Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a combination of a pencil sharpener with a holder.
[0002] Such combinations are known. The holder serves primarily to facilitate handling of the sharpener. However, it can also be used to (further) combine the sharpener with a container, generally designed as a can, for shavings generated during sharpening.
[0003] The invention is based on the object of developing the above-mentioned combination in such a way that the sharpener can be easily removed from the holder. Such removal may be desirable or necessary when the sharpener's blade has become blunt and needs to be sharpened or replaced.
[0004] According to the invention, the stated object is achieved in the combination mentioned at the outset in that the holder has a latch and the sharpener has a locking stop or the sharpener has a latch and the holder has a locking stop, the combination can assume two positions, namely a) a holding position in which the sharpener is held in the holder and the latch of the holder or sharpener rests against the locking stop of the sharpener or holder, and b) a release position in which the bolt does not rest against the locking stop, and an abutment on the holder which at least partially absorbs a force acting on the sharpener for adjusting the combination from the holding position to the release position forms an acute angle with the normal to the direction of adjustment of the bolt with respect to the locking stop from the holding position to the release position and is designed as a displacement stop for a sliding displacement of the sharpener with respect to the holder.
[0005] The invention is based on the following consideration: If the combination is moved from the holding position to the release position, a force acts on the sharpener. Due to the acute angle that the displacement stop forms with the normal of the bolt's movement during unlocking, this force will cause the sharpener to move relative to the holder, specifically in the direction of this normal. This allows the sharpener to move out of the area in which the bolt can strike the locking stop, so that the bolt no longer interferes with further adjustment of the sharpener relative to the holder. In other words, the force exerted to move the bolt into its release position is also used to cause an (initial) displacement of the sharpener relative to the holder, so that the bolt cannot snap back into place.
[0006] As the name suggests, the sliding stop does not coincide with the locking stop or the bolt.
[0007] This normal coincides with the direction of the sharpener's freedom of movement relative to the holder gained by unlocking. Therefore, the force required to adjust the bolt relative to the locking stop causes the sharpener to move relative to the holder in the direction of the normal due to the acute angle.
[0008] According to the invention, it is preferably provided that the combination generates an elastic restoring force in response to a displacement from the holding position to the release position.
[0009] This ensures that the combination always returns automatically to the holding position.
[0010] For this purpose, the invention can provide for the holder and / or the sharpener to be elastically deformable at least in certain areas. In particular, it can be provided for elastically deformable areas on the holder and / or the sharpener to be formed integrally with other (rigid) areas.
[0011] According to the invention, the holder preferably has a shaft into which the sharpener fits.
[0012] This ensures that the sharpener is held in place particularly reliably.
[0013] The sliding stop can be part of the shaft wall.
[0014] This makes the overall construction particularly simple.
[0015] According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, an ejection device is provided which, in the holding position, has a first position with respect to a deformable part of the base of the holder and, in the release position, has a second position with respect to the part of the base of the holder.
[0016] Such an ejection device can be provided in addition to or alternatively to the displacement stop described above.
[0017] According to the invention, the ejection device is preferably arranged at the bottom of the shaft.
[0018] This design is particularly easy to construct and implement.
[0019] According to the invention, the acute angle formed by the abutment serving as a displacement stop with the normal is preferably 3° to 13°, more preferably 6° to 10°, even more preferably 7° to 9°.
[0020] According to a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the combination according to the invention is further combined with a container for chips produced during sharpening.
[0021] Finally, the invention also provides a holder of the above combination.
[0022] The invention is explained in more detail below using preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the drawings: Fig. 1 a schematic side view of an embodiment of the combination according to the invention in the holding position, Fig. 2 a partially sectioned schematic perspective view of the combination according to Fig. 1, Fig. 3 the detail X from Fig. 2 on an enlarged scale, Fig. 4 the detail A from Fig. 1 in enlarged scale, Fig. 5 the same view as Fig. 1, but in the release position, Fig. 6 the same view as Fig. 2, but in the release position, Fig. 7 the detail Y from Fig. 6, Fig. 8 the detail B from Fig. 5, Fig. 9-11 partially sectioned schematic side views of the combination according to Fig. 1 in different operating positions, Fig. 12 a view in Fig. 1 from the bottom of the holder of the combination Fig. 1, Fig. 13 a view of the holder according to Fig. 12 from above, but of a different embodiment, Fig. 14 the same view as Fig. 4, but from the embodiment according to Fig. 13, Fig. 15 the same view as Fig. 8, but from the embodiment according to Fig. 13, and Fig. 16 a schematic view of an embodiment of the combination according to the invention, further combined with a container.
[0023] The combination shown in the drawings includes a sharpener 10, which in the illustration is Fig. 1 is held in a holder 12. The sharpener 10 is also referred to as a sharpener module, which can be removed from the holder 12, for example, to remove or replace the blade 38 of the sharpener 10 for sharpening. How Fig. 1, both the sharpener 10 and the holder 12 have wedge-shaped areas that fit together.
[0024] The holder 12 has in the Fig. 1, the holder has a lid-shaped area 14 provided with an internal thread 16. The internal thread 16 serves to screw the holder onto a container 40 for chips 42 generated when sharpening pencils 44 using the sharpener 10, see FIG. Fig. 16.
[0025] How Fig. 3, a latch 18 is formed on the holder 12, which latch engages behind a locking stop 20 on the sharpener 10 in the holding position, ie in the position in which the sharpener 10 is held in the holder 12.
[0026] In the stop position after Fig. 1, the sharpener 10 rests with its two wedge-shaped outer walls 22, 24 against a shaft 26 of the holder 12, the walls of which are similarly positioned relative to each other; the side wall of the holder 12 comes to lie in the holding position within the (imagined closed) rear wall of the sharpener 10. The Fig. 1 The outer wall 28 of the sharpener 10 is located at the bottom in the holding position Fig. 1 parallel to a bottom wall 30 of the shaft 26 of the holder 12.
[0027] In the Fig. In the release position shown in Figures 5 to 8, the latch 18 of the holder 12 no longer engages behind the locking stop 20 of the sharpener 10. Furthermore, the sharpener 10 is no longer fully inserted into the shaft 26 of the holder 12. As Fig. 5, it protrudes slightly from the top of the holder 12.
[0028] Also, the outer wall 28 of the sharpener 10 is no longer parallel to the bottom wall 30 of the shaft 26 of the holder 12.
[0029] In particular, since the latch 18 does not engage behind the locking stop 20 in the release position, the sharpener 10 can be removed from the holder 12 in this position. Such removal is particularly easy because the sharpener 10 has already been displaced a small distance outward within the holder 12.
[0030] In the following, with reference to the Fig. 9 to 11 describes the process by which the combination according to the Fig. 1 to 8 is moved from the holding position to the release position:
[0031] Fig. 9 shows the combination in the holding position. Fig. 9 The walls 32 and 34 of the shaft 26 shown on the left and right are designed to be elastic. Fig. 9 shown holding position a force F is applied to the Fig. 9 lower right corner of the shaft 26 and the lid-shaped area 14 is held in place to generate a corresponding counterforce F', the sharpener 10 is moved to the left within the shaft 26 or the latch 18 on the holder 12 is moved relative to the locking stop 20 in Fig. 9 is moved to the right, see the double arrow B. With regard to this movement, the elastic wall 32 of the shaft 26 of the holder 12 represents an abutment. Since the wall 32 forms an acute angle α with the normal N to the direction B of adjustment of the bolt 18 with respect to the locking stop 20, which angle is approximately 10° in the illustrated embodiment, the overall result is a force acting on the pointer 10 in the direction of the normal N, ie in the direction out of the shaft 26 of the holder 12.
[0032] In the stop position after Fig. 9, this force pushes the locking stop 20 against the bolt 18. If the sharpener 10 is released from the Fig. 9 shown holding position further to the left, it will eventually reach the position after Fig. 10, in which the latch 18 disengages from the locking portion 20. This results in the above-described force acting on the sharpener 10 in the direction of the normal N leading to a displacement of the sharpener 10 in the direction of the normal N and thus moving it out of the shaft 26 of the holder 12.
[0033] This brings the combination into the Fig. 11, in which the sharpener 10 is no longer prevented from moving by the latch 18 resting against the locking portion 20 in the shaft 26 of the holder 12, but rather is free so that it can be removed from the holder 12.
[0034] As the above illustrations show, according to the invention, releasing the engagement between the latch 18 and the locking stop 20 simultaneously causes a slight displacement of the sharpener 10 out of the holder 12, so that the sharpener 10 can be easily removed from the holder 12. Furthermore, the (at least slight) movement of the sharpener 10 out of the holder 12 results in the combination not automatically returning to the holding position when the force F required to release the latch 18 decreases, even though it has elastic parts. Rather, the latch 18 can no longer engage behind the locking stop 20 once its release has led to the sharpener 10 being moved out of the holder 12.Thus, in a first step, one can release the latch 18 by generating the force F, then stop generating the force F, grasp the sharpener 10 and, with the same hand, move it out of the holder 12 because the latch 18 is prevented from re-engaging with the locking stop 20.
[0035] Fig. 12 shows a view of the holder 12 of the combination according to the invention in Fig. 1 seen from below, but without the sharpener 10.
[0036] Fig. 13 again shows the holder 12 without the sharpener 10, but in a view in Fig. 1 from above and, secondly, from another embodiment. This embodiment has an ejection device 36.
[0037] Fig. 14 shows the holding position, whereas Fig. 15 shows the release position. The ejector device 36 is in the position in which it is injection-molded. The change in position of the ejector device 36 (which forces the sharpener 10 out of the shaft 26) with respect to the shaft 26 is caused by the deformation of the part of the base 30 of the holder 12 which is in Fig. 13 can be seen on the right. This part of the base is separated from the remaining base 30 of the holder 12 by a gap 46. When moving from the holding position to the release position, the ejection device 36 exerts a certain leverage effect.
[0038] It is expressly pointed out that the ejection device 36 can be provided in addition to or as an alternative to the adjustment of the outer wall 22 with respect to the normal N.
[0039] Fig.Figure 16 shows the sharpener 10 with the knife 38 held in the holder 12. The holder 12 is screwed onto a container 40 for chips 42 generated during sharpening by the sharpener 10 by means of its lid 14. A pencil being sharpened by the sharpener 10 is designated by reference number 44.
[0040] The features of the invention disclosed in the above description, the claims and the drawings may be essential both individually and in any combination for the realization of the invention in its various embodiments.
