Abstract

A forming device (10) for forming a product (W) with a hole (Wt) comprises a shaft-shaped core element (30), several split molds (41, 42, 43), drive devices (21, 22, 23), and an engagement mechanism (60). The shaft-shaped core element (30) forms the hole (Wt) of the product (W). The split molds (41, 42, 43) are arranged around the shaft-shaped core element (30) and form a wall section (Wp) around the hole (Wt) of the product (W). The drive devices (21, 22, 23) move the split molds (41, 42, 43) during mold clamping and mold opening in directions that intersect the axis of the shaft-shaped core element (30). The engagement mechanism (60) moves the shaft-shaped core element (30) in the axial direction using a force with which the split mold (41) is moved by the drive devices (21, 22, 23) during mold clamping and mold opening.
