Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a conductor terminal with an insulating housing having at least one conductor entry opening for receiving an electrical conductor in a conductor entry direction, wherein the conductor terminal in the insulating housing has at least one spring-loaded clamping connection for connecting an electrical conductor by means of spring force, wherein the spring-loaded clamping connection has at least one busbar and a clamping spring having a clamping leg with a clamping edge for clamping an electrical conductor to a contact section of the busbar, with a retaining element configured to hold the clamping leg in an open position, and with a release element having a release section by which the clamping leg held in the open position on the retaining element can be released from the retaining element when an electrical conductor to be clamped exerts an actuating force on the release section.
[0002] Such a conductor terminal is known from DE 10 2020 119 372 A1. It is a conductor terminal with automatic connection of the electrical conductor to be connected when the conductor is inserted into the terminal. Insertion of the electrical conductor automatically releases the clamping leg of the clamping spring, which is held in an open position, thereby clamping the electrical conductor securely.
[0003] Based on this, the object of the present invention is to provide a further improved conductor connection terminal.
[0004] This problem is solved by providing the conductor terminal with a conductor guide component, designed as a separate component from the insulating housing, the busbar, and the clamping spring. This conductor guide component has at least one conductor guide section arranged within the insulating housing, through which the electrical conductor is guided to the release section when inserted into the insulating housing. With such conductor terminals featuring automatic connection, it is necessary to guide the inserted electrical conductor precisely to the release section. According to the invention, an additional component of the conductor terminal, namely the conductor guide component with its conductor guide section, is proposed for this purpose. Such a conductor guide component can be manufactured simply and cost-effectively with minimal material, for example, as a plastic component. The required conductor guide contour can be directly formed into this conductor guide component, specifically in the form of the conductor guide section. This eliminates the need for, or at most reduces the complexity of, conductor guide geometry on other parts of the conductor terminal, such as the insulating housing and / or the busbar. This allows these other terminal components to be manufactured more easily and cost-effectively. Furthermore, the additional conductor guide component can improve air and creepage distances.
[0005] The clamping arm, together with the contact section of the busbar, can form a clamping point for connecting an electrical conductor between the clamping arm and the contact section. In the open position, at least the clamping edge of the clamping arm is pivoted away from the contact section of the busbar. The clamping arm can be pivoted, for example, between an open position in which the electrical conductor is freely movable between the clamping arm and the contact section, and a clamped position in which the clamping arm clamps the electrical conductor to the contact section.
[0006] The retaining element can, for example, act directly on the clamping leg to hold it in the open position. Thus, for instance, a first locking element can be arranged on the clamping leg and a second locking element on the retaining element, with the first and second locking elements being able to interlock in the open position. The first locking element can be designed as a locking projection or locking hook. The second locking element can be designed as a locking edge or locking opening.
[0007] The retaining element can be a separate component, which is attached, for example, to an insulating housing of a conductor terminal, to the busbar or to another component.
[0008] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the retaining element is formed in one piece from the material of the clamping spring. This has the advantage that the retaining element can be produced directly during the form-bending process of the clamping spring. Separate assembly of the retaining element is therefore unnecessary.
[0009] As mentioned, the spring-loaded clamp connection has a release element with a release section. This section allows the clamping leg, which is held in the open position on the retaining element, to be released when an electrical conductor to be connected exerts an actuating force on the release section. This allows the clamping leg to be automatically released from the retaining element when the electrical conductor is inserted. The release section can be actuated by a separate tool, a component of the conductor connection terminal (such as an actuating element), or directly by the inserted electrical conductor itself, thereby causing the clamping leg to be released from the retaining element. By applying pressure to the release section in the direction of conductor insertion of the electrical conductor to be connected, the clamping leg, which is held in the open position on the retaining element, can be released from the retaining element.
[0010] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the at least one conductor guide section is arranged at least predominantly behind the busbar in the conductor insertion direction of the electrical conductor. In this way, the conductor guide section directs the electrical conductor in the immediate vicinity of the release section in the desired manner.
[0011] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the at least one conductor guide section is designed as a conductor receiving pocket, which spatially surrounds the inserted electrical conductor and / or the release section on at least four or five sides in a pocket-like manner. This ensures that the electrical conductor is securely held in the conductor receiving pocket, independent of the design of the insulating housing, and is shielded from the environment on at least four or five sides. This also improves the insulation properties of the conductor terminal. For example, the conductor receiving pocket can be open only on the side facing the conductor entry opening or on at least one other side. In an advantageous embodiment, the conductor receiving pocket can be completely closed, i.e., with a closed wall, at least on the side furthest back in the conductor entry direction. In this way, the conductor guide component can simultaneously form an end stop for the release section and / or the electrical conductor.
[0012] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the conductor guide component is designed as a plastic component. This allows for simple and cost-effective production of the conductor guide component. The conductor guide component can be manufactured, for example, by means of a plastic injection molding process.
[0013] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the conductor guide component has fastening elements with which it can be attached to the insulating housing. This allows the conductor guide component to be reliably and easily attached to the insulating housing. The conductor guide component can form part of the insulating housing, but it does not necessarily have to; it can be an independent component. The conductor guide component can be present in addition to the insulating housing. For example, the conductor guide component can be designed as a cover for closing a conductor receiving chamber of the insulating housing.
[0014] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the conductor guide component rests against the busbar and / or is arranged overlapping with at least one collar and / or material opening of the busbar. This enables a smooth transition from the busbar to the conductor guide component. In particular, the conductor guide component can be designed such that when the electrical conductor is passed through a conductor opening in the busbar, it does not become entangled with the conductor guide component and / or the busbar.
[0015] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the conductor guide component is arranged immovably within the insulating housing. Thus, the conductor guide component and the insulating housing form a fixed, unchanging unit, at least when the conductor guide component is attached to the insulating housing.
[0016] For example, the conductor guide component may have a cover section which forms part of the side wall or a side cover of the insulating housing, at least if the conductor guide component is installed in the insulating housing.
[0017] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the conductor terminal has an actuating mechanism for moving the clamping arm into the open position by manually applying pressure to the actuating mechanism. This has the advantage that the conductor terminal has its own actuating mechanism and external tools are not necessarily required for actuating the clamping arm. The actuating mechanism can be designed as a single piece or in multiple parts, and may include, for example, an actuating push button, an actuating slide, and / or an actuating lever.
[0018] The actuating mechanism allows the clamping arm to be moved into the open position by manual operation, against the spring force of the clamping spring. In this open position, the clamping arm can then be held by the retaining element, even without further manual operation of the actuating mechanism, so that the electrical conductor can be inserted at any time without requiring any special effort.
[0019] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating mechanism comprises at least two separate components in the form of a first actuating element and a second actuating element, the second actuating element being configured to transmit a manual actuating force exerted on the first actuating element to the clamping leg. This allows for a relatively short spring-loaded clamping connection perpendicular to the conductor insertion direction, which can be actuated effectively and ergonomically by such a two-part actuating mechanism. In this way, a conductor terminal block with automatic connection of the electrical conductor to be clamped can be improved in terms of size while maintaining good operability and reliability.
[0020] The first actuating element can be designed, for example, as a sliding push button or a pivoting lever. In the case of a push button, it can be arranged to be essentially linearly displaceable within a guide channel of an insulating housing. Such a guide channel allows the first actuating element to be guided in the direction of movement during manual actuation. In this way, the first actuating element can be reliably guided by the material of the insulating housing. Jamming and tilting during actuation are avoided. The second actuating element can be implemented in a variety of ways, utilizing a wide range of possible materials, including electrically conductive materials such as metal. The second actuating element can, for example, be designed as a pivoting lever.
[0021] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the first actuating element is made of an insulating material and the second actuating element is made of a metal material. Thus, the first actuating element provides the insulation required for electrical components. The second actuating element can then be manufactured from a relatively thin metal material, thus saving space.
[0022] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the clamping spring has a support section that is connected to the clamping leg via a spring arc, the support section being designed to support the clamping spring on the busbar or another component of a conductor terminal. The support section ensures secure support of the clamping spring and provides sufficient resistance to the spring force exerted by the clamping leg.
[0023] Depending on the design of the spring-loaded clamping connection, the release element can be designed as part of the clamping spring, e.g. as a release element formed in one piece with the clamping spring, or as a separate component.
[0024] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the retaining element is arranged on the support section, the release element, or a section of the clamping spring connecting the release section to the support section. In particular, the retaining element can be formed integrally with the support section, the release element, or a section of the clamping spring connecting the release section to the support section. In this way, no additional separate component is required. This reduces the manufacturing and assembly effort of the spring-loaded clamping connection.
[0025] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the busbar has a slot-shaped conductor feed-through opening through which the clamping spring, or at least its clamping leg, projects. This facilitates the secure clamping of an electrical conductor to the busbar. For example, the contact section can be designed as a contact tongue cut from the busbar material and bent, e.g., a contact tongue bent away from the surface of the busbar, to which the electrical conductor can be clamped. The electrical conductor to be clamped can then also be guided through the slot-shaped conductor feed-through opening so that it is securely held therein. The slot-shaped conductor feed-through opening can be completely or predominantly surrounded on its circumference by the busbar material. The busbar can have a collar that completely or at least partially surrounds the slot-shaped conductor entry opening. In this case, part of the collar can also form the contact section.
[0026] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the clamping spring is supported by its bearing section on the busbar, in particular on an inner side of the slotted conductor entry opening. This allows for secure support of the clamping spring with support on both sides, so that the forces of the clamping spring are kept away from the insulating housing of a conductor terminal. For example, both the bearing section and the clamping leg can project through the slotted conductor entry opening.
[0027] The electrical conductor can be inserted through the conductor entry opening in the conductor entry direction at least as far as the clamping point between the clamping edge of the clamping leg and the contact section of the busbar, where it can be clamped. In practice, electrical conductors are usually inserted beyond the clamping point, e.g., as far as the conductor guide section.
[0028] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the release section of the release element can be arranged behind the contact section or at least behind the clamping point in the conductor insertion direction (L).
[0029] For the purposes of the present invention, the indefinite term "a" is not to be understood as a numeral. Therefore, when, for example, a component is mentioned, this is to be interpreted as "at least one component". Where angles are specified in degrees, these refer to a circle of 360 degrees (360°).
[0030] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments and drawings.
[0031] They show Fig. 1. [0032] The in the Fig. 1 and Fig. The clamping spring 4 has a clamping leg 43, a spring arc 42 adjoining the clamping leg 43, and a support section 41 adjoining the spring arc 42. Furthermore, a retaining element 5 is provided, which is integrally formed with the clamping spring 4, in particular with a region 40 of the support section 41 that has a reduced width than the region of the support section 41 adjoining the spring arc 42. The retaining element 5 serves to hold the clamping leg 43 in the open position, as shown in Fig. 2 is recognizable.
[0033] Furthermore, a release element 8 is provided, which is also formed integrally with the clamping spring 4, e.g., as a section of material that connects to the retaining element 5. The release element 8 has a release section 80 at its free end, through which the clamping leg 43, which is held on the retaining element 5 in the open position, can be released from the retaining element 5 when an electrical conductor to be clamped exerts an actuating force on the release section 80.
[0034] Actuating surfaces 44 are formed on the clamping leg 43, e.g., in the form of laterally projecting tabs. The actuating surfaces 44 serve to absorb actuating forces by an actuating mechanism of the conductor terminal, as will be shown below with reference to the Fig. 3, Fig. 4 to Fig. 5 is explained.
[0035] Towards the free end, a clamping tongue 45 is bent on the clamping leg 43. The clamping tongue 45 terminates at its free end with a clamping edge 46, which serves to clamp the electrical conductor. The clamping tongue 45 can be projected from the material of the clamping leg 43 and bent in a direction extending away from the support section 41. Due to the projection of the clamping tongue 45, first locking elements 47 remain on both sides of the clamping tongue 45 on the clamping leg 43, e.g., in the form of projecting locking arms. The first locking elements 47 are designed for snap-fit coupling with second locking elements 50 of the retaining element 5. The locking of the first locking elements 47 with the second locking elements 50 occurs in the open position, as shown in Fig. 2 is recognizable.
[0036] The Fig. Figure 3 shows a conductor terminal 1 with an insulating housing 2 in which a spring-loaded clamp connection with a busbar 3 and a clamping spring 4 of the type described above is arranged. The busbar 3 can have an angled shape with a main section 30 in which a slot-shaped conductor entry opening 32 is formed. A contact section 31 of the busbar 3 can be projected and bent from the main section 30, e.g., bent towards the release section 80. The clamping spring 4 is supported with its bearing section 41 on the surface of the main section 30 facing away from the contact section 31 and additionally supported with a rear side of the section 40 on the inside of the slot-shaped conductor entry opening 32. As can also be seen taking into account the Fig. As can be seen in section 5, both the narrower area 40 of the support section 41 and the clamping leg 43 protrude through the slot-shaped conductor feed-through opening 32.
[0037] The busbar 3 can have a collar 33 that projects from the main section 30 on the side facing the release section 80 and completely or at least partially surrounds the slot-shaped conductor feed-through opening 32. The contact section 31 can form part of this collar. The collar 33 can, for example, be designed as a so-called material pull-through, in which material from the busbar 3 is formed into the collar described above by means of a pull-through forming process.
[0038] The insulating housing 2 has a conductor entry opening 20 into which an electrical conductor can be inserted in a conductor entry direction L and clamped at a clamping point formed between the clamping leg 43 or the clamping edge 46 and the contact section 31.
[0039] The conductor terminal 1 also has a first actuating element 7 as an actuating mechanism for moving the clamping leg 43 into the open position; this actuating element 7 can, for example, be designed as an actuating push button. The first actuating element 7 has a manual actuating section 70, at which the first actuating element 7 can be manually actuated with a pressure force. The insulating housing 2 further has a guide channel 21 in which the first actuating element 7 is guided in a displacement direction during manual actuation, which can be at least substantially parallel to the conductor insertion direction L.
[0040] The first actuating element 7 is slidably mounted in the guide channel 21 of the insulating housing 2, e.g., linearly slidably. The first actuating element 7 extends from the manual actuating section 70 towards the clamping arm 43. In the area of the clamping arm 43, the first actuating element 7 has a force transmission section 71, with which the actuating element 7 can exert an actuating force on the clamping arm 43, more precisely on the actuating surfaces 44, when manually actuated. This allows the clamping arm 43 to be moved into the open position.
[0041] In the Fig. In position 3, the clamping leg 43 is in its clamping position. If no electrical conductor is inserted, the clamping leg 43 can, for example, rest against the contact section 31 or at least be in its immediate vicinity.
[0042] The Fig. Figure 4 shows the conductor terminal 1 in the actuated state, in which the clamping leg 43 is moved into the open position by manual actuation of the first actuating element 7. For this purpose, the user can exert a manual actuating force on the manual actuating section 70 of the first actuating element 7, which moves the first actuating element 7 downwards in the guide channel 21.
[0043] In the open position, the first locking elements 47 engage with the second locking elements 50, so that the clamping leg 43 is held in the open position by the retaining element 5, even if no further actuating force is applied to the first actuating element 7. The first actuating element 7, by virtue of its position further down in the guide channel 21, now visually indicates to the user that the conductor connection terminal 1 is in the open position. In the open position, an electrical conductor 9 can be positioned at the clamping point without requiring any force.
[0044] If the electrical conductor 9 is to be clamped in the spring-loaded terminal by means of spring force, the electrical conductor 9 simply needs to be pressed against the release section 80. This deflects the release section 80 slightly downwards, thereby releasing the locking mechanism between the first locking elements 47 and the second locking elements 50, and the clamping leg 43 thus detaches from the retaining element 5. Due to its spring force, the clamping leg 43 then springs against the electrical conductor 9 with the clamping edge 46 and clamps it firmly against the contact section 31.
[0045] The Fig. 5 shows the based on the Fig. The elements described below, excluding the insulating housing 2, are shown below. The busbar 3 can have a main section 30 in which the slot-shaped conductor entry opening 32 is formed. The collar 33 projects from the main section 30 on the side facing the release section 80. The clamping spring 4, with its support section 41, rests on the surface of the main section 30 facing away from the contact section 31 and is additionally supported by a rear side of the section 40 on the inside of the slot-shaped opening 32. As can be seen, both the narrower section 40 of the support section 41 and the clamping leg 43 project through the slot-shaped opening 32.
[0046] As in the Fig. 3, Fig. 4 to Fig. As can be seen from Figure 5, the conductor terminal 1 has a conductor guide component 10 as a further component, which is formed separately from the insulating housing 2, the busbar 3 and the clamping spring 4. The conductor guide component 10 has at least one conductor guide section 11 arranged in the insulating housing 2, through which the electrical conductor 9 is guided to the release section 80 when inserted into the insulating housing 2, at least after the electrical conductor 9 has passed the busbar 3 with its free end during this insertion process.
[0047] The conductor guide component 10, which is located in the Fig. 7, which is additionally shown as a separate component, has a cover section 13 on which the multiply angled contour of the conductor guide section 11 is formed and projects to one side. Furthermore, one or more fastening elements 12 are formed on the cover section 13, with which the conductor guide component 10 can be positively attached to the insulating housing 2, e.g. by the insulating housing 2 having corresponding fastening receptacles 22 formed as counterparts to the fastening elements 12, into which the fastening elements 12 can be inserted.
[0048] It can be seen that the conductor guide section 11 has a pocket shape and thus forms a conductor receiving pocket 15 in which the electrical conductor 9 can be received with its free end. This conductor receiving pocket 15 surrounds the electrical conductor 9 on four or five sides in this area, i.e., the conductor receiving pocket 15 is open towards the busbar 3 so that the electrical conductor 9 can be passed through it. The conductor receiving pocket 15 can be open on the side facing away from the cover section 13 because this side can be closed by material from the insulating housing 2. However, this side of the conductor guide component 10 can also be closed with another wall, so that the conductor receiving pocket 15 is also closed in this direction.
[0049] The Fig. Figure 6 shows, due to the selected section plane, that the conductor guide component 10 can overlap with a part of the busbar 3, in particular with the collar 33. In the illustrated embodiment, there is an overlap area between the cover section 13 and the collar 33. Additionally or alternatively, the conductor guide component 10 can abut the busbar 3, e.g., the collar 33.
[0050] The Fig. 8 and Fig. Figure 9 shows another embodiment of a clamping spring 4, wherein the Fig. 8 the clamping spring in the relaxed state (clamping position) and the Fig. Figure 9 shows the clamping spring in the open position, in which the first locking elements 47 are engaged with the second locking elements 50. The clamping spring 4 according to the Fig. 8 and Fig. 9 is constructed similarly to the clamping spring 4 according to the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, only the shape of the actuating surfaces 44 is slightly modified because the clamping spring 4 in this embodiment is actuated by a different actuating mechanism, as will be explained below. As a further optional feature, the clamping spring 4 has, according to the Fig. 8 and Fig. 9 a stiffening rib 48 which extends over part of the longitudinal extent of the clamping leg 43 and additionally stiffens the clamping leg 43 in this area. The stiffening rib 48 can also be omitted depending on the embodiment of the conductor connection terminal. It is also possible to modify the clamping spring 4 according to the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 to form such a stiffening rib 48.
[0051] The Fig. Figure 10 shows a conductor connection terminal 1 in a further embodiment, in which the clamping spring is arranged according to the Fig. 8 and Fig. 9 is used. Fig. 10 shows the conductor connection terminal analogously to Fig. 3 with the clamping arm 43 unactuated, i.e., the clamping arm 43 is in the clamping position. In this case, the actuating mechanism has a first actuating element 7, which may be designed similarly to the first actuating element 7 of the previously described embodiment, in particular as a push button slidably mounted in a guide channel 21 of the insulating housing 2, which in turn has a manual actuating section 70 and a force output section 71.
[0052] The actuating mechanism comprises a second actuating element 6, in the form of a pivotable lever, which is pivotably mounted on the busbar 3. This second actuating element 6 has a coupling section 60, at which it can be mechanically actuated by an actuating force from the force output section 71 of the first actuating element 7. When the first actuating element 7 is moved downwards in the direction of travel, the second actuating element 6 pivots counterclockwise when the coupling section 60 is actuated by the force output section 71. The second actuating element 6 extends from the coupling section 60 to a spring actuating section 61, through which an actuating force can be exerted on the respective actuating surface 44 of the clamping spring 4 to move the clamping arm 43 into the open position.
[0053] The Fig. 11 shows the conductor connection terminal according to Fig. 10 in a state in which the first actuating element 7 has been moved downwards in the displacement direction by applying pressure, thereby pivoting the second actuating element 6. This moves the clamping arm 43 into the open position, with the first detent elements 47 engaging with the second detent elements 50, thus holding the clamping arm 43 in the open position even when the first actuating element 7 is no longer manually actuated. If now, as the Fig. Figure 12 shows that an electrical conductor 9 is inserted into the insulating housing 2. The release section 80 can be actuated by the free end of the electrical conductor 9, thereby releasing the locking mechanism between the first locking elements 47 and the second locking elements 50. This causes the clamping leg 43 to spring out and clamp the electrical conductor 9 against the contact section 31 with its clamping edge 46.
[0054] As can be seen, in this embodiment the conductor terminal 1 also has a conductor guide component 10 with a conductor guide section 11. The electrical conductor 9 is guided through the conductor guide section 11 to the release section 80.
[0055] The Fig. Figure 13 shows in a similar way to how the Fig. 5. The elements of the conductor terminal without the insulating housing 2. It can be seen that the busbar 3 has first bearing receptacles 34 on which convexly curved first bearing sections 63 of the second actuating element 6 can be supported. Furthermore, the conductor guide component 10 has second bearing receptacles 14 molded into the cover section 13 on which convexly shaped second bearing sections 62 of the second actuating element 6 can be supported.
[0056] The Fig. 14 shows similarly to the Fig. 6 overlap areas in which the conductor guide component 10, in particular with its cover section 13, is arranged overlapping with the busbar 3, in particular with the collar 33.
[0057] The Fig. Figure 15 shows the conductor guide component 10 of the embodiment of the conductor connection terminal 1 according to the Fig. 10, Fig. 11 to Fig. 12 as a single component. It is particularly evident that the conductor receiving pocket 15 is enclosed on five sides by the material of the conductor guide component 10 or the conductor guide section 11 and is only open in the direction of the busbar 3.
[0058] The Fig. Figure 16 shows the busbar 3 of the embodiment of the conductor connection terminal 1 according to the Fig. 10, Fig. 11 to Fig. 12 as a single component. In particular, the first bearing mounts 34 are recognizable, which may be formed on the lateral edge areas of the main section 30.
[0059] The Fig.Figure 17 shows the second actuating element 6, designed as a lever, as a single component. It can be seen that the second actuating element 6 branches out from the coupling section 60 into two parallel arms, each of which has a spring-actuated section 61. Furthermore, a first bearing section 63 and a second bearing section 62 are integrally formed on each of these arms. In this way, the second actuating element 6 can be supported symmetrically on both sides and can also actuate the clamping leg 43 symmetrically on both sides.
