AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

In emergency situations, it is challenging to identify the specific escape door that has been triggered among multiple escape doors in a building due to identical acoustic signals from escape door monitors.

Method used

The escape door monitor is equipped with an electronic unit allowing adjustable volume and selectable pitch/tone modulation for distinct acoustic signals, ensuring each door can be identified by its unique sound configuration.

Benefits of technology

Enables unambiguous identification of triggered escape doors through differentiated acoustic signals, enhancing emergency response efficiency.

Description

Introduction:Escape doors in buildings must not be closed in order to be able to leave the building quickly on the direct path in an emergency. In order to be informed about the use of an escape door which is not to be used in daily use, a so-called escape door monitor is used [cf. FIG. 1 ]. This technical device is attached to / below the opening device of the escape door in such a way that although it is possible to use the opening device of the escape door, the escape door monitor is activated in parallel by horizontal or vertical displacement [cf. FIG. 2 ]. The escape door monitor reports the actuation of the opening device in the form of a loud acoustic or electronic main signal. The signal can be deactivated only by an authentication method (key, numerical code).Problem:The escape door monitor reproduces an acoustic warning signal when triggered. If a building area has more than one escape door and thus more than one escape door guard, in particular in the case of doors located close to one another, it is difficult, on account of identical acoustic signals, to quickly identify the activated escape door.Problem:A solution is to be developed with which the triggered escape door guard can be identified unambiguously on the basis of different acoustic signals in the case of a plurality of escape doors in a hazardous area.A corresponding solution is not available on the market according to the current state.Object Solution:The escape door guard is intended to be a technical device [cf. FIG. 3 ] in the form of an electronic unit, along with a selection option, to adapt the acoustics of the warning signal.• The volume should be adjustable• The pitch and tone modulation should be selectable preconfigured in the form of different acoustic signals• The signals set remain permanently stored until the manual change.• Different acoustic signals are to be reproduced at different volume by an acoustic signal transmitter. The escape door monitor should have an electrical switching device on the inside, which makes it possible to control different acoustic signals at different volume levels [cf. FIG. 4 ], which are reproduced by an acoustic signal generator as a main alarm. The set configuration is permanently maintained until it is actively changed by the user. This makes it possible to equip certain escape door monitors with a defined tone variation in order to identify the escape door monitor in the event of a triggering on the basis of the acoustic signal.List of reference charactersFIG. 1 : escape door guard in a rectangular construction FIG. 2 : Escape door guard mounted below a door latch with functioning FIG. 3 : Technical device 1 Electronic unit 2 Electrical switching device 3 Acoustic signal transmitter FIG. 4 : Electric switching device detailed view 1 signal according to 2 signal from 3 signal quiet

Claims

The claim extends toAn escape door guard comprising an electronic unit with an electrical switching device and an acoustic signal transmitter, characterized in that the acoustic signal transmitter can reproduce a selectable tone variation with different loudnesses and frequency modulations, wherein the selection is effected via operating elements or a configuration interface. An escape door guard according to claim 1, characterized in that at least three preset sound profiles are available. An escape door guard according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the configuration of the sound profiles can only be changed after authentication by means of keys or code.An escape door guard according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the configuration is stored in a non-volatile memory, so that it is retained even if power is lost.
