Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Technical field The present invention relates to a device for using adhesive tape. The invention relates in particular to an adhesive tape dispenser or dispenser with magnetic attraction or attractive force. 2. Description of the state of the art Tape dispensers are stationery items commonly used in our daily lives. A typical tape dispenser consists of a base, a tape spool on the base to hold a roll of tape, and a cutting device at one end of the base for cutting the tape. To stabilize the tape dispenser, it is common to place an iron block or iron grit in the base to increase its weight and prevent it from being easily moved during use. However, such tape dispensers are heavy and can only be used on a flat surface, meaning they are not suitable for some locations. BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The main objective of the present invention is to provide an adhesive tape dispenser that is magnetically attractive, structurally simple, easy to attach and easy to move. To solve the main problem, the present invention provides a magnetically attracted adhesive tape dispenser, tape dispenser, or tape unwinder comprising a base, an adhesive tape spool, and two insertion tubes. The base comprises a bottom, a left side wall, a right side wall, and a front upright wall. The left and right side walls are each located on opposite sides of the bottom. The front upright wall is located on one side of both the left and right side walls and is provided with a cutting tool. The left and right side walls each have a recess for a pivot axis. The base further comprises two through-holes, each penetrating both side walls of the base. The tape reel has a pivot axis and is pivotally mounted between the pivot axis mounting grooves of the left and right side walls by means of this pivot axis. Each of the two insertion tubes comprises a tube body section, a stop section located at one end of the tube body section, and a magnet located at the opposite end of the tube body section. The two insertion tubes are designed so that they can be inserted separately into the two through-holes in the left or right side wall of the base and thus secured in the through-holes. According to the foregoing structures, the magnetically attracted tape dispenser according to the present invention allows the positions of the magnets to be changed by altering the direction in which the insertion tubes are separately inserted into the through-holes, so that the base can be magnetically attached to the surface of any magnetically permeable material via the two magnets, thus facilitating the use of the tape dispenser. It is therefore not necessary to additionally equip the tape dispenser according to the invention with a heavy iron block or heavy iron sand to increase its weight and thus its stability. The base 10 comprises a bottom surface 11, a left side wall 12, a right side wall 13, and a front upright wall 14. The left side wall 12 and the right side wall 13 are each located on one of the two sides opposite the bottom surface 11. The front upright wall 14 is located on one side of the left side wall 12 and the right side wall 13 and connects the left side wall 12 and the right side wall 13. The front upright wall 14 is provided with a cutting tool 15. The left side wall 12 and the right side wall 13 are each provided with a pivot shaft mounting groove 16. Additionally, the base 10 is penetrated by two through holes 17, each extending from the left side wall 12 to the right side wall 13.The hole wall of each through-hole 17 is concave and provided with at least one left engagement groove 18 and at least one right engagement groove 19, wherein: the left engagement groove 18 extends inwards from the left side wall 12 into the through-hole 17, but is not as long as the through-hole 17; the right engagement groove 19 extends inwards from the right side wall 13 into the through-hole 17, but is not as long as the through-hole 17; and wherein the left engagement groove 18 and the right engagement groove 19 are identical in shape and length. In this embodiment, each through-hole 17 is provided with a pair of left engagement grooves 18 and a pair of right engagement grooves 19, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4. The tape reel 20 has a pivot axis 21. The tape reel 20 is pivotably arranged via the pivot axis 21 between the pivot axis receiving grooves 16 of the left and right side walls 12 and 13 and is designed to carry a roll of adhesive tape. Each of the two insertion tubes 30 comprises a tube body section 31, a stop section 32 provided at a first end of the tube body section 31 and projecting out of the tube body section 31 along a radial direction of the insertion tube 30, and a magnet 33 provided at an opposite second end of the tube body section 31. In this embodiment, each stop section 32 has an annular shape, although the stop sections 32 need not necessarily be shaped in this way. For example, each stop section 32 can be shaped as part of a ring or as a projecting block. The tube body section 31 of each insertion tube 30 is provided with at least one guide block 34 and one engagement hook 35, wherein: the guide block 34 and the engagement hook 35 each correspond in their position to the at least one left engagement groove 18 and the at least one right engagement groove 19 of each through-hole 17, the guide block 34 extends along the axial direction of the insertion tube 30 from the stop section 32 of the insertion tube 30 to the second end of the tube body section 31 of the insertion tube 30, but does not reach the second end of the tube body section 31 of the insertion tube 30, and the extension length of the guide block 34 is equal to the length of the at least one left engagement groove 18 or the at least one right engagement groove 19 of each through-hole 17.In this embodiment, the tube body section 31 of each insertion tube 30 is shaped as a tube with a circular cross-section and is provided with a pair of guide blocks 34 and a pair of engagement hooks 35, the guide blocks 34 and the engagement hooks 35 being arranged alternately at 90-degree intervals. However, the configuration of the insertion tubes 30 is not limited to the foregoing. The insertion tubes 30 can also be tubes with a square, triangular, or polygonal cross-section. The insertion tubes 30 are designed so that each of them can engage in one of the through holes 17 of the base 10, as shown in Fig. 3, Fig. 4, Fig. 7 and Fig. 8. When one of the insertion tubes 30 engages through the left side wall 12 of the base 10 into one of the through holes 17, the guide blocks 34 of the insertion tube 30 are inserted separately into the left engagement grooves 18 of the through hole 17, and the engagement hooks 35 of the insertion tube 30 are initially pressed down by compression upon entry into the through hole 17 and, as soon as the insertion tube 30 has reached the fully engaged position, are engaged separately into the right engagement grooves 19 of the through hole 17, with the stop section 32 of the insertion tube 30 bearing against the left side wall 12, so that the insertion tube 30 is secured in the base 10, with the magnet 33 of the insertion tube 30 being located on the right side wall 13 of the base 10.When both insertion tubes 30 engage in the through holes 17 through the left side wall 12, two magnets 33 are located on the right side wall 13 of the base 10, so that the base 10 can be secured in place by magnetic attraction. Likewise, when the two insertion tubes 30 are inserted separately into the through holes 17 through the right side wall 13 of the base 10, the guide blocks 34 of each insertion tube 30 are inserted separately into the right engagement grooves 19 of the corresponding through hole 17, and the engagement hooks 35 of each insertion tube 30 engage separately in the left engagement grooves 18 of the corresponding through hole 17, with the stop section 32 of each insertion tube 30 bearing against the right side wall 13 and the two magnets 33 being arranged on the left side wall 12 of the base 10, thereby enabling the base 10 to be magnetically attached and thus secured to the surface of any magnetically permeable material. The above-described construction enables the adhesive tape dispenser according to the present invention, which can be magnetically attracted, to do without a heavy iron block and heavy iron sand, both of which are conventionally used to increase the weight of an adhesive tape dispenser for reasons of stability.
