Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of equipment for special vehicles. In particular, the invention relates to a fastening and rotating device for equipment that can be mounted on the roof of a vehicle, e.g., light signal bars, which allows the equipment to be changed in direction relative to the vehicle. State of the art
[0002] As is well known, there are currently numerous types of light signal bars for special vehicles on the global market. These are mounted with a fixed orientation (usually perpendicular, with the long side orthogonal to the vehicle's direction of travel). They are attached to the roof of the special vehicle by bolting them to metal rods. This provides rigidity and mechanical strength to the light signal bar, but at the same time limits the design of the light signal bar, thus limiting the vehicle's signaling and information operation and making it difficult to adapt to different operating situations. To compensate for the fact that the information is dependent on the orientation of the vehicle displaying it – where it is not possible to provide the affected road users with the best possible information, including safety and / or correct traffic flow, by positioning the vehicle in the direction of travel – the special vehicle with the information light bar must be positioned on the road in such a way that the emergency information is optimally visible as the road user passes. However, this is not always possible, and positioning the vehicle in a direction different from the direction of travel may compromise the detection not only of the light bar but also of the emergency information, or even hinder the correct flow of vehicles for safety reasons. While the vehicle should be positioned where the information is optimally visible, in other cases the impossibility of positioning the vehicle near the emergency situation due to space constraints forces the operator to position the vehicle far from the actual scene. Furthermore, in cases where the information needs to reach a larger visibility radius, it is necessary to deploy multiple vehicles with the same information device, which represents an unnecessary waste of personnel and other resources.
[0003] To date, no rotating device has been developed for special vehicle equipment, such as light signal bars, that is smaller and guarantees the strength and stability of the equipment's anchorage, even while the vehicle is in motion. Bulky, large systems, which also result in higher material costs, place a strain on the vehicle and impair its performance. Systems that are too slim, on the other hand, cannot ensure sufficient support and stability of the sign on the vehicle, especially while moving.
[0004] The technical problem to be solved by this invention is to obtain the possibility of rotating the information light signal bar mounted on the vehicle roof to cover a wider visibility radius and facilitate emergency signaling depending on the type of road intervention being carried out, ensuring excellent mechanical performance and also facilitating the visibility of the information to the road user and, consequently, the quality of the information transmission itself. Indeed, the possibility of orienting the equipment in a position adapted to the road situation, without being tied to the position of the vehicle, would represent an added value for every driver of vehicles on the road to whom the warning is addressed. Task and subject matter of the invention
[0005] The object of this invention is to provide a rotating device which overcomes the disadvantages and solves the problems of the prior art.
[0006] The present invention relates to a device according to the appended claims. Detailed description of embodiments of the inventionList of figures

[0012] When features are enumerated within a sentence or list, one or more individual features may be included in the invention without any connection to other features in the list.
[0013] Two or more of the parts (elements, devices, systems) described above can be freely connected to each other and considered as sets of parts within the meaning of the invention. Embodiments
[0014] In Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a fastening and rotating device 100 according to the present description.
[0015] Fig. 2 shows a light signal bar 200 which is mounted on the fastening and rotating device 100 of Fig. 1. It should be noted that the bar 200 is rotatable about a vertical axis Z parallel to the direction of gravity and orthogonal to a transverse plane XY defined by a first direction X, e.g., parallel to a direction of travel of the vehicle, and a second direction Y.
[0016] The maximum angular deflection of the fastening and rotating device 100 is forty-five degrees both clockwise ( Fig. 2(b), maximum angular position θ MAX ) and counterclockwise ( Fig. 2(c), minimum angular position θ MIN ) with respect to an angular position of zero θ0; usually, the angular position of zero θ0 can be chosen to be that in which a rectangular light signal bar 200 with a tiltable plate 210 is located within a rectangular frame 220 in a predetermined angular position, e.g., orthogonal to the direction of travel of the vehicle ( Fig. 2(a)).
[0017] It should also be noted that commercially available light signal bars 200 generally have, on their own (without alignment), an angular visibility within a range of plus / minus thirty degrees with respect to the angular position of zero θ0.
[0018] A light signal bar 200, which is attached to the fastening and rotating device 100 according to the invention, is thus characterized by an angular visibility in a range of plus / minus seventy-five degrees with respect to the angular position of zero θ0.
[0019] In Fig. 3 is an isometric exploded view of the fastening and rotating device 100 of Fig. 1 shown.
[0020] The fastening and rotating device 100 comprises a group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80, which are connected in the form of a fixed base which can be firmly anchored to the roof of the vehicle (not shown in the figures) by a first side of the fixed base, and a group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90, which can be firmly connected to the equipment 200 and can rotate about the vertical axis Z relative to the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80.
[0021] More specifically, and according to an advantageous embodiment, the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80 comprises a mounting plate 10 designed to secure the fastening and rotating device 100 to the vehicle roof by means of suitable screw connections. In the illustrated embodiment, the mounting plate 10, like the light signal bar 200, is rectangular and has optional projections 30, which will be explained in more detail below.
[0022] Preferably, two metal rods are mounted between the mounting plate 10 and the vehicle roof.
[0023] Advantageously, the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80 comprises a plate with a rack 20 which can be rigidly connected to the fixing plate 10 by a second side of the fixed base which is opposite to the first side of the fixed base with respect to the vertical axis Z.
[0024] The plate with the rack 20 has a toothed side 21 which is curved within the rectangular extension shown.
[0025] Advantageously, leveling washers can be inserted between the plate with the rack 20 and the fastening plate 10.
[0026] According to an advantageous embodiment, two end plates 30 with a semicircular edge are optionally attached to the mounting plate 10 in order to optimally accommodate a rubber seal which can be attached along the edge of the mounting plate 10.
[0027] As already mentioned, the plate with the rack 20 is fixed with respect to the transverse plane XY and has the task of limiting the movement of the pinion of a motor 40, which will be described in more detail below.
[0028] Advantageously, a low-friction sliding plate 60, preferably made of polyamide, can be applied to the plate with the rack 20.
[0029] Advantageously, a bushing positioning ring 70, each with (six) compensating bushings 71, can be arranged above the sliding plate 60. These compensating bushings 71 are arranged such that each compensating bushing 71 is tangent to the bore of an anchoring plate 90, thereby ensuring concentricity between the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80 (which include the sliding plate 60, the bushing positioning ring 70, and the six compensating bushings 71) and the group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90 (which includes the anchoring plate 90).
[0030] Advantageously, a corresponding washer 75, preferably made of polyamide, can be attached to each compensating bush 71.
[0031] To close the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80 at the top, there is advantageously a closing plate 80 with self-locking screws 81, which pass in this order through the washers 75, the compensating bushings 71 of the positioning ring for bushings 70, the anchoring plate 90, the sliding plate 60 and the plate with the rack 20.
[0032] These self-locking screws 81 do not block the rotation of the anchoring plate 90, but keep it clamped between the washers 75 and the sliding plate 60. The anchoring plate 90 can thus rotate freely around the vertical axis Z by sliding on the low-friction polyamide elements, but cannot move in the X, Y, Z directions, since this movement is blocked by the centering of the self-locking screws 81 and by the fact that the end plate 80 is locked onto the fixing plate 10, keeping the entire assembly compressed.
[0033] The fastening and rotating device 100 also comprises rotating means 40 designed to rotate the group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90 relative to the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80 between the minimum angular position θ min and the maximum angular position θ maxcan rotate with respect to the angular position of zero θ0.
[0034] According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the rotating means 40 comprise a motor 40 with a gear motor 41 extending in an extension direction and a pinion 42. The pinion 42 is rotatable by means of an angular gear on the gear motor 41 about a direction which is orthogonal to the extension direction and parallel to the vertical direction Z.
[0035] Preferably, the motor 40, as in Fig. 4, is secured between a bracket 43 holding the drive shaft and a motor support plate 44 with suitable screw connections. The motor support plate 44 is in turn secured to the equipment 200 with suitable screw connections.
[0036] Advantageously, the pinion 42 of the motor 40 is a toothed pinion 42. The pinion 42 is arranged relative to the toothed side 21 of the plate with the rack 20 so as to form a rack and pinion gear and to ensure the correct and binding distance between the pinion 42 and the toothed side 21.
[0037] With reference to the Fig. 5 and Fig. 6, since the pinion 42 of the motor 40 is clamped in the toothed side 21 of the plate with the rack 20, the rotation of the pinion 42 leads to a rotation about the vertical axis Z of the motor 40 and the group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90 and thus of the equipment 200 attached thereto.
[0038] The fastening and rotating device 100 further comprises rotation blocking means 50 designed to block the rotation of the group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90 in an angular locking position.
[0039] According to a particularly advantageous embodiment and with reference to the Fig. 7 and Fig. 8, the means for blocking the rotation 50 comprise a first 50 and a second 50 locking actuator (in Fig. 7 only one locking actuator 50 is shown).
[0040] Advantageously, the first 50 and the second 50 locking actuator each comprise a first 51 and a second 51 conical head which is longitudinally displaceable with respect to a first 52 and a second 52 actuator body.
[0041] Preferably, the first 50 and second 50 locking actuators are attached to a support plate 54 by means of a respective actuator support plate 53 using suitable screw connections. Each support plate 54 is, in turn, attachable to the equipment 200.
[0042] Corresponding to the locking actuators 50, the mounting plate 10 has a first 11 and a second 11 receiving centering. The conical head 51 of the locking actuator 50 can be inserted into these first 11 and second 11 receiving centering to block the rotation of the fastening and rotating device 100 in the angular locking position.
[0043] The fastening and rotating device 100 further comprises at least one first angle sensor 91 configured to detect the current angular position of the group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90 relative to the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80. Preferably, the first angle sensor 91 is a magnetic angle sensor.
[0044] Advantageously, the fastening and rotating device 100 according to this description comprises, in addition to the first angle sensor 91, also a second angle sensor 92 which is configured to detect the angular position of zero θ0.
[0045] Preferably, the second angle sensor 92 is a microswitch, preferably a micrometric limit switch.
[0046] Advantageously, the microswitch 92 is attached to the armature plate 90.
[0047] The microswitch 92 provides an additional safety control of the angular position to allow the activation of the locking actuators 50 in the zero angular position θ0. During vehicle movement, for safety reasons, the equipment 200 must assume a position orthogonal to the direction of travel.
[0048] Advantageously, the second angle sensor 92 is also designed to send at least one signal for activating the locking actuators 50 to a central control unit as soon as it detects the angular position of zero θ0.
[0049] The fastening and rotating device 100 can also be connected to a user interface (not shown) designed to send a signal for activating the rotating means 40 and an angular position for the end of rotation. The angular position for the end of rotation is an angular position between the maximum angular position θ MAX and the minimum angular position θ MIN .
[0050] Preferably, this user interface is located inside the vehicle.
[0051] The fastening and rotating device 100 also includes a central control unit designed to: - receives from the first angle sensor 91 the angular position of the group of rotary elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90 relative to the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80; - receives from the user interface the signal for activating the rotation means 40 and the angular position for the end of the rotation; - the rotation means 40 are activated on the basis of the signal for activating the rotation means, the current angular position and the angular position for the end of rotation of the group of rotary elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90; and - the means for blocking the rotation 50 in the angle locking position are activated.
[0052] Advantageously, the central control unit is further designed to receive at least one signal for activating the rotation blocking means 50 and to activate the rotation blocking means 50 accordingly.
[0053] According to an advantageous embodiment, the locking of the fastening and rotating device 100 is associated with the release of the parking brake of the vehicle: in this case, the conical heads 51 of the locking actuators 50 protrude and insert themselves into the respective receiving centering 11, so that the fastening and rotating device 100 is thereby blocked.
[0054] When the parking brake is applied, the first 51 and second 51 conical heads of the locking actuators 50 retract from their respective first 11 and second 11 receiving centers, so that the rotating means 40 can rotate the fastening and rotating device 100 again.
[0055] According to another further embodiment, with reference to the Fig. 9 and Fig.10 shows a fastening and rotating device 300 intended for equipment 200 that can be mounted on the roof of vehicles, e.g., light signal bars. The device 300, which is the subject of the present invention, allows the equipment 200 to be oriented so as to ensure its visibility in all operating situations, as in the embodiments described above. The device 300 comprises a group of elements 310, which are fastened under the equipment 200 and can rotate together with the equipment, and a group of elements 350, which are fastened on the roof of the vehicle and relative to which the group 310 rotates. The group of rotating elements 310 includes, for example: two lateral supports 311 housing the locking actuators 316 (with actuator body 372 and conical head 371); a motor support 312; a thermoformed housing 313 for the moving part; and a central rotating plate 314.This assembly of rotatable elements 310 is fixed with suitable screw connections (not shown) under central discs on the side (side not shown) of the equipment 200 facing the device 300.
[0056] The group of elements attached to the vehicle 350 below the assembly 310 may consist of: a base plate 351 with a rack for movement 352 and a sliding plate 353. Two centering elements 330 with a bearing 355 are attached to the flat plate 354, which encompasses the base plate 351. These elements are intended to ensure the correct positioning of the actuators 316 during locking. The rotation position is detected by a magnetic proximity sensor 317, and two mechanical limit switches (not shown) mounted on the flat plate 354 ensure that the movement is stopped in the event of anomalies. The zero-degree rod position locking actuators 316 are activated and inserted into the receiving centering devices (not shown) at the ends of the fixed flat plate 354 only when the vehicle's parking brake (not shown) is released and the device position is at zero. This position is detected by a magnetic proximity sensor 317, which reads the +45°, -45°, and zero-degree positions with an accuracy of + / -4 degrees and zero degrees, and additionally, optionally, by a microswitch 356 via the input of the precision zero-degree position reading curve 370, which activates the zero-degree locking actuators 316. For assembly of the device, a PA sliding plate 359 is positioned in the center of the group of fixed elements 310, above the sliding plate 353.Above this, the assembly 310 is positioned, which can be a variable message bar and is secured beneath the dies of the equipment 200. The assembly 310 is secured beneath the equipment 200 and rests on the block 350, with the Pa sliding plate 359 inserted between the central rotating plate 314 and the fixed plate 353. The two blocks, concentric thanks to the bushings 360, and the bearings 355, mounted on centering shafts (not shown) precisely secured to the base plate 351, ensure precise positioning of the zero-degree position by means of special screws 362, metal washers 363, and a central cross member 367.
[0057] The rotating block 310 is mounted on the fixed block 350 by means of threaded inserts (not shown) engaging the base plate, thus allowing rotation of the former by sliding the central rotating plate 314 between the sliding plate 359 and the sliding washers 365. In this way, the two blocks 310 and 350 are tightly connected, but the rotating block 310 can rotate about the Z axis because the central rotating block 314 slides on the Pa elements 359 and 365 that hold it together. Finally, the two actuators 316 and finally the motor (with gear motor 369) with pinion 366, which centers the pinion 370 on the teeth of the rack 352, are mounted on the elements in the rotating block 310.
[0058] Also described here is a motor vehicle (not shown in the figures) comprising parking brake actuation means and a fastening and rotating device 100 attached to the roof of the motor vehicle, which includes a central control unit according to one of the preceding embodiments, wherein the rotation blocking means 50, 316 are activated by the central control unit upon receipt of a signal for activating the parking brake actuation means of the vehicle.
[0059] In the motor vehicle, the equipment 200 may be a rectangular base light bar as mentioned above, and the zero angular position θ0 is a position in which the long side of the rectangular base is arranged along the second direction Y and the short side is arranged along the first direction X when parallel to the traveling direction of the motor vehicle.
[0060] The present invention relates to a fastening and rotating device (100; 300) for equipment (200) that can be mounted on the roof of vehicles, e.g. signal light bars.
[0061] The device (100; 300) according to the invention allows the equipment (200) to be aligned in order to ensure its visibility in all operating situations.
[0062] The device (100; 300) comprises a group of fixed elements (10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80; 351, 352, 353, 354, 357, 358) and a group of rotating elements (43, 44, 53, 54, 90; 310, 361, 364) which are rigidly connected to the equipment (200) and are rotatable about a vertical axis Z relative to the group of fixed elements (10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80; 351, 352, 353, 354, 357, 358) by means of rotating means (40; 366). The angular position is detected by at least one first angle sensor and further comprises rotation blocking means (50; 316) designed to block the rotation of the group of rotary elements (43, 44, 53, 54, 90; 310, 361, 364).
[0063] Furthermore, a user interface for commands and a central control unit configured to handle the movement of the device (100; 300) are included. Advantages of the invention
[0064] With the aid of the fastening and rotating device 100 according to the invention, an equipment 200 installed on the roof of a vehicle, e.g., a light bar with a retractable information panel, can be rotated; in this way, the equipment 200 can be displayed better and more directly to a road user.
[0065] Under emergency operating conditions, the mounting and rotating device 100 thus enables the vehicle on which it is mounted to be functionally positioned relative to road traffic, e.g., obliquely to the direction of travel on the roadway (e.g., to carry out a traffic diversion), and to be removed from the signaling operating position in the shortest possible time without disrupting regular road traffic.
[0066] The invention also has the advantage of a better definition of the light spot (for better visibility of the signalling inscriptions) than the prior art.
[0067] In the foregoing, the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described and variants of the invention have been suggested. However, it is understood that those skilled in the art will be able to make modifications and changes without departing from the relevant scope of protection as defined by the appended claims.
