Abstract
Description
Technical area
[0001] The invention relates to building technology, in particular to a control unit for automated cellar dehumidification by targeted control of ventilation and dehumidification devices based on dynamic dew point analysis. State of the art
[0002] Conventional basement dehumidification systems are based either on manual ventilation concepts or on devices that respond solely to indoor humidity. Systems that combine indoor and outdoor climate control exist in isolated cases, but control is usually one-dimensional—e.g., using simple differential circuits or with only one switchable output. Modern versions often use app- or cloud-based solutions with smart home integration, which, however, introduces additional complexity, data protection concerns, and system dependencies. Object of the invention
[0003] The task is to provide a control unit that: - calculates the dew point of the indoor and outdoor climate, - decides via adjustable thresholds whether ventilation is useful, - switches on a fan or alternatively a dehumidifier, - provides two independently controllable outputs, - works completely autonomously, i.e. without connection to apps, cloud, Wi-Fi, internet or smart home systems.
[0004] Optionally, a connection to WLAN, Internet, Cloud is also possible Solution to the task
[0005] The control unit according to the invention comprises: 1. Two sensors for simultaneous measurement of temperature and relative humidity indoors and outdoors. 2. An evaluation unit that calculates the dew points from the measured values. 3. A programmable comparison logic that checks the following conditions: - a) Is the outdoor dew point lower than the indoor dew point by a defined threshold? → Enable ventilation - b) Is the outdoor dew point higher or is the outside air more humid? AND the indoor humidity above the limit? → Activate dehumidifier 4. Two independently switchable 230 V outputs (relays), each assigned to a fan or dehumidifier. 5. A local menu navigation for setting parameters and displaying operating states - completely without external connection. Advantages of the invention - Minimizes energy consumption through intelligent selection between ventilation and dehumidification - Prevents mold growth through humidity-controlled control - No internet connection required - No data protection issues - Independent of app updates, cloud servers or compatibility issues - Ideal for basements, technical rooms, old buildings or remote locations without network infrastructure
Claims
[1] Control unit for room air dehumidification with two independent outputs for controlling a fan and a dehumidifier, wherein the control unit comprises means for measuring temperature and relative humidity in the interior and exterior areas, calculates the dew point of the interior and exterior air from the measured values, compares the dew points and, depending on adjustable threshold values for the desired interior temperature and humidity, activates either the fan or the dehumidifier, wherein the control unit works completely independently and can be operated without connection to digital networks, smart home systems, apps or external servers. [2] Control unit according to claim 1, characterized by that the outputs are designed as potential-free relay contacts or as 230-volt switching outputs. [3] Control unit according to claim 1, characterized bythat a local display unit is integrated to show the measured climate data and operating conditions. [4] Control unit according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the control system is parameterized exclusively via local menu navigation. [5] Control unit according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that a cyclical ventilation mode can be activated regardless of the dew point difference. [6] Control unit according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that it is housed in a housing suitable for both wall mounting and panel installation. [7] Control unit according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that it has potential-free inputs for external sensors or switching signals without the need for a digital network connection.
