Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a device for attaching a drum bearing block to a truck mixer.

[0002] A drum bearing block on a concrete mixer truck is a specific component within the construction of a concrete mixer truck, also known as a truck mixer. Concrete mixer trucks are heavy-duty vehicles primarily used in the construction industry to transport ready-mix concrete directly from the mixing plant to the construction site. The main function of these vehicles is to keep the concrete moving during transport, thus preventing segregation.

[0003] The "drum" of a concrete mixer truck is the rotating container in which the concrete is mixed and transported. This drum must rotate continuously during transport to maintain the homogeneity of the concrete. In this context, the "drum bearing block" is a component that serves as a support for the bearings, which in turn support the rotating axis of the mixer drum.

[0004] The drum bearing block is an essential component of the concrete mixer truck, as it provides the structural support that enables the rotation of the mixer drum. The drum bearing block must be robust enough to bear the weight of the full drum, which can be considerable depending on the size of the mixer truck and the volume of the concrete load. At the same time, it must be precisely manufactured and reliably attached to the mixer truck frame to ensure smooth rotation without excessive vibration or wear on the bearings.

[0005] The drum bearing block is typically made of high-strength materials and designed to withstand the stresses caused by the weight of the concrete and the dynamics of vehicle movements. The stability of this component and its connection to the truck mixer frame is crucial for the operational safety and efficiency of the mixer, as failure can lead to downtime and potentially dangerous situations on the construction site and in road traffic.

[0006] According to the current state of the art, the drum bearing block is connected to the base frame via welded connections or combined welded and bolted connections to transmit the longitudinal, vertical and transverse forces.

[0007] A disadvantage of this method is that creating welded joints is very complex and requires specialized personnel. Furthermore, it is not possible to use a single type of drum bearing block for different frame widths of concrete mixers, as these must be precisely adapted to the dimensions of the mixer's base frame. Another point to note is that the welding process reduces corrosion protection, as welding damages the primer, and the hand-applied protective coating applied after welding is significantly less resistant and has a shorter lifespan.

[0008] The object of the present invention is to provide a device for attaching a drum bearing block to a truck mixer, in particular to a base frame of a truck mixer, which overcomes or at least mitigates the disadvantages listed above.

[0009] This is achieved with a device that has all the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the device according to the invention are listed in the dependent claims.

[0010] The device according to the invention for attaching a drum bearing block to a truck mixer comprises a pressure plate rigidly attachable to a base frame of a truck mixer for mounting a drum bearing block, a foot plate projecting from a drum bearing block, particularly in a transverse direction, for mounting on the pressure plate, a bracket element designed to engage the pressure plate and the foot plate in a mounted position of the foot plate on the pressure plate, particularly from three sides, such as a bottom side, a front side and a rear side, and a crossbar unit for locking the bracket element from one side, particularly a top side, in order to fix the pressure plate and the foot plate arranged thereon, particularly in the longitudinal and vertical directions, wherein the pressure plate has an alignment bolt projecting from the pressure plate on the side facing the foot plate, and the foot plate has a straight edge on the side facing the pressure plate.in particular having a transversely extending receiving groove for receiving the alignment bolt, a bore aligned with the receiving groove, in particular extending transversely, is provided in the base plate, which connects an outer side of the base plate to the receiving groove, and a stud screw is provided for insertion into the bore in order to contact the alignment bolt.

[0011] This device allows the drum bearing block to be attached to a truck mixer or its base frame. Thanks to the integrated mounting groove, it also enables the drum bearing block to be installed in truck mixers of varying dimensions, or with truck mixer base frames of varying dimensions. Furthermore, the alignment bolt engages with the base plate along the entire length of the mounting groove, allowing for significantly larger manufacturing tolerances of the drum bearing block / base frame. This also means that a single drum bearing block can be used with different truck mixer base frames (or even with different drum bearing blocks).

[0012] The fixation of the drum bearing block in the direction of the receiving groove is ensured by means of the stud screw inserted into the bore, which, after the alignment bolt has been inserted into the receiving groove, is used to clamp the alignment bolt in the receiving groove, so that a relative movement of the drum bearing block and alignment bolt is no longer possible.

[0013] The forces acting perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the stud bolt are absorbed by the clamping element and the crossbeam unit, which locks the pressure plate and the base plate of the drum bearing block mounted on the pressure plate together. The clamping element engages approximately three of the four spatial dimensions perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the stud bolt, while the fourth spatial dimension is blocked by the crossbeam unit. The crossbeam unit is detachably connected to the clamping element, so that the clamping element and the crossbeam unit firmly clamp the pressure plate and the base plate mounted on the pressure plate together (in the four spatial dimensions perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the stud bolt).

[0014] In conjunction with the effect of the stud bolt on the alignment bolt, the drum bearing block is then fixed in all six spatial directions and therefore firmly attached to the truck mixer, or to a base frame of the truck mixer.

[0015] According to an optional further development of the present invention, it can be provided that the pressure plate has a recess for inserting the ironing element in order to prevent the ironing element from shifting in a direction perpendicular to the depth of the recess, in particular in the transverse direction.

[0016] In other words, the recess is designed to prevent the bracket element from shifting in a direction parallel to the longitudinal direction of the bore or the stud screw inserted into the bore.

[0017] This leads to further improved stability and secures the drum bearing block to the truck mixer.

[0018] According to an advantageous embodiment of the present invention, the alignment bolt can be integrally connected to the pressure plate or connected to the pressure plate via a plug connection or a threaded connection. The alignment bolt can thus have an external thread that interacts with a recess in the pressure plate, which has a corresponding internal thread for screwing the alignment bolt into the pressure plate. Of course, the invention can also include the alignment bolt having a recess with an internal thread and the pressure plate having a protrusion with an external thread.

[0019] The ability to decouple the alignment bolt from the pressure plate allows the use of a suitably dimensioned alignment bolt that fits different configurations of the receiving groove provided on the side of the base plate facing the pressure plate. In particular, it can be designed so that, in the bearing plane of the base plate, the alignment bolt is held in the receiving groove with virtually no play, perpendicular to the direction of the groove, in order to prevent relative movement of the base plate to the pressure plate in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the receiving groove (e.g., along the longitudinal direction).

[0020] Furthermore, according to the present invention, it can be provided that the receiving groove and / or the alignment bolt is / are dimensioned in the longitudinal direction such that the receiving groove accommodates the alignment bolt appropriately in the longitudinal direction, in particular without play.

[0021] According to a further optional embodiment of the present invention, the bore can be provided with an internal thread to accommodate a stud bolt with a corresponding external thread in a threaded connection. The internal thread thus serves to position the stud bolt passing through the bore and, when engaged with the alignment bolt, to enable the base plate to be fixed or clamped relative to the pressure plate.

[0022] Accordingly, according to a further advantageous modification of the present invention, it can be provided that the stud screw is designed to push through the bore and to clamp the alignment bolt arranged in the receiving groove, in particular to clamp it in the transverse direction.

[0023] Together with a corresponding width of the receiving groove and an appropriately dimensioned alignment bolt, this is immovably held in the receiving groove, resulting in a fixed positioning of the base plate and pressure plate.

[0024] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the present invention, the bracket element can be a U-shaped rod, preferably wherein the crossbar unit is designed to lock the two distal areas of the legs, in particular with a respective screw connection on a distal area of the two legs of the U-shaped rod.

[0025] The U-shaped bar element serves to lock the drum bearing block onto the pressure plate which is fixed to the base frame.

[0026] First, the drum bearing block is positioned on the base frame or the concrete mixer truck so that the base plate of the drum bearing block is positioned on the pressure plate of the concrete mixer truck. Once the base plate and pressure plate are correctly positioned, the clamping element is used to fix the combination in four of the six spatial directions. The remaining two spatial directions are fixed using the alignment bolt, which is located in the receiving groove, and the stud bolt inserted through the bore.

[0027] The bracket element is positioned so that it surrounds both the base plate and the pressure plate, with its two distal legs of the U-shape extending beyond them. The two legs are then connected by a crossbeam unit, so that the base plate and pressure plate are enclosed in the space defined by the bracket element and the crossbeam unit. The crossbeam unit can have corresponding recesses for the at least two distal ends of the U-shaped legs, allowing them to be locked in place by appropriate elements. For example, a screw connection, a bolt connection, or the like may be used.

[0028] The present invention further relates to a base frame of a truck mixer with a device according to one of the aspects discussed above, preferably wherein the pressure plate is fixedly arranged on the base frame, in particular being formed in one piece, welded or bolted.

[0029] In addition, the present invention also relates to a truck mixer with a base frame according to the aspect discussed above or a device according to one of the aspects discussed above.

[0030] According to a further optional modification of the present invention, it can be provided that the basic frame is a chassis of the truck mixer.

[0031] Further features, details, and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description of the figures. These show: Fig. 1: A representation of a truck mixer with drum and drum bearing block, Fig. 2: A side view of the drum bearing block on a base frame of a concrete mixer truck, Fig. 3: An exploded view of the device according to the invention from a first direction obliquely from below, Fig. 4: An exploded view of the device according to the invention from a second direction from an oblique angle above, Fig. 5 a sectional view from the side of the base plate of the drum bearing block mounted on the pressure plate, and Fig. 6 a sectional view from above of the base plate of the drum bearing block mounted on the pressure plate.

[0032] Fig. Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a truck mixer 10 with drum 11 and the drum bearing block 7 supporting the drum 11.

[0033] It can be seen that the truck mixer 10 carries a drum 11 in its rear area, which is supported by a drum bearing block 7 from a base frame 4 of the truck mixer 10.

[0034] The longitudinal direction (L) runs from the rear of the truck mixer 10 to the front of the truck mixer 10, whereas the vertical direction (H) runs perpendicular to it from the underside to the top of the truck mixer 10. The transverse direction (B) is perpendicular to both the vertical and longitudinal directions.

[0035] Fig. Figure 2 is a side view of the drum bearing block 7, which is supported by a base frame 4 of the truck mixer 10. It is important that the drum bearing block 7 is firmly connected to the base frame 4, as shown in the illustration, which depicts two longitudinally spaced devices for fastening a drum bearing block 7.

[0036] Fig. Figure 3 shows a first exploded view of the device for attaching the drum bearing block 7, in which the pressure plate 1, fixedly arranged on the base frame 4, can be seen. This pressure plate serves to mount a base plate 6 of the drum bearing block 7. A receiving groove 12, into which an alignment bolt 3, fixedly connected to the pressure plate, is inserted, can be seen in the surface of the base plate 6 facing the pressure plate 1.

[0037] Furthermore, a bracket element 2 can be seen which, together with a crossbar unit 8, serves to fix the pressure plate 1 and the foot plate 6 placed on the pressure plate 1 together. For this purpose, the crossbar unit 8 is firmly connected to the two distal end regions of the bracket element 2, so that the positioning of the foot plate 6 on the pressure plate 1 is secured.

[0038] To fix the base plate 6 in the transverse direction, i.e., along the direction of the receiving groove 12, a bore is provided in the base plate 6, connecting an outer surface of the base plate to the receiving groove 12. A stud bolt 5 can be inserted through this bore, protruding into the receiving groove 12 as it passes through the bore. When the base plate 6 is placed on the pressure plate 1, with its alignment pin 3 projecting towards the base plate 6, this allows the stud bolt 5 to engage the alignment pin 3, thus clamping the base plate 6 against the pressure plate 1. Typically, an internal thread is provided in the bore 13, which engages with an external thread of the stud bolt 5 and thus absorbs a force acting on the stud bolt 5.

[0039] Furthermore, the positioning of the stud screw 5 in the bore 13 can be secured with a fixing device, e.g. a screw or a bolt, so that the stud screw 5 cannot slide out or unscrew from the bore 13 in a direction away from the alignment bolt 3.

[0040] Furthermore, a recess 14 formed towards the underside can be seen on the pressure plate 1, which serves to position the U-shaped bracket element 2 in its bridge section connecting the two legs in a transverse direction.

[0041] Fig. 4 shows exactly how Fig. Figure 3 shows an exploded view of the device, this time from a top-down angle, so that the receiving recess 15 for receiving the alignment bolt 3 in the pressure plate 1 is clearly visible. The receiving recess 15 can be provided with an internal thread that fits a corresponding external thread on the alignment bolt 3. However, it is clear to those skilled in the art that a threaded connection for receiving the alignment bolt 3 and achieving the advantages of the present invention is not necessary; a simple push-fit connection between the alignment bolt 3 and the pressure plate 1 is sufficient.

[0042] Fig. Figure 5 shows a sectional view (in a plane spanned by the transverse direction B and the vertical direction H) through the pressure plate 1 and the base plate 6 placed on it, in which the stud screw 5 provides for fixing the alignment bolt 3 arranged in the receiving groove 12.

[0043] Fig.Figure 6 also shows a sectional view, but now in a plane spanned by the transverse direction B and the longitudinal direction L. The receiving groove 12 and the bore 13 extending from it are again visible, with the stud screw 5 located in the bore, which projects from the bore into the receiving groove 12 and presses against the alignment bolt 3.

[0044] The advantages of this device lie in the fact that the drum bearing block 7 no longer requires a welded connection when connected to the base frame 4 of a truck mixer 10. Due to the redesign according to the present invention, base frames of different widths from various truck mixer models can be connected to one and the same drum bearing block 7. Changes in the width of the base frame can be compensated for by the provision of the receiving groove 12, while still ensuring a reliable connection between the base frame 4 and the drum bearing block 7.
