Description

[0001] The invention relates to a container for firefighting and rescue operations, in particular a roll container for transporting hoses, which has a structure with a loading space that is open at least at the top for receiving a hose load that preferably consists of a plurality of hoses coupled to one another, wherein the hoses can be removed from the loading space at an output side thereof.

[0002] Arrangements of this type are familiar from fire service practice. In a known roll container of the type described above, the loading space is open or can be opened at one end, which forms the discharge side, to allow the hoses to be pulled off smoothly. The disadvantage of this is that only the hose load from a single container can be pulled out of the loading space at a time. Experience has shown that there is a risk of disruptions caused by the hose couplings becoming caught on protruding corners and edges due to a lack of guidance. This is also the reason why, when containers are arranged one behind the other, the hoses from a rear container cannot be pulled over an adjacent front container without disruption. This means that uninterrupted, continuous unloading of all containers is not possible, which would be desirable for laying a longer hose line. The known arrangements are therefore not sufficiently fail-safe and suitable for use.

[0003] Arrangements of the type mentioned above are already in use, in which a transport device for removing the hoses is assigned to the discharge side of the cargo space. Here, too, there is a risk that the hose couplings can get caught on the transport devices, etc. These known arrangements are therefore not sufficiently fail-safe or suitable for use, not to mention the cost of manufacturing and maintenance.

[0004] Based on this, it is therefore the object of the present invention to improve a container of the type mentioned at the outset while avoiding the disadvantages of the known arrangements in such a way that a high degree of freedom from faults and suitable usability are ensured.

[0005] This object is achieved according to the invention in that in a container of the type mentioned at the outset the loading space is only open at the top and in that in the area above a wall of the body assigned to the discharge side a hose unwinding device is provided which has a horizontal roller extending across the width of the loading space and two lateral vertical rollers adjacent to the ends of the horizontal roller.

[0006] The hose unwinding device, which requires no drive, reliably guides a hose line drawn over it and prevents the existing hose couplings from getting caught on obstacles. It also allows the hoses of a hose load from the rear of a container row to be routed over each front container. This ensures that the hose loads of several containers arranged one behind the other, for example, on a larger transport vehicle, can be connected to one another and pulled continuously without interruption. This means that a longer hose line can be laid down from the moving transport vehicle without interruption. This saves time and is therefore highly desirable in firefighting and rescue operations.

[0007] Advantageous and appropriate developments of the overarching measures are specified in the subclaims.

[0008] For example, the rollers of the unwinding device can advantageously each have a core mounted rotatably at their ends and damping rings mounted on this core, preferably arranged at a distance from one another. This prevents harsh shocks and impacts, thus ensuring gentle operation.

[0009] Another advantageous measure could be for the vertical rollers to extend beyond the horizontal roller, at least upwards, and preferably also downwards. This provides reliable guidance and can guide the hose couplings smoothly past dangerous corner areas.

[0010] To further enhance the above measures, the vertical rollers can be equipped with guide plates that engage underneath them. These guide plates taper downwards from their upper, roller-side edge to the corresponding corner area of the loading space. This further increases the reliability.

[0011] Another useful measure could be to attach the unwinding device to the corner posts of the bodywork surrounding the cargo space, which extend beyond the upper end of the closed, front end of the cargo space. This provides a high level of stability.

[0012] For practical purposes, the guide plates can be bolted to the corresponding corner beam and support the vertical rollers with two-leg brackets, each of which can have a forward-projecting bearing bracket for the horizontal roller. This results in a simple, clear design and allows for easy installation of the unwinding device as a single unit.

[0013] Further advantageous embodiments and expedient measures emerge from the following description of a preferred embodiment with reference to the drawing.

[0014] In the drawing described below: Fig. 1 a perspective view of a container according to the invention in the form of a roll container and Fig. 2 a container arrangement with several roll containers arranged in a row one behind the other.

[0015] The Fig. 1 underlying roll container 1, which is prepared for the transport of hoses for firefighting and rescue operations, as indicated by a hose 2, consists of a base frame 4 mounted on rollers 3, on which a structure 6 is mounted, defining a loading space 5 for receiving a hose load formed by hoses 2 coupled together. The roll container 1 can be moved manually. Accordingly, at least some of the rollers 3 are assigned a braking device, which can be operated by means of an operating device provided in the region of an end face of the structure 6, which functions as the operating side and is indicated here by an operating rod 7. The operating rod 7 extends across the entire width of the loading space 5 and is received on the lateral corner posts 8 of the structure 6 assigned to the operating side.

[0016] In practice, one or more roll containers 1 are mounted on a larger emergency vehicle and transported to the site. If no further movement of the roll container is required, simple containers containing only the superstructure 6 without the rollers 3 can be provided instead of roll containers.

[0017] In the example shown, the loading space 5 of the roll container 1 is divided into several compartments by partition walls 9, in which the hoses 2 of the assigned hose load can be accommodated in rolled form or looped. In the case of a chaotic arrangement of the hose load, the partition walls 9 can be omitted. The hoses 2 of the accommodated hose load are connected to each other by couplings 10, which are only indicated here.

[0018] The loading space 5 is only open at the top and is closed all around by side and end walls 11 of the body 6. The front end of the roll container 1 functions as the operating side containing the operating rod 7 and at the same time as the discharge side, via which the hoses 2 of the hose load are drawn out of the loading space 5, as shown in Fig. 1 is indicated by the direction arrow 12.

[0019] To ensure trouble-free running of the hoses 2, the roll container 1 is provided with a hose unwinding device 13 on the output side, over which the hose 2 drawn in the direction of arrow 12 runs. The hose unwinding device 13 is located in the area above the upper end of the front wall 11 of the body 6 assigned to the output side, as well as above the operating rod 7, and is expediently attached to the upper end areas of the corner posts 8 projecting beyond this front wall.

[0020] The hose unwinding device 13 has a horizontal roller 14 extending across the width of the loading space 5 and two lateral vertical rollers 15 adjacent to the ends of the horizontal roller 14, which extend upwards, expediently both upwards and downwards, beyond the horizontal roller 14. The rollers 14, 15 expediently have a stable core rotatably mounted on suitable supports, on which damping rings 16 are received on the circumference, preferably arranged at a distance from one another, which prevent hard impacts and blows and thus ensure gentle operation. Adjoining the lower ends of the vertical rollers 15 are guide plates 17 which engage underneath them and, starting from their upper, roller-side edge, taper downwards to the associated corner area of the loading space 5, so that any hose couplings 10 that may be struck are reliably deflected.

[0021] The guide vanes 17 are conveniently screwed to the corner beams 8, as indicated by screws 18, and each support a two-leg, U-shaped bracket 19 on which one of the vertical rollers 15 is rotatably mounted. The guide vanes 17, which have a trough-shaped cross-section, can be provided with an upper cover that accommodates the respective bracket 19. The brackets 19 each have a bearing tab 20 projecting on the discharge side for rotatably receiving the horizontal roller 14.

[0022] Larger fire brigades often have larger transport vehicles on which, as already mentioned, several roll containers 1 or even simple containers without wheels can be placed in a row one behind the other, as in Fig.2. The roll containers 1 provided here, arranged one behind the other in a row, are secured in position by stops 21 assigned to their rollers 3. The same applies to containers without rollers. The stops 21 create a certain distance between the containers, over which the hoses 2 and the hose couplings 10 connecting them are guided by means of the hose unwinding devices 13 of the containers or roll containers 1. It is therefore possible for the hose loads of all containers or roll containers 1 to be connected to one another by couplings 10 and to be unloaded without interruption. This ensures that a long hose line can be laid from a transport vehicle carrying several containers or roll containers 1, each of which contains a hose load, while the transport vehicle is moving, which ensures a high laying speed.
