Abstract
The invention relates to a method for operating an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, wherein the internal combustion engine has an injection system comprising injection injectors, and wherein the internal combustion engine has an exhaust system with a lambda sensor for determining a lambda value and a lambda control deviation (LRA). According to the invention, when determining a modeled fuel consumption (Kmod), a lambda control deviation (LRA) is used to correct injector errors, wherein a correction factor (K) is determined to ascertain a corrected fuel consumption (KKorr), the correction factor (K) being determined by integrating the lambda control deviation (LRA).
