Abstract

A hand weapon designed as a kind of signal pistol, for temporarily incapacitating an attacker by throwing an adhesive net over them. Steel flare / signal pistol - Figure 1 - 1. as a breech-loading pistol (1) 1. with rooster (2) 2. with a tilting barrel (3) such as this one from Heckler & Koch with a bore of 30-40 mm, a length of 100 to 150 mm, the pivot / tilt axis (6) and the trigger guard (7). The tilting barrel - Figure 2 - Enables quick cartridge changes. 2. These contain a cartridge (4) based on a standard shotgun cartridge - Figure 3 - with a propellant charge (8) which is capable of pressing a [missing information] in front of the propellant charge polyester mesh or other rubber-like material (5) - Figure 4 - The net is hurled to a distance of 2 to 10 meters, the usual proximity between the individuals involved. Due to air resistance, the net expands to a width of approximately 1.5 meters, restricting the "attacker's" movement so severely that the user of the weapon can easily overpower them without endangering themselves and prevent any attack. The heat from the ignited propellant causes the polyester net to melt slightly, becoming sticky and adhering to the person hit. This prevents them from freeing themselves quickly enough to avoid being restrained by police officers or even launching an actual attack.

Description

[0001] Hand weapon designed as a type of signal pistol, used to temporarily incapacitate an attacker by throwing an adhesive net over them.

[0002] All over the world, people are repeatedly shot by public officials (e.g. police officers) because they see themselves or others as being threatened by these people with a knife or similar attack.

[0003] These threats are usually in a state of psychological distress – often only temporarily. It seems advisable to develop something that incapacitates these potential attackers by other means. Furthermore, the subsequent trauma for the public authority (police officer) resulting from the killing of a person should be avoided as much as possible.

[0004] This is what the so-called Manstop is supposed to achieve:

[0005] A light / signal gun made of steel - Fig. 1 - 1. as a breech-loading pistol (1) 1. with rooster (2) 2. with a break barrel (3) such as this one from Heckler & Koch with a clearance of 30-40 mm, a length of 100 to 150 mm, the rotation / tilt axis (6) and the trigger guard (7). The break barrel - Fig. 2 - enables quick cartridge changes. 2. A cartridge (4) based on a conventional shotgun cartridge is inserted into this - Fig. 3 - used with a propellant charge (8) which is capable of injecting a polyester mesh or other rubber-like material (5) pressed into the propellant charge - Fig. 4 - to "hurl" the net at the usual proximity of the respective persons, between 2 and 10 m. Due to air resistance, the net expands to a width of approximately 1.5 m, restricting the "attacker's" mobility so severely that the weapon user can easily overpower them without endangering themselves and prevent any further attack. The heat from the ignited propellant melts the polyester net slightly, becoming sticky and adhering to the person hit. This prevents the person from freeing themselves quickly enough to avoid being restrained by the police officers or even to actually launch an attack. 3. When I searched the internet, I could not find any such handgun. 4. The problem of avoidable killing of people by public officials should be solved. 5. According to point 4 above, there is no commercial use.

Claims

[1] Hand weapon designed as a kind of signal pistol, for temporarily incapacitating an attacker by throwing an adhesive net over them. Light / signal pistol made of steel - Fig. 1 - 1. as a breech-loading pistol (1) 1. with rooster (2) 2. with a break barrel (3) such as this one from Heckler & Koch with a clearance of 30-40 mm, a length of 100 to 150 mm, the rotation / tilt axis (6) and the trigger guard (7). The break barrel - Fig. 2 - enables quick cartridge changes.

2. In these a cartridge (4) based on a conventional shotgun cartridge - Fig. 3 - with a propellant charge (8) which is capable of igniting a compressed air supply Polyester mesh or other rubber-like material (5) - Fig.
