Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a holding element, in particular for use on a window sill or a facade system.

[0002] In the current state of the art, cover systems, particularly depth-adjustable window sill systems, are generally known to be complex to install and remove. Standard window sill systems are typically installed using either elaborate screw connections or complicated plug-in systems. Installing and removing window sill systems, especially when only individual components need to be replaced without damaging the window reveal or the facade, presents a challenge.

[0003] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a holding element and a fastening unit by means of which window sills and facade coverings can be more easily mounted and dismounted.

[0004] This problem is solved with a retaining element according to claim 1, a fastening unit according to claim 11 and a covering system according to claim 16.

[0005] According to the invention, a retaining element, in particular for use on a window sill or a facade system, is provided, comprising at least one spring section and a receiving element, wherein the retaining element has a substantially plate-shaped and / or flat geometry with two opposing end faces and two opposing long edge regions that extend predominantly along a longitudinal axis, wherein the retaining element has two opposing short edge regions that extend substantially orthogonally to the longitudinal axis, wherein the short edge regions connect the long edge regions at their distal ends.In the present invention, a window sill can be connected to the building via a system of various connecting elements. The central and crucial connecting element is a retaining element that essentially connects all the individual parts of the window sill system, enabling easy installation and compensating for variations in sill depth. This retaining element is preferably an elongated, plate-shaped component that can be inserted into a wall unit, which partially accommodates the retaining element, with adjustable depth along its long edges. This allows the entire system to be adapted to window sills of different depths. One short edge of the retaining element is oriented towards the window, while the opposite short edge accommodates the window sill via another connecting element. This connection via the retaining element enables a purely force-fit and form-fit connection of the individual components, requiring no additional tools. To allow for variable and easily adjustable positioning of the retaining element relative to the wall unit, and thus relative to the building, the retaining element features a spring section that ensures a force-fit and friction-fit securing of the retaining element within the wall unit.

[0006] In one embodiment, the retaining element is manufactured in one piece. This one-piece design enables efficient mass production, making it particularly suitable for large-scale manufacturing. Furthermore, it essentially eliminates any significant weak points or vulnerable joints, resulting in improved overall strength for the one-piece retaining element.

[0007] In one embodiment, at least one of the end faces has at least one longitudinal groove, wherein the at least one longitudinal groove extends predominantly parallel to the longitudinal axis; wherein the at least one longitudinal groove is designed as a recess in the end face of the retaining element. To save weight and material, longitudinal grooves are preferably integrated into the end faces of the retaining element along the longitudinal axis. Due to the longitudinally oriented grooves, the retaining element still possesses sufficient strength. The longitudinal grooves are preferably rounded, in particular semicircular in cross-section, to minimize local stress concentrations in the material of the retaining element.

[0008] In one embodiment, a spring section is formed on at least one of the long edge regions of the retaining element, wherein the spring section comprises at least one spring element, adjacent to which at least one spring recess is formed. The spring section is formed from spring elements and spring recesses that are arranged adjacent to each other, such that the retaining element is compressible or elastically deformable orthogonally to the longitudinal direction. In particular, the spring recess is arranged further inward than the spring element and provides a space into which the spring element can pivot during elastic deformation. The retaining element can therefore preferably also be fixed to the wall unit by means of this spring section in a force-fit and form-fit manner.

[0009] In one embodiment, the spring elements and spring recesses are wave-shaped when viewed perpendicular to the end face and are arranged essentially uniformly along the respective long edge region. The wave-shaped design of the spring section allows it to absorb elastic deformation forces, which, due to the symmetrical arrangement of the spring elements and spring recesses, are distributed evenly over the long edge region of the retaining element, preventing stress concentrations. This ensures uniform deformation of the retaining element, enabling a secure connection between the retaining element and the fastening unit as a whole. As an alternative to the wave-shaped design, triangularly rounded or straight spring elements with corresponding spring recesses are also possible.

[0010] In one embodiment, a spring section is formed on only one of the two long edge regions. The one-sided formation of the spring section simplifies the manufacture of the retaining element and, in particular, the insertion of the retaining element into the mounting unit of the cover system, since it slides more easily on its smooth side. Furthermore, a one-sided spring section is sufficient for a secure, force-fit, and form-fit connection of the retaining element to the mounting unit.

[0011] In one embodiment, the spring element has a contact point which, at least in an undeformed, stress-free state of the retaining element, is located further from the opposite long edge region than a region of the long edge region situated between two spring elements. When the retaining element is inserted into the wall unit of the cover system and compressed, i.e., brought into a deformed, stressed state, the retaining element contacts the inside of a receiving section of the wall unit at the contact points of the spring elements. In this state, the difference between the distance of the contact points to the opposite long edge region and the distance of the region situated between two spring elements to the opposite long edge region decreases because the compression forces the contact points and the region between two spring elements together.Advantageously, the spring elements protrude beyond the remaining sections of the long lateral edge area, at least in the undeformed, stress-free state, but preferably also in the deformed state. This provides sufficient spring travel for elastic deformation of the spring elements.

[0012] In one embodiment, a receiving element is formed on one of the short edge regions, the receiving element having a cylindrical geometry that extends parallel to the short edge regions. The connection of the retaining element to the window sill is indirect via a connecting element that can be fixed to the receiving element located on the short edge region of the retaining element. The cylindrical geometry allows the connecting element to be received preferably via a rotatably mounted pin connection, so that the window sill can be easily mounted and dismounted on the fastening unit.

[0013] In one embodiment, the receiving element is arranged on the short edge region such that it borders the long edge region of the retaining element that faces away from the spring section. The receiving position is preferably located on the side facing away from the spring section, as this side has higher strength and thus ensures a more stable connection between the retaining element and the fastening unit.

[0014] In one embodiment, the receiving element has at least one receiving position, wherein the receiving position is designed as a round recess penetrating the receiving element. To achieve a preferably rotatable mounting of the connecting element on the retaining element, the receiving position is preferably round and penetrating the receiving element. This rotatable mounting particularly simplifies the assembly and disassembly of the entire window sill system.

[0015] According to the invention, a fastening unit is provided comprising a retaining element, a front unit, and a wall unit. The wall unit is designed for attachment to a building and has a receiving section designed to receive the retaining element. The front unit has an engagement section designed for positive engagement with the receiving position of the retaining element, such that the front unit is rotatably mounted on the retaining element about an axis of rotation. The front unit serves as the connecting element that links the retaining element to the window sill and is rotatably and positively locked to the receiving position of the retaining element. The connection between the retaining element and the facade or the building is made via the wall unit, into whose receiving section the retaining element can be inserted in a positive and force-locking manner.

[0016] In one embodiment, the receiving section of the wall unit, running parallel to the mounting direction, has a constant internal cross-section and an undercut for positive engagement with the long edge areas of the retaining element. This allows the retaining element to be inserted into the wall unit along its longitudinal axis, such that the insertion depth of the retaining element into the wall unit can be variably set. The undercut of the receiving section of the wall unit secures the retaining element tangentially against displacement, allowing it to move only in the longitudinal direction. Therefore, depending on the depth of the windowsill, the insertion depth of the retaining element into the receiving section of the wall unit can be adjusted for different windowsill systems.

[0017] In one embodiment, when the retaining element is inserted into the receiving section, at least one spring element is elastically deformed and pre-tensioned against the inside of the receiving section, resulting in a force-fit and friction-fit connection of the retaining element to the wall unit. Axial locking along the longitudinal axis is achieved via the spring section, which presses the retaining element into the receiving section. This form-fit and force-fit connection allows the retaining element to be inserted to any desired depth into the receiving section without axial displacement, thus enabling variable adjustment of the windowsill depth.

[0018] In one embodiment, the wall unit has a flange section extending substantially orthogonally to the receiving section and recesses for bolting the wall unit to the building, preferably to the building's masonry. Preferably, the wall unit can be attached to the building by means of bolting, which represents a particularly stable and secure mounting method and ensures that the entire fastening unit is positively and non-positively fixed to the building. Furthermore, the bolted connection is detachable.

[0019] In one embodiment, the wall unit is designed as a single-piece component comprising the receiving section and the flange section. This single-piece design of the wall unit particularly increases the strength and stability of the entire component, as it eliminates critical connection points that can only be joined by form-fit, force-fit, and / or material-fit connections.

[0020] According to the invention, a cover system comprising at least one fastening unit and a cover element is provided, wherein the cover element is fixed to the fastening unit by force-fit and / or form-fit. The window sill, as the cover element, is typically fixed to the retaining element by force-fit and / or form-fit via the rotatably mounted front unit. The fastening unit is preferably attached to the building via screws using the wall unit, so that the entire window sill system is easily removable and fixed to the building.
