A SKEDD contact is manufactured by stamping and subsequent bending, with the SKEDD contact being made from a single piece of material and featuring two different material thicknesses.

[0012] The object of the invention is to provide a direct plug connector which has a compact design, is cost-effective to manufacture and increases the stability of a mechanical and electrical connection.

[0013] The invention solves the problem by providing a direct connector with the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are described in the subclaims.

[0014] The direct connector according to the invention for establishing an electrical connection between a conductor and a metallized through-hole of a printed circuit board comprises a fastening element and a contact with at least one first contact arm. The first contact arm is designed to electrically connect the conductor to the metallized through-hole. The fastening element can assume a fastening position and a release position, wherein the fastening element is designed to fasten the direct connector to the metallized through-hole in the fastening position.

[0015] By using the metallized through-hole for both fastening the direct connector and establishing the electrical connection, a compact design of the direct connector is achieved. This compact design allows the material costs of the direct connector to be kept low, making the direct connector cost-effective to manufacture. Furthermore, if unwanted forces act on a direct connector, no or only minimal leverage moments occur due to the arrangement of the contact and the fastening element, thus achieving greater stability of the electrical connection of the direct connector.

[0016] The conductor can be a strand of a cable or a wire.

[0017] The contact can have a connection section. The connection section can be designed to establish a detachable electrical connection or a permanent electrical connection with the conductor. In particular, the electrical connection between the connection section and the conductor can be a soldered connection, a press connection, a crimp connection, an IDC connection, a clamp connection, a tongue connection, a crimping connection, or a welded connection. The first contact arm can be designed to establish a detachable electrical connection with the metallized through-opening. In particular, the detachable electrical connection can be a plug-in connection. The first contact arm can be designed to be pushed or plugged into the metallized through-opening, in particular multiple times, and to be pulled out of the metallized through-opening, in particular multiple times. In particular, the first contact arm can be resiliently configured so that a secure electrical connection is established after insertion into the metallized through-hole. In other words, the first contact arm can be elastically deformed during insertion into the metallized through-hole, thereby prestressing the first contact arm. The prestress can press the first contact arm against the metallized through-hole. The first contact arm and / or the contact can have a chamfer or rounded portion on its edges, in particular on its outer edges. The contact is made of electrically conductive material or at least has an electrically conductive coating.

[0018] The fastening element is designed to engage with the metallized through-opening in the fastening position or to engage with the metallized through-opening, and is designed to be pushed or inserted into the metallized through-opening in the release position, or to be pulled or removed from the metallized through-opening. The fastening element can be a flexible element; in particular, the fastening element can be moved from the fastening position into the release position by exerting a force on the fastening element, for example by bending or twisting the fastening element. In the release position, the fastening element can be prestressed, the prestress causing the fastening element to move independently from the release position into the fastening position, for example by the fastening element springing back into the fastening position. The fastening element is a separate element from the contact. The fastening element can, for example, be part of the housing. The fastening element is made of electrically insulating material or at least coated with an electrically insulating material.

[0019] When the fastener has been inserted into the metallized through-hole, the fastener in the fastening position can create a positive connection and / or a frictional connection with the metallized through-hole.

[0020] The direct connector has a locking pin which, in a locked state, prevents the fastening element from being moved from the fastening position to the release position by means of a positive connection with the fastening element, and which, in an unlocked state, enables the fastening element to be moved from the fastening position to the release position. Advantageously, the locking pin achieves a more stable mechanical fastening of the direct connector to the metallized through-opening; in particular, the locking pin prevents the fastening of the direct connector to the metallized through-opening from becoming accidentally loose. For example, the locking pin can be moved multiple times between the unlocked and locked states. In the locked state, the locking pin can be inserted into the fastening element or received by the fastening element. The locking pin can also be designed not only to block the fastening element in the fastening position but also to press it against the metallized through-opening.

[0021] The contact defines a gap for at least partially accommodating the locking pin, wherein the first contact arm at least partially delimits the gap, and wherein the locking pin is arranged within the gap, at least in the fastening position. This arrangement of the locking pin and contact advantageously achieves a compact design.

[0022] In a further development of the invention, the contact has a second contact arm arranged opposite the first contact arm, wherein the first contact arm and the second contact arm at least partially define the gap. The use of a second contact arm increases the stability of an electrical connection of a direct connector. The second contact arm can have the same properties or the same design as the first contact arm.

[0023] In a further development of the invention, the locking pin has at least one first groove, within which the first contact arm is arranged at least partially when the locking pin is in the locked state. For example, the first contact arm is arranged partially within the first groove. In the release position, the first contact arm can also be arranged partially within the first groove.

[0024] In a further development of the invention, the locking pin has a second groove within which the second contact arm is arranged at least partially when the locking pin is in the locked state, wherein the second groove is arranged opposite the first groove. For example, the second contact arm is arranged partially within the second groove. In the release position, the second contact arm can also be arranged partially within the second groove.

[0025] In a further development of the invention, the locking pin and / or the first contact arm has at least one run-on bevel, each of which is designed so that, in the locked state, the locking pin presses or preloads the first contact arm against the metallized through-opening. For example, the run-on bevel can be designed so that the locking pin applies a force to the first contact arm in the direction of the metallized through-opening. The locking pin and / or the second contact arm can have a further run-on bevel, each of which is designed so that, in the locked state, the locking pin preloads the second contact arm against the metallized through-opening.

[0026] In a further development of the invention, the fastening element has at least one first locking arm with a first locking lug. To fasten the direct plug-in connector to the metallized through-opening, the first locking lug preferably engages the metallized through-opening or at an end of the through-opening at which the through-opening merges into an underside of the circuit board. The first locking arm can be designed to be pushed or plugged into the metallized through-opening, in particular multiple times, and to be pulled out of the metallized through-opening, in particular multiple times. For example, the first locking arm can deform elastically, wherein the first locking arm is not deformed in the fastening position and is deformed in the release position. For example, the first locking lug has a first bevel and / or a second bevel. The first bevel can be designed to transfer the fastening element from the fastening position to the release position, in particular to deform and deflect the first locking arm when the fastening element is pushed into the metallized through-opening, and / or the second bevel can be designed to transfer the fastening element from the fastening position to the release position, in particular to deform and deflect the first locking arm when the fastening element is pulled out of the metallized through-opening. The second bevel can have a greater gradient than the first bevel, so that a greater force is required to pull the fastening element out of the metallized through-opening than to push the fastening element into the metallized through-opening.

[0027] In a further development of the invention, the locking pin, in the locked state, rests against a rear side of the first locking arm, which is remote from the first locking lug. For example, in the locked state, there is a positive connection between the locking pin and the first locking arm, which prevents the first locking arm from being transferred, in particular deformed, from the fastening position into the release position. The rear side of the first locking arm and / or the locking pin can be provided with a run-on bevel. In the locked state, the locking pin can preload or press the first locking arm against the metallized through-opening.

[0028] In a further development of the invention, the fastening element has a second locking arm with a second locking lug, wherein the second locking arm is arranged opposite the first locking arm. The use of a second locking arm increases the stability of the fastening of the direct connector to the metallized through-hole. The second locking arm can have the same properties or configurations as the first locking arm. The rear side of the second locking arm and / or the locking pin can be provided with a bevel. In the locked state, the locking pin can preload or press the second locking arm against the metallized through-hole.

[0029] In a further development of the invention, the locking pin is designed to be pushed between the first locking arm and the second locking arm.

[0030] In a further development of the invention, the first locking arm and the second locking arm lie in a locking arm plane, the first contact arm and the second contact arm lie in a contact arm plane and the locking arm plane and the contact arm plane are perpendicular to one another.

[0031] In a further development of the invention, the direct connector comprises a housing, wherein the housing comprises the fastening element. For example, the fastening element can be arranged on an underside of the housing. Preferably, the fastening element and the housing are formed as a single piece. For example, the fastening element and / or the housing can be made of plastic. Within the housing, the contact can be arranged in a manner that is touch-safe and electrically insulated from the environment.

[0032] In a further development of the invention, the housing has a first housing part and a second housing part, wherein the first housing part has the fastening element and wherein the second housing part has the locking pin, wherein the first housing part and the second housing part are displaceable relative to one another, wherein in a first relative position of the first housing part and the second housing part the locking pin assumes the unlocked state and wherein in a second relative position of the first housing part and the second housing part the locking pin assumes the locked state. Preferably, the locking pin is formed integrally with the second housing part. A direction of displacement of the first housing part relative to the second housing part can be parallel to a longitudinal axis of the metallized through-opening and / or parallel to a direction of insertion of the direct plug-in connector into the metallized through-opening.

[0033] In a further development of the invention, the contact has a securing portion arranged within the housing that secures the contact against falling out of the housing. When the direct connector has established an electrical connection between the conductor and the metallized through-hole, the fastening element is in the fastening position, and tensile forces act on the conductor, the securing portion can prevent the contact from falling out, in particular from being pulled out, from the housing as a result of the tensile forces acting on the conductor, thereby preventing the electrical connection from being severed.

[0034] In a further development of the invention, the direct connector has a centering element that can interact with a corresponding centering element of the circuit board and secures the direct connector against twisting. The centering element can be a centering opening or a centering pin. The corresponding centering element of the circuit board can be a centering pin or centering opening. As a rule, a centering opening is provided on the circuit board. For example, the centering element can be arranged on an underside of the housing, in particular on an underside of the first housing part. For example, the centering element and the housing can be formed as a single piece. For example, the centering element and the corresponding centering element of the circuit board can act as a positioning aid when the direct connector is attached to the circuit board and specifically to the metallized through-hole.

[0035] Further features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the claims and the following description of preferred embodiments of the invention in conjunction with the drawings. [0036] Fig. 1 shows, in a view obliquely from below, a direct plug-in connector 1 with a housing 17 having a first housing part 18 and a second housing part 19. A contact 2 protrudes in sections from the first housing part 18 on an underside of the direct plug-in connector 1. A first contact arm 3a and a second contact arm 3b of the contact 2 protrude in sections from the first housing part 18. The first contact arm 3a is arranged opposite the second contact arm 3b. The first contact arm 3a and the second contact arm 3b are intended to electrically connect the contact 2 to a metallized through-opening of a printed circuit board. The two contact arms 3a, 3b lie in a common contact arm plane.

[0037] The housing 17 has on its underside, on which the first contact arm 3a and the second contact arm 3b protrude and which in Fig. 1 facing the viewer, has a fastening element 4. The fastening element 4 is intended to fasten the direct connector 1 to the metallized through-hole. For this purpose, the fastening element 4 can assume a fastening position or a release position. When the fastening element 4 is in the fastening position and inserted into the metallized through-hole, it holds the direct connector 1 to the metallized through-hole or to the printed circuit board. In the release position, it is possible to push the fastening element 4 into the metallized through-hole or to pull it out of the metallized through-hole. Fig. 1 the mounting position is shown.

[0038] The Fig. 1 The fastening element 4 shown has a first locking arm 9a and a second locking arm 9b. The first locking arm 9a has a first locking lug 10a, and the second locking arm 9b has a second locking lug 10b. The first locking arm 9a is arranged opposite the second locking arm 9b. The two locking arms 9a, 9b with their locking lugs 10a, 10b are designed to engage in the metallized through-opening. The two locking arms 9a, 9b are arranged in a locking arm plane.

[0039] Fig. 1 shows that the two contact arms 3a, 3b and the two locking arms 9a, 9b are intended to use the same metallized through-opening on the one hand for establishing an electrical connection and on the other hand for fastening the direct connector 1.

[0040] Further shows Fig. 1 that a locking pin 5 is arranged between the two contact arms 3a, 3b and the two locking arms 9a, 9b. The locking pin 5 is intended to block the fastening element 4 so that the fastening element 4 and especially the locking arms 9a, 9b are not inadvertently moved from the fastening position to the release position.

[0041] Fig. 2 shows the direct connector 1 from below. The two locking arms 9a, 9b are located in a locking arm plane 14, and the contact arms 3a, 3b are located in a contact arm plane 16. The locking arms 9a, 9b and the contact arms 3a, 3b are arranged such that the locking arm plane 14 and the contact arm plane 16 are perpendicular to one another.

[0042] Fig. 3 shows a sectional view of the direct connector 1, where the sectional plane III-III shows the contact arm plane 16 from Fig. 2 The direct connector 1 is inserted into a metallized through-hole 40 of a printed circuit board 50. The two contact arms 3a, 3b rest against a wall of the metallized through-hole 40 and thereby establish the electrical connection thereto.

[0043] Fig. 4 shows a sectional view of the direct connector 1, where the section plane IV-IV shows the locking arm plane 14 from Fig. 2 The two locking lugs 10a, 10b are arranged outside the metallized through-hole 40 and rest on an underside of the printed circuit board 50. The two locking lugs 10a, 10b thus engage behind the metallized through-hole 40 and thus prevent the direct connector 1 from being accidentally removed from the printed circuit board 50.

[0044] Further shows Fig. 4 that the locking pin 5 is formed in one piece with the second housing part 19 and that the fastening element 4 is formed in one piece with the first housing part 18.

[0045] Fig. 4 shows a locked state of the locking pin 5. The locking pin 5 is pushed between the first locking arm 9a and the second locking arm 9b and rests against both a rear side 11 of the first locking arm 9a and a rear side 12 of the second locking arm 9b. This creates a positive fit between the locking pin 5 and the two locking arms 9a, 9b in a direction parallel to the circuit board 50. This positive fit blocks the fastening element 4 and the locking arms 9a, 9b in the fastening position and prevents the locking arms 9a, 9b from being inadvertently moved into the release position, which would then cause the direct connector 1 to become inadvertently detached from the circuit board 50 and from the metallized through-hole 40.

[0046] In order to remove the direct connector 1 from the metallized through-hole 40 and thus from the printed circuit board 50, the locking pin 5 must be moved into an unlocked state (not shown). Fig. 4 For this purpose, the locking pin 5 must be moved together with the second housing component 19 relative to the locking arms 9a, 9b and the second housing part 18 upwards, away from the circuit board 50. In the unlocked state, the locking pin 5 is then at least no longer arranged between the two locking lugs 10a, 10b and a transfer of the locking arms 9a, 9b from the fastening position to the release position is possible. If the locking arms 9a, 9b are transferred to the release position, in Fig. 4 i.e., deflected inward, the locking lugs 10a, 10b can move into the through-opening 40, and the direct plug-in connector 1 can be pulled out of the metallized through-opening 40. To transfer the locking pin 5 to the unlocked state, a user pulls on the second housing part 19 in a direction 8 pointing away from the printed circuit board. As a result, the second housing part 19 is displaced relative to the first housing part 18 until both housing parts 18, 19 assume a first relative position. In the first relative position, the locking pin 5 is in the unlocked state, and the direct plug-in connector 1 can be pulled out of the metallized through-opening 40.In order to reattach the direct connector 1 to the metallized through-opening 40, the two locking arms 9a, 9b together with the two contact arms 3a, 3b are pushed into the metallized through-opening 40 until the two locking lugs 10a, 10b snap into place behind the metallized through-opening 40, as shown in . Fig. 4 is shown. A user then pushes the second housing part 19 against the direction 8, whereby the second housing part 19 moves relative to the first housing part 18 and assumes a second relative position, which in Fig. 4 In the second relative position, the locking pin 5 is in the locked state, see Fig. 4 .

[0047] Fig. 5 shows the direct connector 1 from below, with the direct connector 1 connected to the printed circuit board 50. The two contact arms 3a, 3b rest against the wall of the metallized through-hole 40, thereby establishing an electrical connection. The two locking lugs 10a, 10b hold the direct connector 1 to the printed circuit board 50 via the same metallized through-hole 40. The locking pin 5 is in the locked state and blocks the locking lugs 10a, 10b.

[0048] Fig. 6 shows the direct connector 1 in a top view. The direct connector 1 is attached to the printed circuit board 50 and establishes an electrical connection between a conductor 30, which is connected to the contact 2, and the metallized through-hole 40 of the printed circuit board 50.

[0049] Fig. 7 shows the direct connector 1 in an exploded view or exploded view.

[0050] Fig. 8 und 9 each show a view of contact 2 from an angled front and an angled rear, respectively. Contact 2 has a connection section 13. Connection section 13 is designed to establish an electrical connection with conductor 30 and to fasten conductor 30 to contact 2. For this purpose, conductor 30 is placed in connection section 13 of contact 2, and by crimping connection section 13, a crimp connection or press-fit connection is established between contact 2 and conductor 30. The connection section can be designed in any desired manner within the scope of the invention, for example, as an insulation displacement contact or as a solder lug.

[0051] Furthermore, the contact 2 has a securing section 20, wherein an end 27 of the securing section 20 facing the connection section 13 is bent relative to the contact arm plane 16, in which the contact arms 3a, 3b and the remaining securing section 20 are located. The securing section 20 is arranged within the housing 17 in the assembled state of the direct connector 1, see also Fig. 3 , and secures the contact 2 against falling out of the housing 17. When a conductor 30 is connected to the contact 2 with the connection section 13 and the conductor 30 is pulled, the bent ends 27 of the securing section 20 abut against a bead 28 of the second housing part 19, thereby preventing the contact 2 from being pulled out of the housing 17. In other words, a positive fit between the bead 28 and the end 27 prevents the contact 2 from falling out of the housing 17.

[0052] Contact 2 is formed in one piece from a flat sheet metal material. The sheet metal material is first punched or lasered out, and then bent to form the connection section 13 and the end 27 of the fuse section 20.

[0053] Further in Fig. 8 und 9 shown that the contact 2 defines a gap 6, wherein the first contact arm 3a and the second contact arm 3b at least partially delimit the gap 6. In the fastening position of the locking pin 5, the locking pin 5 is arranged within the gap 6, see also Fig. 3 . For this purpose, the locking pin 5 has a first groove 7a, within which the first contact arm 3a is partially arranged, and a second groove 7b, within which the second contact arm 3b is partially arranged, see also Fig. 1 . Because the two contact arms 3a, 3b are arranged opposite each other, the grooves 7a, 7b are also arranged opposite each other.

[0054] Fig. 10 und 11 each show an oblique view of the first housing part 18. The first housing part 18 has a contact recess 24. The contact recess 24 is provided so that, during assembly of the direct connector 1, the contact 2 can be inserted into the first housing part 18 such that the two contact arms 3a, 3b partially protrude from the first housing part 18 and are arranged between the two locking arms 9a, 9b.

[0055] Fig. 12 und 13 each show a sectional view of the first housing part 18, wherein in Fig. 12 the section plane IV-IV the locking arm plane 14 Fig. 2 and in Fig. 13 the section plane III-III the contact arm plane 16 from Fig. 2 is.

[0056] Fig. 14 und 15 each show an oblique view of the second housing part 19 with the one-piece locking pin 5 and the two grooves 7a, 7b.

[0057] Fig. 16 und 17 each show a sectional view of the second housing part 19, wherein in Fig. 16 the section plane IV-IV the locking arm plane 14 Fig. 2 and in Fig. 17 the section plane III-III the contact arm plane 16 from Fig. 2 is.

[0058] Fig. 18 und 19 each show a different perspective of the sectional views of the second housing part 19 from Fig. 16 und 17 .

[0059] Fig. 20 shows an oblique view of the second housing part 19 from Fig. 14 from a different perspective. The second housing part 19 has an upper locking opening 25a and a lower locking opening 25b. A locking lug 26 of the first housing part 18 can engage in these locking openings 25a, 25b, see also Fig. 11 . When the first housing part 18 and the second housing part 19 are in the first relative position, the locking lug 26 is arranged within the lower locking opening 25b. When the first housing part 18 and the second housing part 19 are in the second relative position, the locking lug 26 is arranged within the upper locking opening 25a. Therefore, the first relative position and the second relative position of the two housing parts 18, 19, and thus also the unlocked state and the locked state of the locking pin 5, are determined by the locking lug 26 and the locking openings 25a, 25b. When a user transfers the two housing parts 18, 19 between the two relative positions by pushing or pulling on the second housing part 19, the user feels the locking lug 26 engaging in one of the two locking openings 25a, 25b, indicating that the first relative position or the second relative position has now been reached.

[0060] Fig. 21 shows a sectional view of the direct connector 1, with the corresponding cutting plane in Fig. 2 with the reference symbols XXI-XXI. The first housing part 18 has a centering element 21 in the form of a centering pin, which is received in a corresponding centering element 22 in the form of a centering opening in the circuit board. The centering element 21 is provided to correctly position the direct plug-in connector 1 when it is attached to the circuit board 50 and to prevent the direct plug-in connector 1 from twisting when attached to the circuit board 50.

[0061] Fig. 22 shows a sectional view of a direct connector 1'. The direct connector 1' is an alternative embodiment of the direct connector 1 from the Figuren 1-21 , whereby for a better understanding identical and functionally equivalent elements are given the same reference numerals and in this respect reference is made to the above explanations regarding the embodiment of the Fig. 1 bis Fig. 21 can be referred to, so that essentially only the existing differences will be discussed below. The locking pin 5 and the two contact arms 3a, 3b each have a run-on bevel 23. When the two housing parts 18, 19 are transferred from the first relative position to the second relative position, the run-on bevels 23 touch each other and interact in such a way that the contact arms 3a, 3b are pushed outwards. If the contact arms 3a, 3b are inserted into the metallized through-opening 40 and the two housing parts 18, 19 assume the second relative position, as shown in Fig. 22As shown, the contact arms 3a, 3b are prestressed or pressed against a wall of the metallized through-hole 40. This results in greater stability of the electrical connection between the contact arms 3a, 3b and the metallized through-hole 40. This can be of great advantage, for example, in mobile applications in which the direct connector 1' and the printed circuit board 50 are exposed to vibrations.

[0062] As the embodiments shown and explained above make clear, the invention provides a direct plug connector which has a compact design, is cost-effective to manufacture and increases the stability and reliability of an electrical connection.
