Description

[0001] Everyone is probably familiar with the problem of flowers hanging from the side flowerbed onto the lawn. But you don't want to mow these flowers down when you're mowing the lawn.

[0002] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a protective device for ornamental and useful plants for cultivation on the front of a lawnmower and a lawnmower equipped with such a device, which protects ornamental and useful plants that project laterally into the lawn area.

[0003] This problem is solved by the features of claim 1 or 6.

[0004] The flower guard consists of a downward-sloping shield firmly attached to a bracket. This bracket allows the flower guard to be attached to the front of a lawnmower. Thanks to its wedge shape, the downward-sloping shield gently lifts ornamental and useful plants that protrude laterally into the lawn and pushes them aside, preventing them from being caught by the lawnmower's cutting blades.

[0005] According to the advantageous embodiment of the invention as per claim 2, the bracket comprises a substantially horizontally arranged board which can be connected to the lawnmower by means of lashing straps. This is a simple design and allows for attachment to various lawnmowers.

[0006] According to the advantageous embodiment of the invention according to claim 3, the contact surfaces of the holder with the lawnmower are provided with felt pads to prevent scratching of the surfaces of the lawnmower.

[0007] According to the advantageous embodiment of the invention as per claim 4, the angle of inclination of the shield to the horizontal is between 20° and 30° and preferably 25°. The best results were achieved with these angles of inclination.

[0008] Preferably – claim 5 – the tilt angle of the shield is adjustable. A smaller tilt angle is advantageous for low ornamental and useful plants, and a larger tilt angle is advantageous for taller ornamental and useful plants.

[0009] Claim 6 relates to a lawnmower with a protective device for ornamental and useful plants according to any one of claims 1 to 5.

[0010] Further details, features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description of an exemplary embodiment of the invention with reference to the drawing. Fig. Figure 1 shows a schematic side view of an exemplary embodiment of a lawnmower with a protective device for ornamental and useful plants according to the invention.

[0011] Fig.Figure 1 schematically shows a conventional lawnmower 1 with wheels 2 and a handle 3 for pushing and steering the lawnmower 2. A detachable guard for ornamental and useful plants is attached to the front of the lawnmower 2. The guard comprises a flat, downward-sloping shield 4, which is rigidly connected to a horizontally arranged bracket 5 in the form of a flat board. The bracket 5 is detachably connected to the lawnmower 1 by means of straps (not shown). The detachable mounting of the guard on the front of the lawnmower 1 simplifies cleaning and allows the lawnmower 1 to be used even without the guard. To prevent scratching of the lawnmower 1's surfaces, the contact surfaces of the bracket 5 with the lawnmower 1 are covered with felt pads (not shown).
