Description

[0001] The invention relates to a starting device for an internal combustion engine of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1 and in the preamble of claim 11, as well as to a backpack-mounted working device with an internal combustion engine and with a starting device.

[0002] JP 2009-189303 A discloses a backpack sprayer powered by an internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine is started via a starting device comprising a starter rope. The starter rope is guided from the internal combustion engine, which is mounted on a backpack, laterally and forwardly into the area of the back plate of the backpack. The starter handle extends forward to the side of the operator. The starter rope is guided adjacent to the starter handle on a pivot bearing. By adjusting the pivot bearing, the orientation of the starter handle can be changed. The structural design is comparatively complex.

[0003] From DE 34 10 966 A1 a brush cutter is known whose starter cable is guided through an opening in a U-shaped holder against which the starter handle rests in an initial position.

[0004] From JP H11-127670 A a combine harvester with a starter device is known, the starter rope of which is deflected via a pulley and the starter handle of which rests on a spiral-shaped stopper.

[0005] From US 5,988,132 A an outboard motor with a starter rope is known, which is guided via a guide flange or a rope pulley through a rope outlet opening from a housing.

[0006] From US 2003 / 0056746 A1 a backpack blower is known in which the starter handle protrudes approximately horizontally forward in the storage position of the blower and is held on the housing by a bracket.

[0007] From US 3,361,124 A a starter device is known in which, when starting, a pull rod is actuated via the starter cable and a pulley, thereby opening a decompression valve and actuating the choke.

[0008] The invention is based on the object of creating a starter device for an internal combustion engine that has a simple design and enables convenient starting of the internal combustion engine regardless of the starter handle orientation. A further object of the invention is to provide a backpack-mounted implement with an internal combustion engine and a starter device.

[0009] This object is achieved with respect to the starting device by a starting device having the features of claim 1 or by a starting device having the features of claim 11. With respect to the backpack-mounted implement, the object is achieved by a backpack-mounted implement having the features of claim 12.

[0010] A guide element is arranged at the cable outlet opening, which holds the starter cable in the cable outlet opening. The cable guide comprises at least one deflection pulley, and the cable outlet opening is arranged along a circumferential section of the deflection pulley of the cable guide. The cable outlet opening extends along the circumferential section over a circumferential angle of the deflection pulley of at least 60°. The circumferential angle is advantageously more than 90°, expediently more than 100°, in particular more than 110°, preferably more than 120°.

[0011] Because the cable outlet opening is arranged along a circumferential section of a pulley and extends over a circumferential angle of at least 60°, the orientation of the starter cable in the cable outlet opening can be changed by simply moving the starter handle in the appropriate direction. This allows the longitudinal center axis of the starter handle to assume different angles relative to the housing of the starter device. A complex pivot bearing for the starter cable is eliminated. The starter cable is deflected via the pulley and the appropriately arranged and dimensioned cable outlet opening.

[0012] The extension of the rope outlet opening along the circumferential section is advantageously an extension radially directly on the circumference of the deflection pulley of the rope guide or an arrangement of the rope outlet opening in which the rope outlet opening has a radial distance from the circumference of the deflection pulley which corresponds at most to twice the diameter, preferably at most to the diameter of the deflection pulley.

[0013] The guide element advantageously at least partially delimits the cable outlet opening. The cable outlet opening advantageously extends over a width measured parallel to the axis of the deflection pulley, which advantageously corresponds to 1 to 3 times the width of the deflection pulley. The width of the cable outlet opening is preferably smaller than the width of the underside of the starter handle facing the cable outlet opening, so that the starter handle can be supported on the guide element with its underside on both sides of the starter cable in the axial direction. The cable outlet opening advantageously extends along the circumference of the deflection pulley over a length that is greater than the extension of the starter handle on the underside. As a result, the starter handle cannot be supported on the guide element with its underside in the circumferential direction, or can only be supported on one side. The length of the cable outlet opening is advantageously at least three times the width of the cable outlet opening measured parallel to the axis of the deflection pulley. The cable outlet opening is preferably made up of at least two sections along its length that are at an angle to one another. The angle measured at the location of the deflection pulley in the direction of view of the axis of the deflection pulley is advantageously less than 120°, in particular less than 90°, preferably less than 70°, in particular approximately 60°. The starter handle advantageously has a first starting position in which the starter handle is arranged in a first end position at the cable outlet opening, and a second starting position in which the starter handle is arranged in a second end position at the cable outlet opening. In the first end position of the starter handle, the underside of the starter handle is advantageously arranged on a different one of the two sections arranged at an angle to one another than in the second end position.

[0014] Advantageously, the starter handle rests on the guide element when the starter mechanism is not actuated. The force required to engage the starter handle on the guide element in the direction of the starter rope is preferably applied by a return spring of the starter mechanism, which pulls the starter handle against the guide element. In an advantageous design, the guide element is formed by a housing of the starter mechanism. Advantageously, the starter handle is not held positively to the guide element in the transverse direction of the circumferential section, but is displaceable relative to the guide element in the direction of an axis of the deflection element. This allows the starter handle to deflect sideways, for example if an operator gets caught on the starter handle, preventing the forces from being transmitted to the rope guide. This prevents damage to the rope guide.

[0015] A simple design results if the guide element is at least partially formed by a wire ring. This allows for a simple, durable, and low-wear design. The wire ring need not be circular and is designed, in particular, as an open, preferably slotted, wire ring. The wire ring is advantageously fixed in a housing of the starter device. Particularly preferably, the wire ring is clipped into a housing of the starter device. The housing of the starter device is preferably made of plastic, resulting in a low weight.

[0016] To prevent the starter rope from slipping sideways off the deflection pulley or from becoming trapped between the guide element and the deflection pulley on the side surface of the deflection pulley, it is advantageously provided that a distance measured parallel to the axis of the deflection pulley between the guide element and the side surface of the deflection pulley is smaller than the diameter of the starter rope. In particular, the distance is smaller than half the diameter of the starter rope. The deflection pulley can be fixed in a rotationally fixed manner to a starter housing of the starter device or can be formed integrally with the starter device. To achieve the lowest possible friction between the starter rope and the deflection pulley, the deflection pulley is preferably mounted so that it can rotate about its axis. The pivot bearing for the deflection pulley is simple to design and requires only minimal construction effort. At the same time, the friction between the starter rope and the deflection pulley can be significantly reduced. This reduces the starting forces required to start the combustion engine.

[0017] The cable guide advantageously has a second deflection pulley over which the starter cable is guided, with the second deflection pulley resting on a section of the cable between the cable pulley and the first deflection pulley. By providing at least one second deflection pulley, the starter cable can be guided securely even over a greater distance between the cable pulley and the cable outlet opening. This makes it easy to achieve a suitable, ergonomic position for the cable outlet opening for the operator. The axis of the second deflection pulley is advantageously arranged perpendicular to the axis of the first deflection pulley. The two deflection pulleys thus achieve the deflections around two spatial axes that are perpendicular to one another. This enables a defined deflection and good guidance of the starter cable on the deflection pulleys. The cable guide preferably comprises a third deflection pulley, which rests on a cable section between the cable pulley and the second deflection pulley on the starter cable. The third deflection pulley is advantageously a deflection pulley arranged adjacent to the cable pulley of the starter device. Additional deflection pulleys can be provided between the second deflection pulley and the third deflection pulley if necessary.

[0018] The cable guide is advantageously arranged at least partially in a cantilevered arm of a starter housing. The starter device is advantageously designed as a module. Accordingly, all components of the starter device, including the cable guide, are connected to one another in such a way that they form an assembly. This means that the entire starter device can be mounted on a work tool as a module or removed from a work tool. The position of the cable outlet opening relative to the other components of the starter device is structurally fixed in the module. The position of the cable outlet opening relative to the other components of the starter device is advantageously not adjustable. The position of the starter handle at the cable outlet opening is adjusted by changing the position of the handle relative to the cable outlet opening and not by changing the position of the cable outlet opening relative to other components of the starter device.A simple design is achieved if the starter device has a starter housing on which all components of the starter device are mounted. The starter housing does not have to be a closed housing, but can be partially open and, in particular, be intended for connection to a housing of the implement, for example, a motor housing of the implement. The position of the cable outlet opening is advantageously fixed structurally on the starter housing. This makes it easy to specify the position of the cable outlet opening relative to the other components of the starter device.

[0019] The starter device is advantageously designed such that the starter handle is always in the same position in the unactuated position, so that the operator can intuitively grip the starter handle in this position. The starter handle advantageously has a first starting position in which the starter handle is arranged in a first end position at the cable outlet opening, and a second starting position in which the starter handle is arranged in a second end position at the cable outlet opening. When the starter device is not actuated, the starter handle is advantageously arranged in the first starting position due to the forces acting on the starter cable. The cable outlet opening is therefore designed such that forces act on the starter handle in the direction of the first end position in every position. The starter handle advantageously has an underside facing the cable outlet opening. The underside of the starter handle is advantageously designed to rest on the guide element. The starter handle has a center plane that contains the longitudinal center axis of the starter rope on the underside of the starter handle and that runs parallel to the axis of the first deflection pulley. The spatial position of the center plane relative to the guide element therefore changes when the position of the starter handle relative to the rope outlet opening changes. In the second starting position, the starter handle advantageously rests on the guide element exclusively on the side of the center plane facing the axis. Because the starter handle does not rest on the guide element on the side of the center plane facing away from the axis, the starter handle can be moved towards the side facing away from the center plane due to the return force of a winding device of the starter mechanism acting in the starter rope and can thus be adjusted to the first end position.

[0020] For an alternative design of a starter device, it is advantageously provided that a guide element is arranged at the cable outlet opening, which holds the starter cable in the cable outlet opening, and that the cable guide comprises at least one deflection element arranged at the cable outlet opening. The deflection element has two tangents that intersect at an angle of less than 90°. The circumferential section has a minimum radius that is larger than the diameter of the starter cable.

[0021] The two tangents advantageously correspond to the longitudinal direction of the starter rope in the end positions of the starter handle on the rope guide. The angle between the two tangents is the supplementary angle to the maximum deflection angle by which the starter rope is deflected by the deflection element. The angle between the two tangents and the maximum deflection angle therefore add up to 180°. The angle between the two tangents is measured on the side facing away from the rope outlet. Between the two tangents, on the side on which the angle between the tangents is measured, lie the deflection element and one or more axes of the deflection element around which the deflection element is curved. In every position in which the starter handle rests on the guide element, the starter handle lies outside the area between the tangents in which the angle between the tangents is measured.

[0022] Because the two tangents to the deflection element enclose an angle of less than 90°, the orientation of the starter rope in the rope outlet opening can be changed by simply moving the starter handle in the corresponding direction over an angle of more than 90°. This allows the longitudinal center axis of the starter handle to assume different angles relative to a housing of the starter device. A complex pivot bearing for the starter rope can be eliminated. The deflection of the starter rope is achieved via the deflection element and the correspondingly arranged and dimensioned rope outlet opening. The designs described for the starter device with a deflection pulley can also advantageously be provided for a starter device with a deflection element.

[0023] The angle between the tangents is advantageously less than 80°, in particular less than 70°, preferably less than 60°. This enables a large variation in the orientation of the starter handle when starting. The comparatively large minimum radius of the circumferential section of the deflection element easily prevents damage to the starter cable, which is to be feared when deflecting over an edge of a cable outlet opening that is not or only slightly rounded. The minimum radius of the deflection element is preferably at least 8 mm, in particular at least 13 mm. The deflection element advantageously adjoins the cable outlet opening directly or at a short distance. The distance between the deflection element and the cable outlet opening is advantageously at most four times the minimum radius, in particular at most twice the minimum radius. In a particularly advantageous design, the deflection element extends through the cable outlet opening into the cable guide. This allows for a particularly small deflection radius.

[0024] The deflection element advantageously has an axis around which the deflection element extends in a curved radius. A constant radius is preferably provided. If the radius is not constant, several axes arranged at a distance from one another are advantageously provided, around which the deflection element extends in a curved manner.

[0025] Instead of the second deflection pulley and the third deflection pulley, deflection elements can also be provided which are not designed as a roller and which are in particular fixed in a rotationally fixed manner to the starter housing.

[0026] For a backpack-mounted implement with an internal combustion engine and a starter device, the internal combustion engine is arranged on a backpack assembly. The implement has a storage position in which the implement is parked on a flat, horizontal storage surface. The starter handle has a first starting position in which the starter rope in the rope outlet opening in the storage position is inclined by an angle of less than 45°, in particular less than 40°, to the storage surface. Advantageously, the first starting position is a position in which the handle axis and / or the starter rope in the rope outlet opening in the storage position are inclined by an angle of less than 45°, in particular less than 40°, to the storage surface. The starter rope and / or the handle axis are advantageously inclined in such a way that the distance of the starter rope from the storage surface decreases or increases in the direction of the starter handle.that the starter handle is at a greater distance from the parking surface on its underside than on its upper side opposite the starter rope. The starter handle also has a second starting position. In the second starting position, the starter rope in the rope outlet opening in the parking position is inclined to the vertical by an angle of less than 15°, in particular less than 10°. The second starting position is advantageously a position in which the handle axis and / or the starter rope in the rope outlet opening in the parking position are inclined to the vertical by an angle of less than 15°, in particular less than 10°. In the first starting position, the starter handle is therefore in an approximately horizontal orientation and in the second starting position in an approximately vertical orientation. The first starting position is particularly advantageous for starting the combustion engine when the operator is carrying the implement on his back.To start the combustion engine, the starter handle can be moved forward relative to the operator in the first starting position. The second starting position is particularly advantageous if the operator wants to start the combustion engine while the implement is on the ground. In the second starting position, the operator can easily start the combustion engine in the parked position by pulling the starter handle upwards. Pulling the starter handle backwards can also be advantageous. The design of the rope outlet opening therefore enables ergonomic starting both when the implement is mounted on the back and when the implement is parked on the ground. The position of the rope outlet opening relative to the backpack arrangement is advantageously fixed.

[0027] When the starter mechanism is not actuated, the starter handle is advantageously positioned in the first starting position. The starter mechanism advantageously has a winding device that generates a force on the starter cable in the winding direction, with the guide element being designed such that the force of the winding device in the second starting position exerts a force component on the starter handle in the direction of the first starting position. The force applied by the winding device, in particular by a return spring, allows the starter handle to be securely adjusted to the first starting position.

[0028] The starter device, including the cable guide, is advantageously mounted on a common starter housing. The starter housing is designed separately from the engine housing of the implement, in which the combustion engine is located. By arranging the starter device, including the cable guide, in a starter housing separate from the engine housing, the starter device can be mounted on the engine housing as a module, i.e., as a single assembly, or removed from the engine housing. This simplifies the assembly of the starter device.

[0030] Fig. 1 shows a blower 1 as an exemplary embodiment of a backpack-mounted implement. The backpack-mounted implement can also be another internal combustion engine-powered implement, such as a sprayer, a vacuum cleaner, a brush cutter with a backpack-mounted motor unit, or the like. The blower 1 has a backpack 2 comprising a back plate 4 and a base plate 5. Fig. 1 shows the blower 1 in a storage position 50, in which the blower 1 is arranged with the base plate 5 on a flat, horizontal storage surface 51. In the exemplary embodiment, a plurality of support feet 53 are provided on an underside 52 of the blower 1 facing the storage surface 51, which is formed on the base plate 5, with which the blower 1 stands on the storage surface 51. In the storage position 52, a carrying handle 3 is arranged in the upper region of the working device, in particular on the back plate 4 or a blower spiral 10.

[0031] The blower 1 has an engine housing 7 in which an internal combustion engine 9 is arranged. The internal combustion engine 9 is advantageously a single-cylinder engine, in particular a two-stroke engine or a mixture-lubricated four-stroke engine. A starter device 8 is used to start the internal combustion engine 9. The internal combustion engine 9 drives a Fig. 2 shown impeller 12, which conveys a working air stream via the blower spiral 10 into a blower pipe 11 connected to the blower spiral 10. The blower pipe 11 is usually provided with a Fig. 1 A handle (not shown) is fixed, with which the operator can guide the blowpipe 11. The starting device 8 has a starting handle 35, the position of which can be Fig. 1 is shown schematically. In the exemplary embodiment, the starter handle 35 is arranged laterally adjacent to the back plate 4, preferably in a lower region of the back plate 4.

[0032] Fig. 2 shows the blower 1 schematically on an operator 18. The operator 18 carries the blower using carrying straps 6 that are attached to the backpack 2. The motor housing 7 is advantageously held on the backpack 2 in a vibration-decoupled manner via anti-vibration elements 17. In the exemplary embodiment, the blower spiral 10 is arranged adjacent to the back plate 4 and the combustion engine 9 is on the side of the blower spiral 10 facing away from the back plate 4. The combustion engine 9 has a cylinder 13 in which a piston 14 is mounted to reciprocate. The piston 14 drives a crankshaft 15 that is rotatably mounted in a crankcase 16. The blower wheel 12 is connected to the crankshaft 15 in a rotationally fixed manner and is driven in rotation by the crankshaft 15. In the exemplary embodiment, a fuel tank 19 is fixed to the backpack 2, in particular to the base plate 5 of the backpack 2, below the engine housing 7.

[0033] Fig. 3 shows, by way of example, the structure of a pull-cord starter 76 of a starting device 8. However, the starting device 8 can also comprise a pull-cord starter 76 of a different design. The starting device 8 has a starter housing 20, on which a bearing shaft 21 of the starting device 8 is held. A pulley 23 is mounted on the bearing shaft 21 so as to be rotatable about a rotation axis 48. The rotation axis 48 is the longitudinal center axis of the bearing shaft 21. A return spring 22 acts between the starter housing 20 and the pulley 23, which returns the pulley 23 to its starting position as soon as the operator 18 releases the starter handle 35. In the exemplary embodiment, the starting device 8 also comprises a spring 28, which is arranged in a spring housing 27 and is operatively connected between the pulley 23 and the crankshaft 15. The spring stores the energy of one or more starting strokes for starting the combustion engine 9. In the exemplary embodiment, the spring 28 is a spiral spring. However, the spring 28 can also be another spring, in particular a helical spring. The cable pulley 23 has a diameter i that corresponds to the largest diameter of the cable pulley 23.

[0034] In Fig. 3 As an exemplary embodiment, a cable starter 67 is shown in which the energy stored in the spring 28 is generated over several starting strokes of a Fig. 3 starter cable (not shown). For this purpose, a first coupling device 24 is provided in operative connection between the cable pulley 23 and the spring housing 27, which establishes a rotationally fixed connection to the spring housing 27 when the cable pulley 23 rotates in the starting direction. In the opposite direction, the first coupling device 24 acts as a freewheel and allows the cable pulley 23 to rotate back relative to the spring housing 27. To prevent the spring 28 from relaxing when the cable pulley 23 is rotated back, a second coupling device 16 is provided. The second coupling device 26 prevents rotation of the spring housing 27 counter to the starting direction and allows rotation in the starting direction. In the exemplary embodiment, the spring 28 is connected at one end to the spring housing 27 and at its other end to a driver 29.The driver 29 is connected to the crankshaft 15 of the internal combustion engine via a third coupling device 30, in particular indirectly via a flywheel 31.

[0035] The Fig. 4 bis 27 show the design of the starting device 8 in detail. The description of the spatial position of the starting device 8 is based on a coordinate system that is also used in the Fig. 1, 2 , and 3 is marked. How Fig. 1 shows, the y-axis runs vertically upwards in storage position 52. The z-axis runs horizontally in storage position 52. As Fig. 1 combined with Fig. 3 As shown in the drawing, the axis z in the exemplary embodiment runs perpendicular to the rotational axis 48 of the cable pulley 23. However, a different orientation of the rotational axis 48 may also be advantageous. The axis z is directed towards the side on which the handle 35 is located. Fig. 1 the rotation axis 48 is also shown. As Fig. 2 shows, the axis x is perpendicular to the axes y and z and from the crankshaft 15 towards the bearing shaft 21 ( Fig. 3 ). The x, y, and z axes form a Cartesian coordinate system.

[0036] How Fig. 4 shows, the starter housing 20 has an arm 39 which projects laterally, in particular diagonally, from the plane of the cable pulley 23. Arranged on the arm 39 is a cable outlet opening 36 through which the starter cable 34 projects and against which the starter handle 35 rests. The starter handle 35 is arranged away from the cable pulley 23. The starter cable 34, which is wound around the circumference of the cable pulley 23 and which is pulled over the starter handle 35 when the internal combustion engine is started in order to set the cable pulley 23 in rotation, is guided via a cable guide 38 from the cable pulley starter 76 to the cable outlet opening 36.

[0037] How Fig. 4 As also shown, a peripheral wall 33 is arranged on the starter housing 20, which surrounds the pull starter 76 and thus protects it from dirt. In the exemplary embodiment, fastening domes 49 are arranged on the outside of the peripheral wall 33, by means of which the starter housing 20 is attached to the motor housing 7 of the blower 1 ( Fig. 1 ) can be screwed. Because the arm 39 is formed on the starter housing 20 and is firmly connected to it, the entire assembly can be fixed as a unit to the engine housing 7. The position of the cable outlet opening 36 relative to the other components of the starter device 8, in particular relative to the bearing shaft 21 and the cable pulley 23 of the pull-cord starter 76 ( Fig. 3 ), is structurally predetermined by the design of the starter housing 20. The arm 39 has a first section 54, which is designed as a shell that is open upwards in the y-direction, i.e. in the parked position 50, and which, when mounted on the engine housing 7, comes to rest on the underside of a part of the engine housing 7 and is at least partially closed by the engine housing 7. The arm 39 also has a second section 55, which in the exemplary embodiment is approximately U-shaped in cross-section and which comes to rest laterally on the outside of the engine housing 7. Fig. 4 shows the starter handle 35 in a first starting position 43, in which the starter handle 35 is in the parking position 50 ( Fig. 1 ) is approximately horizontally aligned.

[0038] Fig. 5 shows the design of the cable outlet opening 36 in detail. In the exemplary embodiment, the cable outlet opening 36 has an approximately rectangular cross-section with two long sides and two narrow sides. A guide element 37 is arranged at the cable outlet opening 36 and delimits the cable outlet opening 36. The guide element 37 is arranged on the starter housing 20. The guide element 37 can be formed completely or partially by the starter housing 20. In the exemplary embodiment, a part 57 of the guide element 37 is fixed to the housing and is formed on the starter housing 20. The part 57 fixed to the housing delimits the cable outlet opening 36 only on a second narrow side, which in the second end position of the starter handle 35 is closer to the starter handle 35. In the exemplary embodiment, a further part of the guide element 37 is formed by an insert part, which is advantageously fastened to the starter housing 20 in an interchangeable manner. The insert part delimits at least the long sides of the cable outlet opening 36 as well as a first narrow side, which in the first end position of the starter handle 35 is closer to the starter handle 35.

[0039] If the starter handle 35 is not pulled in the plane of the first deflection pulley 40, the cable can rub against the part of the guide element 37 designed as an insert. To minimize friction and prevent the starter cable 34 from cutting into the guide element 37, the edges of the insert are rounded. The insert is advantageously made of a different material than the starter housing 20. The insert is advantageously designed as a slotted wire ring 72 bent around the axis 45. In the exemplary embodiment, the insert is a bent metal part. The slot of the wire ring 72 lies on the second narrow side of the cable outlet opening 36. During a starter stroke, the second narrow side is generally not contacted by the starter cable 34. The wire ring is held on the starter housing 20, in particular, with slight pretension.

[0040] Fig. 6 shows a side view of the starter device 8. How Fig. 6 shows, the arm 39 extends in this side view essentially in the x-direction. In the y-direction, the arm 39 has only a small extension. The starter housing 20 has a cover section 56, to which the peripheral wall 33 is fixed and to which the bearing shaft 21 ( Fig. 4 ) is fixed. The arm 39 projects from the cover section 56. As Fig. 6 shows, the cable outlet opening 36 is in storage position 50, which corresponds to Fig. 6 shown position of the starting device 8, below the rotation axis 48, i.e. closer to the support surface 51. In the y-direction, the cable outlet opening 36 has a distance b from the rotation axis 48. The distance b is greater than a quarter of the diameter i of the cable pulley 23 ( Fig. 3 ). In the exemplary embodiment, the distance b is approximately half the diameter i. As Fig. 6 also shows, an underside 65 of the starter handle 35 facing the arm 39 is located at the cable outlet opening 36, namely at the Fig. 6 non-visible guide element 37. At the bottom 65, the starter cable 34 enters the starter handle 35. In the exemplary embodiment, the cable guide 38 has a deflection roller 40 which is rotatably mounted about an axis 45. The deflection roller 40 can also be rigidly connected to the starter housing 20. The starter cable 43 has a longitudinal center axis 64 in the section adjoining the starter handle 35. In the exemplary embodiment, the longitudinal center axis 64 coincides with the longitudinal center axis of the starter handle 35. The longitudinal center axis 64 runs in the Fig. 6 shown position in storage position 50 parallel to the storage surface 51. In storage position 50, the longitudinal center axis 64 in the exemplary embodiment advantageously forms an angle of less than 15°, in particular less than 10°, with the storage surface 51.

[0041] Fig. 7 shows the design of the rope outlet opening 36 in detail. In the exemplary embodiment, the rope outlet opening 36 extends along the circumference and in the axial direction of the deflection pulley 40. The rope outlet opening 36 extends along a circumferential section 84 over a circumferential angle α around the first deflection pulley 40, which is at least 60°. The circumferential angle α is measured around the axis 45 of the first deflection pulley 40 between the connecting lines of the ends of the rope outlet opening 36 to the axis 45. The circumferential angle α is thus measured between two radials to the axis 45, each of which runs from the axis 45 to a tangential outer end of the rope outlet opening 36. The circumferential angle α is advantageously at least 60°, in particular at least 90°, advantageously at least 100°, preferably at least 110°. In the exemplary embodiment, the circumferential angle α is more than 120°. The cable outlet opening 36 is curved, at least in a central section. On the bottom 65 (. Fig. 7 ) the outlet opening 36 or the guide element 37 runs in the direction shown in Fig. 7 shown first starter position 43 parallel to the underside 65. In the exemplary embodiment, the underside 65 of the starter handle 35, the cable outlet opening 36 and the guide element 37 delimiting the cable outlet opening 36 extend in the y-direction in the area adjacent to the underside 65.

[0042] In the exemplary embodiment, the cable outlet opening 36 has a first section 82 and a second section 83. In a first end position, the starter handle 35 lies with its underside 65 facing the first section 82 and in a second end position it faces the second section 83. The first section 82 and the second section 83 are arranged at an angle to one another around the axis 45. The sections 82 and 83 enclose an angle δ which is advantageously less than 90°, preferably less than 70°, in particular approximately 60°. In the exemplary embodiment, an angle δ of approximately 90° is provided. Advantageously, the sections 82 and 83 are flat, and there is an arcuate section between them which approximately follows the circumference of the deflection pulley 40. In the exemplary embodiment, the first section 82 and the second section 83 have different distances from the axis 45 of the deflection pulley 40.In the exemplary embodiment, the first section 82 is located closer to the axis 45 than the second section 83. A course of the cable outlet opening 36 that exactly follows the circumference of the deflection pulley 40 can also be advantageous. In the exemplary embodiment, the deflection pulley 40 does not protrude beyond the cable outlet opening 36. As . Fig. 7 also shows, the first deflection roller 40 has a distance f from a second deflection roller 41, which will be described in more detail below.

[0043] Fig. 8 shows the starting device 8 in a plan view in the y-direction. Fig. 8 shows, the cable outlet opening 36 has a distance c in the z-direction from the rotational axis 48 of the cable pulley 23. The distance c is advantageously greater than the diameter i of the cable pulley 23. In the exemplary embodiment, the distance c is more than twice, advantageously more than 2.5 times, the diameter i ( Fig. 3 ). In the x-direction, the cable outlet opening 36 is at a distance h from the bearing shaft 21. The distance h is also advantageously comparatively large and amounts to more than the diameter i of the cable pulley 23. In the exemplary embodiment, the distance h in the x-direction is approximately 1.5 times to 2 times the diameter i of the cable pulley 23. The distance h is measured from the end face of the bearing shaft 21. The center point 78 of the deflection pulley 40 and the center point 79 of the cable pulley 23 are at a distance e from one another, which is advantageously at least 1.5 times, in particular at least 2 times, the diameter i of the cable pulley 23. The center points 78 and 79 are the geometric centers of the deflection pulley 40 and the cable pulley 23.

[0044] The cable guide 38 also includes the second pulley 41 ( Fig. 13 ), whose axis 46 in Fig. 8 shown. How Fig. 8 As shown, the axes 45 and 46 of the deflection rollers 40 and 41 are perpendicular to each other. The axis 45 of the deflection roller 40 runs in the z-direction and the axis 46 of the deflection roller 41 runs in the y-direction. The coordinate system can also be spanned by the axes 45 and 46, especially if the axes 45 and 46 are in a different position with respect to the parking position 50. The z-direction lies in the direction of the axis 45 and the y-direction in the direction of the axis 46. As Fig. 8 also shows, the starter cable 34 coming from the pulley 23 to the second deflection pulley 41 is guided at an angle γ relative to the axis of rotation 48 of the pulley 23, which opens towards the starter handle 35 and which is in the xz-plane, which is Fig. 8 shown, is from 20° to 80°, advantageously from 40° to 75°. In the exemplary embodiment, the angle γ is approximately 60°.

[0045] In Fig. 9 A third deflection pulley 42 is shown schematically, which is arranged adjacent to the cable pulley 23 and, in the exemplary embodiment, below the cable pulley 23. The third deflection pulley 42 is spaced 1 from the cable pulley 23. The third deflection pulley 42 has an axis 47. In the exemplary embodiment, all deflection pulleys 40, 41, 42 are rotatable about their respective axes 45, 46, 47. However, the deflection pulleys 40, 41, and 42 can also be rigidly connected to the starter housing 20. In storage position 50, the axis 47 of the third deflection pulley 42 is advantageously closer to the storage surface 51 than the axis 45 of the first deflection pulley 40. Advantageously, all deflection pulleys 40, 41 and 42 in storage position 50 are closer to the storage surface 51 than the cable pulley 23. Expediently, all deflection pulleys 40, 41 and 42 are located between two planes 110 and 111 which are oriented parallel to the storage surface 51 and which have a distance n from one another which is less than half the diameter i of the cable pulley 23.The distance f between the first deflection pulley 40 and the second deflection pulley 41 (. Fig. 7 ) and the distance 1 between the third deflection pulley 42 and the cable pulley 23 are advantageously smaller than the diameter i of the cable pulley 23, in particular smaller than half the diameter i. Fig. 9 schematically drawn second deflection roller 41 and the Fig. 9 The schematically drawn third deflection roller 42 is spaced apart by a distance m. The distance m between the second deflection roller 41 and the third deflection roller 42 is advantageously at least twice as large as each of the distances f and l.

[0046] How Fig. 10 shows, the guide element 37 runs on both long sides of the cable outlet opening 36. The deflection roller 40 is arranged in particular centrally between the two long sides of the guide element 37. The arrangement of a receptacle 69 for the guide element 37 on both long sides of the cable outlet opening 36 is shown in Fig. 28 shown.

[0047] How Fig. 11 shows, the third deflection pulley 42 is also at a distance from the axis of rotation 48 in the y-direction. The axis 47 of the third deflection pulley 42 is at a distance g from the axis 48 which, in the exemplary embodiment, is somewhat greater than half the diameter i of the cable pulley 23. The third deflection pulley 42 is arranged adjacent to the peripheral wall 33 on the outside of the peripheral wall 33. The third deflection pulley 42 is further away from the starter handle 35 in the z-direction than the axis of rotation 48. The third deflection pulley 42 is at a distance e from the axis of rotation 48 in the z-direction which, in the exemplary embodiment, is smaller than the diameter i, in particular smaller than half the diameter i. The distance e is advantageously 0.1 to 0.4 times the diameter i.

[0048] Fig. 12 shows the design of the starter housing 20 in detail. The starter housing 20 comprises a first housing part 58, which essentially forms the cover section 56 and the peripheral wall 33 as well as the fastening domes 49. The bearing shaft 21 of the starter device 8, together with all components mounted on the bearing shaft 21, as well as the third deflection pulley 42, are held on the first housing part 58. The area of the first housing part 58 covering the deflection pulley 42 is in the Fig. 11 and 12 not shown, but in Fig. 9 The first housing part 58 also has a connecting piece 60 ( Fig. 13 ) which projects into a connection pocket 77 of the arm 39. The connection piece 60 is designed as a hollow profile, in the embodiment with an approximately rectangular cross-section, as Fig. 13 shows. A second housing part 59 forms the arm 39. The separation point between the first housing part 58 and the second housing part 59 is located approximately centrally between the second deflection roller 41 and the third deflection roller 42. The second housing part 59 is inserted into a receiving groove 61 of the first housing part 58, and the first housing part 58 projects with its connecting piece 60 into the connecting pocket 77 of the second housing part 59. The housing parts 58 and 59 are thereby held in a form-fitting manner in the x-direction and in the y-direction. For fixing the arm 39, an extension 80 is provided, which fits into a receptacle 81 ( Fig. 32 ) is inserted into the fan coil 10. The holder 81 is in Fig. 32 for a blower 101 and provided on the blower 1 in a corresponding manner.

[0049] A screw dome 63 is advantageously formed on the second housing part 59, with which the starter housing 20 can also be screwed to the engine housing 7 or to the fan coil 10. For the further embodiment, the arrangement of the screw dome 63 on the fan coil 10 is Fig. 31 shown. By fixing the two housing parts 58 and 59 to the motor housing 7 and / or to the fan coil 10, an additional positional securing of the two housing parts 58 and 59 relative to each other is achieved. Fig. 12 As also shown, in the second section 55, in the area of the second deflection roller 41, stiffening ribs 62 are formed in the second housing part 59. The stiffening ribs 62 simultaneously form a contact surface for the second deflection roller 41.

[0050] Fig. 13 shows the design of the receiving groove 61 and the connecting piece 60. The second housing part 59 is not shown, so that the position of the deflection rollers 40 and 41 relative to each other as well as the design of the inserted part of the guide element 37 is clearly visible. The deflection rollers 40, 41 and 42 ( Fig. 12 ) are part of the cable guide 38. The guide element 37, on which the cable outlet opening 36 is formed, is also part of the cable guide 38.

[0051] How Fig. 14 shows, the guide element 37 is advantageously formed from an angled wire ring 72 in the area preferably in contact with the starter cable 34. In the exemplary embodiment, the wire ring 72 has a shape deviating from the circular shape. The wire ring 71 can preferably be interrupted, in particular slotted. The wire ring 72 has two legs 73 and 74, which run at a distance k from each other. The distance k is advantageously constant over at least 50%, in particular at least 80% of the length of the legs 73 and 74. The distance k corresponds to the width of the cable outlet opening 36. The two legs 73 and 74 run congruently one above the other in a viewing direction in the x-direction, as Fig. 15 combined with Fig. 14 shows. How Fig. 15 As also shown, the two legs 73 and 74 are connected to each other via a connecting bend 75 in the area where the starter handle 35 rests in the first starting position 43. In the first starting position 43, the starter handle 35 is in a first end position. This is shown in Fig. 15 shown. The underside 65 of the first starter handle 35 lies on the guide element 37, namely on the connecting bend 75 and on the areas of the legs 73 and 74 arranged adjacent to the connecting bend 75 ( Fig. 15 ). Opposite the connecting bend 75, the wire ring 72 is slotted.

[0052] How Fig. 16 shows, the starter handle 35 has a central plane 68 that runs parallel to the axis 45 of the first deflection pulley 40 and that contains the longitudinal central axis 64 of the starter cable 34 on the underside 65. The underside 65 has a first side 66 that is arranged on the side of the central plane 68 facing the axis 45 of the first deflection pulley 40. The underside 65 also has a second side 67 that is arranged on the side of the central plane 68 facing away from the axis 45. As Fig. 16 shows, the underside 65 in the first end position of the starter handle 35 rests against the guide element 37 with both the first side 66 and the second side 67. The first starting position 43 is therefore a stable end position for the starter handle 35. The Fig. 15 und 16 also show the perpendicular alignment of axes 45 and 46 to each other. Axis 45 runs parallel to the z-direction and axis 46 parallel to the y-direction. Fig. 16 As also shown, the circumferential section 84, along which the cable outlet opening 36 extends, has a radius r. The radius r is constant in the exemplary embodiment due to the circular cross-section of the deflection pulley 40. However, a different cross-section of the circumferential section 84 can also be advantageous. The radius r denotes the minimum radius in the circumferential section 84, along which the cable outlet opening 36 extends. The radius r is advantageously at least 8 mm, in particular at least 13 mm. The radius r is larger than a diameter d ( Fig. 17 ) of the starter cable 34. In the exemplary embodiment, the radius r is greater than twice the diameter d of the starter cable 34.

[0053] How Fig. 17 shows, the deflection roller 40 has a y-direction, i.e. in a plan view of an xz-plane, as shown in Fig. 17 shown, to the guide element 37 a distance a measured parallel to the axis 45. The distance a is advantageously smaller than the diameter d of the starter cable 34. In the exemplary embodiment, the distance a is significantly smaller than the diameter d. The distance a is advantageously less than half, in particular less than a quarter of the diameter d. The distance a is measured from the guide element 37, in particular from a leg 73, 74 of the guide element 37, to a side surface of the first deflection pulley 40 in the direction of the axis 45. Jamming of the starter cable 34 between the side surfaces of the deflection pulley 40 and the guide element 37 is thereby avoided.

[0054] The Fig. 18 bis 24 show the starter handle 35 in a second starting position 44. In the second starting position 44, the operator can move the starter handle 35 into the parking position 50 ( Fig. 1 ) of the blower 1 upwards. As the Fig. 19 und 20 show, the longitudinal center axis 64 of the starter cable 34 runs vertically directly adjacent to the starter handle 35 in the second starting position 44 in the storage position 50. The longitudinal center axis 64 of the starter cable 34 can also run inclined away from the cable pulley 23 in the second starting position 44. The longitudinal center axis 64 thus forms an angle of less than 15°, in particular less than 10°, with the vertical in the storage position 50. As Fig. 20 shows, the underside of the starter handle 65 in the second starting position 44 rests only with the first side 66 on the guide element 37 ( Fig. 19 ). The second side 67 is exposed. The underside of the starter handle 65 rests against the guide element 37 over at most half of its circumference. When a pulling force is applied to the starter cable 34, as is generated by the return spring 22 ( Fig. 3 ), the starter handle 35 is thereby retracted to the first starting position 43. The second starting position 44 is also an end position of the starter handle 35 in the exemplary embodiment.

[0055] How Fig. 21 shows, the guide element 37 runs in the contact area of the underside 65 on the guide element 37 at an angle β to the longitudinal center axis 64 of the starter cable 34, which is less than 90°. The angle β opens on the side facing away from the axis 45 and the starter handle 35. The angle β is measured outside the cable outlet opening 36 on the side of the cable outlet opening 36 facing away from the deflection pulley 40. Due to the oblique course of the guide element 37 in the area in which the starter handle 35 rests in the second starting position 44, a tensile force on the starter cable 34 causes the starter handle 35 to be adjusted to the first starting position 43. The position of the starter handle 35 in the second starting position 44 is also shown in the Fig. 22 bis 24 shown.

[0056] The Fig. 25 bis 28 show the arrangement without the starter handle 35, wherein the starter cable 34 is arranged in the position associated with the first starting position. The replaceable part of the guide element 37, which in the exemplary embodiment is formed by the wire ring 72, is not shown. Fig. 25 bis 27 show, a receptacle 69 for the replaceable part of the guide element 37 is provided on the second housing part 59. The receptacle 69 is designed as a circumferential groove that surrounds the cable outlet opening 36. In the area of the second narrow side of the cable outlet opening 36, which in the second end position of the starter handle 35 is closer to the starter handle 35, the receptacle 69 narrows towards the outside and in particular has an undercut. In the area of the second narrow side of the cable outlet opening 36 is the housing-fixed part 57 of the guide element 37. This allows the guide element 37 to be clipped into the receptacle 69. The ends of the insert part are adjacent to the second narrow side and do not contact the starter cable 34. The insert part is mounted on the starter housing 20 in particular with slight pretension. The insert part is advantageously held in a clamped manner in the undercut. For assembly on the starter housing 20, the legs of the insert are advantageously pressed toward each other and inserted into the undercut. They spring back apart when released. The ends of the insert, i.e., the wire ring 72, define a slot 71 formed between the ends. The slot 71 facilitates assembly. This easily achieves a positive fixation of the guide element 37. The positive fixation is advantageously carried out in the region of the second narrow side. However, a different fixation of the guide element 37 on the starter housing 20 may also be advantageous.

[0057] As the Fig. 27 und 28 As shown, the first deflection pulley 40 advantageously has a circumferential recess 70 on its circumference, in which the starter cable 34 is guided. The second deflection pulley 41 and the third deflection pulley 42 are also advantageously designed accordingly.

[0058] The Figuren 29 bis 36 show an embodiment of a backpack-mounted blower 101, the construction of which essentially corresponds to that of blower 1. The same reference numerals denote corresponding components in all figures. Components not described for blower 101 are advantageously constructed as described for blower 1. The carrying handle 3 of blower 101 is arranged on the blower spiral 10. As Fig. 29 shows, the blower 101 has a motor housing 7, on which a starting device 108 is arranged. The starting device 108 has an arm 39. In the storage position 50 below the motor housing 7, the fuel tank 19 of the blower 101 is arranged. The fuel tank 19 has a Fig. 30 shown area 32, which projects laterally beyond the back carrier 2 and is not covered at the top. In the area 32, a tank nozzle with a tank cap 122 is arranged. The tank cap is located in the Fig. 30 shown view of the xz-plane, i.e. in the direction of view of the base plate 5 ( Fig. 29 ), laterally outside the backpack 2. The arm 39 extends in a plan view of the blower 101 between the tank nozzle and the blower spiral 10. The starting device 108 projects laterally, i.e. in the direction of the axis z, and in the vertical direction, i.e. in the direction of the axis y, over the tank cap 122, so that the tank cap 122 in the Fig. 29 shown view of the yz-plane does not form the outer boundary of the blower 101. The tank cap 122 is protected in the area located in the x-direction behind the arm 39 and the starter handle 35. This shields the tank cap 122 from branches or the like by the arm 39 and the starter handle 35, thus preventing damage to the tank cap 122. At the same time, the tank cap 122 is easily accessible from above. Fig. 29 shows, the arm 39 runs approximately parallel to the top of the fuel tank 19 and at a distance from the top of the fuel tank 19. The arm 39 runs at a short distance from the fuel tank 19, so that the section of the starter cable between the second deflection pulley 41 and the third deflection pulley 42 is also guided at a short distance from the fuel tank 19.

[0059] The Fig. 29 bis 32 show the starter handle 55 in a first starting position 143, in which the starter handle 35 is in a first end position. When the starter device 108 is not actuated, the starter handle 35 is in the first starting position 143. In the first starting position 143, the starter handle 35 is in the parking position 50 ( Fig. 31 ) is inclined obliquely forwards and downwards relative to the storage surface 51. The forward direction refers to a direction perpendicular to the back plate 4 away from the motor housing 7. The rearward direction refers to a direction perpendicular to the back plate 4 towards the motor housing 7. The downward direction refers to the direction perpendicular to the base plate 5 away from the motor housing 7, and the upward direction is the direction perpendicular to the base plate 5 towards the motor housing 5. Directions parallel to the plane of the back plate 4 and to the plane of the base plate 5 are lateral directions. If the backpack 2 is carried by an operator on the shoulders, the directions are aligned to the front, back, top, bottom and side of the operator when the operator is in an upright posture.

[0060] The longitudinal center axis 64 of the starter cable 34 in the cable outlet opening 36, which corresponds to the longitudinal center axis of the starter handle 35, forms an angle ε with the support surface 51 in the first starting position 143, which is less than 45°. However, the longitudinal center axis 64 and the support surface 51 do not run parallel to each other. The angle ε is advantageously 25° to 40°, in particular approximately 30°. Fig. 31 also shows, the starter handle 35 is arranged laterally in the area of the fan spiral 10 and the backpack 2 and does not protrude beyond the backpack 2 in the direction of the operator.

[0061] The Fig. 31 and 32 show the fixation of the arm 39 to the fan coil 10. How Fig. 31 shows, the screw dome 63 of the arm 39 rests against the fan spiral 10 and is fixed to it. As Fig. 32 shows, the extension 80 of the arm 39 is inserted into a receptacle 81 of the fan spiral 10. As a result, the arm 39 is held adjacent to the first deflection roller 40 in a form-fitting manner in the y-direction and z-direction relative to the fan spiral 10.

[0062] Fig. 33 shows schematically a second starting position 144. In the second starting position 144, the starter handle 35 projects upwards, in particular vertically upwards. The longitudinal center axis 64 coincides with the support surface 51 ( Fig. 31 ) advantageously forms an angle of 90°. In the second starting position, the longitudinal center axis is advantageously inclined to the vertical by an angle of less than 15°, in particular less than 10°.

[0063] The cable guide has a Fig. 32 shown rope outlet opening 136, at which a guide part 137 is arranged. The guide part 137 limits the rope outlet opening 136. The design and fixing of the guide part 137 corresponds - except for the shape of the guide part 137 - to the design of the guide part 37. The guide part 137 has the legs 73 and 74. As Fig. 33 combined with Fig. 34 shows, the cable outlet opening 136 has a first section 132, against which the starter handle 35 rests in the first starting position 143. The first starting position 143 corresponds to a first end position of the starter handle 35. The cable outlet opening 136 also has a second section 133, against which the starter handle 35 rests in the second starting position 144. A third section 134 extends between the sections 132 and 133, which in the exemplary embodiment comprises a flat area. However, it can also be provided that the third section 134 is completely curved. In this exemplary embodiment, too, the first section 132 and the second section 133 of the cable outlet opening 136 have different distances from the axis 45 of the deflection pulley 40.

[0064] How Fig. 35 shows, the starter handle 35 has a pin 135 which projects into the cable outlet opening 136 and holds the starter handle 35 between the two legs 73 and 74 of the wire ring 72 ( Fig. 32 ). The deflection pulley 40 does not protrude beyond the cable outlet opening 136. In Fig. 35 The housing-fixed section 57 is also visible. The starter cable 34 is in the Fig. 35 und 36 shown in a shortened form and not extending into the starter handle 35. The longitudinal center axis 64 of the starter cable 34 in the cable outlet opening 136 and on the underside of the starter handle 35 is in Fig. 35 marked with a dotted line. How Fig. 35 As also shown, the deflection pulley 40 has a circumferential section 184. The circumferential section 184 is the circumferential section along which the cable outlet opening 136 extends. In the circumferential section 184, the deflection pulley has a radius r, which is greater than the diameter d of the starter cable 34. The radius r is advantageously at least twice the diameter d. Preferably, the radius r is at least 8 mm, in particular at least 13 mm.

[0065] How Fig. 36 As shown, sections 132 and 133 form an angle δ that is less than 90°. Advantageously, angle δ is less than 70°, in particular approximately 60°. Angle δ is measured between radials to axis 45, each of which extends to a circumferential end of cable outlet opening 36. The first section 132 extends at an angle to the vertical, i.e., inclined to the y-axis. In the storage position 50, the first section 132 forms an angle η with the storage surface 51 that is more than 45°. In the exemplary embodiment, the second section 133 extends parallel to storage surface 51.

[0066] As the figures show, the starter housing 20 is designed completely separately from the engine housing 7. Because the starter devices 8 and 108 are designed as a module, all of whose components are directly or indirectly connected to the starter housing 20, the starter device 8, 108 can be easily mounted as an assembly on an existing engine housing 7. This also enables retrofitting of the starter device 8, 108 to existing implements. In the event of damage, the starter device 8, 108 can be easily replaced as a complete module.

[0067] The Figuren 37 bis 39 show an embodiment of a cable outlet opening 236 of a cable guide for a backpack blower 1, 101. The cable guide is designed according to the cable guides 38 of the previous embodiments. The cable guide has a starter housing 120, of which Fig. 37 only the area adjacent to the starter handle 35 is shown. Fig. 37 shows the arrangement in storage position 50 in a first starting position 243 of the starter handle 35. In the first starting position 243, the starter handle 35 is aligned approximately horizontally in the exemplary embodiment in storage position 50. A cable outlet opening 236 is formed on the starter housing 120, which is delimited by a guide element 237. When the starter device is not actuated, the starter handle 34 is in the Fig. 37 shown first starting position 234 on the guide element 237.

[0068] How Fig. 37 shows, the cable outlet opening 236 is guided along a circumferential section 284 of a deflection section 240 of the cable guide. The deflection section 240 forms a deflection element for the starter cable 34. The deflection section 240 is convexly curved and extends at a radius r around an axis 45. In the exemplary embodiment, the radius r is constant. However, it can also be provided that the radius r is not constant over the length of the deflection section 240. As Fig. 37 shows, the deflection section 240 projects into the cable outlet opening 236. The circumferential section 284 extends over a wrap angle ω that is at least 90°. The wrap angle ω is the maximum angle by which the starter cable 34 can engage the deflection section 240. The deflection section 240 is considered to be the area whose radius r corresponds at least to the diameter d of the starter cable 34. Areas with a smaller radius are not part of the deflection section 240. The deflection section 240 has a first tangent 285 and a second tangent 286. The first tangent 285 is arranged at the beginning of the deflection section 240, i.e. in the area to which the starter cable 34 first engages when the starter handle 35 is adjusted from the first start position 243 to a second start position (not shown).

[0069] The second tangent 286 is a tangent to the deflection section 240 at the end of the deflection section 240. The second tangent 286 approximately corresponds to the orientation of the starter cable 34 on the underside 65 of the starter handle 35 in the position in which the starter cable 34 rests against the deflection section 240 over the entire deflection section 240 and wraps around the deflection section 240 over the wrap angle ω. The wrap angle ω is measured between a perpendicular to the first tangent 285 at the beginning of the deflection section 240 and a perpendicular to the second tangent 286 at the end of the deflection section 240.

[0070] Tangents 285 and 286 enclose an angle σ on the side facing away from the starter handle 35 in the first starting position 243, which is less than 90°, in particular less than 80°, advantageously less than 70°, preferably less than 60°. The angle σ is measured on the side facing away from the starter handle 35 between the tangents 285 and 286. The angle σ is measured in the area between the tangents 285 and 286, in which the deflection section 240 is also arranged. The angle σ and the wrap angle ω together add up to 180°.

[0071] How Fig. 38 schematically shows, the guide element 237 runs straight on the underside 252, which is located at the bottom in the storage position 50. On the upper side 251, which is located at the top in the storage position 50, the guide element 237 runs in a trumpet-shaped curve outwards. On the vertically extending transverse sides 253 and 254, the guide element 237 also runs straight, as Fig. 38 shows. In the exemplary embodiment, the guide element 237 is formed integrally with the starter housing 120. However, a design comprising a separate part or an insert part that at least partially delimits the cable outlet opening 236 can also be advantageous. It can also be provided that the guide element 237 also extends with an outward curve on the underside 252, which is located at the bottom in the parked position 50. An outward bend on the transverse sides 253 and 254 can also be advantageous. In a particularly preferred design, the guide element is rotationally symmetrical and widens out in a trumpet shape over its entire circumference. This also makes it possible to start an internal combustion engine by pulling the starter cable 34 in the lateral direction, i.e. in the z-direction.

[0072] Fig. 39 shows an embodiment of a cable guide with a cable outlet opening 336. A guide element 337 is arranged at the cable outlet opening 336. The starter handle 35 is arranged in a first starting position 343, in which the starter handle 35 is inclined downwards. The longitudinal center axis 64 of the starter cable 34 on the underside 65 of the starter handle 35 forms the angle ε with the storage surface 51 in the storage position 50. The angle ε can be as follows: Fig. 31 The guide element 337 has a deflection section 340, which approximately corresponds to the deflection section 240. The deflection section 340 projects into the cable outlet opening 336. The deflection section 340 has a circumferential section 384, which extends over a wrap angle ω, which corresponds to the Fig. 37 shown wrap angle ω and which is more than 90°. The tangents 385 and 386, which correspond to the tangents 285 and 296, enclose an angle σ on the side opposite the starter handle 35 in the first starter position 343, which is less than 90°, in particular less than 80°, advantageously less than 70°, preferably less than 60°.

[0073] The circumferential section 384 is the circumferential section of the deflection section 340, along which the cable outlet opening 336 is guided. The circumferential section 384 is thus the circumferential section to which the starter cable 34 can be attached. The starter cable 34 can be attached to the circumferential section 284 via the wrap angle ω. The radius r is in Fig. 39 not shown, but as shown Fig. 37 The cable outlet opening 336 has a bottom side 352 which corresponds in design to the bottom side 252 of the cable outlet opening 236. However, the bottom side 352 of the cable outlet opening 336 is different from the bottom side 252 of the cable outlet opening 236. Fig. 37 shown design away from the starter handle 35. This results in a downward inclination of the starter handle 35. Advantageously, the Fig. 39 not shown transverse sides of the cable outlet opening 336 are inclined to the vertical and connect the underside 352 in a straight line with an upper side 351. The design of the Fig. 39 The cable guide shown is advantageous except for the position of the underside 352 of the cable outlet opening 336 corresponding to the design of the Fig. 37 shown rope guide.

[0074] Fig. 40 shows the starter handle 35 in a second starting position 344. In the second starting position 344, the starter handle 35 is oriented at a slight upward angle. In the second starting position 244, the longitudinal center axis 64 of the starter cable 34 on the underside 65 of the starter handle 35 forms an angle ϕ with a vertical 230 that is less than 15°, in particular less than 10°. This allows the starter handle 35 to be pulled upward by the operator. The underside 65 of the starter handle 35 rests against the side of the guide element 337 that is at the top in the storage position 50.

[0075] Fig. 41 shows the starter handle 35 during the starting process. How Fig. 41 shows, the starter handle 35 can be pulled upwards and diagonally backwards so that the starter cable 34 rests against the guide element 337 over a large part or the entire wrap angle ω. This allows the operator to use a backpack-mounted implement which is equipped with a starter device according to Fig. 41 equipped, also by pulling the starter cable 34 in the parking position 50 upwards and from the back plate 4 ( Fig. 1 ) away. This orientation of the starter handle 35 is in Fig. 41 marked with a dashed line. Because the starter cable 34 is pulled along the guide element 337 at a radius r, damage to the starter cable 34 is avoided.

[0076] To reduce friction and / or wear on the guide element 237, 337, the guide element 237, 337 can be formed at least partially from a different material than the starter housing 120, in particular from metal. Preferably, the deflection section 240, 340 is formed at least partially from metal, in particular from a metallic insert.

[0077] The circumferential section 284, 384, along which the cable outlet opening 236, 336 extends, is measured between tangents 285, 286 and 385, 386, respectively, to the starter cable 34 in the first starting position 243, 343 and the second starting position 344. The circumferential section 284, 384 is thus the section against which the starter cable 34 can maximally engage when the starter handle 35 is pulled. In all embodiments, the minimum radius r of the circumferential section 84, 184, 284, 384 is greater than the diameter d of the starter cable 34, in particular greater than twice the diameter d of the starter cable 34. The deflection sections 240, 340, like the deflection pulley 40, can have a groove on the circumference for lateral guidance of the starter cable 34. It can be provided that the deflection sections 240, 340 protrude into the cable outlet openings 236, 336, as shown. However, it may also be advantageous for the deflection sections 240, 340 to be arranged outside the cable outlet openings 236, 336 and, in particular, to adjoin the cable outlet openings 236, 336. A small distance between the cable outlet opening 236, 336 and the deflection section 240, 340 may also be advantageous. The distance advantageously corresponds to at most four times the minimum radius, in particular, at most twice the minimum radius of the deflection element.

[0078] It may be advantageous for the starter handle 35 to be arranged at least partially in the cable outlet opening 36, 136, 236, 336 in the first starting position 43, 143, 243, 343. It may be provided that the starter handle 35, except for its thickened head, is arranged entirely in the cable outlet opening 36, 136, 236, 336. An arrangement of the starter handle 35 in a cable outlet opening is considered particularly advantageous for a cable outlet opening that widens on all sides, i.e., has a trumpet-like shape.

[0079] All embodiments can be combined with one another. In particular, angles other than the specified angular ranges are possible. The arrangement of the deflection pulleys 41 and 42 is not limited to the embodiments; other positions and orientations of the deflection pulleys 41 and 42 are also possible. In particular, a different alignment of the axes 46 and 47 can be advantageous. A different position, orientation, or alignment of the axis 45 of the deflection pulley 40 can also be advantageous.
