Abstract
Description
Pipe and duct guides through fire resistant components require effective fire protection measures to preserve the fire resistance of the component and prevent the transmission of fire and smoke. Conventional partitioning systems, such as fire protection flaps, consist of a flap body and a movable flap leaf.Fire protection flaps must be introduced into the fire-resistant components even before the air lines are installed. This presupposes that the position in the walls and ceilings is planned at an early stage, which makes changes in the course of the line considerably more difficult. Their assembly requires temporary holding structures which must be removed again later. The installation of fire protection flaps is complicated, in particular in the case of thicker solid components which require connecting pieces in order to press them. In addition, the flap leaves reduce the free ventilation cross section, generate flow resistances and cause sound emissions. The function of the fire protection flaps can be impaired by deformations of the flap housing or dirt. Moreover, they require an exact installation position and adaptations of the connection components and inspection openings for inspection. These properties result in restrictions in the planning of ventilation lines, complicate the structural sequence and require compliance with numerous boundary conditions. The invention described in claim 1 solves the problem of creating a subsequently attachable fire protection partition which can be integrated directly into an existing ventilation line and thereby minimally restricts the free cross section. The fire protection seal is insensitive to line deformations and dirt and can be mounted easily without special aids. This problem is solved by the features set out in claim 1. With this invention the following is achieved:• Subsequent attachment of the fire protection seal after the installation of the air lines.• Minimum flow resistance and low sound emissions.• Robustness against deformations and soiling.• No requirements for adjacent components.• Simple assembly without special tools. An exemplary embodiment of the invention for the partitioning of a ventilation line is explained with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2 :• Figure 1 shows the fire protection seal before deployment:o Air flow (1), air line (2), triggering element (3) (e.g. glass bulb), energy source (4) (e.g. compressed gas cylinder), opening unit (5), folded bellows (6), bellows container (7), compressed gas lines (8) with throttle element, fire protection compound container (9), fire protection compound (10), and lance (11).After activation of the triggering element (3), the compressed gas cylinder (4) is pierced through the opening unit (5). The released compressed gas distributes itself and inflates the bellows (6) and presses the fire protection compound (10) out of the container (9).Alternatively, other triggering techniques may be used, such as reflow solders or electronic solutions. The use of a pyrotechnic energy source is also possible.• Figure 2 shows the fired fire protection seal: The bellows (12) is inflated, seals against the air conduit (2) and prevents the air flow (1). The foamed fire protection compound (13) closes the air line (2) by fire protection technology and prevents the transfer of fire and smoke.Advantages of the Invention• Subsequent assembly without temporary holding structures.• Minimum flow resistance and low sound emissions.• Secure Blocking in the Case of Line Deformations and Soiling.• No need for connecting members.• Simplified assembly on existing air pipes.List of reference characters1 Air flow 2 Air line 3 Triggering element, glass bulb 4 Energy source, compressed gas cylinder 5 Opening unit 6 Folded bellows 7 Bellows container 8 Compressed gas line 9 Fire protection compound container 10 Fire protection compound 11 Lance 12 Inflated bellows 13 Foamed fire protection compound
