Description of the embodiments illustrating the invention
[0006] A coil device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a conductor wire forming a coil, a coil base with a groove for receiving the conductor wire, and a stop that is separate from and attached to the coil base to cover the conductor wire, wherein the stop comprises a base section attached to the coil base at a position adjacent to the groove and a distal end section connected to the base section to cover the conductor wire, and wherein the base section of the stop is rotatable or the distal end section of the stop is deformable.
[0007] The stop is attached to the coil base of the coil assembly. The distal end of the stop covers the lead wire. The stop prevents the lead wire, positioned in the groove, from coming loose. This allows the lead wire to be securely positioned in the desired location within the groove. By rotating the base of the stop or by deforming the distal end, the distal end can be detached from where the lead wire is located in the groove. The lead wire can then be inserted into the groove. Returning the stop to its original position by rotating the base or by returning the deformed distal end to its original position causes the distal end to cover the lead wire. Consequently, the lead wire can be easily secured to the coil base.
[0008] In some embodiments, the coil base has a receiving section that extends through the groove, and the base section is arranged within this receiving section. When the base section is located within the receiving section, a portion of the stop can be accommodated in the coil base. This allows the coil base and stop to be designed compactly. It also facilitates covering the lead wire with the distal end section, as the base section is located close to the groove.
[0009] In some embodiments, the stop is completely enclosed within the receiving section and the groove and does not protrude from any surface of the coil base. Because the stop does not protrude from the surface of the coil base in this case, the lead wire is less likely to interfere with other components. The coil base, which holds the lead wire, can be easily mounted to the other components. This results in a generally compact coil assembly.
[0010] According to the invention, the base section of the stop is rotatable about an axis, and the distal end section of the stop is movable into a first position to cover the conductor wire and into a second position away from the groove. When the stop is in the first position, it prevents the conductor wire from coming out of the groove. When the stop is in the second position, the conductor wire can simply be placed in the groove.
[0011] According to the invention, the base section of the stop comprises a projection that can engage in a recess formed in a wall surface of the coil base. In this case, the engagement of the projection in the recess restricts the rotation of the stop. This prevents the stop from moving unintentionally and facilitates maintaining its position.
[0012] In an alternative aspect of the invention, the coil base comprises a projection that can engage in a recess in the base section of the stop. In this case, the engagement of the projection in the recess restricts the rotation of the stop. This facilitates maintaining the position of the stop.
[0013] In some embodiments, the stop comprises a base section, which is cylindrical and rotatable about its axis, and a plurality of teeth formed around the circumference of the base section, one of which covers the conductor wire as its distal end. When the conductor wire is positioned in the groove, it can rest against the teeth of the stop, but the rotation of the base section can reduce the stress on the conductor wire. The conductor wire can be easily inserted into the groove. Once the conductor wire is received, one of the teeth covers it in such a way that the conductor wire cannot be removed from the groove.
[0014] In some embodiments, the stop is made of an elastic material, and its distal end section is deformable. The deformable stop facilitates the positioning of the conductor wire in the groove. The elastic material of the stop also allows the distal end section to hold the conductor wire securely.
[0015] In the following, a coil device according to a first embodiment is described with reference to Fig. The coil device 1 is described in section 1. It can be used, for example, in a wireless power transmission system. The coil device 1 can be connected to a power transmitter or a power receiver of the wireless power transmission system. The power transmitter is installed, for example, in a parking lot. The power receiver is mounted, for example, on an electric vehicle. The wireless power transmission system is configured to supply power to the electric vehicle, for example, using a magnetic resonance method or an electromagnetic induction method.
[0016] The coil assembly 1 has, for example, a flat rectangular parallelepiped shape or a truncated cone shape. The coil assembly 1 comprises a flat base plate 6, a flat rectangular parallelepiped-shaped cover 7, a coil 10, a coil base 8, and a ferrite 9. A receiving space between the base plate 6 and the cover 7 accommodates, in that order, the base plate 6, the ferrite 9, the coil base 8, and the coil 10. For example, when the coil assembly 1 is mounted in an electric vehicle, the base plate 6 is attached to the vehicle body. The cover 7 faces the coil assembly of the power transmitter.
[0017] The base plate 6 ensures the rigidity of the coil assembly 1 and blocks the escape of stray flux. The base plate 6 is made, for example, of a non-magnetic, electrically conductive material (e.g., aluminum).
[0018] The cover 7 protects the coil 10, the base cover 8 and the ferrite 9. The cover 7 is made, for example, of a non-magnetic insulating material (for example, glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP)).
[0019] The coil 10 is capable of generating an induced current. The coil 10 is formed by a conducting wire 11 wound in a substantially rectangular spiral in the same plane. The coil 10 is, for example, circular. The circular type is an embodiment in which the conducting wire 11 is wound in a flat spiral. Viewed along the winding axis, the coil 10 can have any shape, such as rectangular, circular, or oval. The conducting wire 11 can, for example, be a solid wire, a stranded wire, or a busbar made of copper or aluminum.
[0020] The coil 10 comprises a coil former 12 wound in a substantially rectangular spiral, a drawn section 13 extending outside the receiving area from an outermost circumferential edge of the coil former 12 through an opening 7a in the cover 7, and a drawn section 14 extending outside the receiving area from an innermost circumferential edge of the coil former 12 through an opening 7b in the cover 7. The drawn sections 13 and 14 extend in the same direction. It should be noted that the drawn sections 13 and 14 can also extend in opposite directions.
[0021] The conductor wire 11 can be a stranded wire. A high-frequency current can flow through the conductor wire 11 of the coil device 1. Generally, the frequency of the current flowing through the conductor wire 11 is higher than the skin effect in the conductor wire 11. As the skin effect increases, the resistance of the conductor wire 11 rises, and heat loss can increase. The stranded wire is able to prevent the skin effect. The stranded wire has a structure in which several insulated conductor strands are twisted together.
[0022] The coil base 8 is arranged between the coil 10 and the base plate 6. The flat coil base 8 holds the coil 10 on a first surface 21a and an opposing second surface 21b. A detailed structure of the coil base 8 will be described later.
[0023] A ferrite 9 is a magnetic material. The ferrite 9 directs and concentrates the magnetic field lines generated by the coil 10. The flat ferrite 9 is positioned between the coil base 8 and the base plate 6. The ferrite 9 is sandwiched between the coil base 8 and the base plate 6. The shape and size of the ferrite 9 can be selected appropriately. The ferrite 9 can have a shape that, in a top view, substantially corresponds to the shape of the coil base 8. The ferrite 9 can have a size that, in a top view, substantially corresponds to the size of the coil base 8. The ferrite 9 can be smaller than or larger than the coil base 8.
[0024] The following describes the construction of the coil base 8 with reference to the Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 described. The coil base 8 comprises a rectangular flat main body 20 and a groove 30 formed in the first surface 21a of the main body 20, which receives the conductor wire 11. The first surface 21a of the main body 20 faces an upper surface 7c of the cover 7. The second surface 21b of the main body 20 faces a first surface 6a of the base plate 6.
[0025] The coil base 8 is made of a material with electrical insulating properties. For example, the coil base 8 is made of a hard resin material (such as a polyphenylene sulfide resin). The coil base 8 is formed from a single piece. The coil base 8 has a predetermined thickness. The coil base 8 has a thickness greater than the outer diameter c of the conductor wire 11. The coil base 8 has a predetermined strength so that it does not break or deform due to an external force. The coil base 8 is able to maintain the shape of the coil 10.
[0026] When viewed from above, the first surface 21a has a substantially rectangular spiral shape. The groove 30 comprises a substantially rectangular spiral groove body 31 that receives the coil former 12, a first end 32 that receives the drawn section 13, and a second end 33 that receives the drawn section 14. The groove body 31 and the first end 32 are formed in the first surface 21a, and the second end 33 is formed in the second surface 21b. The second end 33 communicates with the groove body 31 via a through-hole 22. It should be noted that, although the drawn section 14 of the coil 10 is housed in the second end 33 on the rear side of the coil base 8, the present invention is not limited thereto. The drawn section 14 of the coil 10 can be housed in a groove (slot) formed in the ferrite 9.In this case, the coil base 8 is relatively thin and the distance between the lead wire 11 and the ferrite 9 is shorter.
[0027] The groove body 31 comprises several linear grooves 34a extending linearly and a plurality of curved grooves 34b that are bent. The groove body 31 forms a helical groove by arranging the linear grooves 34a and the curved grooves 34b alternately in each turn along a winding direction.
[0028] The linear grooves 34a are arranged parallel along four sides 23a, 23b, 23c, 23d, which form an outer edge of the main body 20. The linear grooves 34a are arranged parallel at regular intervals from a central part of the first surface 21a towards the sides 23a, 23b, 23c, 23d. The curved grooves 34b are arranged parallel at regular intervals from the central part of the first surface 21a towards four corners 24a, 24b, 24c, 24d of the main body 20. The radii of curvature of the curved grooves 34b decrease progressively towards the corners 24a, 24b, 24c, and 24d.
[0029] The following section describes in detail the shape of groove 30. As in Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the groove 30 receives the conductor wire 11. The groove 30 has a cross-section perpendicular to an axis L of the conductor wire 11, with the cross-section having a U-shape that opens towards the cover 7. The groove 30 is recessed from the first surface 21a and has a predetermined depth. The groove 30 has a depth that is greater than the outer diameter c of the conductor wire 11. The conductor wire 11 fits into the groove 30. In other words, an end surface 16a of the conductor wire 11, which faces the first surface 21a, is recessed from the first surface 21a.
[0030] More precisely, the groove 30 comprises a pair of opposing side surfaces 30a, 30a and a base surface 30b, which has a semicircular cross-section and connects the pair of side surfaces 30a, 30a. The pair of side surfaces 30a, 30a are parallel planes. The side surfaces 30a, 30a are, for example, substantially perpendicular to the first surface 21a. The side surfaces 30a, 30a have first ends connected to the first surfaces 21a. The side surfaces 30a, 30a have second ends connected to the base surface 30b. The side surfaces 30a, 30a are separated from each other in a predetermined direction X perpendicular to the axis L of the conductor wire 11 from directions parallel to the first surface 21a. The “predetermined direction X” can be defined as a direction that runs perpendicular to the direction of propagation of the groove 30 from the directions parallel to the first surface 21a.
[0031] An opening 37, located at the point where the side surfaces 30a, 30a connect to the first surface 21a, has a width a corresponding to the distance between the side surfaces 30a, 30a. In this embodiment, the width a of the groove 30 is constant in a thickness direction of the main body 20 from the opening 37 to the second ends of the side surfaces 30a, 30a. The width a of the groove 30 is slightly larger than the outer diameter c of the conductor wire 11. The width a of the groove 30 is longer than the length of the outer diameter c of the conductor wire 11 plus, for example, the maximum tolerance of the outer diameter c.
[0032] The coil device 1 comprises a holding structure 100 that holds the conductor wire 11. The holding structure 100 of the conductor wire 11 is described with reference to Fig. 2, Fig. 3 to Fig. 4 described. As in Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the coil former 12 of the conductor wire 11 comprises linear sections 16, which are accommodated in the linear slots 34a, and curved sections 17, which are accommodated in the curved slots 34b. The linear sections 16 and the curved sections 17 extend alternately along the winding direction to form a plurality of turns. The coil former 12 generally has a spiral shape.
[0033] As in Fig. 2 and Fig. As shown in Figure 3, the linear sections 16 of the conductor wire 11 have a plurality of stops 40 that prevent the conductor wire 11 from being removed from the groove 30 (slot body 31). The retaining structure 100 encompasses each of these stops 40. The stops 40 are separate from the coil base 8. The stops 40 are attached to the main body 20 of the coil base 8. The stops 40 can have predetermined widths in one direction of extension of the conductor wire 11 (i.e., one direction of the axis L). The stops 40 can have predetermined lengths in the predetermined direction X. It should be noted that a representation of the stops 40 in Figure 3 is not shown. Fig. 1 is waived.
[0034] For example, four stops 40 are formed in each winding. The stops 40 are, for example, evenly distributed in the circumferential direction. The multiple stops 40 formed in the multiple turns can be aligned in a radial direction of the coil former 12 (the predetermined direction X in Fig. 4) It should be noted that the number and positions of the stops 40 are not limited to the embodiment described above and can be modified appropriately. The number of stops 40 can be different for each turn. There can also be a turn without any stops 40. The stops 40 can be formed on the curved sections 17. The stops 40 can be formed on both the linear sections 16 and the curved sections 17.
[0035] The structure of each stop 40 is described below. The stop 40 projects from the main body 20 in the direction of the groove 30. In other words, the portion of the stop 40 within the main body 20 is positioned outside the groove 30, and the remaining portion of the stop 40 is positioned inside the groove 30. The stop 40 is an arm-like, one-piece component that extends in the specified direction X.
[0036] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the stop 40 comprises a base section 41, which is attached to the main body 20, and a distal end section 42, which is connected to the base section 41 and covers the conductor wire 11. The stop 40 may, for example, be formed from a single piece. The base section 41 may, for example, have a column shape. The distal end section 42 is an arm-like section that extends from a circumferential surface of the base section 41 in the predetermined direction X. The distal end section 42 is positioned in the opening 37 of the groove 30. The distal end section 42 has a thickness that is less than the diameter of the base section 41. The stop 40 has a conical shape. The distal end section 42 covers approximately one radial half of the conductor wire 11 (linear section 16).A gap smaller than the outer diameter c of the conductor wire 11 is formed between the distal end section 42 and an edge of the opening 37. The distal end section 42 faces the conductor wire 11 in a depth direction of the groove 30, that is, in the thickness direction of the main body 20. The distal end section 42 can abut the end surface 16a of the conductor wire 11, which faces the first surface 21a. A narrow gap can be formed between the distal end section 42 and the conductor wire 11.
[0037] The expression “the stop 40 (distal end section 42) covers the conductor wire 11” refers to a case in which the stop 40 covers the entire outer diameter c of the conductor wire 11, and a case in which the stop 40 covers a radial section of the conductor wire 11. In other words, if the conductor wire 11 and the stop 40 are projected onto a plane parallel to the first surface 21a, it is only necessary that the area of the distal end section 42 of the stop 40 overlaps the area of the conductor wire 11. The distal end section 42 can cover the entire outer diameter c of the conductor wire 11, or it can cover an area smaller than the radius of the conductor wire 11.
[0038] A receiving section 50, which is a space for receiving the base section 41, is formed in the main body 20 of the coil base 8. The receiving section 50 is positioned along the linear groove 34a and extends through the linear groove 34a. The receiving section 50 can have a predetermined width in the direction of extension of the conductor wire 11 (the direction of the axis L). The receiving section 50 has a width that is greater than the width of the base section 41. The receiving section 50 comprises a side surface 51 that is substantially parallel to the side surface 30a, a bottom surface 52 that is substantially parallel to the first surface 21a, and a curved surface 53 that connects the side surface 51 to the bottom surface 52. The side surface 51 and the bottom surface 52 are flat and substantially perpendicular to each other. The curved surface 53 between the side surface 51 and the bottom surface 52 has the shape of a section of a cylindrical surface (for example, the shape of a cylindrical surface divided into four parts circumferentially). The receiving section 50 further comprises two side surfaces (not shown) formed at opposite ends in the direction of the axis L. These two side surfaces are substantially perpendicular to the first side surface 21a and connected to the corresponding ends of the side surface 51, the bottom surface 52, and the curved surface 53.
[0039] The base section 41 of the stop 40 is housed in the receiving section 50. In the holding structure 100 of the present embodiment, the base section 41 can abut any of the wall surfaces of the receiving section 50 (for example, the curved surface 53) and be attached to this wall surface. The base section 41 can be attached to another part of the coil base 8. For example, the base section 41 can be attached to the two side surfaces formed at opposite ends in the direction of the axis L. The base section 41 is attached to the wall surface, for example, by gluing. The base section 41 can be attached to the wall surface by engagement between a projection and a recess.
[0040] The stop 40 is completely enclosed within the receiving section 50 and the groove 30. A flat top surface 40a of the stop 40 does not protrude from the first surface 21a of the coil base 8. The top surface 40a can be parallel to the first surface 21a. The top surface 40a can be flush with the first surface 21a. The top surface 40a can be slightly recessed relative to the first surface 21a.
[0041] In the holding structure 100 of the present embodiment, the stop 40 is formed from an elastic material. In particular, the stop 40 can be formed from a soft resin material. The stop 40 is formed from a material that differs from that of the coil base 8. In other words, the stop 40 is formed from a deformable material. Thus, the distal end section 42 is deformable. The distal end section 42 can be moved out of the groove 30 by deformation. That is, the distal end section 42 can be brought into a position that protrudes from the first surface 21a.
[0042] The following describes an assembly method for the conductor wire 11 (coil 10) using the retaining structure 100. Several stops 40 are pre-attached to the coil base 8. The stops 40 are flexible and differ from the coil base 8. Each distal end section 42 is pulled upwards. When the distal end section 42 is pulled upwards, a space larger than the outer diameter c of the conductor wire 11 is formed in the opening 37 of the groove 30. The conductor wire 11 is fitted into the groove 30 through this space. The distal end section 42 returns to its original position. The conductor wire 11 can be held down or retained by the conical stop 40.
[0043] Since a space larger than the outer diameter c is formed when the conductor wire 11 is passed between the coil base 8 and the stop 40, the conductor wire 11 does not need to be significantly deformed. For example, in a conventional coil device disclosed in patent literature 3 (JP 2012 - 114 058 A), a nail is provided in a recess of the coil base. When attaching a coil to the coil base, it is necessary to deform the cross-section of the conductor wire to allow it to pass through. If the twist loosens due to this cross-sectional deformation, the skin effect can reduce the conductor wire's ability to reduce effective resistance. Furthermore, the bundle of thin wires forming the conductor wire does not need to have any sheathing. If the conductor wire is attached to the coil base, pressing the conductor wire into the recess while it is in contact with the nail can damage the wires. According to the retaining structure 100 of the present embodiment, the conductor wire 11 can be attached to the conductor wire 11 without applying excessive external force. In this way, the aforementioned problems of the prior art are overcome.
[0044] As previously described, in the coil device 1, the coil base 8 has a stop 40 attached to it. The distal end section 42 of the stop 40 covers the conductor wire 11. The stop 40 prevents the conductor wire 11, which is arranged in the groove 30, from dislodging from the groove 30. Thus, the conductor wire 11 can be securely positioned in a desired location within the groove 30. Furthermore, the deformation of the distal end section 42 of the stop 40 allows it to be detached from the point where the conductor wire 11 is housed in the groove 30. Returning the deformed distal end section 42 to its original position causes it to cover the conductor wire 11. Therefore, the conductor wire 11 can be easily secured to the coil base 8.
[0045] When the base section 41 is housed in the receiving section 50, a section of the stop 40 can be accommodated in the coil base 8. This allows the coil base 8 to be formed compactly with the stop 40. This also facilitates covering the conductor wire 11 with the distal end section 42, since the base end section 41 is located near the groove 30.
[0046] Since the stop 40 does not protrude from the first surface 21a of the coil base 8, it is less likely that the conductor wire 11 will interfere with other components. The coil base 8, which holds the conductor wire 11, can be easily mounted to the other components (for example, the base plate 6 and the cover 7). Thus, the coil base 8 with the stop 40 can be designed compactly in the thickness direction. This results in an overall compactness of the coil device 1.
[0047] The deformable stop 40 facilitates the positioning of the conductor wire 11 in the groove 30. The stop 40, which is made of an elastic material, also allows the distal end section 42 to hold down the conductor wire 11.
[0048] Additionally, the force (pressure force) required to hold the conductor wire 11 can be adjusted by adjusting the elasticity of the stop 40. The inductance (the so-called L-value) of the coil 10 can also be finely adjusted.
[0049] The coil device 1 according to a second embodiment is described below with reference to drawings 5 to 7. The second embodiment differs from the first embodiment in that it has a rotatable stop 40A instead of the stop 40. As shown in the Fig. 5 and Fig. Figure 6 shows several stops 40A in similar positions to those provided in embodiment 1. With regard to the number and positions of the stops 40A, the same principles as in the first embodiment can be applied to the various embodiments described below, so their description is omitted.
[0050] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 7, each stop 40A of a holding structure 100A has a size and shape similar to those of stop 40. The base section 41 of stop 40A comprises a shaft 43 and is rotatable relative to the coil base 8. The shaft 43 is rotatably attached to the two side faces (not shown) of the receiving section 50, which extends at opposite ends in the direction of the axis L. The shaft 43 runs, for example, parallel to the axis L. It should be noted that stop 40A is rotatable relative to the shaft 43, which is attached to the coil base 8. Fig. 6 and Fig. 7 have a cross-section of the shaft 43 and side surfaces of the base section 41 and the distal end section 42.
[0051] The 40A stop differs from the 40 stop and can, for example, be made of a hard resin material similar to the coil base 8. It should be noted that the 40A stop can be made of a similar material to the 40 stop.
[0052] The stop 40A is attached to the coil base 8 in such a way that it does not move easily. The stop 40A is attached to the coil base 8 in such a way that it does not rotate until a significant external force is applied. For example, the frictional resistance between the coil base 8 and the shaft 43 can be increased. If the stop 40A is rotatable relative to the shaft 43, the frictional resistance between the shaft 43 and the stop 40A can be increased.
[0053] The distal end section 42 of the stop 40A is in a first position P1 (in Fig. 7 (shown by the solid lines) to cover the conductor wire 11 and into a second position P2 (in Fig. (7 shown as phantom lines) can be moved away from the opening 37 of the groove 30. The first position P1 of the stop 40A is, for example, the same as the position of the stop 40 of the first embodiment, which holds the conductor wire 11.
[0054] The following describes an assembly procedure for the conductor wire 11 (coil 10) using the retaining structure 100A. The multiple stops 40A are pre-attached to the coil base 8. Each distal end section 42 is pulled upwards, and the base end section 41 (stop 40) rotates. The rotation of the base section 41 causes the distal end section 42 to move into the second position P2. A space is formed in the opening 37 of the groove 30, which is larger than the outer diameter c of the conductor wire 11. The conductor wire 11 is inserted through this space into the groove 30. The distal end section 42 is pressed downwards, and the base end section 41 rotates in the opposite direction. The distal end section 42 is returned to the first position P1. The conductor wire 11 can be held in place by the conical stop 40.
[0055] The coil device 1 of the second embodiment achieves the same function and effect as that of the first embodiment. By rotating the base section 41 of the stop 40A, the distal end section 42 can be separated from the point where the conductor wire 11 is housed in the groove 30. Thus, the conductor wire 11 can be inserted into the groove 30. Additionally, returning the stop 40 to its original position by rotating the base section 41 causes the distal end section 42 to cover the conductor wire 11. Thus, the conductor wire 11 can be easily attached to the coil base 8.
[0056] When the stop 40A is in the first position P1, it prevents the conductor wire 11 from coming out of the groove 30. When the stop 40A is in the second position P2, the conductor wire 11 can be easily inserted into the groove 30.
[0057] The force (pressing force) for holding the conductor wire 11 can be adjusted by changing the fastening position of the stop 40A via the shaft 43. The inductance (the so-called L-value) of the coil 10 can also be finely adjusted.
[0058] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 8, the retaining structure 100B can be adopted as one embodiment. The stop 40B encompasses the shaft 43 and is rotatable, similar to the stop 40A. The stop 40B differs from the stop 40A in that it includes a projection 44 formed on the circumferential surface of the base section 41. A recess 54 is formed in the curved surface 53 of the receiving section 50. The projection 44 can be engaged with the recess 54 by fitting it into the recess 54.
[0059] The stop 40B is arranged in the first position P1, with the projection 44 engaging the recess 54. The stop 40B is configured such that it does not rotate easily due to the engagement of the projection 44 in the recess 54. The sizes and shapes of the projection 44 and the recess 54 can be selected appropriately. The coil device 1 with the stop 40B achieves the same function and effect as those of the first and second embodiments described above.
[0060] The engagement of the projection 44 with the recess 54 limits the rotation of the stop 40B. This prevents the stop 40B from moving accidentally and makes it easier to maintain the position of the stop 40B.
[0061] It should be noted that a projection may be formed in the coil base in such a way that it can engage in a recess formed in the base section 41 of the stop 40B.
[0062] In the following, a coil device 1 according to a third embodiment is described with reference to Fig. 9 described. In a holding structure 100C, a stop 40C comprises a cylindrical base section 46 rotatable about the shaft 43 and a plurality of teeth 47 evenly distributed around a circumference of the base section 46. One of the multiple teeth 47 covers the conductor wire 11 as its distal end section. The stop 40C is a gear-like stop.
[0063] A projection 57 is formed on the underside 52 of the receiving section 50. The teeth 47 engage in the projection 57, so that the teeth 47 only move over the projection 57 when a specific external force is applied. The projection 57 serves as a locking section that blocks the rotation of the stop 40C. This prevents the stop 40C from rotating unintentionally.
[0064] The coil device 1 of the third embodiment also achieves the same function and effect as those in the first and second embodiments. Rotating the base section 46 of the stop 40C can easily separate one of the teeth 47 from the point where the conductor wire 11 is received in the groove 30. Thus, the conductor wire 11 can be positioned in the groove 30. Rotating the stop 40C allows the conductor wire 11 to be positioned in the groove 30. The conductor wire 11 can then be easily attached to the coil base 8.
[0065] When the conductor wire 11 is inserted into the groove 30, it may bear against the teeth 47 of the stop 40C, but rotating the base section 46 can reduce the load on the conductor wire 11. The conductor wire 11 can then be easily inserted into the groove 30. Once the conductor wire 11 is in place, one of the teeth 47 covers it in such a way that it is unlikely the conductor wire 11 will come loose from the groove 30.
[0066] Although the embodiments of the present disclosure have been described previously, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above.
[0067] For example, coil 10 (conducting wire 11) is not limited to being held by the coil base 8. Coil 10 can also be held by the cover 7 (see Fig.1) Similar to the embodiments described above, a stop (retaining structure) can be formed on an inner surface of the cover 7. The groove 30 is formed within the thickness of a flat section (a section facing the ferrite 9 and the base plate 6) of the cover 7. An insulating plate can be arranged between the cover 7 and the ferrite 9. In the coil device with such a configuration, the cover 7 simultaneously serves as the coil base, thus eliminating the need for a coil former as a retaining element. The elimination of the coil former allows the coil device to be made thinner. The coil device in which the cover 7 holds the coil 10 also achieves the same function and effect as the coil devices described above.
[0068] It is not necessary for the stop's axis of rotation to extend along the groove 30, that is, along the axis L of the conductor wire 11. The stop's axis of rotation can extend in a direction that intersects the axis L of the conductor wire 11. The stop is not limited to rotating about a predetermined axis (or shaft). The base section of the stop can be pivotally mounted to the coil base (receiving section).
[0069] It is not necessary for the stop 40 to be completely accommodated within the receiving section 50 and the groove 30. A section (that is, the top 40a) of the stop 40 may protrude from the first surface 21a.
[0070] The receiving section 50 can be omitted in the coil base 8. The stop can be attached to the first surface 21a of the coil base 8.
[0071] A single coil device 1 can have only one stop 40. This single stop 40 can cover the conductor wire 11 at different positions. That is, the single stop 40 can have several distal end sections 42.
[0072] The stop is not limited to the gear-like stop 40C of the third embodiment and can be a cylindrical stop without teeth 47. That is, the stop can have a smooth circumferential surface. The stop can have any shape as long as it is attached in such a way that it does not rotate unless a predetermined external force is applied.
[0073] Although the above embodiments describe cases in which the coil device of the present invention is applied to a wireless power transmission system, the application of the present disclosure is not limited to wireless power transmission systems. For example, the coil device of the present invention can be applied to an induction heating system or an eddy current testing system. Preferred embodiments [First preferred embodiment]
