Description

AREA OF INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a method for mounting a light source on a static element of a roofing device, a fastening means for fastening a strip-like component, in particular a strip-like light source, and a roofing device produced therewith. TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

[0002] Canopies are used for a wide variety of applications. One common type of canopy is the so-called patio cover.

[0003] Although the present invention and the underlying problem are described below using a terrace roof as an example, they are not limited to this but can be applied to a wide variety of roof types.

[0004] Patio roofs often feature rafters with variable angles. If the angle of the rafters can be varied, the angle of the roof panels or infill panels, which are typically attached to the rafters, must also be variable.

[0005] The applicant has found a solution described in DE 20 2016 005 196 U1, which provides a locally limited insertion section on the longitudinal beam profile of a roofing structure. A bearing profile section designed to receive a rafter bracket is recessed in this insertion section in such a way that it can be inserted into a gripping section of the rafter bracket for assembly. In this way, a positive fit between the longitudinal beam profile and the rafter bracket can be achieved by longitudinal displacement. With patio roofs, there is often a desire to illuminate the covered area. For this purpose, light sources are often attached to the underside of the structural elements, i.e., the rafters, the longitudinal beam profile, and / or a purlin.

[0006] Due to their variable color selection and homogeneous lighting effect, LED strips are advantageous for lighting purposes, especially RGB LEDs for ambient lighting with changeable colors. Commercially available LED strips have an adhesive backing for mounting. These can easily be attached to the underside of static elements. However, such an adhesive bond can weaken over time.

[0007] Mounting devices are known from other fields, such as from DE 101 60 367 A1. This shows the mounting of a cable duct with a fastening element that has a predetermined breaking point for releasing a sub-element. EP 1 229 624 A1 discloses a method for mounting a light source on a structural element. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] Against this background, the present invention aims to provide an improved method for mounting a light source on a static element of a roofing device, as well as a suitable fastening means and a corresponding roofing device.

[0009] According to the invention, this problem is solved by a method with the features of claim 1 and / or by a fastening means with the features of claim 7 and / or a roofing device with the features of claim 11.

[0010] Accordingly, the following is planned: A method for mounting a light source on a structural element of a roofing device, comprising the following steps: inserting the light source into a recess provided in the structural element for receiving the light source; inserting a fastening element having a handle into the recess; securing the light source with the fastening element in the recess by manually manipulating the handle; and separating the handle from the fastening element by manually manipulating the handle, wherein the steps are carried out in this order.A fastening device for overhead mounting and fastening of a strip-like component, in particular a strip-like light source, comprising: a fastening section, and a handle formed integrally with and projecting from the fastening section, wherein the fastening section is designed for manually actuated fastening of the strip-like component in a recess provided in a static element, wherein a predetermined breaking point is provided on a foot of the handle adjoining the fastening section, which is designed and intended to withstand the manually actuated fastening of the strip-like component in the recess provided in the static element and to detach the handle from the fastening section by manual manipulation in a fastened state of the overhead mounted strip-like component.A roofing device comprising: a static element having a groove for receiving a strip-shaped light source, a strip-shaped light source arranged in the groove, and a fastening element according to the invention, as described above, in the form of a clamp-like locking element which secures the strip-shaped light source in the groove.

[0011] The underlying insight of the present invention is that a weatherproof and aesthetically pleasing fastening of strip-like light sources, in particular LED strips, requires an arrangement in a recess, in particular a groove, and a mechanical fastening means for fastening in the groove.

[0012] The idea underlying the present invention is to provide a fastening means for fastening a strip-like light source in a recess of a static element, which has a handle specially designed for fastening and which can be detached manually after fastening.

[0013] This allows for a very simple, quick, safe and aesthetically pleasing installation of a strip-like light source, which is weatherproof and permanently secures the light source.

[0014] This allows for tool-free and therefore very easy overhead mounting of the light source. Furthermore, the mounting system, especially compared to adhesive connections, can also be easily removed, for example, to replace the strip-shaped light source.

[0015] The recess can be significantly larger than the strip-like light source itself. The light source is positioned within the recess by the mounting device. This allows for adhesive-free installation without the risk of damaging the LED strip when inserting it into the recess. The mounting device is preferably a single piece, consisting of a handle and a mounting section. It is specifically designed for mounting strip-like light sources. However, it can also be used to attach other strip-like components, such as cable ducts or similar items.

[0016] The structural element is a load-bearing component of a roof structure. For example, it could be a rafter, a wall connection, and / or a purlin. It is also conceivable to use a post as the structural element and attach the light fixture to it.

[0017] The recess is provided in a structural element of a roofing structure, preferably in a structural profile such as a rafter-wall connection or purlin profile. Such structural elements are typically formed from an extruded profile, in which the recess can be integrally provided in the form of a groove. Advantageously, the recess does not need to be added to the structural element separately, but can be incorporated during the initial forming of the structural profile.

[0018] The fastener's handle, whose shape is specifically designed to fit the recess, allows for convenient, tool-free installation. This enables tool-free mounting of the strip-shaped light source in the groove. Despite this ease of installation, the handle does not affect the available space for the fastener once mounted, as it is designed to be detachable after manual fastening.

[0019] According to the invention, for such a design of the fastening element, a predetermined breaking point is provided at the base of the handle. For example, this can be a taper or edge located at the transition from the fastening section to the handle of the fastening element.

[0020] A fastening section of the fastening element is preferably designed as a clip-like locking element or locking clip. The locking element is designed to cross the strip-like light source. For this purpose, the clip-like locking element is wider than it is long, so that in the assembled state it covers only the smallest possible area of the strip-like light source, preferably a non-illuminating part.

[0021] Advantageous designs and further developments result from the further sub-claims as well as from the description with reference to the figures in the drawing.

[0022] According to an advantageous embodiment of the method according to the invention, the fastening element is designed as a snap-fit element and is snapped into place in the recess by manipulating the handle. Advantageously, this enables tool-free fastening, which can also be carried out non-destructively at a predetermined breaking point.

[0023] According to an advantageous embodiment, the manipulation of the handle for locking involves applying a pressure load to the locking element. Particularly advantageous is the ability to transfer pressure loads by applying pressure to the handle at a predetermined breaking point of the fastener designed for handle detachment, without the predetermined breaking point itself breaking during fastening.

[0024] According to a preferred embodiment, the separation process includes twisting the handle. The torsional load applied during twisting is advantageously a particularly suitable type of load for separation, since it is easy to apply to a handle and creates a predetermined constriction at a predetermined breaking point, allowing the handle to be easily separated. In particular, the handle can be designed and configured to apply the torsional load, for example, with a widened or wing-like section facing away from the fastening section.

[0025] According to one embodiment, the light source comprises an LED strip, and the mounting element is positioned in an area, particularly a space, between two adjacent LEDs. Advantageously, this prevents any dimming caused by the mounting element. Furthermore, mounting is possible at a multitude of points along the LED strip, as required, between the LEDs.

[0026] According to an advantageous embodiment, the recess is designed as a groove. Furthermore, the fastener has a width greater than the open groove width. The open groove width, in turn, is greater than the length of the fastener. The fastener is inserted into the groove in a position that is rotated during fastening. Specifically, the fastener is inserted into the groove in a longitudinal orientation and then rotated into a transverse orientation, particularly by approximately 90° about an axis passing through the handle. In this way, the fastener can be easily inserted into the groove, and a positive fit securing the strip-like light source within the groove can be easily achieved by rotating it.This is particularly advantageous as it can be done entirely manually and without stopping, since both the 90° rotation and the pressure can be applied manually in one go.

[0027] According to an advantageous embodiment of a fastener, the predetermined breaking point for detachment by manual manipulation differs from that required for manual fastening. In particular, a different type of mechanical load is applied for fastening than for detachment. This advantageously prevents accidental detachment during fastening.

[0028] According to an advantageous embodiment, the handle and the predetermined breaking point are designed for securing the fastening section by manual pressure and for detaching the handle by manual torsion. In this way, the fastening force can be transmitted without the predetermined breaking point yielding, especially since a compressive load does not cause any constriction of the predetermined breaking point. The torsion applied for detachment, on the other hand, causes the material of the handle to constrict in the area of the predetermined breaking point, thus enabling easy detachment.

[0029] According to an advantageous embodiment of the fastening device, the fastening section is designed as a locking element, in particular as a clip-like locking element or locking clip. For example, the fastening handle is integrally formed with its base centrally on the locking element. Thus, the locking element can be easily rotated within the groove. In further embodiments, however, the handle can also be arranged or integrally formed off-center or eccentrically on the locking element. This can be advantageous, for example, for locking, since the locking element can then be hooked on a side facing away from the handle and locked onto the side of the handle with a certain leverage effect.

[0030] The locking device is, in particular, a locking clip with two locking projections, each provided at its edge. The handle is preferably arranged on the clip on the side facing away from the locking projections.

[0031] For example, the fastener can be designed as a plastic injection-molded part, so that the mounting section and the handle can be formed as a single piece during the initial molding process. In other embodiments, it would also be conceivable to achieve this one-piece construction by bonding the handle to the fastener after a separate initial molding process for the handle and the mounting section.

[0032] According to a preferred embodiment, the strip-like light source comprises an LED strip which is mounted in the groove and secured therein by a clip-like locking element. Advantageously, this allows for a wide range of lighting characteristics, for example, through the use of RGB LEDs in various colors. It is also conceivable to optionally or additionally provide different white gradations of LEDs, such as warm white, cool white, or the like.

[0033] In particular, the LED strip can be housed in a C-profile, which is mounted in the groove and secured with a locking mechanism. Preferably, the LED strip is pre-glued into the C-profile. The fastening mechanism then ensures that the LED strip is permanently secured in the C-profile once fully assembled, even if the adhesive should loosen over time.

[0034] The C-profile effectively protects the LED strip against compressive forces applied during installation, thus preventing damage. Furthermore, the C-profile also safeguards the LED strip from damage during insertion into the groove, as well as during transport and storage. Additionally, the C-profile allows for the longitudinal transfer of compressive force, for example, to connect the LED strip to a plug located at its end on the static element within the groove, particularly in a rafter bracket, enabling simple and tool-free connection.

[0035] According to a preferred embodiment, corresponding counter-locking elements are provided within the groove, which engage with the locking element. The strip-like light source is thus secured in the groove by frictional locking.

[0036] According to an advantageous embodiment, the groove is wider than the strip-shaped light source, and the locking elements are arranged to match the width of the strip-shaped light source. The locking elements thus determine the lateral position of the strip-shaped light source in the groove. This advantageously prevents incorrect positioning during assembly.

[0037] According to one embodiment, the clamp-like locking element extends transversely across the strip-like light source. The locking element is specifically arranged in a space between two adjacent LEDs of the LED strip. This prevents the locking element from dimming the light.

[0038] In a preferred embodiment, the groove of the static element is further provided with a transparent, semi-transparent, or diffuse cover. This provides protection against liquid ingress and improves the aesthetic appearance of the static element. Furthermore, it allows the emitted light to be selectively diffused.

[0039] The above configurations and further developments can be combined as desired, where appropriate. In particular, all features of the fastening device and the roofing device are transferable to the method for mounting a light source on a structural element of a roofing device, and vice versa. The fastening device serves, in particular, to carry out the method. The light source of the roofing device is mounted, in particular, according to the method for mounting the light source and / or with the fastening device for attaching a strip-like component.

[0040] Further possible embodiments, developments and implementations of the invention also include combinations of features of the invention not explicitly mentioned above or below with regard to the exemplary embodiments, as long as they fall within the scope of the invention as defined by the claims. [0043] In the figures of the drawing, identical, functionally equivalent and similarly acting elements, features and components - unless otherwise stated - are each provided with the same reference symbols. DESCRIPTION OF EXAMPLES OF EXECUTION

[0044] Fig. 1 shows a cross-sectional view of a structural element 2.

[0045] Structural element 2 is shown here as an example of a rafter of a roof structure with a substantially T-shaped cross-section. The two T-arms are arranged on the underside of the cross-section and extend perpendicularly to a central T-base. The T-arms are designed to support the infill of the roof structure.

[0046] The static element 2 has a recess 3 in the form of a continuous groove on its underside, which here represents the back of the T-arms. The groove 3 is wider inside the T-base than at its open groove width 8 on the underside. Within the groove 3 are two locking projections designed for attaching a strip-like light source 1, which serve as counter-locking elements 14 that can be engaged with a locking element 4. The counter-locking elements 14 ensure a central position of the strip-like light source 1 within the groove 3.

[0047] The design of the groove 3 can be applied not only to a rafter 28 but also to other structural elements 2 of a roofing device 20, for example to a purlin 19 or a wall connection profile 26 (see Fig. 7 und 8 ), which in this case have a substantially identical groove 3 for receiving the strip-like light source 1.

[0048] Fig. 2 shows a cross-sectional view of a strip-shaped light source 1.

[0049] The strip-like light source 1 is an LED strip 6 mounted in a C-profile 13. The C-profile 13 can, for example, be made of aluminum. A width 15 of the C-profile 13 is matched to the arrangement of the locking elements 14 in the groove 3, so that the central positioning of the light source 1 between the locking elements 14 in the groove 3 is predetermined, in which it can be fastened with a fastening element 4.

[0050] The LED strip 6 is pre-glued into the C-profile 13, if necessary using the adhesive strip provided on the back of the LED strip 6. For final assembly, the LED strip 6 is secured in the C-profile 13 with a fastener 4. This ensures that the LED strip 6 remains in its predetermined position after installation, even if the adhesive fails.

[0051] Fig. 3 shows a perspective view of a fastening device 4 for fastening the light source 1 according to Fig. 2 .

[0052] The fastening element 4 is designed and intended for fastening the light source 1 in the groove 3. For this purpose, it has a fastening section 10 and a handle 5 formed integrally with the fastening section 10.

[0053] The handle 5 is shown in an example positioned centrally on the mounting section 10 and extends perpendicularly from it. However, in other embodiments, off-center positions of the handle 5 on the mounting section 10 are also possible, in particular adapted to the geometry of a corresponding groove 3 and / or to the leverage ratios desired for locking.

[0054] A foot 11 of the handle 5 tapers continuously towards the fastening section 10 and forms a predetermined breaking point 12 at the transition to the fastening section 10.

[0055] At one end, facing away from the fastening section 10, the handle 5 is widened, which improves grip and facilitates the application of a torsional force to detach the handle 5 from the fastening section 10. The predetermined breaking point 12 is designed to withstand pressure applied for manual fastening and, in a fastened state, allows the handle 5 to be detached from the fastening section 10 by manually twisting the handle 5.

[0056] The fastening section 10 is designed as a clamp-like locking section and is designed for manually fastening the strip-shaped light source 1 by applying pressure via the handle 10. For this purpose, it has two end locking projections 18 on its side facing away from the handle 5, which correspond to the counter-locking elements 14 of the groove 3. Furthermore, a central retainer, designed to fit the strip-shaped light source 1, is provided centrally opposite the handle to ensure the defined positioning of the light source 1 against a groove base in the groove 3. This retainer also serves to permanently secure the LED strip 6 in the C-profile 13 should the adhesive fail.

[0057] The fastener 4 has a width 7 at its fastening section 10, which is greater than the open groove width 8 of the groove 3 but less than the maximum width inside the groove 3. Conversely, the length 9 of the fastener 4 in the fastening section 10 is less than the open groove width 8.

[0058] In the illustrated embodiment, the fastening element 4 is a one-piece molded injection-molded part, which is made in particular of a plastic.

[0059] Fig. 4 shows a perspective view of a static element 2 and different states of a fastening device 4 when attaching a strip-like light source 1.

[0060] In the depicted state of the static element 2, a strip-like light source 1 is already inserted into the groove 3, which represents a first step in a method for mounting the light source 1. The light source 1 is positioned between the locking elements 14. It can be inserted either by rotating it 90° through the open groove width from bottom to top or by sliding it in laterally from an end face of the static element 2.

[0061] To secure the light source 1, the fastening element 4 with its fastening section 10 is inserted into the groove 3. Before insertion into the groove 3, the fastening element 4 is brought into a first position A, in which the width 7 of the fastening section 10 is aligned along the groove 10, so that the fastening section 10 fits through the open groove width 8.

[0062] In a subsequent position B, the fastening section 10 is inserted into the groove 3.

[0063] To fasten the fastener 4, it is then rotated by 90° into a second position C, so that the wide side of the fastening section 10 is arranged transversely within the groove 3.

[0064] Based on this, the light source 1 can be attached by applying a pressure force to the handle 5, by bringing the fastening section 10, designed as a clamp-like locking element 17, into engagement with the counter-locking elements 14 in the groove 3.

[0065] Once the locking device 17 is engaged, the handle 5 can be separated from the mounting section 10 by twisting it. At the position D shown, the handle 5 is twisted 90° relative to the mounting section 10, causing the predetermined breaking point 12 to taper or break, thus separating the handle 5.

[0066] Finally, the fastening element 4 remains in a position E in which the handle 5 is separated from the fastening section 10 remaining in the groove and the light source 1 is thus positively locked to it.

[0067] Fig. 5 shows a cross-sectional view of a structural element 2 of a roofing device 20 with a light source 1 attached therein.

[0068] This is the one in Fig. 1 The static element 2 shown, wherein the strip-like light source 1 is arranged in the groove 3 and connected to the fastening section 10 designed as a clamp-like locking element 17 in the direction of Fig. 4 is attached in the groove 3 as described.

[0069] The strip-like light source 1 is the LED strip 6 mounted in a C-profile 13 according to Fig. 2 , which is mounted in the groove 3 between the locking elements 14 that define the position of the light source 1. The strip-like light source 1 is fastened therein by the clip-like locking element 17, which runs transversely across the LED strip 6 and is locked to the locking elements 14.

[0070] Fig. 6 shows a perspective detail view of the position of a fastener 4.

[0071] The LED strip 6 has regularly spaced LEDs 16. The distance or gap between two adjacent LEDs 16 is greater than the comparatively short length 9 of the mounting section 10 of the mounting element 4.

[0072] The fastening section 10, which extends transversely across the strip-like light source 1 with the clamp-like locking element 17, is provided in the space between two LEDs. For this purpose, the fastening element 4 is attached in position C according to Fig. 4 arranged and locked between two adjacent LEDs 16 of the LED strip 6.

[0073] Fig. 7 shows a perspective view of a terrace roof with wall connection.

[0074] The terrace roof is an embodiment of a roofing device 20 in which a plurality of structural elements 2 equipped with strip-like light sources are provided. In the illustrated embodiment, structural elements 2 are provided, purely by way of example, in the form of five parallel rafters 28, a wall connection profile 26, and a purlin 19. Posts 21 are also provided, which are not illuminated here for illustrative purposes.

[0075] In further embodiments, the posts 21 can optionally or additionally be designed as static elements provided with strip-like light sources.

[0076] For the support of the rafters 28, the wall connection profile 26 is attached to a wall 25. The parallel rafters 28 are rotatably mounted to the wall connection profile 26 by means of rafter brackets. A partition 24 runs between the rafters 28, which is shown here as a glass partition. Alternatively or additionally, a partition 24 can also be provided in the form of other types of panels, for example, twin-wall polycarbonate sheets or opaque panels.

[0077] At one end of the rafters 28, opposite the wall connection profile 26, they are supported by a pivot bearing on a purlin 19 running parallel to the wall connection profile 26. The angle of inclination of the rafters 28 relative to the wall 25 or the wall connection profile 26 fixed to it is positive, so that the roof structure 20 slopes down from the wall connection profile 26 towards the purlin 19. The purlin 19 thus forms a bottom purlin.

[0078] The purlin 19 is supported by two posts 21 attached to its ends, which are anchored in a ground 22. Furthermore, a gutter 23, running transversely to the rafters 28 and parallel to the purlin 19, with an associated downpipe for collecting and draining rainwater, is provided.

[0079] Electrical connections are preferably integrated into the rafter brackets of the rafters 28. According to the invention, such a roofing device 20 can thus be easily provided with lighting, in particular ambient lighting, during or after assembly by inserting strip-like light sources 1 into the grooves 3 of the rafters 28, contacting them with the connections and fastening them with the fastening means 4 according to the invention.

[0080] Furthermore, the terrace roof is constructed with the additional elements described in more detail in DE 20 2016 005 196 U1.

[0081] Fig. 8 shows a perspective view of a terrace roof with a ridge beam.

[0082] In contrast to the embodiment according to Fig. 7 The roof structure 20 is not attached to a wall, but is freestanding and slopes down on both sides. The structural elements 2 therefore differ as follows: Instead of a wall connection profile 26, a ridge beam 27 is provided here, which supports a plurality of rafters 28 on both sides, as well as all other components in relation to... Fig. 7 The described elements are present. The ridge purlin 27 is pivotally mounted on a central purlin 19' running parallel to the ridge purlin 27 by means of a pivot bearing, which is supported at its ends by central posts 21'.

[0083] On both sides, purlins 19 and roof gutters 23 connected to them are provided at the end of the rafters 28 facing away from the ridge purlin 27.

[0084] Although the present invention has been fully described above with reference to preferred embodiments, it is not limited thereto, but can be modified in many ways.

[0085] For example, the LED strip 6 does not necessarily have to be inserted into the C profile 13. It would also be conceivable to coordinate the locking elements 17 of the fastening section 10 and the counter-locking elements 14 of the groove 3 in such a way that the LED strip 6 can be inserted directly between the counter-locking elements 14 without being damaged during fastening.
