Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a combination of several chairs, in particular two chairs (30, 31), namely a large chair (30) and a small chair (31), of different sizes, which can be pushed into one another. background
[0002] The invention particularly relates to the functional interaction of two chairs and the combination as a unit. State of the art
[0003] In small apartments, shared rooms, or even large dining rooms, there are always times when guests come over and the existing seating isn't enough. There's no room for stackable chairs or other seating and storage options, or they're far from where they're needed. Furthermore, with an extendable table, you always need more chairs when the table is extended. Most people resort to using chairs from other rooms or other locations. Task and solution of the invention
[0004] Object of the invention: The above-mentioned disadvantages of the prior art are to be avoided. Therefore, the task was to develop a practical, modern, and easy-to-use solution to overcome the above-mentioned disadvantages.
[0005] This object is achieved according to the invention in a combination of several chairs of the type mentioned at the outset which can be pushed into one another in that a locking device (32) is provided so that the chairs (30, 31) are locked in the pushed-in state, thereby forming a single, ready-to-use chair and in this state a pulling apart of the chairs (30, 31) is prevented. Advantages of the invention
[0006] Among other things, the following benefits are achieved: Since a normal extendable table never requires more than twice the number of seats, the invention only required a space-saving way to accommodate twice the number of chairs, in particular without requiring additional space.
[0007] The invention makes it possible to quickly and spontaneously gain additional seating, which even visually belong together thanks to the color combination of the two individual chairs.
[0008] Even spontaneous guests can quickly and easily get a chair, as one is already in the room, under the cover of another chair. To do this, the second (additional) chair is simply pulled backwards out from the main chair. This allows even seated guests to simply remain seated, or the chair can remain standing at the table.
[0009] By locking and thus positively connecting these two chairs, it is possible to use the combination of two chairs as one. This is achieved by the following parts: - upper backrest latch 1 with integrated spring closure of the small chair - front frame 5 of the large chair - Locking pin 7 of the small chair - Sliding plate 15 of the large chair for the locking pin 7 - Hole 19 of the large chair for engaging locking pin 7 - Guide / receiver 23 of the large chair for the small chair.
[0010] These components allow the small chair to lock securely into place at the front, back and sides of the large chair.
[0011] The design language makes the chair easy to use and allows a quick understanding of how the system, namely pulling it apart and pushing it together, works (user-friendliness).
[0012] This is achieved by the seats, which widen towards the back, resembling stacking boxes and thus indicating the direction of movement. The small chair's release button, color-matched to the larger outer chair, indicates a sense of belonging and prompts the user: "Move me." Furthermore, the small chair is so different from the base color that the user immediately recognizes that the whole is not just a single, separate chair when both are pushed together.
[0013] The curved backrests provide a comfortable seating experience. As a user, you feel welcomed into the chair.
[0014] Most important is the internal mechanism for unlocking the chair, which is spring-loaded in only one direction. This means that it only needs to be activated to release, and locking happens automatically when the chair is pushed in.
[0015] In developing the combination according to the invention, the inventor has overcome the following technical difficulties in a non-obvious manner: First, there's the problem of how to hold the small chair in place when assembled by the large chair. This is achieved by the mount in the front frame of the large chair 5 and by the locking pin and the mounts 7, 15, and 19 for this purpose.
[0016] In order for the locking pin to be able to be retracted again, a pushing movement of the component 8 had to be converted into a pulling movement for the locking pin 7, all in a curved backrest bolt 14. The problem was solved by converting the pushing movement into a rotating movement and using the direction of rotation for a pulling movement of the locking pin.
[0017] However, this movement also had to be transmitted to the outside of the backrest bar. Normally this is done with a rod or bar, but these are not intended for curved parts. A simple narrow sheet of metal is also of no use, as the guide curves in two different directions. By turning a sheet of metal in two specific places and using a precisely fitting guide groove in the backrest bar, the inventor managed to get the movement in the right direction with little pressure. Now the bar is a closed component and the guide and the entire mechanism are internal. Because the chair is built in a classic way, there are no connecting screws, just "classic wooden joints", including on this backrest bar, where the guide must also be installed. In addition, the backrest bar must be glued after the mechanism is installed. To prevent the mechanism from sticking, it is completely oiled and moved at short intervals before and after gluing.
[0018] Advantageous embodiments of the invention are set out in the subclaims.
[0019] It is proposed that - that the locking device (32) is mounted inside the chairs (30, 31) in a manner not visible from the outside, except for an unlocking element (8), - that the chairs (30,31) have different colours, - that when the chairs (30, 31) are pulled apart, the small chair (31) can be pulled backwards out of the large chair (30) without the large chair (30) being moved, - that the locking device (32) has an integrated spring closure, whereby the small chair (31) automatically engages with the large chair (30) when connected to the latter and the locking device (32) is only to be actuated to release the connection, - that the locking device (32) is arranged in the upper backrest latch, - that the feet (12, 26) of the small chair (31) are higher when pushed together than the feet (6, 11) of the large chair (30). Example
[0020] An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the drawings. In all drawings, the same reference numerals have the same meaning and are therefore explained only once if necessary.
[0021] It shows Fig. 1 the assembled chair in perspective view, Fig. 2 the two chairs after Fig. 1 in exploded view in perspective, Fig. 3 the two chairs individually next to each other in front view, Fig. 4 the assembled chairs from above with a detail of the backrest, Fig. 5 the assembled chairs diagonally from behind in perspective view, Fig. 6 locking from the inside with both molded parts with push-in-pull movement, Fig. 7 the guide system (the mounting) of the “small” chair in the “large” chair and Fig. 8 the holder for the “small chair” in the “big chair”. Structure of the inventive combination of several nestable chairs
[0022] In Fig. Figure 1 shows two chairs that are nested according to the invention. The "large chair" is in the foreground. Visible or indicated are the front legs 26, the lower frame 10, a rear leg 12, and an upper backrest bar with integrated spring locking of the "small chair." These parts (1, 26, 10, 12) fit perfectly into the chair. Only the front legs 26 indicate that this chair is not a simple chair.
[0023] In Fig. In Figure 2, both chairs are shown in an exploded state. It can also be seen that the rear legs 11 and 12 of both chairs have exactly the same outline, thus indicating a connection. Furthermore, it can be seen that the frames 25 and 27 of the "small chair" are higher than the frames 4 and 5 of the "large chair." This is based on two factors. First, so that the "small chair" can be recognized within the large chair, and second, so that the "small chair" achieves high stability with minimal material.
[0024] In the upper part of the “small chair” you can see the upper backrest latch 1 and the push button 8 integrated here, which ensures that when this button is pressed the locking pin 7 is pulled into the upper backrest latch 1.
[0025] In Fig. 3 both chairs can be seen separately in a front view, on the left side the outer large chair and on the right side the inner small chair.
[0026] Fig. 4: Here you can see that the upper backrest latch 1, which is provided with the integrated spring lock, is not a straight latch, but joins the backrest 2 in an arc. The locking pin 7, which is in Fig. 6 can be seen even better, is guided by a spring steel, which is specially bent for this bow in part 1 and goes through the hind feet 12.
[0027] Parts 11, 2, and 3 are components of the "large chair." The view from above reveals the somewhat trapezoidal seat 3. The shape of the trapezoid dictates the sliding direction of the "small chair," where the seat is also trapezoidal.
[0028] Fig. 5: The two chairs are pushed together and can be seen here. The inner "small chair" is somewhat more clearly visible in this view from the rear. This is because the "small chair" is pushed into the "large chair" from behind with the front legs 26 first. Fig. From the shape shown in Figure 4 from above, it's clear that the small chair is considerably narrower at the front edge than the space between the rear legs 11 of the large chair. This eliminates the need for 100% precise alignment of the opening, and the "small chair" is inserted into the "large chair" via a stacking system. Because the small chair can be locked into the large chair without pressing the spring-loaded push button 8, and the locking pin 7 automatically springs out, the "large chair" is equipped with a sliding plate 15, into which the locking pin 7 is accommodated without wear.
[0029] In Fig. 6, the upper backrest latch 1 can be seen in the split / folded-out state. In the upper part, the latch is shown without the built-in spring lock. Only the guide for the spring steel 20, the guide for the springs and push button 14, and the holder for the plastic turntable are visible. In the lower area, the open backrest latch with built-in push button 8, which is always pressed into its initial position by the compression springs 16, can be seen. The spring steel 18, which is rotated twice around the arc (see Fig. 4) and to pass through the bend shown here, pulled toward the center. The spring steel 18 is in turn firmly welded to the locking pins 7, and thus the pins are pulled into the backrest latch 1. Because a pressure-resistant spring steel in a precise guide is used to transmit movement, the springback of the push button 16 pulls on 17 and, via the rotary disc 22, pushes on 18 and thus on the locking pin 7, which springs back out of the chair after actuation.
[0030] In Fig. 7 shows the guide which holds the “small chair” inside the “large chair”. On the left, the guide system can be seen from above with the transparent seat 3. The outer edges of the seats are guided into the correct position on the side frame 4, which is located on the inside where the guide 23 runs and which reflects the trapezoidal shape of the seats. As soon as the “small chair” is fully pushed in, the seat hooks into the fold of the front frame 5. The guide 23 rises towards the front frame 5 and at the same time tilts downwards inwards, as can be seen on the far right. The front feet 6 become narrower towards the bottom, as a certain width is needed at the top for stability, which in turn is rather disruptive at the bottom.
[0031] Fig. 8: Here, the upper corner of the "large chair" is visible, where the locking pin 7 engages the rear leg 11 with the aid of a sliding plate 15 in the opening 19. Also visible are the backrest 2 from behind and the screws for attaching the sliding plate 15. Operation of the inventive combination of several nestable chairs
[0032] The operation of the inventive combination of several nestable chairs is explained in detail below: Step 1: When the two chairs are pushed together, they can be seen and used as a single chair.
[0033] Step 2: To provide a seat for another person, a fully functional second chair can now be pulled out from the main chair. To do this, push button 8 must be pressed and, at the same time, the "small chair" must be pulled backwards out of the "large chair" using push button 8 and the upper backrest latch 1. By pressing push button 8, the locking pins 7, as shown in Fig. 6, into the chair. This releases the locking mechanism between the two chairs.
[0034] Step 3: The user now has two full-size chairs with backrests. The "small chair" is somewhat narrower and deeper in relation to the seat, but this is acceptable for a "side chair."
[0035] Step 4: To store the "small chair" back into the large one, push the "small chair" back into the "large chair." Button 8 does not need to be pressed during this step, as the locking pins are automatically retracted via the sliding plate 15 and then pushed out again into the opening 19, locking the chair into place. The guide, which is located in Fig. As described in Figure 7, the incline raises the "small chair" slightly off the ground. This makes it easier to push the chair, and when moving the two chairs together, no pressure is exerted on the small chair and thus on the engaged locking mechanism.
[0036] Step 5: Now the two joined chairs can be viewed and used as a single chair. Whether lifting, pushing, moving, or even storing, the two chairs pushed together can be viewed as a single chair.
