AI Technical Summary
Existing window support devices for flowerpots and other items on windowsills often damage the window seal or require unsightly adhesive residues or holes, and they do not allow full window opening due to structural limitations.
A clamping device with a buckling rod mechanism that securely attaches to the window frame without damaging the seal, allowing items to be hung above the windowsill, supporting up to 10 kg, and enabling full window opening.
The device provides stable support for items while maintaining the window seal integrity and enabling full opening, avoiding damage and residue, with adjustable fit for various window sizes.

Abstract
Description
[0001] It often happens that when you've burned something in the kitchen, you want to open the window all the way, not just tilt it, but you can't because, for example, there are flowerpots on the windowsill. You have to move them first, and only then can you open the window. That's annoying.
[0002] The same applies to the bathroom. After a hot bath or shower, you can't fully open the window because there's all sorts of stuff on the windowsill.
[0003] Hairdryer, shampoo, hairspray, etc.
[0004] What if the whole thing weren't resting on the windowsill, but on a device stretched across the window frame, its support surface hovering just above the windowsill? This way, there's no possibility of placing anything on the windowsill. Items must be stored on the device. And this allows the windows to be opened fully immediately. That's how this device came about.
[0005] Such devices are not available on the market. There are rods for hanging curtains and blinds, but these are either glued or screwed to the frame. This has a disadvantage when removing such structures. Adhesive residue or holes remain on the frame. Two utility model patents, DE 20 2011 004 607 U1 and DE 20 2016 102 352 U1, describe devices similar to mine. However, they use a completely different fastening method. Both devices grip the frame at the outer edge from the inside and outside and are clamped to the frame using screws. The inventors overlooked the fact that a seal runs along the inside at precisely this point. The seal would be crushed and damaged. Furthermore, this could cause problems when closing the window. To support the weight of plant pots, the clamping element needs a certain thickness. The area offers no more than 1 to 2 mm of clearance. If the element is made thin enough to allow the window to close, it may break when screwed in. If the element is made thick enough, the window may no longer close properly.
[0006] A completely different process is used in my device.
[0007] It consists of a clamping device that can be easily attached to the window frame. It also includes several flower holders that can be hooked onto the clamping device and hung. The device can hold up to 10 kg. When the window is opened, the flowers move with it.
[0008] You can tilt the window, and the flowers will tilt with the window. Fig. Figure 1 shows the internal workings of the clamping device. Here it is shown without the cover. It consists of the outer housing (1) and the inner housing (9). The inner housing (9) can be moved within the outer housing (1) and thus adjusted to any desired size. The parts are fixed to each other by means of two screws (10). The entire assembly is then covered with a cover. The cover can be cut to any desired size. The cover is simply inserted into the device. The function of the lug (7) will be explained later. Fig. 2 and Fig. Figure 3 shows the function of the clamping device. (enlarged section from the Fig. 1) Fig. 2 - not tense. Fig. 3 - tensioned. The illustration here also shows the area without a lid.
[0009] The most important part of the clamping device is the clamping element (13), which functions as a buckling rod. Its clamping force is the buckling force. It is a rectangular steel plate 120 mm long, 25 mm wide, and 0.5 mm thick. One end of it is supported by the ram (11), and the other end by the outer housing (1), in grooves provided for this purpose, and it is bent. In its curved shape, it has a certain preload force.
[0010] The return element (12) also functions as a buckling rod. It is also a rectangular steel plate, 70 mm long, 25 mm wide, and 0.4 mm thick. It is supported at one end by the outer housing (1) and at the other end by the pusher (11), but it exerts pressure in the opposite direction. In the untensioned state, the buckling force of the return element (12) is higher than the force of the clamping element (13). Thus, the pusher (11) is shown in the drawing. Fig. 2. Pressed to the right until it stops.
[0011] The button (2) encompasses the clamping element (13) from above in the middle and is simultaneously guided in the outer housing (1).
[0012] After button (2) is pressed, the clamping element (13) transitions into its wave shape. It is supported by two centrally arranged supports (8). This is shown in the drawing. Fig. 3 to see.
[0013] The clamping force increases approximately ninefold; the restoring element (12) is compressed but remains in its arc shape, so the restoring force increases only slightly. Since the clamping element (13) has a greater distance between its ends in its wave shape than in its arc shape, the plunger (11) is shown in the drawing. Fig. 3. Pressed to the left. The nose (7) of the plunger (11) engages the rubber compound on the window frame, deforms it, and hooks onto the plastic cover. The inner housing (9) also has such a nose (7). Fig. 1, so that the device is clamped and hooked in from both sides simultaneously. (This is shown in the photo.) Fig. (5 can be seen) This gives it special stability. When the button (2) is pulled back, the clamping element (13) transitions into its arched shape, and the clamping device relaxes.
[0014] Fig. Figure 4 illustrates the principle of suspending the mounting box. The drawing shows a cross-sectional view. The mounting box (3) is inserted into the designated groove (15) on the outer housing (1) or inner housing (9) by means of the hook (4). Both housing halves have this groove. The mounting box (3) is supported on the window frame (14) by means of the slider (5). The slider (5) is movably mounted in the mounting box (3) and can be adjusted to the appropriate distance. The slider (5) is secured with the nut (6). The nut (6) and the slider (5) have a threaded connection. QUOTES INCLUDED IN THE DESCRIPTION
