Device and tool for automatically picking up and depositing cut cake or confectionery, hereinafter referred to as the picking module, characterized in that the module (1) has a receiving (2) in the form of a scoop with a tip (3) and a directly adjoining conveyor belt (4) and can pick up sections from the baking tray (5) and place them in laterally locked, smaller trays (6) for sale or alternatively onto a feeder to a packaging machine.
