30 has water-guiding passage openings (not shown in detail) at its ends. According to the invention, the spoiler lower surface 26 recesses in the direction of the spoiler blade upper part 16 in a region 34 adjoining the bulkhead arrangement 12, so that the spoiler cavity 24 can be divided at least into this recessed region 34 and a standard region 36.The water guide rib 30 is designed as a wall part between the recessed area 34 and the standard area 36.

[0015] In the present case, a transition 38 from the recessed region 34 to the standard region 36 is abrupt. However, in an alternative embodiment, this transition can also be continuous. In the present exemplary embodiment, the lower part has reinforcing ribs 40 extending in the transverse direction of the vehicle, which have interruptions or openings (not shown) to guide water from the standard region 36 into the recessed region 34. In the present exemplary embodiment, both the spoiler blade upper part 16 and the spoiler blade lower part 18 of the spoiler blade arrangement 10 are manufactured using an injection molding process.
