Description

Technical area

[0001] The present invention relates to a device for feeding electronic components, a tape reel device, a tape processing device and a method for reloading a tape for receiving components and relates, for example, to a device for feeding electronic components for use in a device for mounting components for mounting an electronic component on a board for manufacturing an electronic circuit board. Background Art

[0002] An electronic component feeder is used in a component assembly device (chip assembly device) for the production of an electronic circuit board by mounting an electronic component onto a board with a trace pattern formed on it. This electronic component feeder serves to supply an electronic component for mounting on a board. Since different types of electronic components are handled by a component assembly device, several electronic component feeders are provided in the component assembly device, corresponding to the number of electronic components to be handled by the device.

[0003] A component assembly device comprises a component assembly head for removing an electronic component fed by an electronic component feeder and moves the electronic component to a predetermined position on a plate for assembly. The electronic component feeder conveys a component receiving belt that carries and receives an electronic component in such a way that the electronic component is moved to its removal position and exposes the electronic component on the component receiving belt so that the component assembly head can remove the electronic component. The technical background of this technical area is detailed in JP 2013-225 716 A.

[0004] A first part is mounted on a belt feeder (a device for feeding electronic components) mentioned in JP 2013-225 716 A. The first part comprises a belt roll holding unit for holding a belt roll onto which a belt-shaped component (a belt for receiving components) is wound, and a component feeder (a unit for exposing electronic components) from which an electronic component is taken. A second part is also mounted on the belt feeder, the second part comprising a conveying device for the belt-shaped component for conveying the belt for receiving components to the unit for exposing electronic components. The first and second parts can be provided separately from each other, with the first part being separable from the second part, which is used together with the first part.

[0005] In the electronic component feeding device described in JP 2013-225 716 A, the tape reel holding unit and the electronic component exposure unit, which are contained in the first part, cannot be separated. When the electronic component feeding device is re-equipped with a new tape for receiving components of the same type or a tape for receiving components of a different type, the first part, including both the tape reel holding unit and the electronic component exposure unit, must be replaced as a whole. This replacement process may change the arrangement position of the electronic component exposure unit, i.e., the removal position for the electronic components. This can lead to faulty component removal or the need to re-instruct a system regarding a removal position for the electronic components during the process of removing an electronic component by a component assembly head.

[0006] Furthermore, US 6,162,007 A describes a device comprising at least one feeder and a base unit for the successive advancement of one or more tapes containing electronic components. These components can be removed by a receiving device for, for example, installation on printed circuit boards. The feeder may include a body, a sprocket, a slide, and a one-way drive element. The body defines a guide through which a tape extends, and its sprocket is rotatably mounted in the body so that its teeth engage the tape and advance it when the sprocket is rotated. The drive element is attached to the slide, and the slide is movably mounted in the housing. The slider moves the drive element into contact with the pinion to rotate the pinion by an amount sufficient to advance the belt by an interval so that the next electronic component is exposed for removal from the feeder.

[0007] Furthermore, JP H04-39 997 A describes a supply spool attached to a mounting part of a supply unit. A tape, consisting of a base tape and a cover tape, is unwound from the supply spool, and the cover tape is peeled off the base tape. The tape is guided from the supply unit into a tape feeder, and electronic components are released from the tape. JP 2012-38 762 A further describes a feeder device with a drive unit for moving a feeder tape, which contains a carrier tape in which an electronic component is housed and a cover tape that covers the carrier tape, to a removal opening from which the electronic component is removed. The feeder device further includes a guide mechanism, which is provided with the removal opening and guides the feeder tape to a tape chute in which the feeder tape moves. The feeding device further includes a cutting device for cutting the cover tape and a guide part that prevents the cut cover tape from going beyond the dispensing opening.

[0008] Furthermore, CN 1 02 105 045 A describes a parts feeding device with a feeder for feeding a parts feeder belt to a predetermined parts removal position, wherein the parts feeder belt has a carrier belt and a cover belt with parts at constant intervals. The parts feeding device further includes a separating device for separating the cover belt from the carrier belt by peeling off the cover belt. A control mechanism is also provided for controlling a first motor used to drive the feeding device and a second motor used to drive the separating device. The control mechanism drives the second motor to control the separating device.

[0009] Furthermore, JP 2004-71760A describes a placement device for electronic components, with a feeder on a main carriage and a feeder roller on a secondary carriage. Summary of the invention

[0010] It is an object of the present invention to provide a device for supplying electronic components, which is suitable for the reliable removal and supply of an electronic component housed on a belt for receiving components, a belt roller device, a belt processing device and a method for reloading a belt for receiving components.

[0011] The invention is defined by the independent claims, while preferred embodiments form the subject of the dependent claims.

Description of embodiments

[0013] Embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In the following drawings, corresponding or identical elements are designated by the same reference numerals to avoid any overlapping descriptions. The sizes and shapes of the elements may be shown schematically, perhaps altered or highlighted for the sake of clarity. [First embodiment]

[0014] Fig. Figure 1 is a top view showing a configuration of a device 50 for mounting components, to which a device 1 for feeding electronic components according to a first embodiment of the present invention is applied. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 1, the device 50 for assembling components is a device for assembling an electronic component 105 (see Figure 1). Fig. 2) on a plate 52 for the production of an electronic circuit board. In particular, the component mounting device 50 automatically mounts (fastens) the electronic component 105 at a predetermined position (a part where solder paste is applied) on the plate 52, which is transported by a plate transport device 51. A conductor pattern made of copper foil or the like is formed on the plate 52, which is made of epoxy resin or the like, by etching, printing, or the like.

[0015] The plate 52, on which the electronic component 105 is mounted with solder paste placed between it and the plate, is heated in a subsequent step in an oven (not shown). This results in the electronic component 105 being soldered onto the plate 52 to produce an electronic circuit board with the electronic component 105 mounted on it. On a base 59 of the device 50 for mounting components, two component feed units 53 are provided on both sides such that they are opposite each other, with the plate transport device 51 (which is arranged according to Fig. 1 (extends in a horizontal direction on the sheet) is provided between them. Fig. Figure 1 shows an example in which two sets (two stages) of pairs of component feed units 53 are arranged along a transport direction of the plate 52.

[0016] Several of the electronic component feeding devices 1 are aligned along the transport direction of the plate 52 such that they are separable from the component feeding unit 53 and feed each of the various electronic components 105 to a removal position (component attraction position) of each electronic component. These electronic component feeding devices 1 are arranged in parallel so that they lie next to each other with a small gap (a gap of approximately 1 mm or less).

[0017] The plate transport device 51 comprises a transport unit that moves the plate and a plate holding unit that positions and holds the plate 52, which is transported from a direction indicated by arrow A to a predetermined position (both not shown). After the electronic component 105 is attached to the plate 52, the plate transport device 51 moves the plate 52 in a direction indicated by arrow B.

[0018] Fig. Figure 2 is a perspective view showing a state in which a tape 100 wound onto a tape reel 8 provided in the device 1 for supplying electronic components is used to receive components (see Fig. 4) is fed from the tape reel 8. The tape 100 for receiving components has a carrier tape 101 with the electronic component 105 housed in a component receiving section 103 and a cover tape 104 that covers the component receiving section 103 on which the electronic component 105 is housed. In Fig. For the sake of simplicity, only the electronic component 105 located in the component mounting section 103 on the front side is shown in Figure 2.

[0019] Several excluded component receiving sections 103 are aligned along a longitudinal direction of the carrier belt 101. On one side of the carrier belt 101 along the longitudinal direction, several transport force transmission holes 102 are aligned for applying a transport force to the carrier belt 101.

[0020] The cover tape 104 is glued to the carrier tape 101 in such a way that it covers an upper opening of the component receiving section 103 in which the electronic component 105 is housed. This prevents the electronic component 105 from falling out during the movement of the tape 100 for receiving components, and protects the electronic component 105 from environmental influences (e.g. moisture).

[0021] In an initial state, the component-receiving belt 100 in the device 1 for feeding electronic components is wound onto the belt reel 8 as described above. When the component-receiving belt 100 in the device 1 for feeding electronic components enters an operating state, a transport force is applied to the component-receiving belt 100 via the transport force transmission holes 102, and the component-receiving belt 100 is fed. The component-receiving belt 100 is conveyed in such a way that the electronic component 105 reaches its removal position, and the electronic component 105 is exposed for removal from the component-receiving belt 100. Subsequently, the electronic component 105 is inserted into the component-receiving section 103 of the component-receiving belt 100 by a nozzle 81 (see Fig. 10) of a component mounting head 54 (see Fig. 1) drawn in and removed by negative pressure.

[0022] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 1, a pair of X-struts 55 are arranged opposite each other, with the plate transport device 51 positioned between them, and the struts extending along a direction (a direction indicated by arrows A and B) in which the plate 52 is transported. The two X-struts 55 are positioned above the plate transport device 51 (according to Figure 1). Fig. 1 arranged in a direction perpendicular to the sheet on a front side).

[0023] Actuators (e.g., linear motors, not shown) are attached to both end sections of the X-strut 55. This actuator holds the X-strut 55 so that it is movable along a Y-strut 57 in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the plate 52 is transported (the direction of arrows A and B). Fig. 1 on the sheet a vertical direction). Accordingly, movement of the X-strut 55 to the rear and front is enabled between the component feed unit 53 and the plate 52.

[0024] The component mounting head 54 is arranged on the X-strut 55. The component mounting head 54 is moved along a longitudinal direction (an extension direction) of the X-strut 55 by an actuator (e.g., a linear motor) (not shown). One end of the component mounting head 54 (on a rear side of the X-strut 55) Fig. 1 component mounting head 54 shown in the according to Fig. 1 to the leaf vertical direction) is with several of the nozzles 81 (see Fig. 10) for suction of the electronic component 105 (see Fig. 2) in the component receiving section 103 of the band 100 described above for receiving components. Furthermore, the component mounting head 54 is moved by the actuator of the X-strut 55 described above along a direction of extension of the Y-strut 57.

[0025] Therefore, the component mounting head 54 is mounted in a horizontal direction (one according to Fig. 1 in a direction parallel to the sheet). Accordingly, the electronic component 105, which is supplied by the device 1 arranged in the component feed unit 53 for supplying electronic components, is attracted by the nozzle 81 of the component assembly head 54 and then moved in the horizontal direction so that it is conveyed to a predetermined position (a mounting position) on the plate 52 for assembly.

[0026] After the electronic component 105 has been pressed into the predetermined position (a part onto which solder paste is applied) of the plate 52 by the component assembly head 54, a vacuum is released from the nozzle 81. This mounts the electronic component 105 onto the plate 52.

[0027] A recognition camera 56 and a nozzle holding unit 58 are arranged between the component feed unit 53 and the plate transport device 51.

[0028] The detection camera 56, for example, is a CCD camera (CCD, Charge Coupled Device) for capturing positional deviation information of the electronic component 105 attracted by the component assembly head 54. Using an image of the electronic component 105 attracted by the component assembly head 54, captured by the detection camera, the following is checked: how far does the electronic component 105 deviate in the transport direction of the plate (the direction of arrows A and B) and in a direction perpendicular to the transport direction of the plate, or what is the rotation angle of the electronic component 105? It goes without saying that, using an image captured by the detection camera 56, it is also possible to check whether the electronic component 105 is attracted by the component assembly head 54 or not.

[0029] When the component assembly head 54 moves from the component feed unit 53 in the extension direction of the X-strut 55 or the extension direction of the Y-strut 57 across the plate 52, the component assembly head 54 moves over the recognition camera 56. During this movement, the recognition camera 56 takes an image of the electronic component 105 to capture position deviation information or the like.

[0030] The nozzle holding unit 58 holds several of the nozzles 81 attached to the component mounting head 54 (see Fig. 10), wherein the nozzles are required for attaching the various electronic components 105. For example, if the instruction is given to replace one nozzle with another nozzle suitable for a specific electronic component 105, the component assembly head 54 moves independently in the extension direction of the X-strut 55 and the extension direction of the Y-strut 57 to move towards the nozzle holding unit 58. Then the nozzle 81 attached to the component assembly head 54 is replaced by the intended nozzle, which is held in the nozzle holding unit 58. Fig. Figure 3 is a perspective view of the device 1 for feeding electronic components in a state where a tape reel device 2 and a tape processing device 3 are separated from each other. For a more illustrative description, as in Fig. Figure 3 shows the directions from front to back, horizontally and vertically. The vertical direction corresponds to a perpendicular direction. The front-to-back direction is shown according to... Fig. 1. A direction perpendicular to the transport direction of the plate (the direction of arrows A and B), where "front" represents a direction closer to the plate transport device 51 and "rear" represents a direction farther away from the plate transport device 51. The horizontal direction is defined according to Fig. 1. A direction along the transport direction of the plate (the direction of arrows A and B).

[0031] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, the device 1 for feeding electronic components comprises the tape reel device 2 and the tape processing device 3. The tape reel device 2 is separable from the tape processing device 3. The tape reel device 2 has a housing 85 for accommodating various components inside, and the tape processing device 3 has a housing 86 for accommodating various components inside. The housings 85 and 86 can be subdivided into a right and a left housing. The housings 85 and 86 are made, for example, of a metal such as an aluminum alloy. The housing 85 of the tape reel device 2 has an inverted L-shape and a rearwardly projecting projection 85A. The housing 86 of the tape processing device 3 has an L-shape and a forwardly projecting projection 86A.When the housings 85 and 86 are integrated, the projections 85A and 86A overlap each other in the vertical direction, resulting in a rectangular housing that is long in the front-to-back direction (see . Fig. 4).

[0032] Fig. Figure 4 is a drawing showing a configuration of the device 1 for feeding electronic components in a state in which the tape processing device 3 is attached to the tape roller device 2. Fig. Figure 4 shows such an internal configuration of the device 1 for supplying electronic components that the view passes through the housing 85 and the housing 86 (the same applies to Fig. 5 to Fig. 9 and Fig. 20 to Fig. 26). The tape roller device 2 has the tape roller 8 onto which the tape 100 for receiving components is wound, on which the electronic component 105 is housed (see Fig. 2) In the belt roller device 2, an upstream motor (a motor; a first motor) 5 is arranged to apply a driving force for conveying the belt 100 to receive components.

[0033] The tape processing device 3 comprises a unit 18 for exposing electronic components, which exposes the electronic component 105, housed in the tape 100 conveyed by the tape roller device 2 for component holding, for removal from the tape 100. The tape processing device 3 includes a downstream motor (one motor; a second motor) 4 for applying a drive force to feed the tape 100 for component holding. Furthermore, the tape processing device 3 includes a control board 6 for controlling the downstream motor 4, the upstream motor 5, and the like.

[0034] Fig. Figure 5 is a drawing that illustrates a configuration of the strip processing device 3. The strip processing device 3 includes downstream pinions 87 with teeth (see Figure 5). Fig. 10), which are connected to the transport force transmission holes 102 (see Fig. 2) of the carrier belt 101 engage in order to apply a transport force to the belt 100 for receiving components (see Fig. 4) The downstream pinions 87 comprise a first pinion 13 and a second pinion 14. The first pinion 13 and the second pinion 14, which are connected in such a way as to be suitable for power transmission, operate synchronously or substantially synchronously. The first pinion 13 has a worm gear 13H suitable for a worm gear 12. The worm gear 12, which engages with the worm gear 13H, is connected to the downstream motor 4 via a motor shaft 11. Accordingly, rotation of the downstream motor 4 causes rotation of the first pinion 13 and the second pinion 14 to transport the belt 100 to receive components.

[0035] The housing 86 of the strip processing device 3 is equipped with a second positioning slide guide 16 for guiding and positioning the strip roller device 2 (see Fig. 4) and a first positioning slide guide 17 for guiding and positioning on a cart 40 (see Fig. 12). Although the second positioning slide guide 16, for example, is a linear, convex section referred to as a dovetail tenon and the first positioning slide guide 17, for example, is a linear, concave section referred to as a dovetail groove (see Fig. 3), the guided tours are not limited to that.

[0036] The tape processing device 3 comprises the unit 18 described above for exposing electronic components. The unit 18 for exposing electronic components comprises a cover 181 with a section in the shape of an inverted U and is equipped with a removal opening 183 (see Fig. 3) for the electronic component 105 (see Fig. 2) provided. The cover 181 is to be opened about a central axis of a pin 182 arranged at a front end of the cover 181.

[0037] Furthermore, the tape processing device 3 includes a first connecting element 7 for supplying current and for sending / receiving a signal to / from the cart 40 (see Fig. 12) and a second connecting element 15 for supplying power and for sending / receiving a signal to / from the tape reel device 2 (see Fig. 4).

[0038] The belt processing device 3 configured in this way enables continuous conveying of the belt 100 for receiving components (see Fig. 4) and exposing the electronic component 105 (see Fig. 2) through unit 18 for exposing electronic components for the removal of electronic component 105.

[0039] Fig. Figure 6 is a drawing depicting a configuration of the tape roller device 2. The tape roller device 2 comprises the tape roller 8 described above. The tape roller 8 is rotatably held by a tape roller shaft 23 provided in the housing 85. The tape roller device 2 includes a tape guide cover 35 with a section in the shape of an inverted U and guides the tape 100 to receive components. The tape guide cover 35 is to be opened about a central axis of a pin 351, which is arranged at a rear end section of the tape guide cover 35.

[0040] The band roller device 2 includes upstream pinion gears 88 with teeth (see Fig. 10), which are used to apply a transport force to the belt 100 for receiving components with the transport force transmission holes 102 (see Fig. 2) of the carrier belt 101 engage. The upstream pinions 88 comprise a third pinion 30 and a fourth pinion 31. The third pinion 30 and the fourth pinion 31, which are connected in such a way as to be suitable for transmitting power, operate synchronously or substantially synchronously. The third pinion 30 comprises a worm gear 30H suitable for a worm gear 29. The worm gear 29, which engages with the worm gear 30H, is coupled to a shaft 28, and the shaft 28 is connected to the upstream motor 5 via a gearbox 27 and a motor shaft 26. For example, two meshing bevel gears can be used as the gearbox 27. The housing 85 of the band roller device 2 is provided with a third positioning slide guide 34, which is to be guided and positioned on the band processing device 3.Although the third positioning slide guide 34 is a linear concave section, formed, for example, by a dovetail groove (see . Fig. 3), the guidance is not limited to this. The third positioning slide guide 34 engages with the second positioning slide guide 16 in a sliding direction from front to back (see Fig. 5) The tape reel device 2 includes a third connecting element 25 for supplying power and for sending / receiving a signal to / from the tape processing device 3.

[0041] The tape reel device 2 comprises a first handle 9 and a second handle 24 for handling the tape reel device 2, and the device 1 for feeding electronic components is coupled to the tape reel device 2 and the tape processing device 3. Although the first handle 9 and the second handle 24 can be handled by a machine, the handles can also be handled manually by an operator. Furthermore, the tape reel device 2 comprises a first sensor 32 and a second sensor 33 for detecting the presence / absence of the tape 100 for receiving components. Next, with reference to Fig. 7 to Fig. 9 a description of how the belt 100 moves to receive components in the belt roller device 2. Fig. 7 to Fig. Figure 9 shows a procedure for placing the belt 100 for receiving components in the belt roller device 2.

[0042] First, the tape roller device 2 is brought into a state in which it is suitable for sending / receiving current and a signal to / from the third connecting element 25. Then, as described in Fig. Figure 7 shows an operator actuating the first handle 9 to rotate the tape guide cover 35 about the central axis of the pin 351, thereby opening it upwards, the tape guide cover 35 covering a tape guide 36 arranged in an upper part of the tape roller device 2 (see also Fig. 3) At this point, a sensor (not shown) detects that the tape guide cover 35 is in the open state, and the information that the tape guide cover 35 is in the open state is stored in a control device (not shown). Subsequently, a hole unit provided in the center of the tape reel 8, onto which the tape 100 is wound for receiving components, is fitted onto the tape reel shaft 23. Then, the tape 100 for receiving components is fed from the tape reel 8 to pull its front end over a position of the fourth pinion 31.

[0043] The operator then operates as described in Fig. Figure 8 shows the first handle 9 for closing the tape guide cover 35. When the tape guide cover 35 is closed, the sensor (not shown) detects that the tape guide cover 35 is closed and sends the information to the control device (not shown) that the tape guide cover 35 is closed. If the first sensor 32 detects the presence of the tape 100 for receiving components at this time, the control device sends an actuation command to the upstream motor 5. Even if the first sensor 32 detects the presence of the tape 100 for receiving components, the control device refrains from sending an actuation command to the upstream motor 5 unless it receives the information that the tape guide cover 35 is in the closed state.

[0044] If subsequently, as in Fig. As shown in Figure 9, when the actuation command is sent to the upstream motor 5, force is transmitted via the motor shaft 26, the gearbox 27, the shaft 28, and the worm gear 29 to the third pinion 30. This causes the third pinion 30 and the fourth pinion 31 to rotate in such a way that the conveyor belt 100 is transported forward. As the upstream pinion 88 continues to rotate, causing the leading end of the conveyor belt 100 to reach the second sensor 33, the second sensor 33 detects the presence of the conveyor belt 100. When the second sensor 33 detects the presence of the conveyor belt 100, the control device (not shown) sends a stop command to the upstream motor 5.

[0045] As with reference to Fig. 7 to Fig. As described in section 9, simply fixing the belt roller 8 to the belt roller device 2 enables the front end of the belt 100 to be automatically extended to receive components. Next, with reference to Fig. 10 and Fig. 11 a further description of a method for exposing the electronic component 105 and a method for processing the tape 100 for receiving components. Fig. Figure 10 is a drawing showing how the electronic component 105 is exposed. Fig. Figure 11 is a drawing that illustrates how the band 100 is processed to hold components.

[0046] The unit 18 for exposing electronic components has an edge 184. By cutting the cover strip 104 of the component-holding strip 100 with the edge 184, the electronic component 105 is exposed. Here, the component-holding strip 100 is moved in the direction of arrow C by a rotation of the downstream pinion 87 and the upstream pinion 88. This enables the unit 18 for exposing electronic components to cut open a region around the central part of the cover strip 104 in a width direction with the edge 184 in the direction of arrow D, without the cover strip 104 being removed from the carrier strip 101, thus exposing the electronic component 105 for removal.

[0047] The tape 100, wound onto the tape reel 8 and used to hold components, is conveyed in the direction of arrow C by the downstream pinion 87 and the upstream pinion 88. The electronic component exposure unit 18 exposes the electronic component 105 by cutting the cover tape 104 with the edge 184, thereby partially peeling the cover tape 104 away from the carrier tape 101. The exposed electronic component 105 is attracted and held by the nozzle 81, which is attached to one end of a component attraction and holding device 80, in the direction of arrow D due to an up-and-down movement in which the nozzle 81 is attached to the nozzle 81 in the direction of arrow D. The cover strip 104, cut open and partially removed by the edge 184, is conveyed in the direction of an arrow E by the rotation of the downstream pinion 87 and the upstream pinion 88 together with the carrier strip 101 and is then cut by a cutting unit 89.

[0048] Fig. Figure 12 is a drawing depicting a configuration of the cart 40 on which several devices 1 for feeding electronic components are mounted. The cart 40, on which several of the devices 1 for feeding electronic components are mounted, is in the component feeding unit 53 (see Figure 12). Fig. 1) the device 50 for assembling components. The cart 40 comprises a support stand 41 which holds several of the devices 1 for supplying electronic components and several wheels 42 which keep the support stand 41 movable.

[0049] The support stand 41 is provided with a fourth positioning slide guide 44, which engages with the first positioning slide guide 17 of the electronic component feeder 1 to hold and position the electronic component feeder 1. Although the fourth positioning slide guide 44 is, for example, a linear, convex section referred to as a dovetail pin, its function is not limited to this. The support stand 41 is provided with a fourth connecting element 45 for the electronic component feeder 1 via the carriage 40 for transmitting / receiving force and a signal. The connection of the first connecting element 7 of the device 1 for supplying electronic components with the fourth connecting element 45 of the cart 40 and the engagement of the first positioning slide guide 17 in the fourth positioning slide guide 44 result in a positioning of the device 1 for supplying electronic components on the cart 40.

[0050] Therefore, attaching the cart 40 to the component feed unit 53 (see Fig. 1) The mounting of several of the devices 1 for feeding electronic components onto the device 50 for assembling components. By enabling several of the devices 1 for feeding electronic components to be connected to the cart 40, the provision of several types of belt 100 for receiving components is made possible.

[0051] Fig. 13 is a drawing that represents a configuration of the self-propelled cart (the cart) 60, which is positioned behind the one in Fig. The self-propelled cart 60, as shown in Figure 12, is arranged so that it is opposite the cart 40. The self-propelled cart 60 comprises a support stand 61 for the belt roller device (a unit for holding the belt roller device) and several wheels 62 that hold the support stand 61 for the belt roller device so that it is freely movable. Several of the belt roller devices 2 are arranged parallel along the horizontal direction on the support stand 61 for the belt roller device.

[0052] The self-propelled cart 60 comprises a first gripping unit 67 and a second gripping unit 68, each grasping the first handle 9 and the second handle 24 of the belt roller device 2, an arm 66 that holds the first gripping unit 67 and the second gripping unit 68, a direct-acting device 65 that holds the arm 66 so that it is movable in the horizontal direction, and a support 64 that holds the direct-acting device 65. The support 64 is held by a direct-acting device (not shown) that is movable in the front-to-back direction, so that it is movable in the front-to-back direction.

[0053] A reading device 70 for detecting a reference mark 69 provided on the cart 40 is mounted on the self-propelled cart 60. The reference mark 69 is provided, for example, at each of several positions on the cart 40 where the strip processing device 3 is to be arranged, and the reading device 70 is provided at each of several positions on the self-propelled cart 60 where the strip roller device 2 is to be arranged. However, the reference mark 69 can also be provided on the self-propelled cart 60, in which case the reading device 70 is mounted on the cart 40.

[0054] As with reference to Fig. As described in Figure 13, the self-propelled cart 60 is positioned at a predetermined location due to its free mobility, such that the reference mark 69 is detected by the reading device 70. A position at which the self-propelled cart 60 is positioned is one at which the third positioning slide guide 34 of the strip roller assembly 2 mounted on the self-propelled cart 60 can be fitted into the second positioning slide guide 16 of the strip processing device 3. This enables the positioning of a desired strip roller assembly 2 at any strip processing device 3.

[0055] Next, with reference to Fig. 13 to Fig. 16 a description of a method for attaching the belt roller device 2 to the belt processing device 3 using the self-propelled cart 60. Fig. 14 to Fig. Figure 16 shows a method for attaching the belt roller device 2, which is held on the self-propelled cart 60, to the belt processing device 3, which is arranged on the cart 40.

[0056] If, as in Fig. 13 shows a belt processing device 3 in which a reloading with the belt 100 for receiving components (see Fig. 4) is required, the self-propelled cart 60 initiates, in accordance with an instruction from the control device 90 (see Fig. 18) the arrangement of the relevant belt roller device 2, mounted on the self-propelled cart 60, in a corresponding position behind the relevant belt processing device 3, mounted on the cart 40. Subsequently, the directly acting device 65, mounted on the carrier 64, causes the first gripping unit 67 and the second gripping unit 68, which are movably held by the arm 66, to grip the first handle 9 and the second handle 24 respectively.

[0057] Then moved, as in Fig. Figure 14 shows a (not shown) directly acting device that moves the carrier 64 in the forward direction when the first gripping unit 67 and the second gripping unit 68 grasp the belt roller device 2. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 15, the carrier 64 is moved further forward to connect the second connecting element 15 to the third connecting element 25, and the second positioning slide guide 16 engages with the third positioning slide guide 34 to position the tape roller device 2 on the tape processing device 3 and ultimately on the carriage 40. This completes the fastening (adjustment) of the tape roller device 2 to the tape processing device 3 for configuring the device 1 for feeding electronic components.

[0058] Subsequently, the device 1 is used to supply electronic components, as described in Fig. Figure 16 shows the engagement of the first gripping unit 67 and the second gripping unit 68 released. The carrier 64 is then returned to its original position to prepare for handling a subsequent belt roller device. In some cases, the self-propelled cart 60 can move to load another cart 40 with the belt 100 for receiving components.

[0059] Fig. Figure 17 is a top view showing the operation of the self-propelled cart 60.

[0060] The device 50 for assembling components comprises several stages ST1 and ST2. Although in Fig. Although two stages are shown in Figure 17 for the sake of simplicity, the number of stages is not limited to this, and the device 50 for assembling components can include any number of stages. Although in Fig. Figure 17 shows a plate transport device 51; however, the number of transport devices is not limited to this, and, for example, two plate transport devices 51 can be provided for the simultaneous transport of two plates. Although according to Fig. 17 Furthermore, if several of the belt roller devices 2 arranged in parallel on the self-propelled cart 60 are spaced apart by two devices, the arrangement of the devices is not limited to this and can be suitably modified.

[0061] Plate 52 is positioned from the direction of arrow A according to Fig. 17 is brought into the device 50 for assembling components and transported out in the direction of arrow B for a subsequent step. In the component feeder unit 53, the cart 40 is arranged in the device 50 for assembling components in each of the stages ST1 and ST2. Each of the component feeder units 53 comprises the cart 40 on which several of the devices 1 for feeding electronic components described above are mounted.

[0062] For example, in connection with the self-propelled cart 60 arranged in stage ST1, a state is shown in which the belt roller device 2 of the component feed unit 53 is delivered by the self-propelled cart 60. In connection with the self-propelled cart 60 arranged in stage ST2, a state is shown in which the belt roller device 2 including the belt roller 8 (see Fig. 4), where the feeding of the conveyor belt 100 for receiving components is completed, is retrieved by the component feed unit 53 onto the self-propelled cart 60. Accordingly, such a configuration of a production system, whereby a plan for reloading the conveyor belt 100 for receiving components by the self-propelled cart 60 is assigned to an assembly plan for the plate 52, enables automatic reloading with the conveyor belt 100 for receiving components.

[0063] Next, with reference to Fig. 18 and Fig. 19 describes a processing of the band 100 for the intake of components. Fig. Figure 18 is a block diagram showing an example of a configuration of the control device 90 attached to the device 50 for mounting components. Fig. Figure 19 is a flowchart showing a processing procedure for carrying out a method for re-assembly with the tape 100 for receiving components.

[0064] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 18, the control device 90 comprises a data processing unit 91, a storage unit 92, a display unit 93, and an input device 94. A standard PC (personal computer) can be used as the control device 90, for example. The data processing unit 91 comprises a CPU and, following a program, controls each of the units described above, performs various calculations, and the like.

[0065] The storage unit 92 comprises a ROM for pre-storing various programs and data, a RAM as a working area for temporarily storing a program and data, and a hard disk for storing various programs and data, which is also used to store results obtained through data processing or the like. The display unit 93 is a display such as an LCD and shows various types of information, such as calculation results obtained from the data processing unit 91. The input device 94, which includes a keyboard, a mouse, an input interface to an external device, and the like, is used for inputting various types of information.

[0066] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 19, in step S11, with device 1 for feeding electronic components arranged on the trolley 40, including the belt roller device 2 attached to the belt processing device 3, the control device 90 initiates operation of the device 50 for assembling components. The belt 100 for receiving components is advanced by actuating the upstream motor 5 and the downstream motor 4 of the device 1 for feeding electronic components, such that the electronic component 105 is fed to the device 50 for assembling components.

[0067] In step S12, a determination is made as to whether or not a warning regarding a component shortage is issued. More precisely, the control device 90 uses a sensor (not shown) or similar device to detect the remaining tape to determine whether only a small amount of tape 100 remains for receiving components in the device 1 for feeding electronic components. If no component shortage warning is issued in step S12 (No in step S12), the procedure returns to step S11, allowing the device 50 to continue its component assembly operation.

[0068] If, on the other hand, a warning regarding a component shortage occurs in step S12 (Yes in step S12), a component shortage warning alarm is issued (step S13). This alarm can be displayed on the display unit 93 contained in the control device 90 or issued via a buzzer or similar sound.

[0069] Subsequently, in step S14, in the device 1 for feeding electronic components, to which a warning regarding a component shortage is to be issued, the tape roller device 2 is removed from the tape processing device 3, to which the tape roller device 2 is attached. The removal of the tape roller device 2 from the tape processing device 3 is carried out automatically according to an instruction from the control device 90 using the self-propelled cart 60. However, the removal of the tape roller device 2 can also be carried out manually.

[0070] Subsequently, in step S15, after the removal of the belt roller device 2 in step S14, another belt roller device 2 is attached to the belt processing device 3. Although the other belt roller device 2 is normally of the same type as the previously attached one, a different type of belt roller device can be used. The operation of attaching the other belt roller device 2 to the belt processing device 3 is performed automatically according to an instruction from the control device 90 using the self-propelled cart 60. However, the operation of attaching the belt roller device 2 can also be performed manually.

[0071] Then, in step S16, following the rear end of the preceding belt 100 remaining in the device 1 for feeding electronic components, the newly fed belt 100 for receiving components is automatically conveyed into the newly attached other belt roller device 2 by the operation of the upstream motor 5 and the downstream motor 4. The procedure then returns to step S11, so that the device 50 for assembling components is actuated.

[0072] As described above, in the present embodiment, the device 1 for feeding electronic components comprises the tape reel device 2 with the tape reel 8, onto which the tape 100 for receiving components is wound, and the tape processing device 3 with the unit 18 for exposing electronic components, which causes the electronic component 105 housed in the tape 100 for receiving components to be exposed for removal from the tape 100. The tape reel device 2 is separable from the tape processing device 3.

[0073] In such a configuration, replacing the tape roller device 2 with the tape processing device 3 arranged and attached to the component feed unit 53 allows the device 1 for feeding electronic components to be re-equipped with a new tape for receiving components of the same type or a tape for receiving components of a different type. This eliminates the need to change the arrangement position of the unit 18 for exposing electronic components, i.e., a removal position (a component attraction position) of the electronic component 105. Thus, the configuration reduces the likelihood of faulty component removal caused by a deviation in the removal position of the electronic component 105. The need to re-instruct the device 50 for assembling components (the system) with respect to a removal position of the electronic component 105 is also eliminated. In other words, the device 1 for supplying electronic components can reliably remove and supply the electronic component 105 housed in the belt 100 for receiving components.

[0074] In the present embodiment, the unit 18 for exposing electronic components comprises the edge 184 for cutting the cover strip 104 of the component-holding strip 100, so that the electronic component 105 is exposed by the cutting. In such a configuration, transporting the newly fed component-holding strip 100 following a rear end of the preceding component-holding strip 100 allows the electronic component 105 to be exposed without removing the cover strip 104 from the carrier strip 101. Accordingly, it is not necessary to perform unnecessary "splicing" to connect a rear end of a preceding component-holding strip to a front end of a newly fed, subsequent component-holding strip, which requires skill and time from the operator.

[0075] In the present embodiment, the removed tape roller assembly 2 is retrieved from the tape processing device 3 and placed in the holding stand 61 for the tape roller assembly provided on the movable self-propelled cart 60. At the time another tape roller assembly 2 is attached to the tape processing device 3, the other tape roller assembly 2 is fed from the holding stand 61 of the self-propelled cart 60. Such a configuration enables the efficient and rapid reloading of the tape 100 for receiving components.Such a design of the self-propelled cart 60, in that it is freely movable within a production line of the device 50 for the assembly of components for the automatic delivery and retrieval of the belt roller device 2, enables a reduction of errors caused by an operator, thereby improving the efficiency of the work of reloading with the belt 100 for receiving components and realizing a saving of work.

[0076] In the present embodiment, a motor is arranged in both the belt roller device 2 and the belt processing device 3, providing a drive force for conveying the belt 100 to receive components. More precisely, the upstream motor 5 (the first motor) is arranged in the belt roller device 2, whereas the downstream motor 4 (the second motor) is arranged in the belt processing device 3. In such a configuration, the use of the two respective motors 4 and 5 of the belt processing device 3 and the belt roller device 2 enables high-speed transport of the belt 100 to receive components by means of a high drive force. The belt roller device 2 can be operated independently by providing a power source, a control board for controlling the upstream motor 5, and a control device (e.g., a computer). This allows for individual execution of an operational check and a prior search for the front end of the belt 100 to accommodate components. [Second embodiment]

[0077] Next, with reference to Fig. 20 and Fig. 21 A second embodiment of the present invention is described mainly with regard to the points that differ from the first embodiment described above, omitting a description of common points. Fig. Figure 20 is a drawing showing a configuration of a device 1a for supplying electronic components with a belt processing device 3a attached to a belt roller device 2a according to the second embodiment of the present invention. Fig. Figure 21 is a drawing that shows a configuration of the belt roller device 2a according to the second embodiment.

[0078] The second embodiment of the present invention differs from the one described in Fig. 4 first embodiment shown in that the tape processing device 3a comprises a first control board 6a for controlling a downstream motor 4 or the like and that the tape roller device 2a comprises a second control board 10 for controlling a upstream motor 5 or the like.

[0079] In this second embodiment, the provision of the second control board 10 in the tape reel device 2a enables individual operation of the tape reel device 2a by providing a power source and a control device (e.g. a computer). [Third embodiment]

[0080] Next, with reference to Fig. 22 to Fig. 24 A third embodiment of the present invention is described mainly with regard to points that differ from the first embodiment described above, omitting the description of common points. Fig. Figure 22 is a drawing showing a configuration of a device 1b for supplying electronic components with a tape processing device 3b attached to a tape roller device 2b according to the third embodiment of the present invention. Fig. Figure 23 is a drawing that shows a configuration of the belt processing device 3b according to the third embodiment. Fig. Figure 24 is a drawing showing a configuration of the belt roller device 2b according to the third embodiment.

[0081] The third embodiment of the present invention differs from the one described in Fig. The first embodiment shown in Figure 4 is distinguished by the fact that the strip processing device 3b comprises an upstream motor 5 and an downstream motor 4. More precisely, a motor that provides a driving force for conveying a strip 100 to hold components is arranged only in the strip processing device 3b outside the strip roller device 2b and the strip processing device 3b. In other words, the strip processing device 3b is equipped not only with the downstream motor 4, which drives the pinions 13 and 14 of the strip processing device 3b, but also with the upstream motor 5, which drives the pinions 30 and 31 of the strip roller device 2b.

[0082] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 24, a worm gear 37, meshing with a worm gear 30H, is coupled to a shaft 38, and the shaft 38 is coupled to a gear 39 (a drive input unit). As shown in Fig. 22 and Fig. As shown in Figure 23, gear 39 is engaged with a gearbox 22. The gearbox 22 is coupled to a shaft 21, and the shaft 21 is connected to the upstream motor 5 via a gearbox 20 and a motor shaft 19. For example, two meshing bevel gears can be used as the gearbox 20. The belt roller assembly 2b itself has no drive source, and the pinions 30 and 31 are driven by a driving force from the upstream motor 5, which is transmitted to gear 39, causing them to rotate.

[0083] Since in this third embodiment the belt roller device 2b is neither equipped with a motor nor with a control board, no structural strength is required. Accordingly, the housing 85 of the belt roller device 2b can be made of molded plastic in one piece, which, for example, results in weight savings and cost reductions.

[0084] A configuration in which several belt roller devices 2b can be attached simultaneously to a belt processing device 3b allows for an increase in the strength in the horizontal direction of the belt processing device 3b and an increase in the size (diameter) of a shared motor, such as the upstream motor 5 and the downstream motor 4. This enables high-speed transport of the belt 100 for receiving components by means of a high driving force. The belt processing device 3b only needs to be equipped with one motor to provide a driving force, which is distributed by a gearbox as driving force for its own pinions 13 and 14 and driving force for the pinions 30 and 31 of the belt roller device 2b. [Fourth embodiment]

[0085] Next, with reference to Fig. 25 and Fig. 26 A fourth embodiment of the present invention is described mainly with regard to the points that differ from the third embodiment described above, omitting the description of common points. Fig. Figure 25 is a drawing showing a configuration of a device 1c for feeding electronic components with a tape processing device 3c attached to a tape roller device 2c according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention. Fig. Figure 26 is a drawing that shows a configuration of the band roller device 2c according to the fourth embodiment.

[0086] The fourth embodiment of the present invention differs from the one described in Fig. 22 third embodiment shown in that the tape processing device 3c comprises a first control board 6a for controlling a downstream motor 4 and the like, and that the tape roller device 2c comprises a second control board 10 for controlling a upstream motor 5 and the like.

[0087] In this fourth embodiment, the provision of the control board 10 in the tape roller device 2c enables individual operation of the tape roller device 2c by providing a power source, a control device (e.g. a computer), a motor and the like. [Fifth embodiment]

[0088] Next, with reference to Fig. 27 and Fig. 28 a fifth embodiment of the present invention is described mainly with regard to the points which differ from the first embodiment described above, omitting the description of common points. Fig. Figure 27 is a drawing showing how an electronic component 105 is exposed in the fifth embodiment of the present invention. Fig. Figure 28 is a drawing illustrating how a band 100 is processed to receive components in the fifth embodiment of the present invention.

[0089] A unit 18a for exposing electronic components exposes the electronic component 105 by removing a cover strip 104 from the component support strip 100. The component support strip 100 is advanced by rotating a downstream pinion 87 in the direction of arrow C. The component support strip 100, wound onto a tape reel 8, is advanced by the downstream pinion 87 in the direction of arrow C. The unit 18a exposes the electronic component 105 by removing the cover strip 104 from a support strip 101. The exposed electronic component 105 is then attracted and held by a nozzle 81 in the direction of arrow D as a result of an up-and-down movement of a component attraction and fastening device 80 with a nozzle 81 attached to one end of the component attraction and fastening device 80.The removed cover strip 104 is conveyed by a cover strip feed device 82 in the direction of arrow F and stored in a (not shown) storage unit or the like. The carrier strip 101, from which the cover strip 104 was removed, is conveyed in the direction of arrow E and cut by a cutting unit 89.

[0090] Next, with reference to Fig. 29 a re-assembly process for the belt 100 for receiving components according to the fifth embodiment of the present invention is described. Fig. Figure 29 is a flowchart showing a processing procedure for carrying out a method for re-equipping with the tape 100 for receiving components according to the fifth embodiment of the present invention.

[0091] Since in the fifth embodiment the processing in steps S21 to S25 is combined with the processing in steps S11 to S15 according to Fig.If the description matches 19, it will be omitted.

[0092] In step S26, an operator performs a splice by connecting a rear end obtained by cutting the rear end section of a preceding tape 100 for receiving components with a specially provided shear in the electronic component feeder to a front end obtained by cutting the front end section of a newly fed tape 100 for receiving components in a newly attached other tape reel device with a specially provided shear. The procedure then returns to step S21, so that the component assembly device 50 is operated.

[0093] Therefore, the present invention is also applicable to a case in which the tape processing device of the device for feeding electronic components comprises the unit 18a for exposing electronic components, which exposes the electronic component 105 by peeling off the cover tape 104 from the tape 100 for receiving components. Although the cover tape 104 is glued to the carrier tape 101 on both sides of a component receiving section 103, which are perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the carrier tape 101, with the electronic component 105 being housed in the component receiving section 103, the present invention is applicable not only to a case in which, to expose the electronic component 105, both glued parts on both sides are peeled off, but also to a case in which, to expose the electronic component 105, only one glued part on one side is peeled off.More precisely, the present invention is also applicable to a case in which only an adhesive part on one side of the cover tape 104 is removed, and the removed cover tape 104 is bent in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the carrier tape 101 to open an upper surface of the carrier tape 101 with an adhesive part on the other side, thereby exposing the electronic component 105. Although the present invention has been described above with regard to the embodiments, it is not limited to the embodiments described above and includes various modifications. For example, the embodiments described above have been described in detail for the sake of clarity, and the present invention is not necessarily limited to those that include all the configurations described.A part of a configuration according to one embodiment can be replaced by a configuration according to another embodiment, and a configuration according to another embodiment can be added to a configuration according to one embodiment. A part of a configuration in each embodiment allows for the addition, omission, and replacement by other configurations.

[0094] For example, the structure of the device 50 for assembling components is not limited to the forms described in connection with the embodiments described above, but can take on a different form.

[0095] The present invention provides a device for supplying electronic components, which is suitable for the reliable removal and supply of an electronic component housed on a belt for receiving components, a belt roller device, a belt processing device and a method for reloading a belt for receiving components.
